Diner Reviews
  • "We had an excellent experience in the Cinnamon Club. We were well looked after in the bar before dinner - they have some lovely cocktails. Our dinner was excellent. My prawns could have been a bit more spicy for me, but that's just personal preference they were very tasty. All the food we had was excellent. And we had some nice wine of course as well with our meal. Only complaint was that it became pretty warm as the dinner progressed in the restaurant - not sure if they had AC, if so it wasn't on. Service was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely return."

  • "I had the most amazing evening with my son. The food was truly outstanding. I could not fault it in anyway. The flavours were so intense yet each spice was so distinctive- how do they do it! I gave the service 4 out of 5 only because we had a 30 minute wait for our reserved table. All was forgiven when we were presented with a glass of champagne. Well worth a visit if you appreciate Indian cuisine at its very finest."

  • "A warm welcome, fabulously attentive and professional staff and amazing food. Quite an experience. We opted for the tasting menu and weren't dissappointed. One of our waiters even asked which course we preferred, seemed genuinely interested in our response and was clearly proud of what your kitchen produces. Only one critism; I pointed out that only our last glass of white wine was served cold, (the restaurant was very hot), one of the waiters apologised and said he would do something to make up for it...but didn't which was a shame, but overall a great dining experience, it certainly impressed the young lady I was dining with!"

  • "We have been here several times and like the former library setting with books on shelves around the upper walls. Busy with business meetings as we arrived at 13.30. The 3 courses + orange cocktail good value for £24 - with a meat, fish or vegetarian dish as starter and as main course. The cauliflower/cheese parcel was better than the poussin (ie chicken) dish which was a bit meagre. Sorbets nice to finish off. Great body in the Sula Dindori Indian shiraz. OK service"

  • "Service a little slow, but very eager to please. Food interesting."

  • "Great food and service. The service/kitchen was flexible enough to allow a change of course within the tasting menu. Good wine paring options. Enjoyed the stay a lot. Overall, the meat courses were better than the fish courses (doneness not always "a point")."

  • "We chose the tasting menu as the best option for sampling a bit of everything. Some of the dishes had the same spices or sauce used, which seemed like a shame and a bit cheeky considering the price of the menu. Service was good towards the end of the meal but it took 20 minutes for them to take our order. Overall, a beautiful venue, nice food, but I won't be rushing back."

  • "The food was okay, it was a bit bland for my liking. I would have perfered more flavour, and the staff to have known that I had booked the set menu rather than giving me three different menus."
    dined on 05/04/2014
  • "The food was of a reasonable standard as one would expect given the restaurant's reputation. However it did not compare well against other top London restaurant's which are in the same price bracket. Overall we expected a higher standard for the price."

  • "Another great value deal from top table. The 3 course set menu with a cocktail was perfect for a Saturday lunch. The food was excellent - wonderful flavours and presented with finesse. The service was good. The restaurant was only about half full and I think the atmosphere lost something because of this. I'd love to go back for an evening and try the tasting menu. The ladies at the Adjacent table certainly seemed to be enjoying theirs"

  • "I had my leaving do at the Cinnamon club. Was great food. everyone enjoyed it. The cake for dessert was so good asked for the recipe, which I was given by e-mail. Cannot beat that."

  • "Great atmosphere and sound. No music but no problem. Attentive waiters. Great selection of savoury and sweet. And for those who fear the Indian cuisine - pasta option! Decent bar downstairs for the after dinner conversation :)"

  • "We went to cinnamon club as first time diners of indian cuisine. We asked the waiter for recommendations since we did not know what to order. He could not have been nicer. He helped us navigate through the menu. Every dish was as great as the next, with such intense flavors!!! Only complaint is that we were seated at at table by the kitchen and service station which was very distracting."

  • "A great place for taking work colleagues or friends for an early morning meal. Great dining room and breakfast menu. They kept the orange juice and coffee flowing!"

  • "I've been to the Cinnamon Club several times with toptable and I always go for the set menu with the free cocktail. The meal was, as ever, tasty food with delicate spicing. I loved the orange cocktail. However,, we weren't in a particular hurry, and so the service was just a little rapid for my taste. I also noticed that my main had a sauce that had formed a skin, suggesting it had been sitting around for a while. So while I normally give them 4 stars, today I'm giving only three."

  • "With the beautiful setting in the old library this is one of the best places to have lunch in Westminster. The food is perfectly pitched with an amazing array of tastes and looks equally as good on the plate."

  • "I love the Cinnamon Club. The food is always fantastic and the service outstanding. The set menu is superb value."

  • "Beautifully cooked food, fairly small but well chosen menu, excellent service; can't fault it, but not cheap!"

  • "I chose the Cinnamon Club for a special occasion - a celebratory lunch - to which I invited guests who know a good restaurant when they see one. The first impression on arrival in the dining room is excellent and from the chef's starter to the selection of desserts, the food was beautifully prepared, the service was quietly efficient and the flavours were divine. I would especially recommend the duck starter and the whiting (from the set menu). One of the best restaurants in London - and my guests agreed!"

  • "I had a wonderful experience at the Cinnamon Club celebrating a special occasion. I enjoyed the strong cocktails and the intact ambience of the former Westminster Abbey library. There are plenty of food options for such an up-market restaurant. I was also wonderfully surprised at the array of meats on option, however this does mean that if you are not so adventurous with your meats (only eating chicken or lamb) than you are limited in choice. If you are not the beacon of all knowledge when it comes to food, such as myself, than be prepared to ask your waiter what the various vocabulary on the menu means or take a dive into the unexpected. Spicy dishes are easy to come by. Desserts are not to go a miss; I suggest the carrot cake dish."

