The Delaunay Ratings and Reviews
Have often dined in the evening, this was the first time for breakfast. Great food and service. Thoroughly recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxed start to the day.
Great location next to theatre, food excellent
Great location in the heart of theatre land, food excellent, wine very good but pricey. They remembered it was our anniversary even though they were very busy. Thank you for a great meal prior to a great show in the company of a great person.

Took me back to the 70s...prawn cocktail and chicken Kiev all executed very well. Strange to serve chicken kiev with potato salad and an unusual flavoured cole slaw but all very tasty. Got a little fed up with the constant topping up of our water glasses but will be back...the tea looked good!

Great food and ambience and not badly priced as cream teas go... Some really surly grumpy waiters though. Almost a bit snooty!

We had an excellent brunch here with friends on Sunday. Excellent service and great food as always

A wonderful evening, made all the more special with the kind Birthday touches at the end of the meal.
as always a delight
beetroot salad is the best in town, burger cooked the way I like it and the atmosphere is buzzing. Delaunay delivers it each time we go there. The staff are very welcoming and make sure that your experience is perfect each time

The art deco interior and general ambiance is fantastic. The mixed pastries are delicious and worth sharing amongst a few people as breakfast starter. I had double eggs benedict, which was lovely. But I will definitely be back in future to try the Omelette Arnold Bennett and the Kedgeree, both looked lovely when they arrived for other members of our party
Love the Delaunay
We took guests who wanted something casual but good and they were thrilled with our choice. They were made to feel welcome and we all enjoyed both the food and drink. Service there is always tip-top and once again lived up to that reputation. A great place for Londoners and visitors alike.

The best place for Sunday Brunch
I've now been 3 or 4 times to the Delaunay and on no occasion have I been disappointed. It looks like a restaurant from France that you expect is in a film set as part of some Agatha Christie Poirot film. I love the fact that once you get past the confirmation of your booking (please don't show up without one as its really busy on a Sunday - you will be turned politely away). The service of the waiters and waitresses is outstanding from the moment the manageress takes you to your table to the speed they have got you your water and taken your order at the exact moment you are ready. This is a well drilled team and every table was happy with the service - which let us as a couple to just talk enjoy our great food and drink. Champagne, a lovely Bollinger, was ordered and starting with a dozen oysters to share we were in heaven. A healthy crab salad for both of us followed and then an authentic Beef Stroganoff for me and Calves Liver for my partner. We left poorer but happier and enriched by the experience

All round excellence
I love The Delauney - always feels as though you have been out! Doesn't apply to most restaurants, therefore the ambience is always appreciated. Heston B on next table a bonus!!
Delicious Food & Great Ambience
My sister and I had a fantastic pre-theatre dinner at the Delaunay. The decor and ambience were elegant without being pretentious. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. The beetroot salmon appetizer was pefection. The perogies were scrumptious, but a little heavy for the rest of the meal. The kedgeree was tasty, but more like a risotto than a traditional kedgeree. Very heavy on the curry (albeit mild) and very rich. The St Gallard sausage was my favorite, although the Toulouse was also very tasty. Lots of sauerkraut and delicious potato salad. Watch out for the apricot souffle. It was fantastic and as light as air, but our portion for two was enough to feed at least four. We thought that it was a little pricey for the type of food they serve, but the quality of the food, the location and superior service justified the price in the end. We would highly recommend The Delaunay to anyone looking for a filling and delicious meal in an elegant atmosphere.
Took my baby granddaughter here for lunch. I know babies can be a nightmare for restaurants but she was treated with such charm and friendliness she ended up waving to passing waiters. Had a great meal and it appears those very crusty rolls are perfect for a teething baby. Who knew?
The booking, reception and seating were outstandingly courteous, prompt and correct. Help and advice with choices were nice. Unfortunately the table waitress was overly active in a way that was intrusive: unable to ever let us empty our wine glasses and continuously pouring water etc: not relaxing. Despite the welcome no one asked about satisfaction at the end I had mixed feelings about automatically adding service. If a restaurant does that they should at least declare who gets what..
Old School splendid ambience
My friend wanted to go 'somewhere really nice' when we made arrangements to meet for dinner. I suggested a couple of places one with iconic views of London, the other 'The Delaunay'. My friend chose The Delaunay because it looked interesting and salubrious as she passed it on a number of occasions. It didn't disappoint. I arrived first and was early so a lovely greeter suggested I help myself to a newspaper as I was guided to my seat. It's a really beautiful restaurant with great staff. It reminded me of a cross between old school British charm with a hint of French opulent dining. Although not cheap, I was really pleased when the wine waiter made me feel completely at ease when I asked for help choosing from amongst the less expensive wines on the list. I didn't like the taste of the first one chosen (it wasn't bad I just didn't like the taste) and without any drama it was insisted that I choose again. The food was rich and delicious. And we talked for far longer than either my friend or I had intended ..it was such a lovely place to be . Even our usual conversation of work, gossip etc changed to the arts - opera, Micael Bourne ballets and banning social media for children. The ambience just rubbed off on us as we became part of a real 'going out occasion'. Lovely. Now that's how it's done, thank you 'The Delaunay'.
well worth a visit
Has always been well reviewed and I can see why. The service is very good and the food beautifully presented.
Buzzing Sunday lunch!
Walked in at 12.30pm on a Sunday and the place was full of clamour and atmosphere. Plenty of groups of friends, families and couples. A great brasserie with a German/Austrian twist.
The service was disappointing but the food was excellent.
Had the Viennese afternoon tea. Very good. However, prefer brunch at this restaurant
We had such a lovely time at the Delauney. The service, the food and the atmosphere was fantastic.
Already reviewed on a number of occasions. Excellent restaurant. A firm favourite

