Since opening,The Montagu has quickly established itself as a neighbourhood, destination restaurant. With a classical contemporary style, and tranquil views over the stunning Portman Square, The Montagu provides a vibrant setting to indulge in a wide range of British and European, seasonal dishes, prepared in a striking open kitchen. The Montagu's Chef's Table is a foodie experience with a 5 course menu, prepared and delivered by the Chefs right in front of your eyes. An extensive wine list offers 70 labels covering mix of New and Old World wines, with numerous selections available by the glass.


The Montagu also serves traditional afternoon tea every day from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and is the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street.

Our meal was well cooked; we had the belly pork and the chicken followed by the yogurt parfait and chocolate fondant. We will definitely visit again!"

  • "For the first time the menu at the Churchill disappoints: it never happened before. Choice from a pre-theatre set menu is understandably limited, but still... Vegetarian main course uninspired and unsatisfactory (one egg, five asparagus spears). Starter little different to a slice of gala pie. Fish and chips and chicken better options. Looking forward to this chef finding its oomph again. The service is immaculate and the venue is very discreetly opulent."

  • "Brunch at the Churchill was lovely and the service was impeccable as always. We went for my Mum's pre birthday celebration and we weren't disappointed. I mentioned it was her birthday in my reservation and they they kindly made a little cup cake for her with happy birthday and the singer at the piano sang happy birthday, it's little touches like this that separate the Churchill from other hotels."

The restaurant overlooks Portman Square which is a nice outlook. Please bring back the Pork, we love it. 3 Courses with bread/butter and a half bottle of wine per diner is excellent value.   • "We had dinner Saturday night at this restaurant, and were delighted by the food and the staff.You are warmly greeted as you arrive through the hotel and the bar and a great mood is set by the pianist there on Saturdays.I had a delicious lobster bisque with crunchy crab crouton and this was followed by chicken with apricots and sweetheart cabbage in a tasty jus.Our waitress recommended the chocolate fondant dessert, and this was very melt in the mouth as you cut into it with your spoon to release its warm chocolate centre.Our waitress, Franchesca, was charming and attentive, and added to our enjoyment of the evening.A glass of champagne with the set menu makes this very good value indeed, and we would highly recommend it."

  • "Went with a group of friends to the Montagu for the set early evening menu. Although the choice for the set menu was quite small, everyone found something to their taste and requests for slight amendments to some dishes were accommodated by the staff. The greatest success was the dessert - which technically was not on the set menu but a replacement for the usual one which had run out -it was dark chocolate fondant with morello cherries and pistachio icecream. As the restaurant is just off the reception area of the hotel and residents may need to walk through part of the area to get to their rooms, it is a great place for "people watching" whilst waiting for your friends to arrive!"

Excellent menu options - could happily have had any one of them. Very good food, well presented, and superb service. Wine included in offer price and decent tipple it was."

  • "What a lovely dinner after a long day of shopping, so close to Marble Arch, but far away enough to be away from the traffic. The deal was good £25 for 3 courses; we were worried that there wasn't going to be enough option, but each course was delicious and really fresh, especially the mains. Must go back for the fish and chips! Only complaint was that the pear starter was very salty. Service was very discreet as well."

The 2 sauages are ok. Service is good but the restaurant is very noisy. Water is £5 per bottle, tea is also £5. Don’t border if you have to pay the full price. Very disappointed with their food."

  • "Chose the Montagu because of the 3 courses for £25 and champagne option. But we ended up ordering a la carte and spending almost twice as much. I went there with 2 friends for a catch-up while we were all in town. We had some oysters to kick off and ordered the beef tartare, duck and scallops to start. I tried a bit of everything (we're very close friends), the beef tartare was good - tasted the truffle in the beef distinctly. With the duck starter and the scallops starter, although there wasn't very much of either was absolutely delicious. For mains, two of us had the black bream, the scallop ceviche underneath the piece of fish was delightful, the fish was well cooked and well seasoned. Dishes were well-executed. Happy to come again."

  • "Were poured champagne without giving us a choice. I prefer wine so drank half a glass and when the waiter came to top up the glass, requested red wine. He informed me that I could not have anything else until I had finished the glass of champagne! I informed him that I had no intention of lining up drinks on the table & felt deeply embarrassed. We are not big drinkers, my total consumption was 1 glass of champagne, 1 glass of red wine and a soft drink. I suspect the waiter was ill informed and I would question going back there now given the £65 price tag for a fairly limited starter buffet (mostly vegetarian), fairly reasonable lunch buffet and desserts. I think if anything, we were better value to them than they were to us!"

  • "We visited this restaurant to celebrate our Valentines Day, as we weren't available on the day itself. The restaurant still offered a Valentines Menu, which was good to know, but unfortunately could not take them up on that offer due to personal financial constraints. £25 each for 3 courses from a select menu, plus a glass of Champagne seemed like good value. The food tasted very good and was pleasantly surprised. The service was good, but could have been perhaps better. However, They were busy, and as such could be forgiven. My girlfriend and I had a great time and felt like it was a good day out. I would perhaps like to return when I am better positioned financially, to take advantage of your other dishes which look great."

  • "We are a 3 course meal here which only took about an hour! I prefer to take my time between courses to enjoy the evening but here we felt very rushed, even though the resturant wasn't busy. As soon as our starter plates had been removed our main courses arrived. I have eaten at this resturant before and really enjoyed the food however when dining there this week I thought it was just mediocre. A shame."

The food was outstanding and the service was really good. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Great recommendation of wine to go with the food. There were a lot of really nice dishes on the menu that was not included in the offer, however the prices are still very reasonable, so we will be back to try out the rest of the menu – offer or no offer."
