  • "We asked for a table with a nice view and boy did we have a view! We felt like VIPs when we were taken to our seafront view table & it was like being seated on the beach. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. We opted for the lunch time set menu, very reasonable at £20 for three courses. The food was delicious and timed perfectly. Special mention goes to the kiwi roulade! This is the place to be for a special ambiance and I look forward to returning soon."

  • "Arrived for a 2.45 Sunday lunch booking at 2.35 and checked-in. Ordered a drink from the bar and waited to be seated. Seated at 2.55 only after prompting the maitre'd who had clearly forgotten us. Starters finally arrived 3.45, mains at 4.30! Vegetables overcooked, roast potatoes soggy not crisp. Clearly the kitchen could not cope with the number of customers being served."
    dined on 09/03/2014
  • "The set menu was very nice with excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and the Maitre De was very good and extremely welcoming. Will definitely be going again."

  • "We had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch. There was a large party arrived at about the same time us as and we were told there would be a short delay in serving food. However, this was minimal and we really didn't really notice it. The waiter was attentive, helpful and fun! It was a very enjoyable experience which will be repeated in the not too distant future!"
    dined on 09/02/2014
  • "I went with a friend for lunch in the restaurant we went for the healthy option and were really pleasantly surprised how nice it was, we had dessert but were a bit disappointed in this, The service was very good, the waitress we had couldn't do enough for us"
    dined on 07/02/2014
  • "had a lovely time at the Roslin and what a gorgeous view on a bright day! service was swift although there were some big tables having afternoon tea too so we waited tom pay the bill a while but apologies were given. the sandwiches were nice and fresh, just a shame they don't offer a veggie tartlet or just do a veggie one in the first place!! cakes were lovely and so were scones, tasted fresh and light. we were stuffed but you can ask for more at extra charge , i think. 10% service charge is added to the bill which i always think is a bit cheeky but would have left something anyway."
    dined on 02/02/2014
  • "A lovely happy upbeat vibe is what you will find here. Good food and service is smashing."
    dined on 25/01/2014

  • "We ate here for a Christmas/pre theatre dinner as a present to my sister and her fiancé. It was a very enjoyable experience."
    dined on 28/12/2013
  • "I took my friend for a birthday/christmas treat and it was just wonderful. We were welcomed with a smile and the staff couldnt do enough for us. The food was excellent as usual, chosen from the lunch menu, we had the lamb and it was so delicious. We had coffee in the lounge and the staff checked if we had enjoyed our meal and if there was anything else they could do for us. They were attentive and pleasant dispite being very busy. I love the Roslin its a wonderful place to go"
    dined on 17/12/2013
  • "The food was brilliant two points that kept it from a perfect score ! I booked for a table with estuary views and despite this I was told that only for large tables. This should have been explained earlier ! Also the service is over eager !! Watch from a distance don't check every 2 mins it gets annoying"
    dined on 13/12/2013
  • "This was the second occasion on which we have taken my mother to celebrate her birthday – 90th and 93rd. On both visits, the staff proved welcoming and gracious and nothing was too much trouble. A warm and friendly place to celebrate. And the food's pretty good too."
    dined on 01/12/2013
  • "The food at the Roslin is outstanding, I have been there several times now. It is a little pricey but as a special occasion restaurant or just a night out where you want fantastic food and service it's excellent."

  • "very nice late lunch, we like the fact luch is served up to 5pm, with a lovely view pleasant helpful staff and lovely food"
    dined on 20/10/2013
  • "The Roslin is a lovely hotel, tea is taken in the conservatory which has lovely views over the Thames Estuary. We were served by a charming waitress who provided excellent service. Our only gripe was the sandwich selection was very limited, if you don't like roast beef or smoked salmon you're not really catered for, however we did ask for an alternative and received cheese and tomato. The scones and cakes and mini savoury quiches were delicious. Will definitely be returning to The Roslin."
    dined on 09/10/2013
  • "Went here for Sunday lunch for my Birthday. Never been before & heard so much about it so thought it about time I gave it a go! Sat on a table not right next to the window but still had a good view of the sea! Maybe come back in the summer & sit outside for a drink and/or snack. Nice meal with a good choice except for me for dessert so had to pay extra for cheese & biscuits. Staff very attentive. Moved across to the lounge area afterwards to finish our drinks & watch the TV. Nice ambience. Will definitely be back!"
    dined on 06/10/2013
  • "The Selection of sandwiches was limited and it would be better if the guests could select the sandwich filings or pre order them rather than presume."
    dined on 04/10/2013

  • "I am a regular visitor here, especially in the summer when I can sit on the sun terrace overlooking the sea! I confidently bring friends and people here for their first visit, as the staff always strive to make it a great experience. The booking process, welcome, atmosphere, surroundings, service and of course the food and drink, all make it a really enjoyable visit and fantastic value for money. Highly recommended!"

  • "We visited the Roslin for my birthday meal, just my husband and I. This is the 3rd time we have been for dinner but have also been numerous times for lunch on the outside terrace and also a coffee after walking along the seafront. The ambiance is lovely and is relaxed but has an air of sophistication about it. The food was delicious and amazing as always and cooked to perfection. The staff are efficient and attentive and nothing is too much trouble."
    dined on 30/08/2013
  • "It was our wedding anniversary. Table booked several weeks before for 7.30pm on 25th August. Table in hottest part of restaurant against the wall next to the till. Only Sunday lunch menu available. No a la carte. No explanation given. Yorkshire pudding was leathery. Parsnips inedible. Meat was tender but £3.75 extra for rib roast unfair as was £8.60 for glass of house white. Will not eat there again."
    dined on 25/08/2013
  • "I come here to eat often and love the food and the Roslin hotel. It was very busy this time and so had to wait a long while Coe the food. But the staff are so lovely as is the food, I quickly forgot that. Usually it's not such a long wait."
    dined on 26/08/2013
  • "Always loved this hotel and restaurant but after my last experience not sure we will return in a hurry. Can't fault the food and the free children colouring sets but when my husband was served the wrong main meal we were made to feel like we were in the wrong. Obviously the "foreign" waiter had mis-heard my husband however he then proceed to make us feel like we were to blame rather than apologizing and bringing the correct food. i wouldn't have minded but they brought my husband the fish of the day and he doesn't even eat fish so there is no way we would have ordered it! Even when we paid at the end no apology was given."
    dined on 25/08/2013
