Theo Randall at the InterContinentalFantasticHad a wonderful evening at Theo Randall's restaurant. Amazing food and even better value, with Top Table's offer. As the meal progressed, so too did our service, having gotten off on a (very!) slightly rocky edge. But all was perfectly fine. The food was delicious, and so too the wine, perfectly paired with the food. The venue was slightly too minimalistic for my personal taste, but all very beautifully decorated. Glad to see that Theo was also in the house, but it was a shame that we were told, after our bill arrived, that should we have liked to meet Theo, we could just ask and he would gladly pop out to say hello. Perhaps next time.08/05/2013 00:00:00Consistently goodThis is my third visit to Theo Randall and again it didn't disappoint. The set menu hasn't really varied over the last 6months, although the dishes have changed slightly and are still really tasty. I do think I'll wait a bit to go back as I've now tried all the ones I like! The one thing I would say is that with the £27 set menu you now don't get dessert, there is now a 3 course set menu for £33. Not a massive issue really, but it was a nice touch to get the 3 courses for £27! Staff excellent as usual.30/04/2013 00:00:00Went to Theo Randall for myWent to Theo Randall for my husband's birthday with a group of friends.
We went for the Set Menu which I think is amazing value - they have a good variety of dishes on the Set Menu and have definitely not scrimped on the quality or quantity of the dishes.
I tried the guinea fowl which was beautifully seasoned and the risotto which was absolutely delicious. The quantity of the dishes is quite substantial so I was feeling quite full towards the middle of the main course. Theo Randall came over to see the diners, and it was lovely to see him.
The ambience of the restaurant is great and the service is attentive, cheery and generally good.
Highly recommended for special occassions!27/04/2013 00:00:00A CHEF THAT DELIVERS VALUE NOT HYPEThis is one of the best to table meals I have had. I eat a fair amount of Italian food but am seldom impressed. Theo Randell prepares great food- creative, tasty, fresh and in generous quantities. You do not mind spending more because you know you will get good value27/04/2013 00:00:00RecommendedThere were 5 of us and we all had the 5 course tasting menu with wine. This set us back around £100 each, but it was well worth it. We arrived at 8pm and the evening lasted until just before midnight! Each course was about the size of a starter you would get in most restaurants - i was expecting smaller sizes, as is usually the case from top class tasting menus - so it was a pleasant surprise for a greedy hungry man such as myself. We also got a rhubard martini to start, that was really tasty! The sommelier was excellent, giving us a load of info about each wine we had. I would definitely return.26/04/2013 00:00:00Top chefWhen dining at a restaurant whose head chef is somewhat of a celebrity I never really expect them to be there, however we were pleasantly surprised by a table visit from head chef Theo Randall when dining at his restaurant in the Intercontinental. Unlike many other hotel restaurants this has a pleasantly buzzy atmosphere with outstanding food.
The focaccia was like eating a cloud! The lemon tart was amazing and the dishes in between were also really tasty! Would definitely recommend it anyone who loves Italian food, and using the Toptable offer it was also really good value!26/04/2013 00:00:00This was my third time visitingThis was my third time visiting Theo Randall and as always the food and service was excellent. The consistency this restaurant manages to maintain is fantastic. We celebrated my Dad's birthday here and were very much made a fuss off with an array of desserts to share and had the pleasure of meeting Theo.
The food it superb I cannot fault any of the dishes that we dined on. I have eaten from both the a la carte and set menu here and both offer great dishes. The set menu is excellent value for money.
