The Potting Shed Bar & RestaurantVery nice and cosy placeFound this restaurant by chance on the web - very nice atmosphere and decoration, excellent service and tasty modern British cuisine!10/05/2013 00:00:00Convivial breakfastHave stayed in hotel and waten here before but this time just visited for breakfast with 2 friends
Lovely staff and good, no rush atmosphere.
Long breakfast that meandered into a coffee break before leaving.
Food well made and presented, couldn't fault it09/05/2013 00:00:00Great Sunday roastExcellent food with good wine selection. Service was friendly and effecient. Decor is great, well designed and comfortable.05/05/2013 00:00:00Outstanding steak and wineOutstanding steak and wine on the £19.50 offer. Best chunk of cow for a very long time!05/05/2013 00:00:00delicious hidden gemWent to this restaurant on a Top Table deal and it was well rated on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. It's a bit off the beaten track but in a lovely area and once inside, the decor and general ambience is very tasteful and welcoming. The only thing that let the ambience down was that it was very quiet but it was Sunday night on a bank holiday. The food and wine was absolutely delicious. We went on the Cote de bouef and glass of red deal @ £19.50 and it was definitely well worth it. I also went for the lemon tart with raspberries for dessert which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and polite but also left you on your own to enjoy your food. I would definitely visit again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant.05/05/2013 00:00:00Very friendly, verging onVery friendly, verging on the over-solicitous. Very good food, if a little pricey. We shall definitely return. They dealt with my wife's coeliac requirements extremely well.12/04/2013 00:00:00Very good Quality food, beutifullyVery good Quality food, beutifully cooked and excellent service26/03/2013 00:00:00Great afternoonA must visit if you like afternoon tea will be going back to try Lunch very soon.19/03/2013 00:00:00amazing atmosphere, great foodIt's hard to find treat British food without spending a fortune but the putting shed stroked a great balance between the two. Cute cricket-inspired decor and a great looking menu means that there is plenty to enjoy at the table16/03/2013 00:00:00Potting ShedThis is a great little place with a cool cricket theme. Much thought has been put into the decor which makes it a lovely place to go. We went on the toptable deal which was excellent value for a steak and glass of wine. Very good. Will be back.15/03/2013 00:00:00A great way to end a day in LondonThe welcoming, well-trained staff, good value food, imaginative ambience and proximity to Marylebone station make this an excellent way to round off a day out in London. Wine list is pricey though!12/03/2013 00:00:00A special treatI took my Mum to the potting shed for a belated Morher's Day afternoon tea treat and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The service and the food were outstanding and the restaurant has been decorated to a really high standard, giving it a very friendly feel. We used a top table voucher which gave us a delicious glass of prosecco for free and so the tea was really good value. The scones were all freshly baked to order, the cakes were beautifully presented and the tea was loose leaf and topped up whenever we wanted. The head chef even came out to ask us how we were getting on. There was so much to eat, we couldn't finish it, but if you're looking for something special and classy I would definitely recommend the potting shed.12/03/2013 00:00:00Great service, lovely foodWent for a mother day lunch and was very impressed, lovely atmosphere, fantastic food and all the staff very friendly and attentive, next time we're in London will definitely return!10/03/2013 00:00:00Good food and serviceVery enjoyable lunch with well prepared food and excellent service. Menu was varied and interesting complemented by a well selected wine list.07/03/2013 00:00:00A good evening at the Potting ShedMy friend and I were pleased to meet the kind and helpful staff and we appreciated the welcoming ambience with pleasant low-lighting. The food was good and the wine was enjoyable too. We hope to return soon for another informal get-together.26/02/2013 00:00:00so much better than a mug of teasometimes it is just lovely to take time out, to enjoy beautiful surroundings and a forgotten time of the day - afternoon tea. A relaxing, scrumptious experience.26/02/2013 00:00:00Sunday LunchExcellent food, lovely atmosphere and friendly waiting staff24/02/2013 00:00:00Lovely!Great food. All very fresh and tasty with lovely accompaniments. Good selection of food and wines. Very nice atmosphere, quiet intimate but good for business too. Nice decor, very clean and smart. Service was friendly and attentive. Good value for money. Great to have such a nice place to go to meet business acquaintances near to Marylebone station. Highly recommended and will definitely be going back.19/02/2013 00:00:00everything is amazing!the potting shed's afternoon tea (with champagne) is by the far the best value tea there is here in london! the scones and cakes are to die for, and they have quite a nice selection of teas. i also highly recommend their sunday roast, as well as their breakfast! everything is delicious here, and the ambience is wonderful!17/02/2013 00:00:00Delightful Valentine's DayOur first visit to The Potting Shed, and we were very pleasantly surprised. As previous reviewers have said, the service is attentive and friendly and the ambience very cosy. The set Valentine's dinner was perfectly executed and, with the inclusion of a glass of rose Champagne, good value. The wines we sampled were re all delicious. Highly recommended.14/02/2013 00:00:00Perfect local placeThe Potting Shed was really good. I didn't expect much from a restaurant in a small local hotel but really enjoyed nice food and friendly service. They do daily specials which is a great idea for a local place. I had wild mushrooms on toast with poached egg and liver with mash, bacon and rich sauce. My friend went with smoked salmon and shank of lamb. Everything was well cooked and tasty.
