  • "My wife and I had dinner here on Valentine's weekend. She ordered the venison and I the lamb neck, both with he intention of sharing some of each. However we each enjoyed our entrees so much that we only had a bite of the others. Both were delicious. The side dishes were really well done too. Broccoli with mustard seeds was a great taste combination. The deserts weren't our favorites...chocolate better than rhubarb one, but overall we both really enjoyed the dining experience."

  • "This is a lovely restaurant with good food and choice of wines. We were happy with everything we ate, the reason not to give 5 is that nothing particularly stood out. The service was good, although towards the end of the night the staff seemed to disappear and we had to get up and look for them when we wanted to pay the bill. The ambience is good, it's a pub style but quite special so good for many different occasions."

Booking for Thomas Cubitt was so easy even I was amazed. They send you two confirmation emails - brilliant. Thomas Cubritt itself was the 'almost' perfect setting for a romantic Christmas Eve dinner for my wife and myself. Very good food and service. We will be definitely going again. Oh ... What would have made it 'perfect' would have been a fire in the 'working' fire place. That would have been sublime ambiance. We passed it on so hopefully other guests will now benefit."

  • "Two friends, one from Paris and the other from Sussex, and myself had a wonderful reunion dinner at Thomas Cubitt. The food was fantastic and the service professional without being stuffy. The scallops to start were done to perfection, my friends enjoyed British Castle Mey steaks and I had salmon. The puddings were fantastic with a peanut brittle and ice cream sharing a plate with chocolate fondant! The best things about the restaurant upstairs is that the rooms are quiet; you can actually have a conversation with your guests which is so unusual in London with wooden floors and plasterboard. Nothing flimsy about the Thomas Cubitt. It is fine dining in a properly appointed dining room."

  • "I booked Thomas Cubitt to show off the best of British food for some visitors. And it was very disappointing. The Sunday roast was dry and over cooked, Yorkshire pudding burnt. And a very dull dessert menu. The wine list was not only over priced but very young, I struggled to find any decent bottle to order. It's not what I recalled, the quality of food has went down. I much rather go somewhere else for the price I paid, it's not competitive for the London dining scene with this quality of food and wine."

  • "I took my client to the TC as an alternative to going into central London. We were not disappointed at all by the diversion. Great buzz downstairs for drinks and then a civilised table upstairs. Super food, good portions, absolutely delicious. Service was understated and rather excellent. For the quality of food and service we had the £100 per head was very well spent. We were the last to leave!"

  • "met 2 business colleagues for lunch. We had table d'hôte menu at £19.50 for 2 courses. The food was delicious but the portions were tiny. I am a regular user of the Cubitt espec for sunday lunch. When we have eaten lunch here a la carte the portions have always been of normal size. I guess if you do the table d'hôte you have to expect smaller portions for the cost? I didn't mind but my male colleagues were still hungry!!!! The food is always of excellent quality but I get annoyed at the cost of the sides. Maybe they should think about changing their pricing structure and including at least one portion of vegetables."

  • "I like going to the the Thomas Cubitt. Very nicely appointed dining rooms, inventive locally sourced and proud of it menu, and good delivery on the food. Scallop starter was skimpy on the scallops but nicely cooked, lamb was perfectly cooked and even the lamb tongue was good. Guests were happy with their mains, too. Desserts nicely done. Service was spotty and a bit pushy--is it only me or does everyone get annoyed when the waiter interrupts the conversation to announce that they need something? But the maitre d', who was helping with the service, made up for it -- he was a real charmer."
