Trishna - London Ratings and Reviews
Good food and drinks, cute restaurant in a good area

The ambience of a house restaurant in fashionable Marylebone combined with superb cooking takes "Indian food" to a whole new different level. The Gymkhana team have done it again. Superb!
Mid week dinner for four at Trishna's was memorable. Attentive service, good menu, great food - I mean, GREAT food - interesting wine pairings and a lively atmosphere made for an excellent evening. Not cheap, but highly recommended.
Delicious taste of India in London!
Visited Trishna on a Sunday night while visiting London with my husband. We both enjoyed the 5-course tasting menu with wine pairings. The food was excellent and the wines were even better. Would definitely recommend!
We were the first people into Trishna on Saturday. The welcome was very warm and the service was attentive. We had excellent gin and tonics, lamb curry and fish biriyani. The sides - particularly the saag aloo - were great but the salmon tikka starter was the star of the show for me. We got a surprise birthday dessert as well, which was a lovely touch.

Lovely little restaurant, service great. We had the 7-course tasting dinner and every one was amazing and beautifully presented.
Average food at sky high prices
Go to a normal curry house. You'll have tastier food for half the cost!
Terrific value except for the wine
as there are only a handful of bottles starting in the mid-twenties. A shame as it marred an otherwise exceptionally good meal with very high quality ingredients, Still our favourite non-European food restaurant but they could usefully revisit their wine list as we are not all plutocratic oligarchs...
Superb, do not miss
I've been to Taramind, Veeraswamy, Cinnamon and a slew of London, Hong King and New York Indian restaurants and this is hands down the greatest and most delicious Indian restaurant I have eaten at. It has better food than all of the other high end restaurants and down to earth, friendly and extremely skilled and helpful service and staff. For all that, it doesn't take itself too seriously and has a very comfortable ambiance. Best, no question.

Excellent food and good service with sensible recommendations from the staff on dishes to choose. Main drawback is the noise in the main room - voices just ring from the walls, making the dining experience quite uncomfortable. Having some form of sound absorption on the walls and ceiling would make a massive difference.
Great food and service
Had a meeting in London and arranged dinner at Trishna on the recommendation of my brother-in-law. Both the food and service were excellent.

Lovely evening having the 7 course tasting menu with paired wines.
good neighborhood restaurant
A great quiet off the main street location. The service was first class. We found the food very good. Our only compliant was that it is a little cramped but was not to noisy. A wide selection of food with some very unique offerings. If one is looking for a great place to have a good meal after a busy day this is an excellent choice
eaten here before but this was the best food we have had there. The soft shell crab and John Dory were exceptional. Will return again and again.
Excellent food with very good (perhaps too big!) portions. Good wine list. Service very warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.
Superb Indian food in a wonderful, relaxed setting
I loved everything about this place! The ambience and decor is very low key - you wouldn't really know what part of the world the food was coming from because the focus is on comfort, low level lighting, lots of wood - essentially, a set up for a relaxed dinner and a great setting for good conversation with friends or for romance! That said, as soon as we saw the menu it was very clear which part of the world we were focusing on albeit with some real innovation and flair. And the execution of the menu's promise didnt disappoint. We knew we wanted a tasting menu with wine pairing and we were greedy and unable to resist the lure of the 7 course menu. A bargain with the wine pairings which were creatively chosen and very generous pours. Every course was a delight and the portions, for a tasting menu, were wonderful - they can sometimes be so disappointingly like amuse bouche sized! Not here. Particular treats were the seafood courses which were superb, but the lamb chop was great too! Service was fantastic throughout. I know Gymkana is their sister and is the 'popular' joint in terms of toughness to get a reservation. I've always wanted to go but now I'm not so sure because Trishna ticked all the boxes for me. It was our wedding anniversary dinner but I'll be back before the next one comes around!!
Food was good but very spicy, not unexpected for an Indian restaurant, but would be useful to have an indication of spiciness on the menu. Table was a bit squashed in, but I think we were just unlucky as most other tables looked more spacious.

The Lunch Bites were beautifully presented and very filling especially the Seafood Salad. The Carrot Brûlée was to die for!

It was great food, Indian with a western twist. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the servers were really lovely and helpful. Definitely recommend
One of THE best lamb chops in London. Spicy, fresh, full of flavor. In fact, every dish was superb. Great service throughout our meal. My 3rd trip here, previous being either 2 or 3 of us, this time 6 - service was great on each occasion. Would highly recommend.
South Indian food at Trishna was careful and refined but not imaginative. The set 3-course early evening menu seemed tailored to Western tastes and bordered on boring. Substituting appam for white rice would have pumped up the sour and offset the sweetness of everything. The stand-out was the dessert, a surprising turn on the familiar and beautiful to look at. Service was attentive but stiff.
Everything was average from food to service although vegetarian food choices were limited and food was quite greasy not what I would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. Disappointed also with the paneer tikka dish which came out hard and cold and instead of providing an alternative the manager simply argued it is how they alwYs provide it
Trishna exceeded my expectations. The food was outstanding and there were plenty of choices on the menu. Something for everyone. Impeccable service without being over the top and set in a great location just off Marylebone High Street. Restaurant ambience was busy and friendly with a mixed age group, again anyone would enjoy this place. It was pricey but you certainly get what you pay for. Definitely going again!

