A word from Trinity
Trinity is a neighbourhood restaurant situated in the heart of Clapham Old Town.
Opened in 2006 by Chef Adam Byatt, the restaurant quickly established itself as a popular local restaurant pairing imaginative, accessible food and well sourced reasonably priced wines with knowledgeable and caring hospitality, relaxed and sophisticated surroundings and exceptional value.
A critical success from the outset, the restaurant garnered 3 AA rosettes and The AA Restaurant of the Year Award 2008/2009 and Best Local Restaurant from Time Out Magazine 2007/2008.
Trinity actively engages and supports our community using where possible local suppliers for crockery, flowers, meat and fish, assisting in the Trinity Church Summer Fete and Adam’s participation in the Academy of Culinary Arts “Adopt a School” Programme.

Diner Reviews
  • "Food good but only 2 choices for set lunch.Radishes featured too much -in amuse bouche, starter and main .Could be more varied at that price."
    dined on 08/04/2014
  • "Not up to the usual standard. My starter of mussels was cold and the signature dish of pigs trotters has changed completely and wasn't as good or what I was expecting ."
    dined on 08/04/2014
  • "We had a good deal, the food wasn't anything to rave about. Service was pretty good and the atmosphere was good"
    dined on 11/02/2014
  • "Trinity does very good, inventive, tasty food, with super service and a wine list which includes a good selection of by the glass and 500 ml carafe options at affordable prices. (I am not expert in wines, so cannot comment further.) Indecision on the options makes the tasting menu a safe bet, with 5 varied courses. It seemed that the majority of diners on Saturday night went for this. Some staff are better than others at running through all the details of what you have in front of you - don't be afraid to ask questions, as they are knowledgeable and helpful. It's 2 years on the trot that we have celebrated my wife's birthday here, and there is no reason we would not make it an annual affair (and find excuses to go in the interim too!)."

  • "I have run out of good things to say about Trinity. I only wish I hadn't moved away from Clapham Common as I don't go back to Trinity often enough. Food is fantastic and the set lunch is fantastic value. One of the best restaurants in London!"
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "Always an absolute pleasure to eat here - can't wait to see what the new piazza looks like in a few weeks. It'll be the best seat in town"
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "Love Trinity. It is so good to have such a wonderful restaurant so close to us. Adam Byatt was a pleasure to meet. He kindly personalised a signed copy of his cookbook for me. Good man."
    dined on 30/01/2014
  • "Excellent food, great service, relaxed environment. Trinity never let's me down"
    dined on 23/03/2014
  • "Overall the food was good, as was the service. But I was reminded when ordering a cappuccino that "they don't do drinks with foam" and I really think they need to get over themselves! The waiter seemed embarrassed - I guess he has to deliver judgment on the drinks front day in day out. Gordon Ramsay's Hospital Road and other Michelin starred restaurants don't have these kinds of issues. This is a classic case of how little things become big things as the judgment overshadowed what otherwise would have been a great meal; it was all the six of us commented on the meal the following day!"
    dined on 22/03/2014
  • "How does Trinity still not have a michelin star? We have been coming here for several years now and the standard never dips. Adam Byatt's menus are innovative, interesting and seasonal. The food is beautifully prepared and always delicious. This time, the tasting menu comprised a wonderful soup to open, a terrine of guinea fowl, a halibut dish, a fantastically rich Ox cheek topped off with a wonderful aerated chocolate dessert. Whilst it is not cheap, it is fantastic value when compared to other restaurants in London of a similar quality. We love Trinity and am already looking forward to our next visit!!"
    dined on 15/03/2014
  • "We went for a lunch on Saturday and I must say that it was excellent. We started with a nice glass of the house champagne and picked the 3 course lunch option. The food was great, good portions, well presented and very tasty. The service was impecable. We'll be going again soon. Definitely recommend!"
