Village EastFood is always fantastic andFood is always fantastic and very tasty. Is great for a romantic event.13/05/2013 00:00:00Never disappointed!Every time I go to Village East, I am never disappointed. The food and the service is always good. The atmosphere is great. I would recommend this place to anyone.07/05/2013 00:00:00Laid back brunchMy friends and I booked in for a Saturday brunch catch up on the recommendation of another friend – who is an expert bruncher. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was great. Plenty of buzz but nothing that would inhibit girly chatter. The food was tasty, with a great selection and the waitress provided the perfect balance of service: attentive but not intrusive, even if it wasn’t exactly friendly.
I’d definitely recommend it and will be coming back.04/05/2013 00:00:00yum yumGreat food and service. I recommend the pear tarte tatin.02/05/2013 00:00:00Vodka at breakfastBrilliant bloody Mary's - between us we managed to try one of each of them! Good breakfast options too, and nice coffee28/04/2013 00:00:00Good food, great serviceWent here with someone for a business lunch, and they really looked after us. Had the calamari then the duck for main. The calamari was lovely, and the duck was fine, though the potato was slightly undercooked. Service was brilliant - really friendly, really helpful, not too in your face.19/04/2013 00:00:00Really good, as alwaysThe service was really friendly, food excellent, as were the cocktails.18/04/2013 00:00:00A real buzz - happy crowd,A real buzz - happy crowd, good food, excellent service.10/04/2013 00:00:00I took my date to Village East...I love all of the restaurants in this group and was really looking forward to Village East. I'm happy to say it lived up to my expectations. They get the interior fit out just right. Cool but comforting and welcoming too. I love that there are different areas all with a slightly different feel. My monkfish was absolutely delicious and my friend had the rabbit which he ate every morsel of!! Lovely wine - always have NZ Sauvignon Tinpot Hut- it never disappoints. Service was excellent. The lounge bar looked cosy and sexy but we decided to go elsewhere for a drink after, and ended up at Village Easts' sister down the road - The Garrison. I love it there too.....04/04/2013 00:00:00I've dined twice and beenI've dined twice and been there twice for just drinks and I like it more every time. I love the staff, the vibrant but not hectic atmosphere, the lower dining room behind the bar is actually nicely quiet. Quirky details without being pretentious. Great wines. Meal can be either basic or a full-blown food galore. The list is limited in length, which is a GOOD thing, but not in variety: plenty of choice from simple fish and chips to an easthetically pleasing and succulent mustardy stuffed rabbit. For drinks only: nice and relaxed but happening even on a Sunday, nice wines, expert cocktailmanship. Great surroundings. Just top notch.03/04/2013 00:00:00Very trendyWe loved Village East and will definitely be returning.31/03/2013 00:00:00Great mealDelicious meal with friends. Had the 12oz ribeye steak on the bone. Lovely.31/03/2013 00:00:00loved it!A family group of 6 had Sunday lunch for my Mum's birthday. The food was delicious, the menu had good choices for children and vegetarians. The quality was very good. The best thing was the staff - all obviously happy to be working there and couldn't have been more helpful.
We all enjoyed our lunch very much and plan to re-visit.31/03/2013 00:00:00Superb cocktails, worth the price!Fantastic food and superb cocktails make Village East worth the journey to South East London - the bill was pretty pricey for a meal for 4 but that was largely down to us getting carried away with their delicious cocktail menu - worth every penny though!23/03/2013 00:00:00Excellent ServiceA group of us came here for brunch and I was very impressed by the whole experience. The staff were so friendly and made us feel really welcome. We had a lot of bags with us, and they let us store them in the cloakroom and even offered to ring a taxi for us. The food was excellent too!
Many thanks.17/03/2013 00:00:00My second time hereAnd I was not disappointed completely, The duck salad was nicely done, only problem was that my main was cold when brought to the table, I asked to be returned and it came back not as presentable as the first time but good enough to eat it. The service was good, and I know they know what they are doing.16/03/2013 00:00:00Great Brunch- Love the menu which had a good mix of hearty and light breakfast dishes to choose from.
- I had the scrambled eggs with chorizo, sourdough bread and spinach which was delish!
- I thought the 90 minute limit for the table was a bit short.09/03/2013 00:00:00Great food, great service,Great food, great service, great ambience, what more can you ask for?06/03/2013 00:00:00Village East - highly recommendedAppealing and extensive menu, including standard burger, steak, etc. and also innovative dishes. Not cheap but well worth it. Service friendly and relaxed but professional. Had some delicious wine.01/03/2013 00:00:00a gem in bermondsey !absolutely faultless all the way !

