The GreenhouseExcellence done with charmI booked The Greenhouse as a special treat for our wedding anniversary. We are experienced at fine dining but I have to say that The Greenhouse stands out on many levels. The location is a lovely quiet area of Mayfair but with a surprisingly majestic garden entrance. The welcome we received was as good as one would expect and the quality of the staff throughout the evening was exceptionally high. We had the Discovery tasting menu. This is an 8 course menu where you don't know what is coming next which was great fun. The main event though was of course the quality of the food which was excellent throughout. We were treated to crab, squid, monkfish, pigeon and veal amongst other delights and all were exceptional. Strongly recommended.08/06/2013 00:00:00Was a little bit nervous comingWas a little bit nervous coming there, but felt at ease as soon as the champagne trolley came over. The staff were incredibly helpful and certainly knew their stuff. The Sommelier team were outstanding!!! The food was mind blowing - we went for the full tasting menu + wines, and it was definitely worth it, granted, we spend a fair bit of cash, but it was justified!08/06/2013 00:00:00Memorable Mayfair diningA Friday lunch at The Greenhouse was memorable. From the quirky mushroom meringues and salad on a spoons which arrived as amuse bouches to the addictive assorted bread ( try shallot twisted sticks with a smear of fresh butter and a sprinkling of sea salt ) we were already impressed before our starters arrived! Service was attentive yet relaxed and staff are eager to please. The set menu offers a good choice and good value. The raspberry chocolate dessert is a reason to return!07/06/2013 00:00:00Fantastic lunch and great valueWe dined with the special lunch deal. Service is exemplary, and food was delicious though some of the flavour combinations were rather unusual. Obviously a chef with great potential. Would thoroughly recommend - unbeatable value!06/06/2013 00:00:00Greenhouse deserves its reputationFantastic innovative food in a beautiful restaurant. Really interesting dishes and a great deal on at the moment. Try it!06/06/2013 00:00:00Good food and welcome staffThe venue is very cosy and pleasant. The staff was genuinely friendly, helpful and welcoming without been over the top. Food was very good, surprising and original.05/06/2013 00:00:00presentation and service excellent.presentation and service excellent. and the staff have style.
even better than Gary Rhodes 24 !31/05/2013 00:00:00Excellent food in terms ofExcellent food in terms of presentation and taste. Very nice rest and service. Lunch is definitely good value for money.30/05/2013 00:00:00Thursday lunchWe have been to The Greenhouse before and really enjoyed it so when the offer came through we decided to go again. As before the food was lovely and the service excellent. Especially impressed by the little bites before and after the meal.30/05/2013 00:00:00BEST RESTAURANT IN LONDONLittle snack (3 different one) before starter was pretty but tasty. Starter - Shrimp rabioli was very very good and white asparagus was refreshing. The mains - Salmon with black inc bread crumbs was tender and juicy. Grapefruits puree? with it was bit bitter but I thought unusual and memorable. Pork was again tender and sauce matched very well. Dessert was excellent. Sweetness was just right and mousse was light texture in the tongue. With coffee, there was again little sweet snack. Chocolate, meringue. I liked it as well. All the dish looked so beautiful and imaginative, I enjoyed it before eating. Serving staff was very helpful and friendly but I could see how efficient they were. Atmosphere and deco was chic and calm - very good taste.30/05/2013 00:00:00A wonderful birthday treatI took my son to the Greenhouse as part of his birthday celebrations. What a treat a wonderful experience from start to finish. The greeting was lovely, the service impeccable and the food a real treat for the eye and the taste buds. I would definitely book again and recommend to friends.30/05/2013 00:00:00A Birthday LunchOur lunch at The Greenhouse was a birthday treat for my husband. Everything about the meal was splendid, from the environment, staff courtesy and efficiency and of course the extremely high quality of the food. Towards the end of our stay I happened to mention the fact that it was my husband's birthday the following day and before we left he was presented with a plate of sweetmeats and a piped "Happy Birthday". What a lovely time we had!29/05/2013 00:00:00Foodie PerfectionBooked dinner as a treat for my husband's birthday. We had a really wonderful evening with superb food and service. We booked the TT 6 course menu at £55 and it was outstanding. We loved the puff of mushroom/truffle amouse bouche. The tomatoes with mozarella ice cream was wonderful. The cod was delicate, the lamb melted in the mouth. The boozy ice lolly was hilarious! The grapefruit desert was a surprise success (we both hate grapefruit) and the petit fours were great fun. Wine menu a bit daunting at first but options to suit most budgets - our bottle was £30. Our meal came to £188 with service, slightly less than we spent at Heston Blumenthal's Dinner and for quality it was on a par with that if not better. Perfect for a special occasion.28/05/2013 00:00:00Fantastic lunch at the Greenhouse;Fantastic lunch at the Greenhouse; very attentive wait staff but not over the top; beautifully presented and delicious food, perfect size portions for lunch; nice ambience despite being quite quiet (Tuesday lunchtime. I especially appreciated the extra touches that seem to be forgotten in a lot of restaurants popping up in London - the wine matching to food, the amazing amuse bouche both at the start and end of the meal, innovative presentation and tidy and clean décor. