Diner Reviews
  • "Great food, perfect service, pleasant decor What else???"
    dined on 11/04/2014
  • "Great unassuming and zen like ambience, fantastic service and well executed dishes from start to finish. The set is excellent value. There are some unusual flavour combinations going on and it isnt always a resounding success, but it is worth a visit on more than one occasion. Salmon was succulent, zesty and fresh."

  • "Tucked away in a small street in Mayfair this is a classy venue with great food and superb service."
    dined on 09/04/2014
  • "Innovative cuisine, beautiful presentation and exquisite flavours. While The Greenhouse has justifiably received its second Michelin star, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Highly recommended."

  • "The restaurant has a lovely outside space but no al fresco dining. The food is what you would expect from a top restaurant, we did not have the set lunch instead we went for the a la carte and it was delicious. We would definitely come back."

  • "A perfect evening last night when my girlfriend and I dined at The Greenhouse restaurant. We travel a good deal on both business and leisure and so regularly dine at hotels and restaurants worldwide but the service, food and wine at this restaurant were all exemplary. Highly recommended."

  • "i had the pleasure of having dinner with my wife at the greenhouse. it was our first time at a two Michelin star restaurant and it was everything we could have hoped for. starting from the service that makes you feel special from the moment you step into the greenhouse garden till the end of dinner. its more then a dinner its a complete show, every dish is served in a different complementary plate with different presentation and serving. every dish is served and explained by at least 3 waiters who cater your every need, and i haven't started talking about the amazing food, the wide platter of taste and the interesting combination. the greenhouse is a must when you are going for your special event!"

  • "This is a real gourmet celebration of food tastes and well worth putting up with having every last thing explained to you in detail in a strong French accent! The tasting menu consists of several signature dishes, all small, but each one combining a range of tatses that are subtle and delicious. The cornish crab comes looking like a green egg, but the mixture of crab, mint, apple and cauliflower is remarkable. Every course (and the occasional "amuse bouche" thrown in) is a tiny, beautifully presented adventure in tastes. This is a smart restauarant in Mayfair, so was always going to be expensive. Wines are very costly, but there is a huge selection. It is for a special occasion or if you really want to impress business contacts."

  • "Having eaten at the Greenhouse in Mayfair a few years back we decided to return whilst on a recent visit to the UK, excited by the various positive reviews and the fact that the restaurant has achieved a second star in the meantime. In all honesty, we were both somewhat disappointed by the experience. Ordered a "lesser" bottle of wine, sommelier was pretentious and disinterested. Service very poor, inconsistent, long gaps in between courses and generally erratic. Table next to us received complimentary bottle of wine due to poor service (but they did order a nicer bottle of wine!) Scallop, monk fish and venison overcooked, probably as a result of poor service and the food being left on the pass. We won't be returning for a third visit."

  • "Food was as good as one could have expected. The deserts were outstanding as well as the fish which my wife said was the best she ever had! And we eat a lot of fish. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable, the sommelier in particular."

  • "This was my fourth visit to The Greenhouse and, although it makes a sizeable hole in the bank balance, it is quite simply the most agreeable dining experience to be had anywhere. In addition to the superlative quality of the food and service, it has a calm ambience (no muzak of any kind, thank goodness), the tables are sufficiently far apart to allow private conversation without having to raise one's voice at all, and everything is timed to perfection so that the evening flows naturally."

  • "I have been to the Greenhouse a number of times. From the moment you walk in till the moment you walk out you are made to feel welcome and important. The quality of service is second to none and the food is just exquisite. We had lunch from the fixed menu which was a good price and value for such a fine establishment. The wine list is amazing. We are already looking forward to our next visit."

  • "From the moment you walk in the atmosphere is excellent, the service is first class you every need is attended to and impeccable in every way. The food is fabulous, excellent choice with friendly but discreet waiting staff paying attention to you every requirement. I was so impressed with this restaurant it is high class without been condescending. I would certainly recommend the experience to anyone. Loved it."

