Vivat Bacchus London Bridge Ratings and Reviews
Good restaurant for lunch
Went here for on a Friday for a business lunch. Good food presented, well priced and quick service. It was a little noisy because of a couple larger groups lunching. I would go there again when in the London Bridge area.

Lovely early evening meal, arrived to be seated at a good table. Pleasant and efficient service throughout. We ordered a sparkling wine (Graham Beck Brut NV) which turned out to be really quaffable. Also nibbled on particularly delicious mildly spicy olives. We both had the VB burger which arrived well done (would have been nice to be prompted to ask for medium). The brioche bun was great and the burger had a good flavour but rather plain. We could have gone with the upsale of cheese but at £12:50 for the standard...The accompanying chips were excellent - chunky cut both hot and fluffy inside. Sticky toffee pudding was large enough to share but could have been more moist, great ice cream. Illy cappuccinos arrived hot foamy and cocoa dusted with the dessert as requested. All in all will be back.

Interesting cheese room, uncomfortable furnishings and some pleasant and attentive staff. Average value but worth a visit in the London Bridge area
A gem tucked away
It's off the beaten track at London Bridge but worth a visit. Good food with efficient and friendly staff. Saturday night's live jazz added to the ambience without being intrusive. Enjoyed the evening very much.
Well worth a visit!
We were given a very friendly welcome, all the staff were attentive without becoming annoying - Thanks for that. All six of us ordered steak and were so pleased they all arrived cooked to perfection. The Chocolate Textura dessert was amazing and the cheese room was exceptional, the knowledge of the lady from the Cheese Team was incredible and very helpful. We will definitely make a return visit.
Cheese room was awesome
Loved the curated visit to the cheese room - it made a great meal even better.
Very very kind staff, we have been served extremely well. The food is fantastic as well as the presentation and the quality of the meat (give the steak open sandwich a try!). A nice duo was playing guitar+contrabbass making the atmosphere 100% fantastic. Considering location, venue and quality, the price was more than reasonable. I will definitely come again thank you!
great atmosphere for after work drinks and light meal

I had a good experience taking my partner for a meal. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. I really liked the sea bass I ordered and my partner loved the steak burger. This restaurant specialises in cheese and wine so we also enjoyed a wine board. My only criticism of this restaurant is that the decor and ambiance makes it feel very ordinary, but this shouldn't put you off what is still overall a good dining experience.
Good food, good location.
Lovely wine bar, good atmosphere, and close to all amenities. Lovely selection of wines. Food was good. Service was attentive
Fantastic food served by an enthusiastic team
Warmly greeted and efficiently served. The food was imaginative and good quality, as well as being well-presented. An extensive wine list majored on some good quality South African wines, including many that are quite hard to find in the UK. The prices were a bit toppy, but even the cheaper bottles were a decent quality. A fun evening and a very good choice for vinophiles. If that is a real word.
Excelle nt Wine and Service
Didn't really go here for the food, more for the great wine. And it was more that worth it!!!
Great service. Great evening. Cheese ROOM!
Our party of 6 had a great evening - service was very good and the food was really decent. Dessert menu a bit lacking but fine for those without a sweet tooth - cheese room is fab :)

It's the first time I have dined in with my friends and overall, it was good and they have given me a really lovely dessert to wish me a happy birthday!
Vivat Bacchus is a great venue
Very convenient close to London Bridge and food is good. Service friendly and attentive. Ambiance a bit noisy.
Not inexpensive, but worth it.
As always it was excellent service and excellent food. The wine list is Encyclopaedic and caters to all tastes (and most budgets) Every time I go to Vivat Bacchius it is a delight. This was no exception. :)
We were pleasantly suprised when we found out they had jazz night every Saturday. I booked this restaurant for my boyfriend as a suprise dinne. When we arrived at 6pm we gound out jazz night was to start at 8pm. The staff were so accommodating and asked if we wanred to go for a walk and come back to experience the music. Amazing! And that's just about the staff. The food was delicious!
very enjoyable visit as usual
Very good friendly service. I have visited this restaurant several times and the food never disappoints. The ambience is pleasant and the cost reasonable.
Amazing wine and cheese and great service. What else can you ask for?!
Cheese and wine-what's not to love?!
Lovely wine bar with a varied wine list, decent food and a lovely cheese board. The Cheese Room where you can select your preferred cheeses to make up a bespoke board is a wonderful idea. The service is attentive and helpful, particularly in explaining the cheese options. Definitely want to revisit, and maybe try one of their wine club evenings.
Cheese, Meat, Wine - love it!
First time at Vivat Bacchus and highly enjoyable. It is a cheese, meat and wine place so this is what they do really well. One of our group had the trout which looked a little overcooked but the open steak sandwiches were fantastic, although I'd recommend English rather than American mustard for a bit of extra kick, but that's just my taste. Two of us went into the Cheese Room to sample and select our cheese board and were highly enthused about the experience. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and didn't put us under pressure to leave when we were the last customers. GREAT!
Good standby near London Bridge. Reasonably priced wine, no-nonsense but not boring menu
Really enjoyed a late Saturday evening supper at Vivat Bacchus, atmosphere made superb by wonderful live jazz, fabulous!! Great wine & food with friendly service. Looking forward to my next visit already!!

