A word from Ziloufs
Nestled amongst the chic boutiques and furniture stores along Upper Street in Islington, our modern restaurant with its spacious lounge area is the ideal spot to indulge in a post-shopping cocktail.

Ziloufs is decorated in a warm blend of coffee and vanilla tones with 50s and 60s furniture and influences, perfect for a fun night of dining and dancing. Our chef was trained at one of the most high-profile Thai restaurants in Australia, and absolutely everything on the menu is made on the premises.

The baristas here make sensational coffee, and the barmen do an excellent Espresso Martini.

Diner Reviews
  • "Ziloufs is one of my favourite restaurants, I have been many times. They recently changed their menu, you can try 5 dishes for a fixed price, and they are all delicious"

  • "Have had brunch and lunch here and both were superb. Friendly and attentive service and outstanding food. Will definitely be returning."

  • "I had dinner at Ziloufs with a group of girlfriends. Their sharing platters therefore suited the occasion very well. We all found the dishes very creative and tasty, indeed providing a different experience. The service was also extremely attentive and friendly. The only observation I would make is that I felt choices for vegetarians (or even fish lovers) were somewhat more limited than those available to meat lovers."

  • "I went for dinner with a friend and we shared dishes from their new tapas-style menu. Each dish was better than the last and the service was friendly and quick. I can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu."

  • "Recommended by a friend, great service and ambience. My buddy and I had a wonderful time but the food was not impressive, we went for surf and turf which was below average and the sauces seemed to be a derivative of each other. That said wine was good and we did have a great time, clearly they're trying something interesting and simple and that should be applauded. However the chef should bring out a different menu, this didnt work (and please get rid of those sauces)."

  • "I was disappointed that the menu had changed, but more so because the food wasn't as good as it had been previously. The cocktails are still worth a visit. Our server was excellent."

  • "Relaxed meal with friends that was very enjoyable. Meal was a few sharing plates which fitted well with the atmosphere"

  • "Pre gig meal on 5 March 2014. Have been many times before but the new menu has small and large "sharing plates". It's confusing and inconvenient for people who like different things (for instance like / don't like chilli) and so don't want to share. The food was OK (large dish steak and small dish "prawn toast" good but the Som Tum and the beef and lamb in lettuce was dull and didn't capture the authentic asian flavours). Overall for what one got relative to elsewhere the bill was 30% too high."

  • "The light from the windows creates a light open space, very pleasant for lunch. Its fairly noisy so can imagine that dinner is pretty loud. Very friendly and efficient service. Great sunday roast."

  • "We are huge fans of Zilouf's. I dare say that if we lived in London we'd be here every Sunday to enjoy what is, without doubt, the best Sunday roast we've tried (apologies to respective mothers). Outside of Sunday lunch, the restaurant specialises in delicious Asian fusion offerings bursting with fresh flavours. The staff are unfailingly delightful, friendly and enthusiastic and a warm welcome and great service are the norm. Highly recommended if you find yourself on Upper Street in Islington. Alternatively just find an excuse and go!"

  • "The service that day for brunch was a bit slow - especially with drinks. It was a nice restaurant with a good vibe but the portions were on the small side. Having said that it was a very reasonable price. Overall, very good meal."

  • "The tastiest Sunday roast I've experienced in London. Given I have eaten brunch here several times before I was pleasently surprised on the quality of the roast. Everything about it was cooked perfectly with all of the veg and accompaniments providing another hit of flavour. I had the lamb rump which was mouthwatering whilst my girlfriend had the pork belly. Both were devine. Would highly recommend."

  • "A group of 6 we all had a lovely Sunday roast. Very generous servings, meat cooked to perfection and great service! Well located and easy to get to by public transport or park the car on a not so busy Sunday."

  • "We went for dinner on NYE. I've been to Ziloufs before and the food is wonderful. Our table was booked for 9pm, we waited an hour for our table. We waited a further 45 mins for our starters, the seared scallops werent cooked and very jellyish still. The mains took another 45 minutes and we didnt finish eating till just before midnight, the wrong order came to the table so there were lots of delays and we didnt finish eating until 12am! The lamb and duck were both extremely rare with alot of blood. We werent asked how we would like our meat. They gave us free food and drink as an apology for messing everything up which was very generous."

