The VineyardSaturday LunchThis was our second visit in 2 weeks both for lunch on a Saturday on the first visit it was friends and we used the walking maps provided on the website to have a pre lunch walk which built up our appetites for the ample food, the second was a family do .
Menu is not large but varied with dishes from Fish and chips in an excellent beer batter to Guinea Fowl and a vegetarian Rissotto, decent wine list plus good ale selection.
The service by mostly east european staff was friendly without being intrusive , we sat in the new restaurant area with the big windows which has a more contemporary feel than the bar (you choose which you prefer)
Prices are good for the level of service and quality of the food provided, we will be going again.15/06/2013 00:00:00Birthday delightA brilliant venue for our group of 9, celebrating 4 birthdays. Service was very friendly and efficient; the staff decorated the birthday girls' desserts with candles and sang "happy birthday" as a surprise for us all, which made the evening even more fun. Food was delicious with a really good range of choices on the menu plus specials. Everyone though it was one of the best restaurants we've been to. Highly recommended!14/06/2013 00:00:00Good foodWe went as a party of 4 to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent and very filling. The staff were very good and even put a candle in my wife's pudding and sung happy birthday to her.
The only down side was the area we ate in was a bit to much noise and was difficult to hold a conversation14/06/2013 00:00:00A Real Find! What a treatWith friends coming to stay for a weekend and a visit to Scotney Castle anticipated, I combed the Lamberhurst Village website for local pubs/ restaurants to book lunch. The Vineyard fitted the bill. This was our first visit. We were very impressed and will definitely eat there again. Excellent menu, food beautifully prepared, extremely tasty ( the BEST garlic bread I have tasted in years!) and friendly professional staff. The building has been meticulously refurbished and the patio and garden will be wonderful to use if the British Summer ever arrives!08/06/2013 00:00:00Very enjoyable meal. GreatVery enjoyable meal. Great for a family Sunday lunch. Staff very friendly and attentive, very good with the children. Plenty of parking. We will definitely be going again.02/06/2013 00:00:00Relaxed eveningAnother visit to the Vineyard without disappointment.
The food was excellent... We didn't feel rushed along even though we were the last people to leave the restaurant due to a late comer to our party! The staff were attentive and friendly without being over bearing. We have returned to the Vineyard on several occasions now and have always felt welcome and left feeling contentedly full of good food and wine.02/06/2013 00:00:00Meals at The Vineyard areMeals at The Vineyard are always excellent with plenty of locally sourced produce. Staff are very professional and friendly. We have eaten at all the Elite pubs and all are of the same high standard.25/05/2013 00:00:00The Vineyardfantastic food, friendly attentive staff and service, lovely venue
We had been to the vineyard before but this was the first time since the new dinning area was opened, It has been tastefully decorated and and comfortably furnished and really complements the existing building.
On arrival the staff were very welcoming and curtious and during the meal attentive but not intrusive.
The Vineyard is in a great location and in easy reach of the area's most popular places to vist.
All in all 10 out of 1025/05/2013 00:00:00ambienceLike that I can drink and order my food at the bar and just get told when the first course is ready :)23/05/2013 00:00:00Excellent food and friendly serviceMy first visit with friends. We normally visit the sister pub the Great House but decided to give the Vineyard a try and we were not disappointed - excellent food and service and some good beers on tap.22/05/2013 00:00:00A proper Sunday roastThis is the first time that I had been to The Vineyard and I was very impressed. We went for Sunday lunch and the restaurant was full. The service was excellent though and the bar staff particularly efficient. My 2 year old daughter with us and the staff made sure that she was catered for as well if not better than the adults.
We were spoilt for choice with the menu but had decided that a Sunday roast was the order of the day. I went for the Sunday indulgence - a great mix of all the meats on offer, sirloin of beef, kentish leg of lamb and loin of pork. It came with fabulous homemade yorkshire puddings and lashings of gravy. It was as good as having a roast at home, without all the washing up at the end! I'd highly recommend a visit.12/05/2013 00:00:00Birthday LunchIt was my first visit- on recommendation and because I am a fan of the greathouse at hawkhurst.
It has been very well done up. The ambience is nice- though i am not keen on the skins/furs on the chairs!! Lovely large oputside and garden area and lots of room inside too. very attentive service and excellent food. scallops were yummy and good- not chewy as can be the case when badly cooked. My steak was excellent and the chips were good too!