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a little extra wow at lunchtime, such good value with the toptable deal. My friend was very very impressed as was I. Thank you!28/05/2013 00:00:00Outstanding!We were here on Saturday to celebrate my Father in Laws 70th Birthday. We had read all the reviews and I have to say this restaurant really lived up to all those positive reviews and in fact, I'd go so far as to say, it exceeded expectations! I have eaten in many good London restaurants and this ranks as one of the best meals I've ever had, if not one of the best. The service was amazing and spot on and the food was incredible. I can't recommend this place highly enough - it is outstanding in every way. All the unexpected, added extras, the amuse bouche, the canapes, the chocolates with coffee, were served with such panache and and made the whole experience a truly memorable one.25/05/2013 00:00:00Excellent food and serviceI took a client to lunch here on the Top Table set lunch meal at £25 per person. firstly this was the only menu they brought which was good - and not embarassing to the client or me. Nice choices of tomato salad (sounds boring but it was fantastic) and meat; Then cod (we both had that - beautiful) or rabbit; and we upgraded to cheese (great plate of quality and quantity) for an extra £6.
service was excellent.
Lots of space between tables.
Total including 12.5% service charge for the two of us with coffee and wine was £106.
Terrific quality, service and value.
I will go back.23/05/2013 00:00:00Deserves another Michelin Star! The contemporary interior design and modern place settings set the perfect background for the spectacular food we were served this week.
Not only was the food visually stunning it was equally as delicious too. We enjoyed the kind and attentive wait staff as well. Cant wait to go back to London for another memorable, very special evening at The Greehouse.23/05/2013 00:00:00Great night out, wonderful memoriesNot only is the food greatly original and tastes wonderful, its presentation is also beautiful. The chef surprised us with his association of flavours in the 'discovery menu', but also the texture of the dishes which in one cases felt like eating a truffle cloud!
The wine list is impressive, and has a wide range of prices. We were guided to trying a delicious Burgundy white which we ended taking its reference for future purchase.
Highly recommended!18/05/2013 00:00:00ExquisiteThe Greenhouse is a true delight. From the moment you arrive from the main street you become amazed at how Mayfair can be transformed into an intimate dining experience from the unique entrance through to the simply beautiful interior decoration.
And the food too is a delight, as is the service from knowledgable and professional staff.
Yes it is expensive but here you really pay for what you get.
Outstanding.16/05/2013 00:00:00Had an exceptional lunchWent to the greenhouse last week, because a friend of mine had recommended it. Even if I am working in the Michelin world, I found this restaurant outstanding with a great value quality-money, excellent service and awesome food. We had a gluten free pax and they take a lot of care with her, and swap different dishes just to adapt to her taste and without gluten.
Many thanks for a nice lunch menu!15/05/2013 00:00:00Wow! Another fantastic mealWow! Another fantastic meal at the Greenhouse. We tried the 8 course Discovery menu, which has recently been changed. The crab and mint jelly starter was amazing. Pigeon breast was one main which we had never tried before. It was delicious! The gin fizz lollipop (as a between course) was superb as were both desserts. The service was impeccable with comfortable conversations from our waiter and waitress throughout the night. It was not a cheap night (as we had a bottle of champagne!) but as the food is so good it really is worth splashing out. We will return :-)10/05/2013 00:00:00What a night - PerfectionMy Wife and I visited the Greenhouse for dinner last Friday to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We both had some of the most exquisite food (and drink) we will probably ever eat. Both of us had for the Discovery Menu which is an 8 course sampler menu that the Chef decides what to give you. As we didnt know what we would be eating we asked the Sommelier give us what he thought would best complement each course. This was not only great fun but he chose perfectly every time. For each course the staff explained everything about the course and the Sommelier explained why he had chosen the wine for each dish. The service was absolutely faultless and the ambience perfect for the occasion.