  • "Having dined in numerous places around the world, I very rarely take the time to write reviews (shame on me I know). After the dining experience at The Greenhouse, I couldn't ignore writing about the experience. In two words, The Greenhouse is simply amazing. Everything exceeded expectations; the food, the service, and ambience. Each course was remarkable in both presentation, portion size, and most importantly, taste. Kudos to the entire staff at The Greenhouse. I will definitely be returning."

  • "We had a lovely meal, we chose the discovery menu and it was a lovely surprise every course. All the flavours went really well together and the portions were a really good size, so you weren't over faced before the end of the tasting. The breads were really tasty too and the flavoured butter. Chocolates and petit fours with the coffee were lovely too. We met the chef afterwards and he asked which was our favourite course and I forgot the venison so if you read this the venison was also lovely. The table service was really good and also the wine service, informative without being overbearing and the drinks were very well recommended."

  • "I was going there for tasting menu. Foods are very well presented but nothing is extraordinary about it."
    dined on 20/02/2014
  • "Hard to find, but well worth the effort. Classy all the way."
    dined on 24/03/2014
  • "We have eaten several times at The Greenhouse. It continues to deliver on great food and an exceptional dinner out."
    dined on 22/03/2014
  • "We had the six course tasting menu, some of the food was very dull in particular the poached egg floating in broth and the Pollock, and although the Venison was excellentt the portions were tiny. Because of the number of courses the service became quite intrusive with the theatrical unveiling and description of the food seeming to take longer than the time it took to eat it. We have eaten at many top restaurants in London and NY and The Greenhouse just felt stiff and lacking any special feeling."
    dined on 13/03/2014
  • "We went for our wedding anniversary and the food was very good. We went for the tasting menu which was great so we tasted a lot of different dishes. The service was nice. The atmosphere was ok and a bit cold, maybe because it was lunch time with few business lunches. I highly recommend the restaurant for the food for sure."
    dined on 18/03/2014
  • "After an unfortunate experience the previous day in what we expected to be a really good experience, we decided to go to the Greenhouse, and we could have made a better decision. From the amazing service we received to the very special food. Starting with the fantastic butter and bread until the dessert. Nothing failed. You have to go."
    dined on 08/03/2014
  • "Superb food & even better service, highly recommended"
    dined on 10/03/2014
  • "From the minute you enter the restaurant the service was friendly and impeccable. We chose the mystique menu which was very enjoyable and under £100 per person. The ambience was quiet but then it was a Monday night but probably more suite to romantic occasions rather than business meetings. Lovely restaurant though and I will be returning."
    dined on 10/03/2014
  • "Ate here for our anniversary and enjoyed a very delicious, inventive and beautifully presented selection of food on the tasting menu. Service was very professional and warm. Highly recommended."
    dined on 24/02/2014
  • "We had a night out with friends at the Greenhouse and it certainly made up for a memorable experience. Little details like the mouth-watering canapes upfront, the friendly, attentive service make it feel a bit more personal and 'decontractee' than its Mayfair surroundings and decor would otherwise suggest. A reasonably priced wine list and great-looking (and tasting) desserts add up to a really special night out. Hats off to the chef and staff!"
    dined on 07/03/2014
  • "We had 8 delicious courses in total and every dish was a unique experience! Above all, the service was outstanding, they made us feel very special!"
    dined on 27/02/2014
  • "We had the toptable tasting menu which was good value. The matching wines were really good. I did not like the fish course which I think would be have been better pan fried but understand why the one it was cooked the way it was."
    dined on 27/02/2014
  • "Went for my birthday with daughter who is thankfully turning out to be a Foodie too. Superb dining experience. Every bite or garnish divine. Presentation also excellent although taste more important to me. Staff attentive without being annoying. Had truffle & beef starters then turbot and venison main. Everything cooked and balanced to perfection. Have worked my way round quite a few Michelin * over the years and this was up at the top."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "Almost mechanical service. Staff are professional and polite but almost appear disinterested in engaging in conversations with patrons. Very good food and the tasting menu is superbly put together. I will go back for the food and if im rushing through my meal but if I wanted a relaxing 2 Michelin star restaurant experience, I'll probably head to another restaurant."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "First time visiting this restaurant under a £35 set lunch deal. The restaurant is located in Hays Mews, not a busy street but still a good 8-10 mins walk from Green Park tube station. The service was excellent...with more waiter and waitresses than customers and the staff were all very attentive. Food-wise, it was very good but not as amazing as what I would expect for a 2 star michelin...a little bit disappointing to be honest. I love the chocolate dessert though."
