  • "Service was slow, left waiting for just drinks for 20 minutes even though it didn't appear to be very busy! 2 of the 4 outside heaters we tried to use didn't work."

  • "We were a group of 4 ladies who had a table booked at 1230 lunchtime. The only fault really is not enough staff on at that time of day! We ended up waiting at least 20 mins to place an order for drinks then had to go to the bar in the end!! More staff seemed to arrive by 1 ish but really should have started earlier as it was very busy with few parties in. I must say however the cocktails were fab when we finally got them! We ate also and that was lovely although could have been bit hotter!"

  • "we went for a friends birthday we booked a table when we arrived the bar staff were friendly we asked to sit outside and they were more than happy to move us we were told someone would be out to take our order we waited ten minutes then went to the bar which wasn't a problem the atmosphere was relaxed we ordered a fish platter which came in good time looked great and tasted even better we went on to have two cocktails which were equally delish but the waiter was a perfectionist and did take a long time to prepare the drinks so in a busy time could be abit of a nightmare would recommend the sky lounge to anyone but to book as it filled up rather fast and the cocktails arnt the best value but perfect if your looking to treat yourself"

  • "I booked a table for 22.00 and we reach there 22.05, we still have to wait around 15 minutes for our table. The atmosphere is too noisy and we weren't expecting the massive crowd. A lot of people are sitting behind our sofa and it's hard to talk. Probably not a good idea if you want to talk. The drinks are a little bit too strong for a cocktail as well."

  • "Family evening to celebrate a birthday -the service was excellent and sharing plates were delicious-we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning Especially in the summer would think the outside area would be amazing with the fabulous views over the city -would be a great summer afternoon for tea!"

  • "I booked the Sky bar for cocktails for my sister and boyfriend on Friday night thinking it would be a nice treat. We arrived, no one downstairs in the hotel pointed us in the right direction to the bar which was incredibly unhelpful. When we got upstairs to the bar we hadn't even spoken to the host about our table booking before the bouncer told my boyfriend incredibly rudely to take off his smart jumper with a hood. He only had it on to keep warm outside and would have taken it off as soon as we sat down. He was wearing smart shoes, trousers and a shirt otherwise! The bouncer was just so rude. We sat at the table and were served by a lovely young man. The drinks were awful, too expensive for what they are. Not proper cocktails at all."

  • "Firstly i would like to say i booked a table for me & my partner for VALENTINES,we arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation to be greeted by two rude and obnoxtious security men.we walked over to the lift were there was a que of people waiting the doorman approached us,partner was wearing smart plain white loubitine footwear clean, brand new, a smart shirt expensive jeans the way he spoke to my partner was disgusting trying to belittle him infront of everyone he was well presented but the doorman were been very difficult . They wernt allowing us to eat at skybar i was very upset as this spoilt our night thankfully the restaurant over the road tapenyaki were very accomadating an took good care of us ! i will never revisit skybar"

  • "Booked a table by the window online, even confirmed that this was a requirement of the booking, more than 2 months in advance. Arrived to a very loud din, crammed in, table in middle of restaurant, no view, dumped at a table, no menus, no service, left after 1/2 hour of being shoved past & ignored. If you want a loud night out, over-priced drinks and overpriced "ping" food with 3 deep at the bar to be ripped off for a cocktail all to pay for a view you cant see as there are too many people, then yeah, this is for you. Such a shame, could have been beautiful."

  • "I booked a table for 2 on a Friday as a birthday treat. The bar is beautiful and the views were fab. Unfortunately our table was about 4 tables in so I was struggling to actually see the view. This was a bit poor when we had booked in advance. The cocktails were delightful, huge selection and tasty! A table opened up by a window so we moved and felt more comfortable. But a large party sat next to us which kept growing and we felt completely squashed. It got to the point that one gentleman took our single chair from our tiny table for two and sat in it, furthermore he leaned back resting his elbow on our table. It just completely spoilt our evening and the waiting staff did nothing, not asking him to move or offering us another table."

  • "I'd heard great things about sky lounge and as a resultchose it over Harvey nicks for afternoon tea. Wrong decision- it was scruffy, amateur and the only good thing was the view."

  • "The views were great and in a location like that I would expect the drinks etc to be quite expensive. However I would also expect the drinks to be good. Myself and my guest got a bloody mary and a mojito originally and were bitterly disapointed. For the price that we were paying for the cocktails I would expect the mojito to be made with brown sugar not sugar syrup. It was unfortunately outrageously sweet and I could not finish it. The bloody mary had not been appropriately seasoned and tasted like watered down tomato juice. We moved onto gin and tonics afterwards and were given lemon in them when we asked for slices of lime. so we left soon after those drinks. Beautiful views but appalling drinks."

  • "It was great to enter a bar and feel welcome, we were shown straight to our table and the few hours we were there, were highlight of our night. Great service."

  • "It took me 3 calls to try book a table for 9 at the sky lounge and requesting the menu which I never recieved. I ended up doing this on line. The day was ruined by poor staff and bad attitudes including over an hour wait for food and then 5 dishes being forgotten including sides that then came at the end of the meal no discount offered or apology just a sorry my fault i forgot. We asked one gentleman at the bar to take our picture, he said no as he was far to busy (there was one other couple he was serving) I then had to wait for 10 minutes to settle the bill I am 9 months preganat and he had no problem letting me stand and wait for him (In fairness he did then offer the cheapest drink free on the bill). Avoid if you want good service"

  • "We were treated by our sons for our 35th anniversary and it was special from start to finish. We started our evening with drinks at the Sky Lounge for a stunning view of Leeds by night. We dined at the ground floor restaurant where the food and service were second to none. The whole experience made our 35th anniversary really special. Well done, Doubletree."

  • "Booked as a group of 7 to celebrate a birthday, could not fault the experience. Greeted by a friendly front of house who showed us to our seating area, near the window with a view of leeds as requested. Good prompt service, in fact faster than us as it took everyone so long to choose their cocktails and then their food. Not a place to sit down for 3 courses but great for sharing and chatting whilst soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying your drink. It was a very busy night but we didn't feel that it impacted on our night whatsoever. Would go again for further special occasions."
    dined on 21/09/2013
  • "the only acceptable bit was the desert we were left 20 mins before even being offered drinks i ordered a steak rare and it came well done, no one asked how our meals were during or afterwards, we were never offered coffees or deserts and the place was quiet with plenty of staff on i would never recommend this place to anyone especially for the price when the service was lacking and the food wasnt as requested"

  • "Amazing views of Leeds, elegant and classy establishment"
    dined on 24/04/2013
  • "The bar is too small to successfully house a bar and restaurant together. If you want to eat you must do so next to people either on or ready to go on a full night out in the city you're watching over. The service is terrible, although that's mainly down to lack of staff than a discredit on the staff themselves, and the food menu almost negligible. Only go if you want a drink, or else you'll be disappointed."