A fantastic evening and I will undoubtedly be back very soon. Highly recommended if you want to dine in a restaurant that isn't pretentious and delivers 100% on food and service.25/04/2013 00:00:00Theo RandallI was really impressed with this restaurant. The portions were large and the food very impressive. The set menu deal which also included an optional add on of matching wines was fantastic. I will be returning and would happily recommend this restaurant.20/04/2013 00:00:00Great foodand very impressive wine pairings to go with the tasting menu.06/04/2013 00:00:00Great price, easy atmosphereWent for the 2-course top table option with the set menu, but the great thing about the restaurant is the flexibility in choosing from either the set menu or the a la carte menu (paying the a la carte price per item of course) and still receiving the complementary Proseco and dessert platter to share. Food is lovely, well-presented, without giving the impression of trying too hard that unfortunately pervades many a london establishment these days. Well done Theo Randall!30/03/2013 00:00:00GREAT FOOD AND SERVICEThis was our second visit to Theo Randalls and it was as good as the first, good choice from the set menu and the food was sublime. The guinea fowl in particular is recommended. It was a nice touch for Theo to visit our table in person!29/03/2013 00:00:00A definite must!Great food and lovely atmosphere. The toptable offer is just another reason to go to this restaurant!27/03/2013 00:00:00ANOTHER EXCELLENT MEALThis was our fourth visit to this excellent restaurant - located within the Inter-Continental Hotel on Hyde Park Corner. We always think that it can't get better - but it does! Friendly welcome, superb service and great food. We'll be back!23/03/2013 00:00:00visit to Theo randallI booked the deal for a girls get together on Sat night & was not disappointed. We had yummy cocktails in the bar & bwere not rushed to our table or at any point during the evening. The salad of goats cheese was tasty & 2 of my fellow diners who didnt like goats cheese were offered parmesan as an alternative with no fuss (which can be rare!) The pasta was ok but not mind blowing & the shared dessert platter was offered with a requested delay (we were too full) . The service was really good & any questions or requests were dealt with in a friendly & non intimidating manner. The evening was made all the better as we saw baking legend Mary Berry!!!! I'd definitely recommend Theo Randall & I thought the deal was amazing value.23/03/2013 00:00:00Just what we were looking for!We always go to London for a special evening for Birthdays and have tried a number of Michelin starred restaurants. They are all lovely but I have found sometimes the food is just too rich and my body disagrees with it, so I thought Italian, you cant go wrong. This was perfect. We had the 5 course tasting menu which was fantastic - wonderful flavours, not too rich, and along with the matching wines, it was great. Both the tasting menu and wine were great value and we were given a fantastic explanantion of each wine by the sommelier. Theo Randall even came to say hello which was lovely. Would certianly recommend (already have) and certainly return in the future. Thank you!16/03/2013 00:00:00Absolutely Top NotchWe had booked several weeks ago to celebrate another of my '0' birthday's - part of a 'luxury w/e trip' to London.
The service was excellent, as also was the food; the Sommelier Yuri was very helpful, especially after I mentioned I used to import Italian wines into the UK.
The Rombo al Forno (Turbot) was really good and I would definitely recommend that to pescatarians.
The wine list is very well chosen and Yuri guided me to try an Italian wine new to me - the Torrione from Petrolo - which was excellent.
The staff are all very courteous and efficient - but there is a certain informality as well which is very nice,
This restaurant is for special occasions - and I would definitely return again when celebrating another occasion in London.16/03/2013 00:00:00highly reccomendLast week was our second visit to this restaurant. We visited before Christmas with some friends who had booked through Toptable and the deal was very good value. Every course was delicious and well presented. The staff were attentive but not annoying like at some restaurants when they are cleaning up after you before you've even put your fork down. We weren't treated any different because we had booked though the offer. In fact we were very well looked after. We enjoyed it so much we went again last week with another couple, and once again the food, the ambience and the staff didn't let us down.
They have a good vegetarian choice too. My one tip would be - make sure you save space for dessert, its delicious.13/03/2013 00:00:00Perfect for weekday lunchThis was our annual 'day in town' and the 2nd year we've booked Theo's. Great food, great service and the man himself in the room. Can't ask for more. We'll be re-booking for next year.12/03/2013 00:00:00excellent top table deal!what a wonderful place - great food; fabulous service and excellent value on the top-table deal. only slight comment would be that the portion sizes are huge - so go hungry! thank you!12/03/2013 00:00:00Terrific value, fab food!I must admit we've been to Theo Randall at the Interconti before and loved it then, so it was almost automatic to look for a deal there this time. And oh, so not disappointed! 2 courses and a glass of Prosecco for £27. An amazing offer, not least because, unlike most fine dining restaurants, the courses are very generous. You can choose 2 courses from either Antipasti, Primo or Secondo: we went for the 2 latter. Beef carpaccio, followed by guinea fowl, but in addition, there's a complimentary dessert to share - in our case, a little slice of lemon torte, chocolate torte and vanilla ice cream, with delicate little dollops of vanilla cream and creme fraiche.
