The NarrowWe were very happy with ourWe were very happy with our experience at the Narrow, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was lovely. We did feel that the children's menu was a little lacking and would of liked a bit more choice, but we were made to feel very welcome and our daughter loved the little colouring book and hat!15/06/2013 00:00:00Lovely meal - top class foodWe started the meal from a drink at the bar - very friendly atmosphere, lovely dog welcomed us as well. The restaurant itself looks very modern, nicely located by the river, adds uniqueness to the venue itself. Food, as expected, was delicious - both the presentation of it as well as taste. Service is also top class - very keen to assist and recommend meals.14/06/2013 00:00:00The set menu was great valueThe set menu was great value for money. The best fish and chips i have ever tasted!13/06/2013 00:00:00The NarrowFriendly, accommodating staff, managed to squeeze a extra person In for us at last minute despite
being busy, tasty food, nice view11/06/2013 00:00:00We were a group of 8 diningWe were a group of 8 dining at the Narrow. The food, service and location was great - beutiful view and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The acoustics weren't great though. It was loud and hard to hear eachother; especially those colleagues at the other end of the table. But for 2 or 4 people it should not be a problem.07/06/2013 00:00:00Weekday girls outingI had never been to the Narrow before and it was a last minute booking for myself and a mate who lives nearby. The service was excellent, attentive without being annoying and friendly without familiarity. We shared the ham hock terrine then both had fish and chips, all of which was excellent. I'm still not sure about the pretendy newspaper under the fish, but the batter was crisp, the chips not greasy and the wine list reasonable. Overall, it was a fine venue with good views over the river, smart and smiling staff and excellent food at a reasonable price - I will return.06/06/2013 00:00:00Always a good experienceHave eaten at the Narrow several times - always a good experience. Wonderful views over the Thames. Tables outside if the weather is nice. Very helpful service. Good selection of 'plain' food e.g. Sunday roasts, fish and chips, posh burger etc, offered tap water without having to ask.02/06/2013 00:00:00Good food with great viewsAn excellent meal with very attentive service and great views over The Thames. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed pre-dinner drinks outside - the special cocktail went down well! Uncomplicated food and a good selection of wine. Can't wait to go back.01/06/2013 00:00:00Dining with a viewDined here Saturday evening with an elderly relative who has a wheelchair. The restaurant and staff were perfect. Easy access with car park close by, tow path access and lovely views along the river. We booked the 2 courses for £18 and was not disappointed. My husband had the beer battered cod and it looked fresh and delicious. The steak and ale pie was hot and tasty. Everything arrived together and the staff were very attentive. The Thames is so close and the views were spectacular.01/06/2013 00:00:00Delightful Pub/ResturantUpscale pub fare deliciously prepared. I had a piece of Bass over asparagus that was expertly Cooked. Crisp skin, moist flesh, well seasoned. The kind of fish you often hope to get, but rarely do. My son had a potatoe-leek pasty that was a beautiful brown thing to look at and piping hot. Deserts were decadent and outstanding.
The ambiance was cheerful and happy. People out enjoying themselves over a beer and a good meal.
Staff was attentive and cheerful. We were early for our reservation and promptly seated. Our waitress was helpful making suggestions and paced our meal well.
Quaint little spot right on the river giving you a dramatic view of the skyline.
I would definitely go back and definitely recommend.30/05/2013 00:00:00Decent set menuAte at the narrow on a Thursday evening at 8pm. It was pretty quiet initially but gradually got busier as the night went on. We were sat by the window with a great view over the Thames and docklands. Service was very friendly and helpful, food came out really fast but we weren't hurried along at all. We ate from the set menu, 2 courses for £18, ordering fish and chips and a burger. We were happy with both dishes and managed to squeeze in two really tasty deserts too. Overall a very pleasant, relaxed dining experience.30/05/2013 00:00:00Good food and service but.......it took 1hr for food to arrive. Staff apologised and were very nice though.29/05/2013 00:00:00The best service staffWe are celebrating the 89th birthday of my father - the weather was foul rainand more rain however the cheerfulness of the stff did nit left the damp get to your spirits I would like to thank especial Agathally K from Polond who made the experience total gratyifying,
As usually the food was up to its billing and delicious - this is the second time that we have celebrated a family event at THE NARROW and do not do see any reason why we do not continue to do so for many years.28/05/2013 00:00:00Overall a very positive firstOverall a very positive first time impression. Staff were genuinely polite and pleased to greet us, the waiter was well informed on the food and the wine, service was quick. Brilliant.28/05/2013 00:00:00Lovely river side placeGood quality food, decent portion sizes, friendly staff. really nice place on a sunny day. Corn Fed Chicken Sunday Roast Superb.26/05/2013 00:00:00On the ThamesWhile a bit out of the way, it was worth the trip on a sunny Sunday. We very much enjoyed the Sunday Roast, the seat at the window and, of course, the libations. It's a Pub folks so don't take it or yourself too seriously. Just come relaxed and have some real comfort food and drink whilst taking in the local color.26/05/2013 00:00:00Sunday LunchBank Holiday weekend. Restaurant busy but service pretty good. More upmarket than a gastro pub - still has a restaurant feel. Good out in the conservatory overlooking the river with free underground parking.
