The Montagu at Hyatt Regency London - The ChurchillAn old favouriteI have been here so many times with different groups and e food is always great. The deals are very good value with super friendly staff too. In over 5 yars of living in London and now many trips down for work the a few places that a such good all rounders to eat08/05/2013 00:00:00the dessert (mine was panathe dessert (mine was pana cotta) was a bit too sweet. The cake was good though.01/05/2013 00:00:00My friends and I dined hereMy friends and I dined here on the £23 3 course with Bellini offer. It was excellent value - tasty food, a good choice and good portions sizes. The ambience was also relaxing with a live pianist providing some excellent background music. I would definitely recommend this restaurant - it will impress your friends!25/04/2013 00:00:00lovely lunchI booked a table for 10 people on a Saturday lunch time. We had a drink in the bar first. They were a little slow on showing us to our table. But once seated service was very good. There was a vaeied choice on set menu which is good value for money for a five star hotel in central London.20/04/2013 00:00:00Montagu - Outstanding dinnerWe had a really lovely evening with our friends. The service and food was excellent!!! The way the food - especially the dessert - was presented was mouthwatering. Extremely attentive staff and fabolous atmosphere.20/04/2013 00:00:00Nice experienceWent for dining with a friend and benefit for the 3 courses at £23 including a Bellini glass. The food was well represented and the taste was ok too. Had a warm welcoming and the staff was kind and professional.18/04/2013 00:00:00Fantastic serviceI took a client here for lunch recently, the food was fantastic, although I didn't enjoy my starter to which our waiter was exceptionally apologetic about and could not do enough to ensure the rest of our experience was to a high standard. I was not charged for it either. All of my party enjoyed their meals greatly and I very much intend to return and would highly recommend this restaurant.11/04/2013 00:00:00The Marvelous '5 Star' MontagueEvery single detail is adhered to and to the highest standard from the moment you step into the fabulous Churchill Hotel. We had pre-dinner drinks in the bar - the cocktail list was impressive and the service again was super efficient.
We dined in the Montague restaurant and wow, wow, and wow. The food was out of this world, the ambience was second to none and the service, five stars. We cannot wait to return and very soon!10/04/2013 00:00:00EXCELLENT VALUE ON THE LUNCH DEALThis was my first visit to the Hyatt even though we both eat out a lot. We opted for the 2/3 course lunch deal with half a bottle of wine which was fantastic value. The service was great, the wine offer was great as it was a pretty good Chilean SB, all the food was well presented and the waiter was very attentive. Both of us did go for the sweet course and these did not disappoint. Often on deals the portions are tiny but these were all ample. I definitely will return and would recommend it to anyone. Well done to them. So much better value than one of my favourite places which shall be nameless!08/04/2013 00:00:00Lovely venueBooked this on the 3 course and wine deal for lunch with girlfriend. The venue is lovely, service good and the food was really lovely. Highly recommend06/04/2013 00:00:00it is probably 35 years sinceit is probably 35 years since I lunched at the Montagu. It do not disappoint us. The food was very good. Service not intrusive but efficient. The venue was busy but not too loud and the top table deal was extremely good.06/04/2013 00:00:00Great place for lunch - niceGreat place for lunch - nice atmosphere, food good and for the price excellent choice of menu - the half bottle of wine included with the toptable offer was great but would have been appreciated more with the dinner toptable offer. I can see why they don't do this though!25/03/2013 00:00:00Outstanding value£23 for three courses and a half bottle of wine. Free bread. Relaxed service. Unhurried atmosphere. You can't get better at this perfec price point23/03/2013 00:00:00Good but not greatThe dinner deal was good, we payed £30 each for 3 courses and a glass of bellini (including service and water). The service was good and the restaurant was easy to get to. But I did not think the food was amazing hence I will not return again.23/03/2013 00:00:00Hotel with relaxing zone for dinersLovely, crisp, clean and good food at the Montagu. Previously I saw it only for business but there is a more relaxing and welcoming feel for those popping in for a nice evening of good food and excellent service. Also cheery retreat from the freezing weather outside so that we left feeling well fed, watered and cheered.