    dined on 27/02/2014
  • "Our 3rd visit & a little disappointing. Choice of food a little restrictive and although the main component was good there were minimal accompaniments and only tiny droplets of sauce. The canapés & Petit fours were excellent however. Very expensive so only recommended for special occasions ( for ordinary mortals) Nb access is very dark - needs more lighting"
    dined on 27/02/2014
  • "The food looked and tasted amazing. The service was good, but not as good as I would expect from such a restaurant."
    dined on 25/02/2014
  • "Michelin 2 star well deserved here. We had the six course tasting menu with the paired wines. Everything was superb! So even though it was £125 per person all in it was worth it."
    dined on 25/02/2014
  • "Four of us dined on a Monday lunch time on the set menu option. It was extremely good value with a glass of champagne on arrival, followed by canapes. We then had three delicious courses. We all opted for the tuna carpaccio, followed by lamb and then an absolutely outstanding pudding of pear and caramel. Delicious bread was in plentiful supply to accompany. The staff were friendly and helpful and overall it was an absolutely delightful experience. Would definitely recommend and definitely return."
    dined on 24/02/2014
  • "The food here is truly exceptional, with wonderful flavour combinations and a perfect cooking. We indulged in the Taster Menu and found the standout dishes to be the Cornish Crab and the Herb Pre-dessert. The service here was impeccable, with the food being delivered for impact but not being overly stuffy. The only letdown was the delay when we were trying to pay and leave, as a group who obviously frequent the establishment regularly seemed to take the front of house staffs attention, a very minor disappointment. Overall, an excellent foodie experience at and fantastic Michelin starred restaurant."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "The ideal place to take someone you want to impress. Very romantic too. The 'greenhouse' feel adds a Spring touch to a winter's day."
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "we tried the 6 course tasting menu. very warm welcome since i first stepped into the restaurant, with cheesy smiles on everyone. they explained the menu clearly and nice. portion is small, but we were so full when we finished 8 course (6+2 complimentary courses). Food were beautifully cooked, presentation is absolutely gorgeous. and we couldn't imagine how innovative the chef could be to combine those ingredients and flavours altogether and made a such a beautiful dish. the sauce and gravy was a bit salty for Chinese like me. But I absolutely like every dishes they served. thank you the greenhouse!"
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "Went to try the very reasonable priced lunch menu. The food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked! The service was impeccable and cannot be faulted. This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in London and would recommend the Greenhouse as a MUST TRY!"
    dined on 17/02/2014
  • "This was our third visit to The Greenhouse, and we had the 6 course tasting menu. Everything from the welcome on arrival was excellent. We were made to feel special, even though we had a late booking and were the last to leave. Each course was a work of art and the tastes in each course were complex and different. The sommelier let us indulge in reading the extensive wine list (a treat in itself), before offering some helpful suggestions. The wine we eventually choose was very good, although the mark up is steep. It is expensive, but the experience is better than most other restaurants we dine at - so worth it for a special treat. We plan to go back again."

  • "My husband & I indulged in the 6 course tasting menu to celebrate Valentines day and it was faultless. Every dish as a perfectly balanced mix of flavours & textures and the accompanying wines were well matched (even when I asked for white instead of red!). My favourite was the winter truffle with jerusalem artichoke veloute, although husband narrowly favoured the fois gras. Our dining experience was enhanced by the attentive (but not overpowering) service and the intimate ambience. One slight disappointment was that our meal was timed so that we would be finished by 9.30 (althoguh no-one booked afterwards) and that the Valentine's tasting menu was shorter than the usual one. I guess we'll just have to go back to try the longer menu!"