    dined on 15/03/2014
  • "This was fantastic. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Easily the best in clapham"
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "The residents of claphan are v lucky to have Trinity on their doorstep. With food and service that rivals nearby Michelin starred chez Bruce. We will be back"
    dined on 08/03/2014
  • "Faultless from start to finish. I eat out regularly at some of the most well known restaurants in London, and this was one of the most memorable meals I have had for among time. I think is could easily be classed as the best neighbourhood restaunt, but that is perhaps putting it down as it competes with any of the more high profile establishments in Central London."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "Familiarity can sometimes breed contempt, but not when it comes to a good restaurant. Trinity continue to perform at a high level, & it remains a surprise why a Michelin star has not been awarded. Maybe not quite at the level of Chez Bruce (its local competition), but certainly (in my opinion) an equal to Wild Honey, Arbutus & a few others. The set-up, service & atmosphere are all of a high level. The Sunday lunch set menu is competitively priced. So the food: keep some room for 2-3 rounds of the speciality bread - from a very old yeast grown in the kitchen. This fish soup is extremely fishy!served with a fun gruyere puff. The roast beef is a classic, although the bone marrow an acquired taste. The black forest is the way to finish."
    dined on 23/02/2014
  • "It was my husbands birthday and we went on a Monday night which isn't the best night of the week to be out. Having said that we had a fantastic night, food was excellent, service was excellent and atmosphere just right."
    dined on 24/02/2014
  • "Delicious birthday dinner. Great attention to detail both in terms of food presentation and quality of service. Will be going back."
    dined on 07/09/2013
  • "Excellent Sunday lunch. Food and service were impeccable. Don't be put off by the pavement works outside, climb over things to get there, it's a great place."
    dined on 23/02/2014
  • "We had an excellent family Saturday lunch at Trinity in Old Clapham. This really is a very good restaurant and deserves more accolades than it gets. The food is seasonal, light and beautifully executed, supported by a really interesting wine list and very good service. The variation on the long-term favourite pig's trotters with sauce gribiche is innovative and very tasty; there are some excellent meat and fish options (from seared tuna to some very good roast halibut with cauliflower and cockles) followed by some outstanding and seasonal desserts. A truly exceptional experience."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "I was looking forward to trying Trinity after reading lots of excellent reviews. I had two courses from the set lunch menu and I wasn't blown away. There was only two choices per course for the set lunch which was limited. The bread was excellent. The salmon starter didn't blow me away whereas the main course of cod was very good. There is a good selection of wines by the glass. We finished with tea and coffee followed by complementary mini macaroons. The restaurant is very pleasant. However, compared to other set lunches I have enjoyed at a similar price point, this didn't match up. If you live in Clapham this is a good restaurant to have in the area but I wouldn't travel back again to go there."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "Really delicious food with great service and the three courses for £27pp was outstanding value"
    dined on 19/02/2014
  • "I took my girlfriend here for a surprise birthday meal and it was fantastic. The food, service, ambience was all outstanding. A perfect evening."
    dined on 21/06/2013
  • "We had the £27 special deal (3 courses and a bellini) and the food was amazing, the deserts being the highlight and I'm not normally a desert fan. And the service was fantastic, friendly, perfectly timed and really added to a great night. I am looking forward to retuning and trying the full a la carte menu now."
    dined on 19/02/2014
  • "The set menu is a fantastic offer - cheaper for 3 courses & a cocktail than some individual mains! The food as always was of excellent quality & some courses, quite inventive. Service as always, spot on."
    dined on 19/02/2014
  • "The whole experience of dining at Trinity was fantastic. My biggest praise for this restaurant would be the service. Our waitor was great, very friendly and not at all snobby which we've found with other restaurants."
    dined on 18/02/2014
  • "We had booked the three courses for £27 as a Valentines treat. However, when we got to Trinity we decided that the taster menu, plus wine flight was too good to miss. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing, we especially enjoyed the fish dishes, the homemade aero with raspberry dust was another highlight. The service was fantastic, friendly and informative. We would definitely return."