We shall return.22/03/2013 00:00:00So good have to sing its praises.I made the booking for 5 for a Birthday dinner last Thursday. The food and service were great. Excellent value. Lovely ambience. The restaurant was not tucked away but on the ground floor overlooking the square. Best of all was the pianist/singer. We had a lovely time. I will definately go again. It must have been good this is the first time I have sent in a review.21/03/2013 00:00:00Good atmosphere for business dinnerHad a dinner for 5 which was very much a working dinner. Atmosphere was very good with staff providing just the right level of support during the meal. Would have been better if the waiter had known that there were no oysters when she took our order, however the chef did come and apologise at the end of the meal.19/03/2013 00:00:00Great meal, great restaurantThis is a real find. You can easily walk there from Waterloo to save getting the Underground if you train it in to town. We had a deal which meant we could have the 5 course Tasting Menu for half the price. The food was excellent. The wines and drinks are on the expensive side so you might want to have a few pre meal cheekies elsewhere. We had a Mojito for £12 which is okay but not great and you can get fantastic ones for half the price elsewhere.12/03/2013 00:00:00Great meal!Took my girlfriend to The Mantegu for her birthday for the first time. The ambience was nice a d welcoming with a pino player playing in the hall. We both chose two courses from the set menue offer, duck with orange souce to start with and beef casseroles to follow, I must admit the food did exceed our expectation and we thoughroly enjoyed it not to forget that we also had a glass of Billini which was a great compliment to our food. Even though they had forgotten about an small desert with a candle, but when I mentioned it to one of the waiters, it promptly arrived at the table. We do recommend this restaurant and will go back there again.09/03/2013 00:00:00My friends and I enjoyed aMy friends and I enjoyed a fabulous Saturday lunch with the amazing value 3 courses and half a bottle of wine offer for £23!! The food choice was very good too, fish, meat and a veggie option. We were given free bread and plenty if water and left to enjoy the ambience and the live music provided by a very talented, young pianist . My friends were all raving about the dessert in particular. It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.02/03/2013 00:00:00Delicious food, attentiveDelicious food, attentive staff, relaxing atmosphere.01/03/2013 00:00:00Amazing ambienceHad a lovely meal there for my boyfriends birthday. The atmosphere in the restaurant was exceptional with a pianist playing in the background completing the effect. My only compliant would be with the service. I have eaten in other 5* restaurants and had far better service. It was very disjointed and we must have been served by ten different waiters throughout the meal. For example we asked for the bill and the waiter that brought it over seemed to forget he had and after ten minutes we had to flag down another waiter and ask to pay. Nobody ever asked if we had enjoyed our food or if they could get us anyone drinks or coffee- not what I would expect from this type of restaurant.26/02/2013 00:00:00We opted for the 2 coursesWe opted for the 2 courses for £21, which included half a bottle of wine. Outstanding value!!!!
Such a lovely little hotel, very well styled. The open plan kitchen was very interesting, and so organised. Service was great. Choice on the menu was very good, an presentation superb! Would really recommend the restaurant. If you go for a later lunch sitting, you then enjoy the pianist who comes on from 3pm, for the afternoon tea sitting.
