  • "We really loved the food, the accomodation and the super friendly staff! A place to remember and to go back! It was everything that we expected."

  • "The resturant ead lovely with a modern relaxed feel about it and the food was outdtanding and the waiting staff could not ofbeen more helpful"

  • "Had pleasant lunch with an old friend. Very warm welcome at the door, and sat at table next to courtyard (good for gossiping). We both selected from the reasonably priced set lunchtime menu. Apart from getting the starter order wrong for my companion, service throughout was attentive but not overbearing. Food quality was good - all 3 courses consistently good, and interesting selection of breads. All round very pleasant, but not wow. I was wondering why... Recognising that the proposition here is not the high gloss Ramsey I would expect from other restaurants, I think my only niggle was that some of the fabric on the chairs was just a bit grubby. Small thing I know... But nevertheless I would recommend and use again myself."

  • "Ordered a breadbasket. We got the butter right away and the bread half our later. We got the food after 1h and 15 min after we ordered it!The excuse was a larger group. I ordered the porktenderloin which was overcooked and almost burned on one side. I was so hungry I didn't say anything. Then the others ordered the lamb rack. One of the persons asked if he could get his dish without hazelnuts due to his allergy. This was not a problem because the hazelnuts were sprinkled over the meat. Then the dishes came and he got just the meat because apparently the hazelnuts were in the couscous. If he wanted he could get some potatoes which he got to pay for??!! Ridiculous. The lamb was also overdone."

  • "I moved to the area two years ago and eat out a lot, its been on the list to visit and sorry I didn't go sooner. We went for the first time the other night and were very impressed. Has a very neighbourhood feel to the restaurant, every table was full, got the impression mainly by locals. The menu doesn't quite match the website, apparently they changed it two weeks ago so hopefully that's fixed soon. Food was very good, slight pet hate is they didnt supply bread, you had to order that for 2.50.Guess we're so used to getting it without asking. I had the sea bass with gnocchi for mains, it was delicious and the toffee ice cream and brownie sundae for dessert, it did not disappoint."

  • "Went here for sunday dinner. The live music was an excellent touch, menu was fine and drinks list was extensive. We were having a healthy dinner, so did not get to sample the alcoholic delights, but we will def be returning soon. The pizza bar looks lovely, im going to go here soon also. I imagine its fab for having drink after work. i recommend and i will be returning. Service was fabulous !"

  • "Definitely recommend this place, very nice for sunday lunch, one of the bets out there and only a short walk to primrose hill to walk it off."

  • "I booked on top table a table for two people at the York and Albany, especially for my wife's birthday. We came from France to eat there... I felt a bit disappointed when been placed in the middle of the dining room (i asked for a cosy place)... That's the BAD point. Anyway, the food is gorgeous, and the waitress is great, kind, and really attentionate. Tastes are very surpriseful. We went there back 2 days after to taste the pizzas on a saturday night! Gorgeous! the bests ever! but the waiter was a bit lost, and forgot many things...."

  • "To replicate another diners review.....there was nothing awful but nothing was great. Pleasant surroundings. The prawns are shrimps, the tuna was delicious but more like sushi, the cod apparently under seasoned. The service was fine although interrupted each time to ask who has ordered what......too expensive for that to be happening. It was just 'ok', but wouldn't return."
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "We asked for bar instead of restaurant menu . Staff lovely. Food delicious."
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "Went here for my partners birthday last Sunday and wasn't disappointed. Had squid to start which was delicate and crispy then we both went for the roast beef which was perfectly cooked, rare in the middle along with great seasonal veg and not crispy enough roast potatoes. Wine choice is large and we went for a chianti followed by a couple of brandies at the end of the meal. Service was great and the place itself is gorgeous. Would recommend and will definitely return."

  • "The standard has dropped since I last went a couple of years ago. Very friendly but utterly inefficient staff, slow service and we were seated next to a bawling child. Not the restaurant's fault that the baby screamed but they knew it was a special occasion and we booked a week in advance. Perhaps DON’T seat a young baby next to the surprise party? The food was lovely but portions were tiny (no bloke I know would have been satisfied by the roast) and it took over an hour to arrive. Everything needed chasing including glasses for the bubbly, food and the bill. At one point the waitress dumped wine glasses on our table with the wine, unopened, before disappearing for 15 minutes. Wish I'd had my corkscrew! Great food but abysmal service."