The concierge at the Corinthia Hotel where we are staying recommended it to us since we were seeing Kinky Boots that evening. Great choice! Everyone was so friendly, the food was wonderful and the ambiance lovely. So glad we went!!!
Not my first nor my last visit. Staff excellent. Food fresh and well prepared. Restaurant buzzy with a warm atmosphere
Buzzy and brazzy
I love the decor and the staff are very friendly, the food is consistent, without being exciting, it has a Jewish deli feel to it. It's not intimate, and that's it a problem, I could hear everything,..and nothing my companions were saying...good for a fun time...not a romantic one.

It can get very noisy when it's full, so I didn't enjoy it as much as a lunch there the previous month, but the surroundings are elegant, the food is good and it's all well served.
great food, fantastic service
The service was fantastic! Our party was late by 30 mins and unlike other places we weren't rushed at all. Good portion size and delicious food! We had an emergency half way through our meal and had to leave. the staff were incredibly understanding and helpful. We will definitely return to the restaurant, and would recommend it to anyone!

Four of us had a really enjoyable time in this fun busy & bustling restaurant. The food has an Austrian - German basis & all is delivered very smoothly with some style. I had the lamb casserole whilst my daughter had a beef stroganoff. Both were well cooked & delicious. It's not cheap & you pay for the privilege of the location ambience & more but for a one off trip into town it was worthwhile. Like its sister restaurant The Wolesely it's a stylish act.
Good as ever
Delicious food and amazing service. Always enjoy our visits here and it's so handy for a pre-theatre meal.
A pre- theatre meal with friends
The friendly staff and ambience of this restaurant make the experience of eating and drinking at the Delaunay very special. The quality food choice is exceptional and, although a little on the expensive side, the Delaunay is worth the occasional visit .
I´ve visited the Delaunay twice for dinner and both times were outstanding. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service is attentive and professional. The menu was varied. The first time I had the steak tartare and the second time the chicken schnitzel, both were delicious with huge portions. Great wine selection as well. Would highly recommend!
Great atmosphere for brunch!
The Delaunay has a fantastic atmosphere and is a lovely setting for brunch. When it is busy it can be really loud, but that adds to the atmosphere. They catered really well for allergies and gluten free options. The food is cooked to perfection! I recommend.
A very pleasant and well situated venue for afternoon tea. Good choice of food and excellent service.
Very good in parts could......
............and should have been very good all round. Beautiful dining room, setting and table. Good cooked breakfast but with all those pots and trinkets for everything else (sugar, ketchup, salt and 2 peppers!) they should have one for baked beans which otherwise take over a complete plate. Also I'd look at a different black pudding supplier. Being in the "ante" dining room I had to ask for service every time I wanted anything. Still it is very good!