Service. Waiter went out of his way to help choose food and wine. Cheese room chap was excellent. The staff were so friendly. The food was fresh and delicious.
The waiters were amazing and had fantastic knowledge on the cheese and wine! And were very attentive since we arrived till the end of the night. We were had an amzing meal. It was a fabulous dining experience!
Fantastic restaurant with friendly staff
In the last month I have visited Vivat Bacchus in London Bridge twice. The first occasion was my birthday meal, the staff were more than accommodating for a large group of girls on a Saturday evening. We actually arrived a little late (due to friends travelling from other parts of the UK) which is often frowned upon but we were greeted with a warm welcome and seated straight away. I also recently took my mum for a meal after work. The staff were again attentive and friendly. The food, especially the steak and sea bass, is cooked to perfection. The cheese room may look unassuming but it is definitely worth a visit if you love cheese, Natalia knows everything that there is to know. Finally this restaurant offers great value for money, both when it comes to food and alcohol. For a meal of this calibre I would be expecting to pay a great deal more than I have.
Good Pre Shakespeare Dinner
We had an early dinner prior to going to the Globe theater. I had the kangaroo burger and my wife a mushroom risotto. She really enjoyed her risotto, my burger was nice enough but Kangaroo meat is very lean so the burger was perhaps a little dry, the bun was really nice though and the chips excellent. Service was good and the best thing is the very reasonable price list, we had a South African Cab Sauvignon at slightly under £40 that was excellent and would compare to wines twice that price in other places. Service was fast and efficient so that we were away in plenty of time to get to the Globe. Would be happy to go again.
Convenient meeting place for meal and drinks in London Bridge. Nothing amazing but straightforward, decent menu with a few unusual items ( had the kangaroo burger) Also enough options for my vegetarian friend. Didn't partake of the cheese room but definitely a safe bet for this area - would recommend.
Great restaurant ..!
Great ambiance, with live acoustic jazz in background. Very nice food, great service....and a cheese room. Has it all for a lovely start or end to a day. Tucked away in a hidden lane, near London Bridge. Would recommend for a special occasion .
We had dinner here after a day out visiting Imperial War Museum. I looked it up online and saw it had good reviews so booked a table for 2. I cannot fault anything about this place- lovely food, great wine, brilliant service. And above all, very good value! We both had sirloin steak, (delicious) chips very nice and I had strawberry tiramisu and my partner had the cheesecake. Both of which were very nice. I would thoroughly recommend Vivat Bacchus, and already have to my friends.
Amazing wine, the cheese board was fantastic and the service was very attentive.
A first class, first date venue :)
Had a great time time - everything was perfect. We were taken into the (small, but stocked) cheese room and the staff took great care in making sure our selection was right. Then we got wine to match and sat in the perfectly lit restaurant area. Top marks all round.
Service - great, the wine is to die for. If you like good food, and if you love good wine (and cheese) go here... trust me on this..
Busy, and evident why.
A miserable rainy London day and a suspicion that some outside tables had been booked which had to be moved inside, so it was packed and it was all rather manic on arrival. Once seated though a most pleasurable experience, generous portions, both of us ate fish and the wine list was, excellent.
Great wine and good (but overpriced) food
I ordered the larger rib-eye steak. It was very well cooked but at £29.95 was overpriced, especially given the small portion of fries, the paucity of vegetables / salad served with it and the fact that a small helping of Bearnaise sauce cost £2.75. The wine was fantastic and more reasonably priced. Service was quite slow but friendly and helpful when being seen.
A great night.
I had booked a table here on a Saturday night for my girlfriend's 21st birthday. We arrived at 9pm to find out that there was live jazz music that evening. This immediately made the night more entertaining, and romantic. I had organised, via the internet, for a bottle of Champagne to be brought to our table upon arrival, and the staff did everything and more to accomodate. The service was brilliant, our glasses were never empty, and they were chatty and charming. The food was great, though I would recommend sides if you're a big eater. We would definately go again, but especially on a Saturday. I would certainly recommend the 9pm slot when it's busy, but intimate and not over crammed. Excellent, excellent evening.
Great night out
Good food, good wine, good service (though a little distracted towards the end).
Amazing cheese selection
We went for a friends birthday to go into the cheese room. The staff were fantastic, we were taken into the cheese room, and the staff took their time telling us about where the different cheeses were from, what made them special and how they were made. We got to sample them and create our own cheeseboard. What made our experience so special was the time that was lavished on us. I felt spoilt. Even better was how reasonably priced it was, we had the cheeseboard as a dinner for 3, and it cost £36- and the wine was delicious. Thank you for a lovely evening! Will definitely be going back
Best cheese & wine experience (and other food too)
Had a wonderful experience here tasting and choosing cheeses from the cheese room with the help of the resident expert. Will certainly be visiting again. (and again!)
Nice for catch up with friends over lunch!
I met up with my friend for a quick lunch at VB this week and wasn't disappointed. We both had their open sandwiches with chicken, bacon and quacamole, which was delicious. Their triple cooked chips are done really well too. The wine selection is great and, together with the food on offer, this place definitely merits further exploration!