  • "I would never go back! They ran out of all main courses except for plaice and a vegetarian roast. The service was slow, the staff were not friendly or warm given what they had to offer. My menu was ripped. The plaice was dry. I eat out a lot in London and this was one of the worst experiences I have had for as long as I can remember."
    dined on 09/03/2014
  • "Dinner with 10 people (group booking) on Saturday evening. Table with kitchen view. Excellent meals, wine and service for fair price! Small remarks: no appetizers, no delicacies at the end (with coffee/tea)."

  • "I went to the York and Albany to celebrate my husbands birthday and thought it would be a good night but it was not it was outstanding, we could not of asked for a more wonderful evening. From the moment we entered the doors we was welcomed , made to feel special, the service from the waiting staff was incredible, they were attentive not pushy, they catered for every request we made, helped us choose our drinks when we was not sure of the menu. The food melted in your mouth, and the desert was divine. t the end they even brought out a treat for my husband and sang happy birthday , thank you so very much Gordon Ramsay would and should be extremely proud of this resturant."

  • "We received this as a Christmas present, we had a 3 course lunch and the food was outstanding, every course was out of this world - a lovely experience."
    dined on 07/03/2014
  • "4 of us turned up on a Thursday evening. Friendly welcome, over-chatty waiter. Yummy starters, OK mains, £136 with no alcohol."
    dined on 06/03/2014
  • "Went with a great friend I hadn't seen for ages and had a lovely evening. The food was great. We shared the tea-smoked salmon and aubergine terrine for starters and they were both excellent. Then both enjoyed our mains - the lamb and the monkfish. The service was very good and very friendly. The sommelier really knows his stuff without being pretentious (had even helped me find a taxi...). I liked the feeling of space between the tables and the relatively sophisticated simplicity that makes for a relaxing ambience Would definitely go back..."

  • "What a difference 6 months makes but sadly not this case a positive one! Back in September we had a wonderful meal so decided to return for another family celebration but...... The service was very slow and long winded and our main course, when it finally arrived, was cold and the roast beef as tough as old boots!! We complained there and then but declined to send our meals back as it had taken an hour and a half to reach us. We were given complementary desserts but this failed to make up for our very disappointing experience. A third visit is definitely not on the cards!! Mr Ramsey needs to get his own house in order before telling others how to run theirs!!"
    dined on 02/03/2014
  • "Overall a nice experience in well designed and appointed restaurant with attentive staff. However one grumble is that the eggs benedict we ordered came out of the kitchen a little colder than I would have liked, a idea might be to warm the plates before plating up or get the food out a little quicker."
    dined on 26/02/2014
  • "We went to york and Albany with my husband while visiting London. We had a wonderful Sunday lunch (the salmon was delightful and the beef + pudding was a great experience. What we most appreciated was the kindness of the waitress. We found it a little expensive (maybe London effect compared with Paris)"
    dined on 02/03/2014
  • "We had mixed emotions to York and Albany. Cocktail guys were very good .However, other than that the place seemed to be let down by its other staff. We arrived ontime (some early), only to be shown to our table 30 minutes after our booking. Food -we were very pleased with - however, the condiments listed with the meals did not turn up, nor did a few of the sides, one of the meals was rare rather than mediam rare (no issue- but don't ask if you're not going to listen) & we had to ask for the wine menu three times. Getting attention was quite the challenge - we even went as far as to consider phoning them. I'd prefer efficiant staff than friendly staff. Its a bit picky-yes, but its the difference between a relaxing sunday lunch and a hassle."

  • "This is quite a different Ramsey restaurant but with the hallmarks you would expect. Attentive service, fantastic food, good value. We arrived slightly early, immediately greeted and shown to our table. One of my two gripes was the table in that it was VERY close to the next table with not much room around us. The food was exquisite though and I felt the value was very high. Well priced, quality wines too. My second gripe was that it was a birthday celebration. I don't want (and didn't get) singing waiters, but I felt there could have been more of a personal touch applied. All in all, I loved the food and value and would thoroughly recommend it and would have scored 5* across the board had my two gripes not happened."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "It was lovely food but for the money it cost the service was not up to standard. We were left waiting for 20 mins after dinner and had to flag people down to order dessert and coffe. The coffee was forgotten. We were given dirty plates for the cheese and there was still cling film around my starter, this however they did apologise for and take off the bill. I wouldn't return sadly."