I can't recommend this place enough. Go, go, go!08/03/2013 00:00:00FantasticThis was my second visit to Theo Randall and I wasn't disappointed. Fabulous food and great service. Would thoroughly recommend.07/03/2013 00:00:00Business LunchExcellent value and a great venue for a business lunch.06/03/2013 00:00:00Lovely EveningWe booked the offer on Toptable for a 2-course dinner with glass of prosecco followed by a sharing dessert platter, all for £27 per person. My companion and I both chose pasta for our first course - these were possibly the best pasta dishes we have ever had - simply delicious! Next was guinea fowl for main course - large portion and beautifully-presented but a little disappointing on taste... The desserts were fabulous and service was friendly and attentive. Altogether a fantastic evening and great value for money. Cannot recommend highly enough!05/03/2013 00:00:00The fish from the a la carteThe fish from the a la carte menu was beautiful. Perfectly cooked and presented. The service, whilst very pleasant, wasn't as professionally sharp as one would expect from a restaurant of this calibre. However the food was wonderful.01/03/2013 00:00:00Definitely a great view ofDefinitely a great view of London and great service and also good food too.27/02/2013 00:00:00Romantic meal for 2Theo Randalls was absolutely awesome. The food was gorgeous, even the breads were delicious and still warm. The two courses, glass of prosecco and trio of desserts were outstanding value. I can't recommend this place enough. I let them know it was my other half's birthday and they even piped a birthday message in chocolate on the dessert platter. The food was rich, indulgent and excellently presented... I highly recommend this restaurant!27/02/2013 00:00:00Wonderful ItalianIt's quite unusual to combine wonderful friendly service with such great food. The lunch time offer is really good value - but even so the dining room was three quarters empty. But no complaints at all. Fantastic Italian food, and don't miss the bread.....22/02/2013 00:00:00Birthday treatI took my mum here for her birthday meal and it was lovely! Great food! Amazing service! And some great top table freebies!
The food really was delicious and the portions were generous. A great evening. Must go back again!22/02/2013 00:00:00Lovely evening and even gotLovely evening and even got the chance to meet Theo who talked us through the night's menu.22/02/2013 00:00:00Great food, but the portionsGreat food, but the portions are a bit too big, so it was a struggle to finish the meal.
The three course tasting menu was enough for two people to share! That said, the menu offered really good value for money - it's nice to see a deal advertised on TopTable that's actually exclusive to TopTable (saved £6+ off the normal 3 course menu, which was great).
Definitely a place to try...everyone in the dining room seemed to be enjoying themselves, and I did enjoy the food.21/02/2013 00:00:00Fantastic value with TT offerWe used the toptable 27 pound offer and it was just tremendous value with such good food, ambience and settings. Will go back for sure!21/02/2013 00:00:00lovely italian cuisineWe had the evening standard set menu. The menu was relatively extensive considering and had good sized portions. we were too full for dessert! service was excellent. i have noticed that people didnt like the atmosphere but with good company I didnt see the problem.18/02/2013 00:00:00Theo RandallHave been here several times and it never fails to impress. Mr Randall was very much evident in the kitchen and came into the restaurant. Can't fault anything and it is particularly great value on the top table offer. We went before 7pm and even got a free dessert platter included in the price as well as a glass of proseco. Great deal and they remembered that I had said it was our Anniversary so when the platter came it had a lovely message for us on it.13/02/2013 00:00:00Great Food, Service & Value!Birthday meal with friends was very enjoyable and relaxed - our lovely waitress overheard it was my birthday and had our desserts with a candle and a Happy Birthday message written in chocolate which was sweet.
Very good value on the Top Table deal of 2 courses, a shared dessert & a glass of Prosceco for £35. Very large portions but very tasty and delicious fresh pasta and amazing lamb. The shared desserts were very tasty, especially the chocolate cake and the semi-freddo. Even the foccacia and bruchetta was delicious!
