A word from Vasco & Piero's Pavilion Restaurant
Vasco and Piero opened the restaurant in 1971. Vasco and Piero created the restaurant out of a passion for good, uncomplicated Italian food. The making of fresh pasta on the premises has always been a priority. From the outset, the menu changed twice a day, a tradition which still continues.
Vasco was born in Umbria and as a result of this many foods are sourced direct from farmers in this region. Particular favourites are truffles, wild mushrooms, seasoned cheeses and cured meats such as lombetto and capocollo.
We only use the best quality extra virgin olive oil mainly from Umbria, Central Italy.
Many of our hams & salames such as Lombetto (a cured loin of pork) are imported from local Umbrian farms.
When in season, we import black & white truffles from hunters around the hills of Umbria.
Our balsamic vinegar is from Modena. We use Maldon sea salt with pure flaky crystals.

Diner Reviews
  • "My husband and I had dinner at Vasco and Piero's while we were in London for the weekend. Everything was amazing, from the food to the service. We're planning to go back next time we're in London and will recommend it to any friends who may be in the area."

  • "Friendly welcome. Knock out salad of beets, leaves and mozzarella. Well executed swordfish and while bean dish although the portion was small unlike the salad. Great service, just the right amiunt of attention."

  • "Vasco's delivered, as always, a very enjoyable experience. the pasta is delicious and the chocolate fudge cake dessert was exceptional. The service is quick and attentive, but they never rush you."

  • "Really couldn't fault this excellent italian restaurant. Will be back."

  • "Booked for group of 6 on a busy Friday night. Without exception my party were impressed with the simple and non-pretentious fayre. Absolutely delicious, original Italian cooking as it should be. Menu changes daily which I always think is a good sign. Recommended."

  • "Bland title I know. I know a few people who swear by the place but I'd never been before. The staff are very friendly, have a laugh, the food is very nice though I think I got the last of the chocolate mousse mix but hey, I'm trying to lose weight not gain it so a small portion was OK. It's not one of those modern highly polished places where everyone moves silently around, there's a nice buzz, the tables are packed in but you can tell there are regulars eating there and regulars means good."

  • "Felt at home. Everything was served very quickly and we finished our three course within 1.5 hours. Maybe not for a sophisticated food, but good for a traditional food from Umbria."

  • "We visted Vasco & Piero's Pavilion for Lunch and being to this restaurant for the first time it did not look like much from the outside. This impression changed as soon as we were greeted, the service was exceptionally friendly and quick. The food was excellent and although a little expensive absolutley worth it. I would strongly recommend Vasco and Piero's but bring some time as the desserts (Tiramisu) was the best we had had in London so far and therefore ordered a second service."

  • "Prebooked or a pre-theatre dinner. We were the first customers through the door, as they were opening at 17:30 and the waiters were taking their coats off but we were warmly welcomed and included in their banter. The venue is small and cosy but not fussy. The menu was also relatively small - perhaps 10 starters and ten main courses - and dated with the day of our visit - so it presumably varies day-on-day. The food is classic italian trattoria, but not necessarily standard menu items. My wife had a chicken liver salad to start followed by excellent sea-bass. I had fennel scented salami with ragu/pasta to follow. All excellent. In short we were delighted by the welcome, the food and the service. We felt we had very good value."

  • "Expensive but amazing food! Excellent service, only thing was; only one person of the two ordered a starter and both people were given a starter :/ felt rude to say anything. Very polite and well mannered staff. Would most definitely recommend Vasco's and Piero restaurant."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "A very quick dinner -- after ordering, the 2 courses arrived bafflingly quickly. We were out of the door in little more than an hour. The food was fine -- but given the speed, expensive."

  • "Great meal, great place, a must try if your in the area."

  • "it's always good- the menu changes every day- the service is attentive and kind. And others must know because it's always packed. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here."

  • "With a family Italian restaurant atmosphere, the ingredients and quality of cooking make the food here second to none. Deceptively simple dishes are just delicious. Interesting wine list too. Our favourite Italian in London."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "I loved the food. Portion size was just perfect. A bit overpriced given the simplicity of the ingredients and portion size."
    dined on 12/02/2014
  • "A further return visit that did not disappoint! With so many chains selling 'plastic' imitations of Italian food it is a delight to visit Vasco & Piero's and eat home cooked, genuine Umbrian food."
    dined on 08/02/2014
  • "Very good food with some unusual flavours. Everyone enjoyed everything they had. Good, attentive (but not too attentive) service. Only thing that was not so great is that quite a few of the tables including ours were very squashed together, I wasn't that interested in next doors conversation and I'm sure they weren't interested in ours."
    dined on 06/02/2014
  • "We discovered Vasco & Piero's while visiting London in 2010, and have always made a point of dining there when we're back here ever since. As they use the freshest ingredients of whatever is in season in Umbria, the menu constantly changes, making every dining experience here seem like a first. Our favorite Italian gem in London!"

  • "Its always a pleasure to eat here, staff are lovely and the food delicious"

  • "It is refreshing to go back to somewhere after 20 years to find that it is still good. Vasco & Piero's has maintained a standard but at the same time has evolved with modern Italian cuisine. We had a terrific dinner where everything was fresh and cooked with care and attention. It is always great to have a menu where all of the choices look appetising and here I could have chosen anything. The wine choices are good if not a little pricey but other than that, I can't fault it. We will definitely be back."