  • "Sorry Ziloufs. I love you, your food and the ambience. I have enjoyed your jungle curry many times and salivated over your desserts. I was so looking forward to trying your Sunday roast about which I've heard so much. That is why I booked you. BUT my lunch companion had never been before, although I waxed lyrical about you he did not want to eat a roast, and the alternative centred mainly around eggs. All a little bit too English so soon after Christmas when he wanted something different. I'm sorry I didn't get to try your Sunday fayre. I look forward to doing so another time"

  • "I am never disappointed when I come to Zilouf's. Whether it be for brunch, drinks are most recently for dinner and drinks to celebrate my Birthday. The food is good, the service excellent, special thanks to Will the manager for being flexible with me upping the number of people I booked for dinner and for reserving us a table in the bar area before dinner."

  • "We love Ziloufs! Excellent service, incredible meals curated by an Aussie chef and an extensive cocktail menu. What's not to love?"

  • "This was a greta little find and we loved the food. Very modern take on the Korean Classic Kim Chi and a lovely Seared Salmon. The pink peppercorn bread was great with a chilli dip. My major regret is that due to bad traffic we ended up having less time there than we planned. Will definitely be back with a few more friends."

  • "Thank you for accommodating us. They kindly seated us when we arrived early, unfashionably before our booking. We enjoyed the cocktail happy hour which offered a varied array of interesting options. We both plumped for the jungle curry and were not disappointed. Fabulous fish and seafood in a sauce that was hot and spicy without burning your palate. Generous portions and perfect jasmine rice. One thing - we are both dessert lovers and rarely none of the options appealed so we went for dessert elsewhere on Upper St. Not a big deal but a larger choice of dessert would have meant we would happily have stayed longer and spent more. But we very much enjoyed what we had. Thank you Ziloufs"

  • "Apparently even when You have your email confirming the booking, they call You to confirm it anyway. I wasn't avala le so couldnt pick up. When we arrive 5 minutes after 9 our book was already with someone else and we had to wait for an hour!! Make sure You pick the phone if You dont want to wait. Other than that it was a really good dinner."

  • "Nice atmosphere, good service and interesting menu choices. The food was well prepared and tasty and our pre-dinner cocktail was delicious and especially good value during the Happy Hour. The 2 course fixed price menu is excellent for the money. Would recommend"

  • "I went with 4 girlfriends looking for a sociable evening with cocktails and good food. Not sure if its trying to be a club or a restaurant. The food aspires to be something it's not. The jungle curry was bland; triple cooked chips flaccid and oily; ginger martini really sour.. All accompanied to such loud music it was impossible to have a conversation. The only redeeming feature was the staff were very friendly."

  • "I have been to Ziloufs a few times now. The menu is a little limited but everything on there is delicious and I have never been disappointed by the food. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and there is never the pressure to leave the moment your food is finished you get in more central restaurants. The service is prompt but not intrusive. This is one of my favourite restaurants in that area of London and I will certainly be visiting again."

  • "I found this restaraunt on Top Table- hadnt heard of it before but the menu looked nice and the steak special (2 for £20) sounded great - its always a risk to go to a new place but we were so pleasantly surprised- the food was absolutely delicious - there wasnt a crumb left on our plates- the 4 of us who had steaks loved them and the chips were amazing. The others loved their dishes too. Our 2 waitresses were great- very friendly and excellent service - would highly recommend"

  • "We enjoyed our dinner at Ziloufs. At previous times i liked it better, but we were off to a bad start. Having read their menu online, I already chose a dish. Disappointingly the online menu wasn't up to date and my dish not available. I chose a new dish - the only one I really fancied - and was disappointed again. The restaurant wasn't able to accommodate my allergy to chilli. It made me question how much is freshly prepared. I've had the dish before and it was never a problem to change it. I finally settled for the lamb with aubergine. The lamb was nice, but the aubergine wasn't seasoned very well. The only other 'vegetable' was a big, marinated onion. Who eats a whole onion? All in all I couldn't shake a feeling of disappointment."

  • "At the end of a hectic week, when everyone has demanded your time, you need some time to yourself and someone else to do the running around, Ziloufs is the perfect place to meet up with friends and be selfish. The staff are very attentive and they do the running around to get you what you want, with out delays. The ambience is lively and fun, all in all the perfect counterpoint to a busy working week."

  • "We had a great meal at Ziloufs, the highlight being the incredible steak and delicious pork belly. The service was excellent also. Unfortunately the set menu choices were rather limited however."

  • "Made it just in time for happy hour, not the best cocktails - had better from the main menu. Main dining seating isn't the most comfortable but the ambiance is great and the food delicious. Everything done with an eastern flavouring, miso features quite a lot but beautifully cooked meat, great chips and interesting starter combinations. Very friendly staff."