  • "My wife and I booked the Cinnamon Club for lunch. This was our 5th visit and once again we were not disappointed. We both had 3 courses plus wine plus coffee. The food was superb and the service excellent. The courses were well spaced Thank you to our waiter who asked the chef if we could have a dish that was not on the lunch menu!!"

  • "We found it odd that diners in the room with us were all from out of town - Brits, Japanese, American - although the main dining room with the beautiful library had available seating. Food was good, but not terrific - overly spicy. Overall, not a restaurant we'll try again. If we had been in the main dining room, it might have swayed us. Price for two with only one cocktail was 110 british pounds. The meal didn't stand up to that."

  • "Celebrated a milestone birthday with a meal here and we were not disappointed. The food and service were excellentand when they realised it was a special occasion, we were treated to champagne; absolutely lovely place to eat."
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "The Cinnamon Club is truly unique and I would place it in my top 5 dining experiences. The former Westminster Library, which is pretty much still intact, provides a stunning contrast to the beautifully prepared food, which gives a modern twist to the traditional Indian flavours. It was my wife's birthday, so we went for the tasting menu, accompanied by the fine wines, specifically chosen to compliment each course. The menu takes you on a journey of discovery, with many wonderful taste sensations, all of which are superbly presented in the level of detail you would expect from a high-calibre restaurant. Yes, it is expensive, but as a special occasion, or if you want to wow some important clients, you must go!"

  • "The food was outstanding. The service was very good. The meal proceeded briskly which suited us."

  • "The food was really food. The service in the restaurant was very attentive, but the front of house team seemed very reluctant to help or be nice. At the end of the meal I felt the coats were thrust at me, for me to hand out to the group."
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "Had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. The service was outstanding with our waiter taking the time to accommodate the allergies in our party. The food was well presented and exceedingly flavoursome. It was a shame that I didn't get to try the desserts, but I will leave that till my next visit."
    dined on 13/03/2014
  • "I have always wanted to go to the Cinnamon Kitchen and as soon as my boss told me to take someone to lunch I jumped at the chance. When entering the restaurant the aroma was out of this world. It was extremely busy and there were plenty of waiting staff so no-one had to wait too long for their food. I had the Chicken Breast Tikka for starter and then the King Prawn curry for main. I savoured every mouthful and didn't want it to end. The wine glasses were very large so when they brought you a glass of wine it didn't look as though you had much in there. I would definitely recommend this to anyone."

  • "As for the previous times, dining at the Cinnamon Club was a fantastic moment. The food was marvelous, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Waiters were extremely nice. I will definitely come back."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "A good night out with friends. Food was delicious, but service could have been better - our cutlery was taken away after our starters and we were given dessert menus! We were also overcharged on the wine."
    dined on 22/03/2014
  • "Amazing tasting indian food, completely let down by mediocre service. Everything that should have been cold was tepid, £4 bottle of water had never seen the inside of a fridge and the £65 bottle of Pouilly Fuisse wasn't much colder , and was forgotten which meant we drank water with our starters. Likewise, unfortunately because of the logistics of the kitchen, down two flights of stairs, all the food which should have been hot was also tepid. At the end of the meal, the Head Waiter asked if we had enjoyed it , we said ' it was just okay' he was completely disinterested, concentrating far too much on making sure the 12.5% service charge of £27 was added onto the bill, in hindsight we so should not have paid that. Won't be rushing back"

  • "excellent food beautifully presented with friendly, timely, professional service! Only snag quite costly! watch out for extras even if you have a set meal. However would definitely recommend for that special occasion or pre theatre treat."

  • "Enjoybale meal from London Resturant Fortnight special menu with usual attentive service. Spolit slightly by being offered the lunch menu with slightly fewer alternatives and missing what looked an interesting lamb dish. both fish options were very tasty though, as was my wife's chicken mian dish. Drinks are rather pricy though (£5 for small cobra or kingfisher is steep). Good overall."

  • "Contemporary Indian cuisine in a great setting, with a lot of ambience. Extensive wine list. Service generally excellent, though some staff let this down."
    dined on 11/03/2014
  • "Booked a last minute dinner at The Cinnamon Club having never been before, and wasn't disappointed. Excellent vegetarian options which had as much thought put in as those for meat eaters. Great wine list, some stuff on there you wouldn't expect but great choices. Very attentive waiting staff but not intrusive so we felt comfortable carrying on a conversation at the table while our wine was discretely topped up. Well done guys, we will be back."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "A whole different standard of food. The staff were as fantastic as the food."

  • "One of the best meals I've had in London — elegant and sophisticated food."

  • "Simply put it was great food, great venue and great service."

  • "Lovely location and the food was very good. Really enjoyed the whole meal. Wine is very expensive though (£66 for an average carafe and £18 for a glass is not sensible, given the options most other top restaurants seem to manage. The list is lengthy though - it is just predominantly expensive!) I would recommend the lunch deal in general but not for a weekday lunch as the whole place was suited and booted and everyone seemed to be having business lunches. Not for a relaxed meal, which was my intention. However, it would be interesting to go back in the evening or at the weekend to see if the atmosphere is different."
    dined on 18/03/2014
  • "My friend and I ate here on 19 March and chose the £24 for 3 courses menu. Interesting selections. I had the stir fried vegetables, followed by the kofta and finished with the 3 sorbets. Nice balance. We did not take wine so, with water and coffee/tea, we had a final bill of £66. Lots of business suits and probably commercial/political meetings. Efficient service. Good meet and greet. Loos are down flight of stairs to basement. The dining area is a former library and upper level still has books in place"