Great ambience and service. The food was of very high quality although not for my particular palate. None the less a very interesting and dynamic menu. Certainly worth a visit.
Delicate, beautifully presented dishes full of flavour and colour. Menu is extensive, dominated by seafood, and there are various price options, eg 2 course express lunch for £17, apart from a la carte. Service was helpful and attentive. We were there on a busy Saturday lunchtime but atmosphere was relaxed and very pleasant. Highly recommended.
A meal to remember
This place would convert even those who don't think they like Indian food. Everything was executed with panache. The flavours and textures couldn't be faulted, and even our highly skeptical Indian friends who accompanied us were delighted. We ordered a set menu of five courses. There was plenty of food and a wonderful variety of textures and tastes. I can't wait to go back.
Great Food, great atmosphere
Trishna is a really good restaurant. Id recommend it to anyone. Great for a long lunch of an evening meal the food is outstanding.

Amazing Indian food
Trishna is a gem in Marylebone. The food is the most delicious and beautifully presented Indian food I have tasted. My husband and I return frequently - it is our favourite. The waitstaff and sommelier are so knowledgeable so we try something new each visit. Go soon and enjoy!

Outstanding tandoori lamb chops. Best I have had anywhere. Amazing squid, fantastic tandoori bream, and everything was extremely enjoyable. Worth a detour, and certainly worth a second visit. Service needs a bit of polish - but the food is why go here. Seating is very uncomfortable. Hard wooden chairs that cause a bit of an ache after 20 mins or so of sitting I them. If the decor and setting matched the quality of the food this would be amazing.
Ask for a table in the inner room -- busy but doesn't feel crowded. When we went for lunch, we were first sat in the outer smaller room which was empty. They were quite happy to move us when a table opened up inside, Had the lunch bites menu. Starters were excellent and imaginative. Seafood salad with squid, shrimp, scallops, a couple thin slices of a spicy sausage, each done separately and then assembled into a lively whole with samphire. Quail was cut into delectable boneless pieces, lightly coated in spices and grilled, served on finely shredded and caramelized onion (or cabbage?) One main was jheenga (prawn) curry with a mild cocunut milk based sauce, good but not superb. Other main was a seafood biriyani -- nicely done and unusual. What put this over the top for value was that the mains were served with a small basket of naan, a bowl of white rice, a plain but nice daal, and a raita. Pudddings were rasmalai (good, somewhat inventive) and a beetroot brulee (not successful, sort of a beet kheer with a caramelized shell on top). We had wines by the glass for starters and mains that were suggested by the sommelier -- he knows his stuff!
Really enjoyable lunch
We had a 3 & a half year old with us & the staff were fantastic with him. The food was delicious & lots of variety. Would highly recommend & would definitely go again.
Tasting menu is a must!
We had 4 of us and went two for two with two vegetarians set menus and two meat set menus. We opted for the wine pairings also. Each course was better than the last, the wines made the meals. Flavours were different to any Indian I have ever had. Lovely meal! We all agreed that it was one of the best meals we have had all year.
A delicious gem
Lovely cosy nook serving innovative Indian food. Everything was top notch, especially the squid and prawn starters.
Slipping a bit...
Has the 5 course set menu, quite pricy at £55. Compared to other Michelin starred establishments the dishes seemed clumsy and heavy handed: one dimensional. Good wine list, but I won't be going back.
A favourite London restaurant. Amazing food!
Trishna is Indian food but it is unlike any Indian cuisine I have had. The food is varied and delicious with spectacular meat, fish and foul from the tandoor. The staff are attentive; the sommelier so informed at matching wines with the beautiful food. The decor is simple and elegant and the value for money is amazing. It is one of my favourite restaurants in London. I look forward to going back soon.
Outstanding food and service. Well chosen compact wine list.
Great food and such attentive service
My third time to this amazing restaurant and never disappointed. This was a Valentine's evening even though it wasn't actually on Valentine. As I'd been before I wanted my husband to experience it. We combined a la carte and the £55 set menu to try a range of dishes. I must admit we were stuffed by the time it came to the dessert! We had grand ideas of a dessert wine, a dessert each and a dessert cocktail but alas only we could only manage a shared dessert! Maybe next time! The staff made recommendations and staggered the food fantastically so it was timed perfectly given the different choices. They were attentive and kept our glasses topped up. It was all so tasty and my husband loved it. So, I'll be back again.

lunch was good and there is an extensive array of dishes a la carte and also set meals for lunch with wine Really good flavours and caters well for vegeterians
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Greeting was sincere and we were made welcome the minute we stepped through the door. We opted for the 7 course menu and we wern't disappointed. Food was delicious, each course had great presentation and well timed. I will definately book again