Delightful!23/02/2013 00:00:00Churchill at Hyatt RegencyVery good value meal, 3 courses for £23 including 1/2 bottle of wine but also wine from the list was not too expensive. Nice setting and lovely food, well worth a visit22/02/2013 00:00:00Absolutely excellent service,Absolutely excellent service, exquisite food best fish I've had in ages perfect portion sizes and wonderfully friendly and attentive staff. Went to celebrate a friends birthday was perfect enjoyed it so much we moved onto the bar for drinks afterwards. Highly recommend would most definitely go back! Thinking of booking for mother's day!22/02/2013 00:00:00Special dinnerWent here for valentines and both ready enjoyed the eveninga little pricey but it was a one off, would try again if near by.14/02/2013 00:00:005 Star!My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed lunch at The Montagu on Saturday. Took advantage of the '3 course plus half a bottle of wine' menu which was excellent value in a lovely setting. The service was outstanding and each member of staff we came into contact with seemed to be enjoying what they were doing making our visit very special and us feel pretty special. My thanks.09/02/2013 00:00:00AmazingThis restaurant was amazing. The staff were so delightful and very attentive nothing was to much trouble. The food was out of this world We had the special menu and it was beyond amazing. This was a special occasion dinner that was made even more special by the staff, the food and the ambience of the restaurant its self. 5 Stars.09/02/2013 00:00:00Food was good but for vegetarianFood was good but for vegetarian not much options, but overall quite good07/02/2013 00:00:00Exceptional value3 courses plus wine, tea/coffee and a Bellini including service for 2 came to under £80.
Unbeatable value, good food excellent service.02/02/2013 00:00:00As ever, I have been diningAs ever, I have been dining here for lunch for the past few months and its the best value in town.31/01/2013 16:00:00We were a group of 22 andWe were a group of 22 and everyone enjoyed the food, the ambience and the service was excellent, this was our second time and we will definitely go back.28/01/2013 16:00:00Outstanding value: freeflowOutstanding value: freeflow Pommery champagne and wine, and a quality buffet. Live music and great service. Recommended.26/01/2013 16:00:00Lunchtime treatWe took advantage of the special offer (2 courses + wine £21/ 3 courses £24 for lunch). This was excellent value for money. The food was generally of a high standard - my only gripe was the starter was a bit cold otherwise it was excellent and I would have given the food 5/5 otherwise. My partner would have preferred the portion size of the main course to have been a bit larger but I thought it was fine - just right....leaving just enough space for dessert. The hotel got busier as people arrived for afternoon tea and this made for a good astmophere in the restaurant. I would eat here again and definitely recommned it.25/01/2013 16:00:00This was my second time atThis was my second time at the montague in less than four weeks, so i knew what to expect and once again the staff and food came up trumps. Very attenttive staff, friendly and very approachable, the sunday lunch is going to be popular for me as its a great little secret pleasure. Live music in the back ground and free flowing wine with the lunch.
Im going to be a regular there for sunday lunch. Would i recomment this restaurant reluctantly yes as id like to keep this selfishly to myself as its a great place to dine.19/01/2013 16:00:00Montagu riGood value with Top Table. My husband had confit quail to start which was tasty but small portion. I had terrine which was delicious. We both had pork cheeks as main, delicious with parsnip purée. I was too full for dessert, however my husband had the cheese, well worth the supplement as a generous serving, & varied selection. Complimentary Bellini s finished off meal. Great place to finish a day shopping or as pre theatre. Would go back. Very good service & reasonably priced wine list.18/01/2013 16:00:00very nice food, good valuevery nice food, good value and great service! I couldnt ask for more!11/01/2013 16:00:00Great post New Year lunch offerBooked in only the day before for a catch up lunch with friends. Had no problems accommodating 6 of us and a 6 week old baby. Great value 2 or 3 courses inluding half bottle of wine. Service attentive but never intrusive and we did not feel rushed away after finishing our food either. Great quality food and presentation and surprisingly good choice for a fixed price menu. Would go again on this basis.04/01/2013 16:00:00Ladies who lunchAs it was too difficult to get everyone together in December a group of girlfriends and I arranged to have a celebration lunch in the Montagu for early January. We found the staff extremely welcoming and helpful, between us all we tried most of the items on the set menu and were