We went for the three course option, which comes in at a respectable £ 60 per head (not bad for Central London), which quickly became six courses as they brought "extras" in between the "mains", plus what can only be described as a Tequila Slush Puppy. The food was absolutely fanstastic and the staff were very attentive and friendly.

The restaurant was a little quiet only 15 guests on a Sat evening,but that was nice for us as we were able to chat and catch up without interuption.
The food is very good quality quite foody but really delicious, our only criticism is that it could have been a bit hotter, but presentation was superb.
Service was warm and friendly witout being intrusive.

Goat’s cheese flan, variations of beetroot, celery sorbet
Sweet potato fondant, puree, spinach & ricotta samosa, korma spices
Rhubarb and custard: Ginger crumble, sorbet, bourbon vanilla
With added amuse bouche of brocolli soup.
All of the above courses tasted even better than they sound (with special mention to the soup) and all paired wonderfully with the selected wines.

Food was truly delicious, beautiful amuse bouche, and perfect cooking of other dishes. Only 3 choices on set menu, but that forces you to choose new dishes, mackerel starter and pork main course were excellent. Service was great, formal but friendly. Only downside was there were only 2 tables occupied , can't understand why, get down there, perfect for business lunches and for a catch up lunch.

The service is particularly attentive, welcoming and considerate. This makes it a joy to visit. The menu is highly enjoyable. You should be aware that the dining room is not large and, being in the basement, there are no views of London. Solid starters and amuse bouche were followed up with a mind-blowingly good Venison and Suet Pudding main for myself and a vegetarian dish for the birthday girl Mrs A. Followed in with two deserts - the highlight being the "deconstructed" Tiramasu, and petits fours served on a chilled platter with the words "Happy Birthday" stencilled in chocolate sauce !

But we feel the restaurant met our expectations excellently. After the starter we had another surprise course, accompanied by good portions of excellent meat (venison for my wife, and rib-eye steak for me). I had a beautifully cooked mackerel with eel slices, and quail eggs cooked to perfection. For main i had a deconstructed chicken pie. The small pearls of sage and onion sauce were delicate. There were two succulent chicken breasts, an oval shaped pastry filled with leg meat, miniscule leeks, dainty onion rings and little potatoes. The service was super and a small tray of apple and toffee macaroons were washed down with the last of the pear flavoured prosecco. The resturant makes you feel like your wanted and that the staff have time for you with it being of a nice size.I found that other places when its too big they seem only under the pressure with other tables and people...and less time to pay you any attention.I didn't find this here.
