The Pheasant at Keystona Perfect Venue for a long overdueWhile visiting family in Huntingdon, we also were able to meet up with longtime friends for dinner at The Pheasant. We liked everything about the restaurant, the decor, the menu options, and in particular the delicious dinner we enjoyed. The grilled monkfish was outstanding, and two of our party were absolutely delighted with their flat iron steak. Our waitress took excellent care of us, and the only disappointment was the man at the next table who became very loud and drunk, somewhat spoiling the evening, no fault of the restaurant.
If we lived in the area, we would certainly return and would recommend The Pheasant to anyone in the area for a lovely evening out.11/05/2013 00:00:00Worth a visitHad evening dinner. Good menu. Very helpful staff. Bent over backwards to make it good
Thank you04/05/2013 00:00:00The food was very good andThe food was very good and not too expensive. The wine was especially good value. The staff were helpful -
we asked for a particular liquor which they didn't have but they took time to send a member of bar staff to the
table to make further enquiries.
The decor and feel of the place was just right.04/05/2013 00:00:00Relaxing Sunday LunchWe took a friend who had stayed the weekend here for Sunday Lunch, lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. The service and food were excellent, good menu , good value and beautifully cooked roast beef with all the trimmings. The starters and desserts were delicious as well!07/04/2013 00:00:00The PheasantMy family and friends have been dining at "The Pheasant" for 30+ years, with many different "Chefs".
It has always been a joy.07/04/2013 00:00:00Nice evening..The Pheasant served us well, very welcoming despite turning up late due to our babysitter being late. No sense of being unwelcome or rushed despite being the last diners to leave. We had planned two courses but stayed for three all beautifully cooked and service was great. Some familes were just finishing their meals when we arrived so clearly they cater for kids - but had thought to seat us well away in a quiet spot. I used to work locally and Pheasant had a good reputation then for a place to take business clients to. Glad to have tried it myself!28/03/2013 00:00:00SUNDAY LUNCH AT THE PHEASANTI entertained a small group of friends for lunch on a recent Sunday at the Pheasant. A very welcoming atmosphere with a log fire burning in the bar area.
Very attentive staff who quickly came to get our pre lunch drinks order and to let us have menus to study.
Once our order was taken we were soon called to our table where service was polite and efficient. The food was very good, with starters and main courses excellent. If I have any fault to find it was with the dessert ...Rhubarb and Apple Crumble, where the crumble was not to my or others liking. This week I had a similar dish (Rhubarb and Pear Crumble with a small pot of custard in a very good London restaurant, which was sublime.17/03/2013 00:00:00the food was excellent, thethe food was excellent, the staff were very accomadating. this is a must to go too, plenty of space not all eating on top of each other. the wine was brilliant.16/03/2013 00:00:00lovely gastro pubExcellent food, great wines and beer selection. Service is efficient, pleasant and friendly. Surroundings are great15/03/2013 00:00:00RediscoverySince coming under new ownership and management, The Pheasant is rediscovering its identity as one of the best bistro pubs in the country. The menu is a great balance between classic traditional cooking, perfect comfort food and imaginative new influences: in other words there is something for everyone. The wine list is amazing and the selection of wines by the glass compare well with any in central London. The staff are great: right balance of professional and friendly. The location is a pretty village, easily accessible from the A14. Overall, highly recommended.23/02/2013 00:00:00Everything was lovely!I booked The Pheasant as I had heard good things about it and we were not disappointed! It had a warm friendly atmosphere as soon as you walked in. The service was well-timed. I had the Thai fish curry to start, which was very enjoyable followed by the roast corn-fed chicken. I wouldn't normally choose chicken, but as I am pregnant I thought chicken would be safest option and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The front of house manager seemed genuinely interested in our experience and where we had come from. I mentioned it was my husband's birthday (much to his embarrassment!) and when his dessert arrived, it had 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate on the plate. Nice touch! We will definitely be making the 40 minute journey to the Pheasant again!23/02/2013 00:00:00An Excellent Meal at the PheasantWe had a wonderful meal at the Pheasant. We loved the whitebait nibbles. I would have preferred more vegetarian options but the onion tartlet was very nice. My husband's chicken look awesome and he enjoyed it very much. Could of had a better selection of desserts, but my vanilla and rhubarb was good. The staff was friendly and the wines were reasonable. We will definitely go back.23/02/2013 00:00:00Valentines meal.I took my wife for a late valentines meal and we had a great experience here. The staff were very friendly, the food was fantastic and the nice thing is we did not feel rushed between meals. Location is great and we will return with friends and family. Thanks for a great experience.16/02/2013 00:00:00Awesome, once againSecond visit and equally, if not more pleased with the experience.