it is certain that i will be back there sooner than later even so i do live the other side of london22/02/2013 00:00:00The staff were very accommodatingThe staff were very accommodating when I needed to change my booking time twice (and then still arrived 15 minutes late) and were friendly and attentive throughout our brunch.
I had the scrambled eggs with chorizo, pepper and spinach and it was DELICIOUS! My boyfriend had the Village East breakfast and he said that everything tasted fresh and cooked perfectly.
We've been to lots of places for casual brunch in London and I would definitely say that this is up there with the best.16/02/2013 00:00:00ValentinesHave had a fantastic brunch at Village East before but this time am writing about a Valentine's meal - we took the set menu option which was delicious and great value. A cocktail to start with fresh baked bread and olives, followed by very fresh oysters with chopped chorizo and delicious grilled scallops with Asian slaw. The mains were equally good, sea bass cooked to perfection and magret duck breast, pink as it should be!
To round things off we ordered a chocolate fondant and crepes suzette - a small mistake and we got 2 chocolate fondants, following which we received the crepes suzette thanks to a super-apologetic and friendly manager. 3 desserts for the win...
This all came to £39 per person which I felt was great value. Recommended!14/02/2013 00:00:00Good as everGreat food, impeccable and friendly service, cozy ambience..highly recommendable..06/02/2013 00:00:00Great fun and good foodThe food is good and the crowd are buzzy. Staff look after you very well and it all runs smoothly despite it being packed and noisy. Great venue for meals out with friends or colleagues, not so sure the atmosphere would suit a romantic dinner for two, really. We had a great time and I will definitely go again.31/01/2013 16:00:00I came here for cocktailsI came here for cocktails and dinner with a friend. Great atmosphere, very helpful and friendly waiting staff, good menu. The food isn't cheap but it was very nice. Two courses plus a cocktail each and coffee was about £45 each.25/01/2013 16:00:00Great for brunchWe went here for Saturday brunch with friends - the food was excellent and service too.18/01/2013 16:00:00Great foodI loved the food and service, but I feel it was a bit too loud for conversation.10/01/2013 16:00:00Amazing again! This was the second time I've been to Village East and I call it an experience rather than just dinner! The food is great, cocktails are yummy but the service is out of this world! Go on - treat yourself, you deserve it!09/01/2013 16:00:00Village East is one of myVillage East is one of my reliable local restaurants and we go there alot. We always enjoy whatever meal we have there no matter whether day or night. Great cocktails too and late bar until 1am. Ive already recommended it to 3 people as it was for me the best place Ive been in months!03/01/2013 16:00:00Lovely food and good atmosphere.I came here for dinner and enjoyed fantastic cocktails and very good food. My friend's fish and chips seemed good although nothing particularly special; the pheasant was delicious though. It's not cheap but the atmosphere is good and the staff were very helpful. The downstairs private room had a party in which looked fun - I'd definitely consider booking it for more people.22/12/2012 00:00:00ambience: not sure if theambience: not sure if the place was so busy because of xmas, but the atmosphere was good right from the beginning. it had a good vibe - lively without being oppressively so.
service: the service got off to a slow start - no menus for ages. the restaurant was very busy, so it was understandable. as soon as we were on their radar, the service was great. attentive without being intrusive.
food: the food was very good without being great, which probably would've been lost on my palette anyway.
value: is eating out in london ever good 'value'? i don't eat out for value. based on the above, however, it was good value.
overall: would go there again and recommend it to friends. bermondsey street is a good place to go.19/12/2012 16:00:00As always brilliant. ConsideringAs always brilliant. Great and cheerful service and good food well prepared.13/05/2012 16:00:00Village East is in the heartVillage East is in the heart of thriving Bermondsey Street. The menu was loaded with red meat and fish which was beautifully but simply presented. The food and service were excellent and the wine list, whilst not extensive, was more than sufficient for a nice supper after a long day. Will definitely go back and will recommend to friends.02/05/2012 16:00:00Good Sunday lunch, lovelyGood Sunday lunch, lovely roast chicken, great puddings and like the range of wine by 1/2L.28/04/2012 16:00:00Village East on BermondseyVillage East on Bermondsey Street was absolutely mobbed.... both of the bars were jammed packed but this added to the atmosphere. Felt v ripped off. Pork cheeks poor too.Tender meat that had all the flavour boiled out of it, then served in a tasteless watery broth. Excellent scallops w pork belly and a fab salmon dish made one customer happy but left one very disappointed.30/03/2012 16:00:00Another sensational meal atAnother sensational meal at Village East in Bermondsey Street.