Would also be nice in the winter as has a more rustic feel indoors. For a more quiet ambience ask to be seated to the right away from the outdoor seating area as this is more "pubby" and encourages smokers.
Good lunch, 2 families with children aged 9-15 - all seemed happy! Provided colouring pads with new boxes of pencils... even the older 13 year olds quite enjoyed idling their waiting time away with a spot of colouring!
Everyone enjoyed it which is a very good sign as there were 9 of us.26/05/2013 00:00:00Good food (if slightly overGood food (if slightly over priced) and lovely view across the Thames. Lovely for a sunny evening.25/05/2013 00:00:00Lovely locationRight on the river, lovely food and very good service23/05/2013 00:00:00Gordon Ramsey eateryWas keen to see if
Gordon is as fussy at his own eateries as he is on tv.
Food and location very good.Place is a bit on the tired side.
Needs a good paint touch up and a bit of tarting .
Felt slightly grubby
Still had an enjoyable night22/05/2013 00:00:00We had a very nice time atWe had a very nice time at The Narrow. The meal was not rushed, the service was excellent as was the food.
A good choice on the menu. Had some friends over from America and they were very pleased with the choice.
Great views of the river, it was only the weather that could have been improved. We also had a Birthday in our party we did not tell the waitress however, she picked up on this and Paul recieved a birthday treat with candle. I think the price was mid way, not cheap however, not expensive. Sitting looking out by the river just made the day.21/05/2013 00:00:00Sunday LunchBurger was great, brioche bun is always a winner, however a bit overpriced for what it is. There are better, less expensive burgers in London. Tried my partners Sunday roast, which was good and probably worth what they charge. Great views by the river and good service.19/05/2013 00:00:00Slightly disappointedWonderful location and we had a beautiful table by the window overlooking Limehouse Basin. The service was friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. However we were slightly disappointed by the food - as part of the Gordon Ramsay chain - we thought would be excellent. The starters were delicious especially liked the cheese and ham croutons with the minted pea soup. We had the roast as it was Sunday - the beef was excellent - however the yorkshire pudding was awful - needed a hammer to get in and the potatoes were undercooked and very dry. Desserts and cheese were delicious - although the sweet oat biscuits with the cheese were not a good idea. Overall we enjoyed the experience but overpriced for the quality of the main course.19/05/2013 00:00:00Fab FoodWe went to the pub for dinner and although we spent a fortune it was probably the best food we have had. The service was excellent as well - great place to eat on the river and would recommend it to anyone. Jaq, Jim and Chase!18/05/2013 00:00:00We've been here more thanWe've been here more than 5 times and we always had great food, nice atmosphere and good service at reasonable price. I particularly like bringing some friends visiting from over sea as this restaurant provides with authentic pub ambiance and pub food, which is unique to Britain, in a very nice way. All of them really liked it there! The viewing is amazing too! Thought it is a little bit of mission to get there from central London, it's worth it!17/05/2013 00:00:00Birthday dinnerMy friend and I got recommended this restaurent from a friend of mine and we decided to celebrate my birthday there, when we came to London for the first time.
It was just amazing! Beautiful view and the waiters came and sang a birthday song for me. They was so friendly and I will totally come back, if I'm going to London again.
It's a birthday I've never forget!15/05/2013 00:00:00Great locationWonderful riverside location. Friendly service. Food very good but a bit pricey.12/05/2013 00:00:00great dining experienceA great dining experience with a superb river view.08/05/2013 00:00:00Nice viewWe liked the nice view over the Themse. The food was very good, the service very friendly. They have a excellent wine list.05/05/2013 00:00:00Food is outstanding, serviceFood is outstanding, service is outstanding. The cured salmon is sublime. It's a bit on the pricey side, but great value. Fantastic location. Book ahead!05/05/2013 00:00:00Sunday LunchtasticAfter a manic weekend in London it was lovely to relax overlooking the Thames. The service was very good and the food was delicious. Clean plates all round. The puddings were just heavenly. Will most definitely be returning in the future.05/05/2013 00:00:00Lovely LunchExcellent food at The Narrow and really good service. Staff were very accommodating and I would definitely visit again! We didn't have to wait long for lunch, even though it was really busy. I am glad I made a reservation as it seems like a very popular choice for a Saturday lunch time.04/05/2013 00:00:00A lazy lunchAn ideal setting for a lazy lunch due to it being a destination restaurant. It did seem strange that alcohol purchased at the bar couldn't be put on a table bill.....but I am sure that they had their reasons.
Overall very good food, service and value as we had the set menu
I would recommend it, but make sure that you have plans after you eat because they seem to want your table as soon as they can and there isn't really anywhere to sit when you have finished.04/05/2013 00:00:00A near perfect mixThe Narrow blends a great ambiance, excellent food and perhaps the best known name in food into a super, yet casual venue. Food was excellent - down to earth dishes but done as well as they could. Staff were a little nonchalant for my liking.
We sat in the conservatory for an early dinner. The sun was out and it was great. Drinks outside on the waterside terrace would have been great. The interior seemed to strike the right balance between cosy, roomy and comfortable.