We will definitely be back.
THANK YOU!10/05/2013 00:00:00Wonderful dinnerA really excellent dinner. Service and ambience excellent. The meal ( we had the tasting menu at £90) was superb. A great tomb of a wine list, but a sommelier selection of wines under £60 was excellent. The 4 of us universally said that it was the best meal we had ever eaten in London and probably the best in the uk.
Beg, steal or borrow to get a table and you will not be disappointed. Wonderful !09/05/2013 00:00:00Creative food and great serviceA fantastic hidden gem! It's not just lunch or dinner, but a dinning experience. From the moment the very inventive amuse bouche arrived to the leaving cookie gift, it's an exquisite experience. The food is inventive and presented beautifully. The chef plays with textures, flavours and presentation. It's a food heaven!
The beauty is that each dish is light and you leave feeling full yet not heavy, even if you had all 3 courses and the amuse bouche.
I'd recommend it to anyone who loves good food. A great place to impress a business client as well.09/05/2013 00:00:00Excellent restaurantThe setting really is an oasis in the urban setting of Mayfair. To enter you stroll through a lovely garden, and on arrival your party will be seated while an array of courteous staff nod and greet you warmly. The food, presentation and service are superb.07/05/2013 00:00:00Very good but not cheap vs peersVery good food - our starters in particular (crab with mint jelly; langoustine) were imaginative, complex, and delicious (we went for slightly more classic mains of lamb and veal). If you enjoy wine, the sommellier is excellent - give him an idea of what you like and be adventurous! We had a lovely Greek red which was delicious and - in contrast to most of the wine list, which we thought had too high markups compared to similar status London restaurants - excellent value. Overall, we would definitely recommend the Greenhouse.04/05/2013 00:00:00Unbelievably Outstanding! It had been a while since I last visited The Greenhouse so I wasn't expecting to be wowed as y last visit had been amazing;. But how wrong was I. I couldn't fault a single thing. We had the 3 course a la carte menu ay £75 per person. It was worth every penny. The food experince is always a delight. It never fails to amaze me. The service was spot on; not too overbearing, yet I could get the attention of anyone whenever I needed. There was no pretentiousness about the place and I got the feeling we could have chosen the cheapest options of everything and the staff wouldn't have turned their noses up at us. And best of all, it's like a little oasis in London. Perfection!04/05/2013 00:00:00Simply wonderful!Amazing experience from the moment you step inside. Great service, although a couple of misunderstandings due to somewhat weak English of some waiters. This has not spoiled the experience in any way though. We both had the Taster menu - great combination and well thought-out progression of flavors. A celebration for taste-buds!03/05/2013 00:00:00the perfect mayfair spoteverything about this restaurant is perfect, food, wine, service, location. Just go//deserves more M stars.01/05/2013 00:00:00FabulousWent for lunch very recently (01:05:13) on the basis of my companion having eaten there many years ago for a very touching occasion. His father got a CBE and the family celebrated there and very shortly after, well.... Suffice it to say, it was a great experience on two counts. One it was magical seeing his son visit a very special place and seeing his face light up to be there and have those memories but, two, it was an afternoon of beautiful food and excellent service. A joy; on all counts. I sincerely hope, living in chester, to visit again.01/05/2013 00:00:00ianpJust as good as before . My friends were blown away . Just a terrific evening and no fuss even although we were very late30/04/2013 00:00:00Amazing FoodHad the pleasure of an exceptional meal on Saturday evening. We chose the Seasonal Taster Menu and everything including the Amuse Bouche was incredible with standout Morrel, Beef, deserts on a stick. Also highly recomend the cheese board which had some wonderful choices on.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the Sommelier chose an excellent wine for us which complemented all the food
Overall an excellent meal in lovely relaxing surroundings and we would highly recomend27/04/2013 00:00:00Superb TastingEverything about The Greenhouse is first class. We were particularly pleased with the Tasting menu. In many Michelin star restaurants this can be overwhelming. Not here. It was extremely well thought out and beautifully presented.26/04/2013 00:00:00AMAZING!One of the best places I have ever been. Outstanding food, fabulous service and great value with the deal. Will 100% go again! Amazing!26/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent as alwaysGreat lunch... Fun, Value and Service were all first class25/04/2013 00:00:00The GreenhouseMy wife and I often go to various business lunches in restaurants comparable to The Greenhouse. Over all this rates the top of the pile.