    dined on 13/02/2014
  • "Absolutely fantastic meal. One of the best we have ever had. The food and service were brilliant."
    dined on 18/02/2014
  • "Trinity is one of those hidden gems in Clapham that I just can't get enough of. We went for the toptable offer this time which was excellent value for money. At £27 for three courses and a glass of bubbly, they didn't hold back on all the little extras: nibbles, bread rolls, after dinner macaroons and even extra dessert! My only reservation was that there were only two choices per course - a little restrictive but then again it was a great offer. The restaurant is usually busy when we go so there is a buzzy atmosphere but try and avoid sitting near the toilets. Overall, a fantastic dining experience as always."
    dined on 12/02/2014
  • "I had not been to Trinity before but used to frequently visit Polygon, its predecessor. Everything was superb from the welcome to the service;, the food; presentation of dishes; etc: Would definitely return: very very good"
    dined on 13/02/2014
  • "We enjoyed our experience at Trinity, amazing service and attention to detail. Very reasonably priced tasting menu, and would recommend to anyone."
    dined on 05/02/2014
  • "We had a lovely meal, but it was marred slightly by a long wait at the end of the meal to get coffee and pay! The food and service were excellent, but the restaurant appeared to be suffering from being over-booked - there were a large number of people waiting for tables."
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "Trinity never fails to deliver. We went for the tasting menu, with a couple of extra courses thrown in (some amazing pig trotters), all of which were delicious. The accompanying flight of drinks was expertly matched, with a non-fortified PX being the highlight. As usual, we left well fed and watered and eager to return. Probably our favourite restaurant (definitely top 2) in this neck of the woods."
    dined on 13/02/2014
  • "The restaurant is quite ordinary inside, nothing interesting to look at. You go there for the food. We had the taster menu, £29 for three dishes, which was delicious, although the portions were small. The waiter misunderstood my order, so that my partner had finished her main course before mine had arrived, but it was worth the wait. Al la carte would have been really expensive by my standards."
    dined on 12/02/2014
  • "Tasty food, well cooked, lovely atmosphere, excellent staff, interesting wines."
    dined on 12/02/2014
  • "Awesome food, outstanding service, great restaurant!!"
    dined on 31/01/2014
  • "We had the top table 3 courses for £27 with a Bellini which was fantastic value. Although we only had two options from each course the food was very high quality and beautifully presented, we were very pleased. On top of the 3 courses we got lovely little extras like extra Madelines to go with our desert and some gorgeous macaroons to finish. The staff were lovely without being over bearing. Overall we had a great meal and would highly recommend."
    dined on 13/02/2014
  • "Having not been to Trinity for some time; we returned with high hopes & were not disappointed. The restaurant is a balance of modern (light, airy & open) and classic (sombre colours & white table cloths) styles, & when the outside area is fully renovated by the Council, will be situated in a stylish setting within Clapham. The £32 Sunday set menu has returned (hurrah) with fewer, but still excellent choices. A tasty olive and cheese stick to start, followed by the outstanding warm milk rolls served with a rich butter. The terrine of pheasant and celeriac is fulsome, served with rich prunes (not enough) and a rye toast. The pork belly is excellent, but fatty. The aged beef is the classic, & both well accompanied. Many wins by the glass."
    dined on 09/02/2014
  • "Brilliant food and wonderful service. Had a lovely evening."
    dined on 12/02/2014
  • "We enjoyed the toptable 3 course menu for £27, and appreciated the extra touches. The meringue pudding was the biggest disappointment but the starters and mains were delicious"
    dined on 13/02/2014
  • "My husband and I enjoyed a gracious evening at Trinity. We dine here about 3-4 times per year and despite not having been for several months, our server recognised us and we felt like special guests. The special offer was great and the wines by the glass superb."