The food was excellent in both taste and presentation.
Ambience superb. A great country pub for lunch, early or later dinner, as well as a bar worthy of a visit - a fine selection of drinks.14/02/2013 00:00:00thankyouBrilliant food brilliant service highly recommended03/02/2013 00:00:00We had a very enjoyable experienceWe had a very enjoyable experience dining at The Pheasant.02/02/2013 00:00:00As good as everA most enjoyable meal in a very pleasant setting with expert service (if slightly slower than normal on this occasion).01/02/2013 00:00:00Yummy lunchHad a great lunch here with a colleague. Wonderful soup, fish, and pudding. Was very nice to have a drink by the fire before we started. Wonderful service.29/01/2013 16:00:00This is the perfect placeThis is the perfect place for a relaxed atmosphere and great food, the service is attentive and helpful with good knowledge of what is on the menu, the venison was cooked to perffection and they have no issues in altering meals slightly to suit taste. Will deffinately be back to try other dishes and wines on the menu.29/01/2013 00:00:00ExcellentIt was an excellent evening. Food and Service could not have been better.25/01/2013 16:00:00Another good experienceVisited the Pheasant on Friday last at 07.30. We were made welcome but it wasn't paerticularly warm within the seating area (it was a cold night though). After a while, it got busy and warmed up. The food and service was up to its usual standard (my daughter stated it was the nicest steak she has ever had). Definitely good for a special occasion.24/01/2013 16:00:00Fantastic foodBest meal I have had in along time. Unusual ingedients well presented with great flavour. We booked our table for 7.30 p.m. but were chatting so much in the bar we didnt order til nearly 8.30 p.m. but it was no problem. Busy on a Friday night but not rushed at all. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be returning.24/01/2013 16:00:00Love this placeOne of the very few places my husband and I are willing to be regulars at. Love this place, great food great service every time.18/01/2013 16:00:00A wonderful eveningA beautiful restaurant full of atmosphere and country charm in a quiet country location. Would highly recommend as a venue for a special meal as the food was outstanding - not cheap but you get what you pay for. Extensive selection of wines and variety of local ales. Service was friendly and attentive - you felt like the team knew what they were talking about when it came to the menu.28/12/2012 16:00:00Sumptuous PheasantWe had dinner on Christmas eve at the Pheasant and had a really enjoyable meal. The Pheasant offered a superb set menu which offered all tastes a choice. On arrival we were offered the choice of relaxing in front of the fire having a pre-dinner drink or going to the table. We relaxed in the pub for a while and then went to our table. The staff were friendly, food was served timeously. The food was superb (had the twice cooked beef - just fell apart - compliments to the chef, my wife had the pheasant, which was also very tasty). Time between courses was well timed and you were not rushed. Thanks to the staff at the Pheasant superb evening and well worth the visit.23/12/2012 16:00:00Good valueVery pleased to see the three-course meal for £25. Good value. Also, for those driving, wine in a carafe is an excellent idea, as often a bottle is too much.22/12/2012 16:00:00Start to finish this placeStart to finish this place delivered, great welcome and service, drinks and nibbles in front of the fireplace and then one of the tastiest 3 course meals ive ever had.
The chicken tasted amazing, probably the dish of the day out of all our courses.
The food isnt expensive, but you end up spending alot because its so good!20/12/2012 16:00:00Great place to eatI went there just before christmas to have lunch with friends and their young child.
The food was excellent and they bent over backwards looking after us all - recommend,09/12/2012 00:00:00