We cannot fault anything.24/04/2013 00:00:00Booked a lunch with my parentsBooked a lunch with my parents to celebrate their wedding anniversary. I had been a few times over 10 years ago when I used to work in the West End so was keen to visit again. The interior was sophisticated, the outside garden entrance was very tranquil and you would never guess you were round the corner from the hustle and bustle of London. A real oasis. We had the lunch set menu which was excellent value and the food was delicious. The service was attentive yet not obtrusive. Excellent place for a special lunch. Will definitely be back again soon!24/04/2013 00:00:00Special night out in LondonWe had a wonderful night at the Greenhouse, where the standard of service (that had a bit of fun and flair) was only matched by the food. It could be compared to Attica in Melbourne, Australia!
The menu based on spring vegetables was a hit and my wife is still raving about the quality of the cheese trolley.
It was a special occasion, but the Greenhouse is sure to be on our list of places to revisit when we are next in London.24/04/2013 00:00:00Outstanding food, outstandingOutstanding food, outstanding advice on wine (fabulous Burgundy for £90 "only").19/04/2013 00:00:00A great experienceI booked at the Greenhouse for a special celebratory meal for my Dad's 70th Birthday. The whole experience was amazing. We had the First taster menu, which was exceptional, plus they swapped the meat dishes for great fish dishes as both my Dad and I don't eat meat. The service was excellent without being intrusive, and atmosphere was friendly and relaxing.
I would thoroughly recommend the Greenhouse for that special occasion or if there's someone you want to spoil or impress, as the food is divine, the whole experience is lovely, but you couldn't afford to go every week!
I'd definitely go back.
Julie11/04/2013 00:00:00Impressive lunchGreat value if you go for the three courses with wine for £25. Really tasty and beautifully presented. There was also a nice balance to the menu so you will find something that takes your fancy even if you are a fussy eater. Lovely surroundings and very friendly staff. A definite must.10/04/2013 00:00:00Well worth a visitA very pleasent evening and we would like to commend the sommelier on his knowledge of wines. The food was excellent, but the real reason in our case was the cheese trolley. We will be back again and we have recommended to several people.04/04/2013 00:00:00Outstanding service and theOutstanding service and the £25 three course lunch with coffee excellent value28/03/2013 00:00:00Lovely lunch with my friendsWe visited The Greenhouse on Friday at lunch time.

We ordered 3 Lunch course. Food and service was good.28/03/2013 00:00:00Very good experienceTook my other half here as a treat for her birthday on the reduced price tasting menu. The food was very good and interesting. The way it was served was visually appealing and fun. The cheese course was immense and they gave you a good portion. The sommelier was happy to talk through wines in a budget range. All in all a very good night and I didn't mind paying what we paid.27/03/2013 00:00:00Menu was enticing and theMenu was enticing and the food certainly lived upto the anticipation. Service was fantastic, especially commend the sommelier's recommendations which were spot on.27/03/2013 00:00:00Lovely time out treatWe went on a Thursday evening, had the 6 course tasting menu special offer with wine pairings.
Restaurant had a lovely laid back buzz. The location and the decor of the place is very cosily relaxing in a luxurious Mayfair kind of way! Sommelier was great, took the time to explain the wines to us well. Food was tasty, beautifully presented. highlight was the dessert. Service was all round lovely. Would happily recommend to friends21/03/2013 00:00:00Amazing food as always. TheAmazing food as always. The presentation always brings a smile to your face and the taste does not fail to delight the palate. The staff are very friendly and exceptionally so for a French restaurant that can often be stiff. The wine is on the pricey side although very good. Overall I personally think its the best restaurant in London!21/03/2013 00:00:00great set lunchThe Greenhouse is a little hidden gem in Mayfair, great interior for a spring/summer meal with big windows and lots of light. The food is really good and those little amuse bouche and petit fours are a piece of art and really delicious. Great value. will definitely be back for more.21/03/2013 00:00:00Recommended as a special nightRecommended as a special night out - a fantastic experience, with excellent service.21/03/2013 00:00:00