  • "As usual i enjoyed my lunch in The Pavillion. It was not as busy as usual but it was a Monday in January."
    dined on 20/01/2014
  • "No nonsense (family-run?) restaurant serving excellent, proper Italian food (don't expect pasta other than as a starter). In an otherwise glitzy part of town, you don't come here for the decor - you come for really excellent food and prompt, courteous service with it. Highly recommended."
    dined on 18/01/2014
  • "Food is always amazing here but service is much better during the week. Is it because Saturday evening is more a tourist night?"
    dined on 18/01/2014
  • "We had a wonderful lunch, the service was excellent, the food was great, lovely mix of flavours and very tasty. Also good that you can order a mini plate for those who don't want to have a large plate of pasta. There was no noise apart from other guests enjoying their meal too. What I really liked also was nobody had a mobile phone on the table, no iPads etc. while we were there for a special occasion the other guests in the restaurant were mainly business people. I would go back again but as it can work out quite expensive I would leave it for another special occasion."
    dined on 10/01/2014
  • "Go for the pasta with beef ragu, so fresh! The Tuna tartare was lovely too."
    dined on 09/01/2014
  • "Food Perfecto! Service very good,,a little more than I would like to pay but great food nonetheless! I should stay off the wine :)"
    dined on 28/12/2013
  • "Simple cooking with very good ingredients, very well presented - as always!!"
    dined on 23/12/2013
  • "We booked an early time at this restaurant for pre-theatre dinner so initially we were the only people dining (it filled up quickly while we were eating). The menu for the day had just been printed and there was a good variety of options for all courses. We had a total of six dishes between us and they were all delicious with the butter and rosemary agnolotti being outstanding. A good selection of Italian wines is also available. Service was excellent throughout and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for excellent food."
    dined on 27/12/2013
  • "Do not understand the reviews. Kale had an off taste. Sorbet had cream. Could not provide a list of ingredients With so many fabulous restaurants in London , not sure how this one lasts."
    dined on 07/12/2013
  • "We were looking for somewhere near Soho for a good meal but reasonably priced. I was a bit unsure when we walked in as the decor was unexciting and it looked a bit cramped. We were seated and we had good space so the first impression was not fair. The service was friendly and relaxed but efficient. The meal was tasty and the portion sizes just right. I am not sure that I would go for a big celebratory event but very good for catching up with friends and theatre trips etc."
    dined on 13/12/2013
  • "We got there a couple of minutes before our 5:30pm booking and everything was shut up, which was a little disconcerting, however we waited for a few minutes and everything was very good from that point onwards. The restaurant was empty to start with but soon filled up with what appeared to be regular customers. The food was simple and excellent - perfectly cooked and full of flavour and the service was also just right. We never had to worry about finishing within the 90 minutes we had before our show started and the restaurant even made up an off-piste meal for one of us who fancied chicken. A very good meal - highly recommended."

  • "Wonderful food and wine. The tuna and cod were heavenly."
    dined on 10/12/2013
  • "My friends introduced me to this cosy and classy little Italian place and I wanted to go back for our Christmas meal. It's pricey but the food is delicious. I had the swordfish which was perfect. The owner comes out to talk to you and all the staff are friendly and there are obvious regulars. I docked a star for them doing that obligatory waiter thing where they put you right next to someone else in an otherwise empty restaurant, but it did fill up by the end of our meal."
    dined on 09/12/2013
  • "My partner and I dined here last friday night for a special occasion. The staff were most kind in accommodating us and did everything to make our night special. The only negative from the evening was the Pork Belly came out over cooked and only just warm but when mentioned to one of the wait staff she was only too quick to apologize and replace it. We had a wonderful experience and would like to thank all the staff that made our night special. We shall return."

  • "Good quality traditional food with excellent ingredients. Chicory salad starter was excellent, the cod fingers and chilli sauce had good fish but a bit lack lustre. Calves liver was well cooked as was the sea bass. Guinea fowl with tagliatelle was sublime, beautiful cream and mushroom sauce with a touch of spiciness. Lovely old fashioned feel to this restaurant but relatively expensive, even for this area."
    dined on 05/12/2013
  • "Nice to find a real Italian, with most of the dishes being non pasta (there was pasta as well)"
    dined on 05/12/2013
  • "I always try to eat here if I'm in the neighbourhood. The food is good, well presented and always very tasty. The staff are friendly and efficient and always show an interest in their customers. A great place to have dinner."

  • "I first happened upon Vasco & Piero's around 12 years ago and every meal I've had there since has been a great experience. From the warm welcome when you walk in, through the friendly and courteous service to the simple, but beautifully prepared food what is there not to like? Living well out of town means that we don't get to eat here as often as we'd like, but we always book a table when we do come in to the West End - it's that good!"
    dined on 30/11/2013
  • "We enjoyed Vasco and Piero's Pavilion Restaurant for a pre theatre meal. Very welcoming and quick efficient service enabled us to enjoy 3 courses of fine italian food. The restaurant offers good all round value."

  • "An excellent choice for pre-theatre. Very good value set menu and delicious food - we had the duck and lamb. Highly recommended."
