A word from The Hoodeners Horse
A rare typical English pub where there are no fruit machines or a Jukebox. Some may find it quiet but we find people speak to each other and have a great time anyway.
The food is a combination of Mexican and English with something for everyone!

Diner Reviews
  • "We went there for a 14 year old's birthday. The atmosphere was as you would expect in a pub, very relaxed. Good service. We went for the Mexican options. Not really authentic Mexican, but good quality and large portions. The menu is varied and extensive. We would go back."

  • "Admittedly the evening we went for a meal it was nice and quiet but the staff were very attentive, food was served quickly and the meal was lovely. Reasonably priced too. Will definitely be going back again."

  • "Very relaxed lunchtime atmosphere with good service. Mostly Mexican food which they do very well. I had a Mexican burger with guacamole and chile. The chips were good with small salad. It was perfect. My friend had the chile with rice and said it was delicious. Very good portions. Have now been on several occasions and each time it has been a good experience. Highly recommended."

  • "The Hoodeners Horse is a small pub in a small village, it's not fancy but it really doesn't matter because the service is friendly and attentive and the food is good. With a varied choice of Mexican or British dishes you're bound to find something that appeals. The interior of the pub is well worn & tired but clean and aside from a little inoffensive music (no TV or fruit machines), there are no noises to compete with good conversation. The final piece of rustic charm is that the gents toilet is outside (fortunately the ladies isn't). I heard reports that it was a bit chilly out there but this is rarely a concern for men!"