Definitely go back so would recommend!12/02/2013 00:00:00Didn't DisappointThis was a restaurant I've wanted to go to for a while and it exceeded expectations. The food was delicous, the service prompt without being overbearing and the TopTable deal was excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend.12/02/2013 00:00:00Fantastic food and serviceFantastic food and service and great value for money when booked via toptable. Have already booked to go again.12/02/2013 00:00:00Very enjoyable mealWe booked the offer through top table for three courses and a glass of prosecco for £33 which was good value; you could choose either a starter or a primi platti as one of your courses. All the food was of a very good quality and a reasonable portion size. There were about 4/5 choices for each course except the dessert which is a very good sharing plate of a mix of desserts. The service was excellent and the setting is good although a little austere - we didn't feel there was a huge amount of atmosphere. Overall we were very pleased with the meal and the price was OK for the quality and central London location. The only criticism is the ambiance and the menu selection in that it wasn't as exciting as we expected from a Theo Randall.09/02/2013 00:00:00Perfect for an intimate dinnerWe used a Toptable offer for a dinner for two in March 2012. Everything about the restaurant is outstanding. From welcome, drinks at the bar to the service and of course the food itself. We love Italian food and we were not disappointed, simple well cooked/presented items. Leave space for dessert .... wonderful. We recommend a cocktail at the bar to start.09/02/2013 00:00:00Splendid!First visit, superb experience! Food is outstanding but don't forget to eat the bread offered, which is lovely, as you may leave hungry after eating the set menu.09/02/2013 00:00:00Theo RandallFinally, a set menu worth eating! Theo Randall offered an excellent selection of courses. The food was tasty and the portion sizes were generous. The staff was attentive but not too pushy. Would recommend.08/02/2013 00:00:00Great value......with a dealWe went to Theo Randall's with a " 2 courses, a glass of prosecco and a pudding" voucher. I was impressed that we were able to book a table for any time (i.e. not an early-bird table) and on a Fri evening. The food was excellent and the menu to select from wasn't at all limited. We took the wine package - a glass of red and a glass of white for an additional £10, which worked out very good value. I cannot fault the service we received, it was of a very high standard and the ambience of the restuatrant was perfect for a giry catch-up dinner. Our evening was great, and I felt very good value.....although having looked at the a la carte menu and the wine list, I think without the deal voucher this would be an expensive restaurant to visit.08/02/2013 00:00:00excellent valueOnce again we took advantage of TT offer and were not disappointed. It would be nice if the choices on offer were changed periodically however this is a very minor criticism.07/02/2013 00:00:00superb lunchCannot praise the food highly enough. Everything was absolutely delicious, and very generous helpings.
Service was slightly slow, but when we said we had a train to catch, and had to leave in 10 minutes, desert and the bill came immediately.
Highly recommended.07/02/2013 00:00:00Excellent Dining ExperienceGreat night out with impeccable service and ambiance. Looking forward to returning to sample some of the other dishes.07/02/2013 00:00:00A wonderful eveningWe have been coming to this restaurant over the last few years and have always enjoyed our meal. It was nice to see a different menu on the Top Table offer. Portions were very generous so could not finish the desert on offer.
We will be back!05/02/2013 00:00:00We booked the top table setWe booked the top table set menu offer which is very good value and there are quite a few choices of dishes to choose from. Food here is always made from great, fresh ingredients - straightforward but tasty and interesting at the same time. Great service and ambience also.02/02/2013 00:00:00OutstandingThere is no two ways about it. You MUST go to Theo Randell and get spoilt, pampered and overindulged. The food is great but it is the service that sparkles. There is enough food to keep you quiet for a week at least and the quality is great. This is somewhere to come at any time, but particularly when you've had a hard week or just need something a little bit special02/02/2013 00:00:00something specialThoroughly recommend for all round pleasurable experience. Food cooked to perfection. Pleasant surroundings and staff.31/01/2013 00:00:00GREAT SERVICE - GREAT VALUEHad lunch at the restaurant - excellent! Friendly welcome, great service, exceptional food and, (thanks to toptable) great value. We were made to feel that our visit was appreciated - perhaps not what you might expect from a celebrity chef restaurant in a top London Park Lane Hotel. The decor is maybe a little dated, but the restaurant is being refurbished in the near future. We'll certainly be back!29/01/2013 16:00:00Fantastic!I went with a friend and we couldn't fault it. Lovely surrounds smart but not stuffy. Friendly, attentive service. Delicious food.28/01/2013 16:00:00