  • "Great gastro-pub. Nice decor. Well mannered, cheerful and attentive staff :D Great British modern menu. Very well presented food.. Excellent flavours!!"

  • "Staff we're excellent and friendly. Recommendations of wine were perfect for us. Very reasonable prices, ideal portion size and the food was delicious. Special evening without being too fussy or precious, thank you so much."

  • "We had a wonderful time during our lunch. Some friends recommended the restaurant for us and we made reservartions. We loved it!"

  • "Very pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant. Haven't been to Camden in years. Food and wine all excellent. Would definitely recommend. We had an evening meal but I imagine Sunday lunch would be very good."
    dined on 25/02/2014
  • "Boring food. Nothing was that bad... Ok the brownie was bad... But other than that the food was ok, it just didn't set me alight in any way. There are better establishments nearby. Go there."

  • "Went to the York & Albany with two adults, two older children and a well behaved baby. Our table was ready & despite our group, we were given a warm welcome. Service through out the meal was out standing to match. The food was exemplary, hot wings the best ever, steak so tasty you could taste the grass the cow ate. Looking forward to a return visit & have been raving about it to friends."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "I can't rave enough about this place. When you walk in there's a line of staff who stop to greet you, it feels like boarding the Titanic. I had said it was my partner's birthday meal, and clean forgot I'd asked them to pop a candle in his pudding - so when he didn't actually order any pudding but just wanted to share my cheeseboard, they gave him a little scoop of sorbet just so they could give us the birthday treatment. There's an incredibly friendly, efficient, attentive and simply divine sommelier who was just flawless and really made the evening. Everybody's food was beautifully portioned and presented and absolutely lovely (have the monkfish, it's fantastic). We really couldn't have asked for more. Three cheers, Ramsay."

  • "We took my parents to the York and Albany for a Christmas treat It was outstanding The food was great The service was second to none Can't wait to go back"

  • "We had a fantastic meal at the York and Albany last Friday. The weather was atrocious but once inside the atmosphere was warm and friendly, The staff were polite attentive and professional at all times. The evening started well with some cocktails at the bar before we sat down, The cocktail menu was impressive and we both sampled new cocktails which were individually excellent from the award winning bar tender. The meal was first class, We had a wonderful Lamb main course for two people which was cooked to perfection, with a nice wine to accompany. I have no reservations in recommending this restaurant. Thanks"

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed what must be my third visit to Y&A. Service started rather slow but picked up into the evening. The limited number of covers in the rear of the restaurant makes for pleasant ambiance but an intimate feel. The food was excellent as always."

  • "Absolutely supperb, a real eye opener. GR on top form"
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "We had a table booked for 10 and arrived early. The bar area was very nice, and the atmosphere was good. We enjoyed a few drinks, and the barmen made us up a special one. Great service and the cocktails were very well made. When we were shown to our table, the quality of service continued and the wine was also good. The food was average, and while perfectly acceptable, we'd eaten better in a local pub. The food was good value but the range of dishes on the menu didn't offer much choice."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "I had great company to take to this lovely Resteraunt, there service was great, we arrived array and was given the option of sitting at our dinning table immediately or sock up the atmosphere at the bar until our designated time, we opted to sit at our table and our starters were promptly brought to us followed by a fast service of our mains. The food was great and we were looked after throughout our visit. We will be back"
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Over-salted food, dodgy decor, rude manager (but very friendly waiter), incredibly expensive for what you get. This was not just a bad day at the restaurant - some people around us seemed to be having a great time - but for anyone with half a brain cell this was truly an awful experience. How far Gordon has fallen!"
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Booked a table 2 weeks in advance . Arrived and was placed in the bar area for a romantic dinner with my other half rather than in the actual dinning area. Was really disappointed. Why would we pay to sit in the bar. Won't be returning"

  • "4 of us met here for Sunday lunch as a special treat. The staff were all very friendly and courteous. The food was tasty, I had the roast pork which just melted, and the bread and butter pudding which although lovely was not hot enough. The wines were certainly overpriced and over all the food was expensive for what you got. The restaurant was busy and that made it rather noisy. Having said all this we did enjoy our lunch but I do think that we were paying for the G.R name. I dont think I would go again."