It was a lunchtime after the bankholiday so not many people there- more may help the atmosphere. I understand the bankHoliday had been very busy with over 300 people! I would have no hesitation in recommending it for lunch or dinner and plan to go there with friends for dinner again soon!.07/05/2013 00:00:00Sunday LunchWe had a very nice Sunday Lunch with my Husband and daughter, very nice pub in the middle of the Kent countryside with to me that old country pub feel, which is missing a lot these days, the food was very nice and service was outstanding,05/05/2013 00:00:00BIRTHDAY LUNCHStaff very welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. Lovely restaurant in a great location - just right for a special birthday lunch.24/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent gastro pubFab food and service - much like it's sister pub (The Great House)20/04/2013 00:00:00Interesting menu. Better thanInteresting menu. Better than many pubs. We will return.18/04/2013 00:00:00Great lunchOnce again, an excellent lunch at the Vineyard. Highly recommended.07/04/2013 00:00:00A favourite with the family.A favourite with the family. Delicious food and friendly staff.07/04/2013 00:00:00Lazy Sunday lunchI visited this pub/restaurant for the first time for Sunday lunch last weekend and had a great afternoon. It's a beautiful big old Kentish pub, very nicely laid out with a great atmosphere with wonderful outdoor spaces - must be fabulous in the summer.
My friend and I had roast lamb which was pretty good, except the meat was a bit tough (I am very fussy with meat!). The service was prompt and friendly and we stayed for five hours without a hint that we'd overstayed our welcome! I will definitely return, to try a non-red meat dish.07/04/2013 00:00:00Super atmosphere, food andSuper atmosphere, food and service. Will definitely be back!31/03/2013 00:00:00An Easter Sunday treatWarm and relaxed, just what was needed on a cold Easter Sunday. Met friends for an excellent roast lunch, that felt like being at home with the added bonus of someone bringing delicious food on cue. Not rushed at all and we were chatting madly. Olives bread and ham to start, roast lunch and very lovely sweets.31/03/2013 00:00:00Meal with friendsThe meal, the service and the ambience were suberb and absolutely faultless. We booked a table for four for 8:15, we sat down at 8:30. The table was quite small and in a busy walkway, one of our party had to move his chair each time the staff needed to get to other tables, it felt as if we had been squeezed on a table originally meant for 2. Apart from that small inconvenience we had a lovely evening.23/03/2013 00:00:00Great lunch with family -Great lunch with family - lovely food and excellent staff!16/03/2013 00:00:00Vineyard, Saturday lunchThanks to the vineyard, great food and service today. Would recommend this pub/restaurant on first impressions.16/03/2013 00:00:00A lovely characterful pubA lovely characterful pub with a busy, lively and friendly atmosphere, but good acoustics. Lovely food and a very good choice of wines.24/02/2013 00:00:00Dinner with friendsLovely meal in the charming dinning room. We enjoyed the food, seasonal and local and excellent Doombar beer.23/02/2013 00:00:00TOP TUCKER!!!We have now eaten at this warm, friendly restaurant many times. The food, whether it is a steak, game dish or seafood, is always amazing. The platters offered are very different from any other I have experienced, something to really write home about. Wines are priced sensibly and they have a very good choice of real ale. In all I would highly recommend The Vineyard at Lamberhurst, we will be back!!!10/02/2013 00:00:00Lovely friendly pubA lovely cosy place to eat. Friendly staff and a varied selection of food on the menu10/02/2013 00:00:00The Vineyard experienceWe enjoyed the cosy atmosphere. The slightly rustic decor adds to the feeling of sitting in someone's home, and the log fire added ambience.
The selection of dishes on the menu was quite varied and caters for all tastes. The dishes we ordered were well-prepared and were decently-sized portions.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a good meal in a relaxed atmosphere.27/01/2013 16:00:00Excellent ServiceWe received excellent service at the Vineyard especially as they had a large party in that night. The Food was great and a lovely atmosphere in a buzzing environment, no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.25/01/2013 16:00:00Mid winter specialhad an enjoyable lunch with good options at a reasonalbe price taking account of the discount during winter offer, good warm surroundings and polite and helpful staff and well prepared and presented food07/01/2013 16:00:00Our party of four very muchOur party of four very much enjoyed the occasion of lunch at The Vineyard. The decor makes this restaurant worth a visit in itself and the atmosphere was buzzy and fun. Three of us enjoyed our meal greatly - pheasant and lamb both delicious. Service was attentive. However, our vegetarian fourth diner was disappointed at the thin choice available to vegetarians and struggled to find choices that appealed. We will certainly go back again but hope that next time there will be a wider vegetarian choice.
We have no hesitation in recommending this super restaurant.31/12/2012 16:00:00
