The Brasserie at Charing CrossWonderful serviceWe came here before the theatre very short of time and our lovely waitress bent over backwards to accomodate this, ensuring we knew which dishes we could order for shorter preparation time and bringing the bill really quickly. Aside from this, it was a lovely restaurant, delicious pasta dish and very reasonable for the area. I will definitely be returning to enjoy the menu in more leisurely manner!17/05/2013 00:00:00Perfect pre theatre venueThere are very few restaurants in London that take table bookings at 4.30 and this one did. This meant that the restaurant was not very busy at all and we dined in a very peaceful atmosphere. The service was excellent and the burger probably the best I have ever eaten. The dessert was heaven, a trifle that was served in a very modern way and absolutely delightful. Would I eat here again - any day.29/04/2013 00:00:00Brasserie Charring CrossClean smart suroundings, fairly quick freindly service, nice ambience not to noisy, food reasonable. Everyone in the party I was with enjoyed their food. It is everyday comfort food nothing special but menu will provide a small choice for almost everyone. Have been back to this restaurant many times over the years as it is consistent and reliable service. You could get a meal cheaper but this has qualities other quick eating places do not have therefore worth paying for that.26/04/2013 00:00:00StrandWent for pre-theatre lunch on the '3 course for £25' offer and was overall very satisfied. Great location, especially if you get a view across the river.24/02/2013 00:00:00Great place for reunionWe went to the Brasserie at Charing Cross for reunion. The venue is unexpectedly relaxing and quiet and hard to imagine that there is such a place just above busy Charing Cross station. Food was good and we just enjoyed being there without any rush order or action from the restaurant side. The view from the restaurant to see Trafalgar Square was a plus factor.21/02/2013 00:00:00Great Atmosphere, Great ValueWe visited the Brasserie at Charing Cross to celebrate a Birthday so were looking for somewhere a bit special. The restaurant delivered on this in atmosphere (it may have helped that it was Valentines day), the food was good (the passion fruit brulee was delicious) and great value for money especially when using the 3 courses and a glass of sparkling wine for £24.95 offer. We will definitely visit again.14/02/2013 00:00:00Tactful Staff, Fabulous ServiceI took my boyfriend to this restaurant for a pre-theatre dinner on Valentine's Day and where as you know where you are with restaurants in and around Soho, I have to admit that I was slightly concerned how staff would react to a gay couple who are very much in love dining together....particularly as I suspected and was correct in the assumption that I would be receiving a bouquet of roses before the meal. I couldn't have been more wrong. Right from the very beginning we received nothing other than a warm welcome from the Maitre D' and all the staff who served us during the course of the meal. The ambience was charming and our menu a 3 course pre-theatre dinner plus a glass of sparkling wine fantastic value. Couldn't recommend this enough.14/02/2013 00:00:00Great value with reasonablyGreat value with reasonably priced wines in nice surroundings and friendly attentive service25/01/2013 16:00:00family reunionI wanted to find a place with good food, plus plenty of room and an opportunity to talk with my family, one of whom was just back from Burma. We had to move the booking till a later slot, and were dealt with very politely. Service friendly and helpful, everything perfect except for one thing: the description of one of the courses on the special offer menu was, we thought, misleading: 'shoulder of lamb' was tasty but turned out to be more like hash. I have been here on many occasions, and find it an ideal place to meet and talk, whilst enjoying good, discreet service and spacious and mellow surroundings. It is extremely convenient, too, for public transport and taxis.14/01/2013 16:00:00The staff were very friendlyThe staff were very friendly and welcoming. Even better they coped perfectly with our complex allergies. The ambience was wonderful - it's very plush - and the food was beautifully cooked. I had the shoulder of lamb and my wife had the calves liver. Both were amazingly tasty, although my wife knocked a couple of percentage points off for the "ordinary" mashed potatoes. The bar was well stocked: I discovered a rum that was new to me ("Mount Gay") which was more like a very smooth liqueur than rum. Overall, we were very pleased and satisfied. It was a great way to celebrate her "significant birthday". If we are ever in town again, we would certainly consider going back.06/01/2013 16:00:00Great valueThird visit to this restuarant on toptable offers and once again we weren't disapppointed. We had 2 Amercian guests with us this time - foodies and very knowledgeable on wine too - and they were seriously impressed with the whole experience. Wait staff are so helpful and cheerful at all times. Always eager to please.20/12/2012 16:00:00Great view out onto StrandA surprising location within Charing Cross Station, great views out on to strand. We had the £24,95menu which had a great choice and the food was superb. The ambiance was very enjoyable and the restaurant was busy. This would have been an excellent rating however I was dining with friends who had a two year old, and the reaction of one waitress was very frosty at first, in contrast a second waitress went out of her way to help. Overall though a good evening.18/12/2012 16:00:00LunchLovely relaxed atmosphere, excellent service, well presented tasty food we dined for Sunday lunch & enjoyed the whole experience with the added extra of a good view.15/12/2012 16:00:00Great find!We enjoyed a delicious meal in a great location at the Brasserie at Charing Cross. We had the set menu which included 3 courses and a glass of sparkling wine for under £20. This was excellent value as each course was delicious and the passion fruit creme brulee was the best I've tasted. Unfortunately not enough time to eat the desserts as we waited 20 mins following the main course even though we gave the time we had to leave for the theatre. Would still recommend though as the location is also excellent - we had a table with great views to Trafalgar Square and the sweeping staircase leading to the restaurant is very impressive.10/09/2012 00:00:00Visited Galvins for the fourthVisited Galvins for the fourth time and was not dissappointed - excellent food and service - we will be back again16/08/2012 00:00:00Lovely setting and great valueLovely setting and great value for money on the food (we got the set menu deal) it is a little confusing as you need to walk through the hotel to reach the restaurant - could be better sign posted at the entrance to the hotel.03/05/2012 16:00:00We took 3 course special mealWe took 3 course special meal in Brasserie at Charing Cross. Although the menue was limited, the food was very good - better than the last time. However, the service was rather slow.30/04/2012 00:00:00Brasserie at Charing CrossBrasserie at Charing Cross is a great location for the theatres around Covent Garden and handy for public transport. We had 3 courses and a drink for £19.95 which were all good and the service was excellent.10/04/2012 16:00:00Booked via Toptable, but theyBooked via Toptable, but they didn't have my reservation when I arrived, however they were happy to accommodate the booking. Booked under the promotional menu which was exceptional good value for money. Have been here back in the summer under the promotional menu and my only comment would be that its not changed and to be running a promotion over a long period of time a change of menu would be a good idea. The food and service were of a very good quality.04/04/2012 16:00:00The Brasserie at The CharingThe Brasserie at The Charing Cross hotel is an excellent place to enjoy a meal in a very convenient location. We had the 3 course lunch with sparkling wine which was very good. There were 3 choices for each course with a vegetarian option. Very tasty food, reasonably priced; good ambience and lovely waitresses.29/03/2012 00:00:00
