The GuineaBritish Food at the Guinea GrillThis is a good old London pub with a small restaurant that serves excellent Scottish Steaks and Pies of top quality. It has a busy atmosphere and hard working waiters who will look after you well. Extensive wine list or ales if you prefer. We enjoyed tasty well cooked steaks and the famous pies in a convivial atmosphere. Prices are good considering the area of London adjacent to Berkley Square.11/05/2013 00:00:00Bonding in LondonThank you. Fabulous and sophisticated restaurant. Warm environment, exquisite service. Its a must for a London visitor. I would certainly recommend it to our friends.27/04/2013 00:00:00Delicious steaksA great selection of steaks. Cooked perfectly and delicious sides and wine.27/04/2013 00:00:00Great Steaks, but Weird Maitre'dThe food and wine were both excellent and service at the table was good, but the maitre'd was very strange when we arrived. He kept us standing in front of the meat counter for five minutes while he finished a lengthy phone conversation, not bothering even to acknowledge our presence. Fortunately the steak chef said hello, otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. By the way, we asked for the interior room, but were not seated there.23/04/2013 00:00:00Guinea Grill was highly recommendedGuinea Grill was highly recommended by a friend. Our 1st time eating here the hostess met us at the door took our coats & walked us past the glass meat cooler where she explained each of the meats. The chef was standing behind the cooler to answer additional questions and make recommendations. The seating is typical European dining. It was cozy and tight but not uncomfortable. The Sommelier picked a nice wine within our budget.
This restaurant was a pub for many years that added fine dining to their business as most London pubs are doing.
I would highy recommend this restaurant to anyone who frequents London. I would say the Guinea Grill is as good if not better than the Black and Blue nearby restaurant.

The small oak panelled dining room behind the Guinea Pub is a real find for those who like their meat and wine. I had heard of the Guinea from my parents when I was growing up and have been a few times now. Great to see it still there and still doing what it does brilliantly. If you want superb steak in an old school London venue, served by people who genuinely want you to enjoy the experience then this is the place for you. The welcoming, trench-coated doorman in the bowler hat is the icing on the cake.
Excellent.14/02/2013 00:00:00Very dark in the restaurantVery dark in the restaurant and smelt slightly odd but was amazing food, amazing service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! Very friendly, helpful staff.31/01/2013 16:00:00A fine selection of good BritishA fine selection of good British food served well in a comfortable setting, all round a very pleasant experience. The pastry/herb crust on the steak and kidney pie was light and delicious and the balance between steak and kidney was perfect. Very good dtarter (smoked halibut) as well, enough to get a good taste and enjoy but not too much to take the edge off my appetite. Very good Fleurie to accompany.28/01/2013 16:00:00Fantastic mealWhat a fantastic restaurant, we have eaten here twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed both meals. There service is also as good as the food, along with the superb wine list.16/01/2013 16:00:00Great atmosphere which hadGreat atmosphere which had not changed along with the waiters since my last visit 5 odd years ago.
The great thing about the Guinea is its staying power, you know what you going to get and how you will get it.
A London must go too.

As always, the service was impeccable, food excellent, and it was the perfect venue to meet a friend who I had not seen in a while. He, like all others I have taken here was suitably impressed. Thank you.20/12/2012 16:00:00Christmas lunchExcellent atmosphere , great food and service . You have the great option of retiring to bar afterwards if you want to make an afternon of it. Got there at 12.45 and the next time I looked at my watch it was 6.30..13/12/2012 16:00:00Great dinner at The GuineaGreat dinner at The Guinea Grill but had hoped the steak was better. Good quality and well cooked but nothing to write home about. Poor wine list which let the meal down. Outstanding service though which made the evening memorable.28/11/2012 16:00:00Ray's reviewI had not been to The Guinea for some 35 years but it was still a first-class experience. The food was excellent, as was the wine and service. A real traditional Grill.15/10/2012 00:00:00This is now my second ventureThis is now my second venture in the Guinea Grill in Brunton Place, from the reception you recieve to the collection of your coat the staff were very attentive and efficient. on our first time here we all had different steak cuts but all were interested with the award winning pies so this time we plumbed for the Steak & Kidney and Steak & Mushroom pies with a plethera of veg's and a of variation potatoes. Their salted caramal ice was divine and the museum Real (reserva) red was again fantastic.07/05/2012 16:00:00The best steak and kidneyThe best steak and kidney pie in London.