All in all a great place in an area where there dont seem to be many that can come close.02/05/2013 00:00:00When I visited, together withWhen I visited, together with two collegues, the Narrow, it was a glorious warm sunny spring day. The location by the river is superb and the great weather made the visit all the more appealing. The restaurant is pretty casual and although it was a working day, lacked business clientelle. However, the meal was good, service was attentive and the ambience created essentially by the location was pleasant. My one criticism is that the menu was pretty standard. I like there to be a couple of unusual dishes on the list, as I am an adventurous eater. However, my two collegues are not and they thought the menu was perfect. Worth a visit.01/05/2013 00:00:00Top quality gastropubExcellent food and drink at the Narrow, Monday April 29, 2013. The duck and ham terrine starter was hearty yet refined. The braised neck of lamb was so tender and juicy and full of savory flavour, it was beyond "fall off the bone" - it practically melted off! Order the cider from Hereford to complete the meal.
Sadly, the service was lackluster - inattentive to the fact our party was ready to order and when it came time for the bill. The restaurant became more busy and the server did not seem to manage that very well. No 5 star service needed, but just some more awareness of the guests already dining.
However, with all that said the food was extremely tasty and I would definitely eat here again!29/04/2013 00:00:00Very goodWent to the Narrow for Sunday roast. Great service, fantastic table, and food was good (as always)28/04/2013 00:00:00excellent lunchWe had a family lunch together with 4 generations in the family. Lovely views, food and service28/04/2013 00:00:00Always deliversGood food
Excellent server
Great atmosphere
Need to stop the napkins belong so much lint on our clothes!27/04/2013 00:00:00Great gastro pub diningLovely buzzing atmosphere when you enter and we were seated almost immediately. The choice of the menu seemed to cater for all tastes and I chosed the chicken & forest mushroom pie. It was delicious. (The mash potato was to die for!)
Dessert was a hard choice because there was so much to choose from so I settled for the lemon posset with vanilla shortbread and it was so smooth and delicious on the palate, a perfect choice.
All in all, delicious food competitively priced and a credit to all the staff and of course Gordon Ramsay too!23/04/2013 00:00:00Very nice food but a bit coldThe food was very nice unfortunately the room was too cold. The heaters were not enough.
Considering that 12.5% service charge is added to the bill it took too long to get the attention of the waiter. There was no one at reception on arrival. In my opinion it shows that staff does not have to work for tips. All things said our waiter was very friendly.
Very nice view and very nice food it is definitely to be recommended.20/04/2013 00:00:00Another good meal at the NarrowAs I said to my lunch companion, I have never had a poor experience here. It isnt exactly cheap but when each course is good quality and you sit on the river, it is the perfect place for lunch.20/04/2013 00:00:00Great viewThe location is amazing and the food is great! They change their menu occasionally to keep it interesting as well.19/04/2013 00:00:00The narrow was very enjoyableThe narrow was very enjoyable I took my mum who came to visit! Male host was brilliant, tables maybe a little close together as I could hear everyone else's conversations!! Staff friendly but running around like lunatics as it was so busy. Can't wait to go again tho try something different. I had the duck eggs, beautiful flavour, maybe cut down on portion size as flavour intense. Also had the chicken and forest mushroom pie-outstanding!! My mum ate the fennel chilli salad and gourmet burger there was nothing she left on the plate!! Would have been nice to give table eater automatically in a jug not bottle maybe would have stayed for desert if we had more time! Beautiful location/food & staff!! Thank you!!19/04/2013 00:00:00Another great meal at The Narrow!I took my wife for her birthday, this is the second time we have visited The Narrow, we come from Sheffield to eat there! Gordon does it right.
The staff the Food the surroundings for what the offer is Just right.12/04/2013 00:00:00Birthday MealThe Narrow is an excellent riverside pub, with excellent service, food. Greeted warmly on arrival, and shown straight to our table, I found the service excellent. Once ordered, the food arrived promptly, we were not rushed between courses, and the waiting staff were courteous, friendly and attentive at all times.
On departure, we were shaken warmly by the hand as we said farewell, and we left feeling we had been made important and valued.
I would certainly recommend dining here to anyone, and feel I would like to return to dine in the future12/04/2013 00:00:00outstanding locationVery good service. The starters were perfect. We were a bit dissapointed in the main courses.
Desserts fantastic. A small misstake was corrected in a perfect way.
Over all the service and location was perfect.08/04/2013 00:00:00Great service from our waiter,Great service from our waiter, Andre. Efficient, polite, unobtrusive but also charming. Food was expensive, but delicious.07/04/2013 00:00:00Nice food, good service, great viewSo many of the pubs around Wapping have terrible or mediocre food. The Narrow has very good food, has a beautiful conservatory area which overlooks the Thames and a nice ambience. We went for Sunday lunch, the food was good, the wine was good and the service was good. No complaints really. A bit pricey but I think that's to be expected.07/04/2013 00:00:00Otima surpresa as margens do TamisaJantei lá durante minha viagem de férias a Londres por indicação de um amigo.