I will surely come back soon!04/02/2013 00:00:00hidden gemIn a basement, and not at all obvious to the outside world, but Potting Shed is an excellent find, very consistent food across the entire menu, and a small but very well spread wine list, at reasonable value. Service was attentive and the small touches (type of bread, seating comfort etc) were nicely done.22/01/2013 16:00:00Good as usualAnother good meal. Good value, interesting food. Helpful friendly staff, made up a tomato salad instantly, no fuss. Reasonable wine list, impressed my French guest. Really should be better known.13/01/2013 16:00:00The Potting Shed in MaryleboneThe Potting Shed in Marylebone is an excellent and convenient location for a variety of occasions. Much quieter and therefore more relaxed/comfortable than the other Firmdale hotel bars/restaurants, but I believe service and quality of food just as good or if not better. TT Dish of the day plus glass of wine, excellent value. Loved the gorgeous complimentary chocolate at the end of the meal, which was then followed by the even more tasty treat of a mini sorbet cone each. Loved it!09/01/2013 16:00:00Teatime treatLovely atmosphere in this restaurant - the place setting for afternoon tea evokes an English summers day. Service was attentive without being obtrusive and we were really welcomed. The pinapple cake was wonderful but the scones were quite doughy - not to my taste but others in our party loved them. Certainly the deal was value for money and there was quite a lot to eat but the staff were ready straight away to pack up for us what we didn't eat at the time. Cakes had a very homemade feel.
All our group thoroughly enjoyed the experience.05/01/2013 16:00:00Excellent reataurant, hidden awayWe have used this restaurant for some time, as it is conveniently placed between Baker St and Marylebone Stations. It is in the basement, but has a large glass roof. The restaurant is small and cosy. It is the restaurant in the Dorset Square hotel, and was refurbished with the hotel, and now has a cricket theme, Dorset Square being the original Lord's cricket ground. The service is first class, very friendly, and the menu is short and good, and very good value. Add a reasonable wine list, and it is a restaurant we will return to frequently.20/12/2012 16:00:00A warm welcome on a cold dayThis is a delightful restaurant in the basement of the Dorset Square hotel. The service is excellent, the food was beautifully cooked and presented, although at £65 for two courses and water (for two) it may be a bit on the expensive side for an everyday visit. We would be more than happy to return and recommend it likewise.11/12/2012 16:00:00Superb!Second time there and second excellent meal. Relaxing atmosphere and good service. Still needs to extend it's beer range to Pale Ale and Bitter. A choice of two lagers is not so clever.08/12/2012 00:00:00Great Meal for 5Food, service and atmosphere all absolutely top-notch. Will definitely be going back.05/12/2012 16:00:00A Gem!Wonderful hotel restaurant below stairs at The Dorset Square Hotel. Glass room so bright, wonderful (cricket themed) ambiance and great food. I pumped for the feta cheese salad (amazing) and the Potting Shed (fish) pie. Equally so!10/11/2012 00:00:00Peaceful retreatThe Potting Shed provides a calm and peaceful environment, in a light and airy space away from the hussle and bustle of the West End. I came here with my mum for an afternoon tea treat. The service is outstanding, attentive and reflects the five star boutique hotel this restaurant is part of. The food was exquisite - I would come back just to try the scones alone! I would highly recommend this and will definitely return.14/10/2012 00:00:00lovely dinner with friendsWe had a very enjoyable dinner at the pottig shed in Marylebone. Felt a little under dressed for all the suits but still had a lovely time.20/09/2012 16:00:00The Potting Shed, Dorset Sq. W1This restaurant is a true secret find, hard to see immediately from the road, it adjoins the Dorset Square Hotel. If the decor matches the restaurant worth a stay. Recently decorated with a wow factor for us. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
We enjoyed our food immensely, the quality and way it was presented was first class. Will recommend to friends.18/08/2012 00:00:00