happy with all. The Pollock and Pigs cheek were particularly remarked upon and all of the desserts were especially good. We found the service to be just right, attentive enough but not pushy. Lovely venue for a group and it was appreciated that we were not hurried out of the restaurant as is sometimes the case but took our time over wine and coffees. Would definately recommend.04/01/2013 16:00:00Pleasant lunch at the MontaguMet with some friends for lunch at the weekend - Montagu was a nice setting and the service was very attentive. All our dishes were good, nicely presented and quite imaginative for a set menu. I am told the menu changes every couple of weeks and we would definately go back if the same promotion was available.04/01/2013 16:00:00Early supper at the ChurchillA very good eating experience is available from 1800 till 2200 at the Montagu @ the Hyatt Regency hotel (Churchill) in London. My wife and I had 3 courses and a Bellini for £23 ( 2 courses available @ £21!). We both had a confit of quail to commence ( small but adequate) followed by beef strips in a green pepper sauce served with creamy potato mash. She had a beautiful piece of cod cooked in a buttery jus and served with winter vegetables.Pudding were creamy, fruity, elegant looking and very decorous. With a 500ml carafe of French Sauvignon, and service charge, we were happy and only billed for less than £80. Service was attentive and subtle.04/01/2013 16:00:00Montague at Grand HyattFantastic food in a great venue and decent value with the TT deal. Throw in a live pianist creating a lovely ambience. What more could you want?! Would go again....!30/12/2012 00:00:00really enjoyableExcellant food and wine. We would definately go back26/12/2012 16:00:00Lovely birthday lunchCame to celebrate my birthday with the toptable deal. Service was helpful, ambience fantastic. The raisin bread is to die for - will go back just for the bread! Starters were alright - my Partner and I had the Pig's Trotter's and Sea Trout, but the Mains were delicious. We had the Crispy Seared Sea Bass and the dish with Ox. The latter came in sizeable portions and was outstanding. While my partner didn't fancy the Christmas pudding, I enjoyed the rum and raisin iced souffle. Wine was very nice. Overall a lovely experience.21/12/2012 16:00:00Special OccasionRestaurant was lovely, snowy effect xmas decos, warm welcome. 3 of the party had set menu and 1 a l'carte , The sea bass was gorgeous from set menu for £25 (2 course) as was the ox. Only fault was the gravy for the turkey it was bitter. Our waiter was very attentive &, helpful, the chef sent out a birthday dessert for our daughter while they played happy birthday on the piano a lovely touch, near to the end of our meal the waiter moved to serve other tables and we had waitresses who were slow in refilling our glasses and forgot the cocktails. In all the food was excellent, I would recommend this restaurant. Just one more thing, let the taxi driver know it The Churchill, we had two taxi's and they both did not know where The Montagu was21/12/2012 16:00:00Great for special occasionsWe were looking for somewhere in central London for a pre Christmas meal.
On arrival we were showm to our table and taken through the menu, with explanations provided where required. The service throughout the meal was excellent. We were served promptly and courteously and the staff were attentive.
The food itself was very good quality and well presented. I chose from the three course a la carte which was more expensive than the set menu but offered greater choice. It was Christmas too, which is always more costly of course. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the restaurant for regular dining because of the cost, however for special occasions you expect to pay more and I would be more than happy to dine here again.19/12/2012 16:00:00Christmas Lunch SpecialWe booked the xmas lunch special - food was great!, 3 courses and half a bottle of red each for £29 a head. The food was amazing, superbly presented, cooked and taste fantastic. We will be going back!19/12/2012 16:00:00Christmas meal with friendshad a good meal here with friends before christmas.
The starters and main were quite good. The desserts were not so good,
Quite good for a meal.18/12/2012 00:00:00Good ladies lunch venueVery tasty food although my sea bass portion was a little on the mean side. The 1/2 bottle of wine each was of good quality.16/12/2012 16:00:00Dinner at the MontaguI had dinner at the Montagu with three friends. The decor is very modern and stylish, and the staff were helpful. There was a pianist playing arrangements of readily recognisable pop songs, which I rather enjoyed. I had the turkey for my main course, which was excellent, with a rich flavour. I then had the crumble for desert, which came with a delicious sauce. The soft drinks were more expensive than I would have expected, but I still had a great time.16/12/2012 00:00:00
