I have been going for 10 years on and off and have always loved my experience. Fine dining Italian food at its best with great service. I still think it is one of, if not the best, Italian Restaurant in London! The food is what you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant and I haven't eaten anything there that I didn't finish and couldnt eat twice. It is beautifully presented and authentically delicious. The service is outstanding, very attentive and freindly. The atmosphere is very grown up yet still child friendly, relaxing and warm. Portions were ok and luckily not too small. What we appreciated in the menu was that they had innovative dishes along with more traditional ones. Sometimes it happens that you want something which is traditional (for example the matriciana) and at the same time very well cooked. In this restaurant you can find it.
The service spoke Italian and was very kind and the ambience was very elegant and beautiful.Very nice flowers too.

Service was excellent and fairly unobtrusive. We shared starters of polpo (octopus) salad - very fresh and flavourful; scallops, bufala mozzarella with black truffles and truffle risotto - faultless. Our mains were linguini with bottarga and langoustines - beautiful, if a little rich; spaghetti amatriciana, which had great depth of flavour; Iberian pork chop that my cousin greatly enjoyed and polished off. I had the asparagus and pea ravioli - light and delicious. Puddings were just as they should be - standouts were the chocolate fondant and the citrus salad with sorbet. The last time was for my birthday. Our waiter overheard me say that be mistakenly thought it was my birthday on that visit. We were pleasantly surprised to be mistakenly presented with free birthday dessert. We all had a giggle and I think that it's that attention to detail which makes Zafferano great. The food is delicious although portion sizes small. The 4 course menu is the best value option. The sevice was a little slow at first and thd somellier arrived at the same time as our first course which was a little frustrating but more than compensated by his selection of wines throughout the meal . Scallop starter was melt in the mouth perfection and the burrata cheese aubergine combo was exquisite , lobster spaghetti superb and our ribeye to share was also heavenly . Chocolate fondant desert didnt disappoint . The formula still works, but i think the menu is in need of a refresh, and the service could be a little more friendly and generous (we used to get lots of Italian breads, salami, parmesan etc as anti-pasta, but you seem to have to ask for everything now).
