The views are stunning, the food was perfectly cooked and the service was friendly and efficient. A great place for a relaxed, high quality meal.03/04/2013 00:00:00Sunday lunchVery friendly, thoughtful and helpful staff. I was alone and they thought to bring me paper and magazine to read. Food was typical Sunday lunch and very good service. Have been befor and will go again.24/03/2013 00:00:00You get what you pay forVery impressed with The Ness. The food is really top-drawer, the service is friendly and puts you at ease without patronising you or making you feel like you're at Pizza Hut, and the ambience is great. Slightly quirky décor helps with that. You absolutely won't regret going and there are several choices for vegetarians, but I can't give it five stars for value because vegetables have to be ordered separately at an extra cost with some meals. Plus, as nice as my venison pie was (and it really was lovely), £18 is a lot for a main meal. There are choices from about £8 upwards though, so it's not like you HAVE to pay top whack. The pie was among the pricier options.
Anyway, I definitely will go back and I definitely do recommend it.02/03/2013 00:00:00Excellent evening!Booked a table at the Ness Monday 18th feb, have been there many times over the years and have never been disappointed! I had my 50th birthday dinner there last August whilst having a few days in Shaldon. It's been revamped, and decor is lovely, we always like to book a table in the conservatory, overlooking the sea. Lovely friendly staff, and a good choice of food. Superb again!19/02/2013 00:00:00Great family lunchtime mealFive of us-three generations including a 4 year old.
Great table by the window overlooking the sea-great on a sunny day.
Easily found good tempting food on the menu and also a specials board. All thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Staff friendly and professional.
The Ness being closed for refurbishment-just hope it is not spoilt as its beauty and attraction is because it is as it is.11/01/2013 16:00:00StunningI have eaten at The Ness on various occasions over the last couple of years and is has always been first class.
