The service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive, and the food was really tasty. All three diners ate from the specials board, which provided an interesting selection of winter salads and pies. We happen to always stay in a hotel that is just a block from The Only Running Footman so this is a restaurant that we will come back to each time we make one of our frequent visits to London. Don't be put off by the happy, overflowing crowd on the sidewalk when you approach the restaurant. Downstairs is a popular pub that is a hot spot at night. Once you climb the steps to the restaurant you will have a quiet and delicious meal.
