Shanghai BluesI will returnGreat food and cocktails! Service was average. Waiter talking to the bar man while serving our table, taking food away which we hadn't finished. We arrived at 9:15pm Sunday evening and at 10:45pm they were making it obvious it was time to leave. All that said they were actually nice and I will return for sure. It was very good value and a great setting.03/03/2013 00:00:00Celebration mealI took my girlfriend here for a new job celebration meal. We have been to menu of the top restaurants in London but shanghai blues was very different in terms of ambience. The food was delicious especially the seabass. It was very relaxing listening to the music whilst eating and the cocktails were also very good23/02/2013 00:00:00Good dim dumVery good dim sum; a little pricey, but well made. Service excellent. Good location too. Near Chinatown but on a much quieter stretch nearer Holborn.10/02/2013 00:00:00Wonderful FoodThe food as ever was fantastic, the service attentive without being intrusive and a wonderful atmospere. A fitting place for a birthday celebration.02/02/2013 00:00:00Excellent food but not cheapThere were 14 of us and we were placed in one of the function rooms. As a result we had our own waitress who was excellent and very attentive. The food was excellent, well made, and flavourful. We place itself is pretty and impressive is a great choice for a large party, especially as the food comes family style making it easy to share and good for the kitchen to stagger the dishes.
The only slight downside was the cost - typically Chinese restaurants offer good value for money, but possibly here because of the set menu we ordered, the cost per person came out on the higher end (£70+ per person). Overall recommended and I will go back again!11/01/2013 00:00:00Good dim sum!!Good selections of dim sum! At half price can't ask for more!! Waitresses a bit moody but that's ok with the value for money !30/12/2012 00:00:00Dim Sum heavenWould recommend Shanghai Blues for Dim Sum to anyone - very interesting choice, fabulous flavours and very good value at the weekend.29/12/2012 00:00:00Mums birthdayTook my mum out for a birthday meal. Service was very attentive indeed and the food was of a good quality. The setting is small, but inviting with a good ambience. A couple of the dessert options were off the menu, but we can forgive that as we were the last service. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.29/12/2012 00:00:00Best Chinese food in London? It's a close call, between Hakkasan, Yautcha and here. But I personally think the ambience here is better, and the cocktails are absolutely mindblowing. Get the belly pork in vinegar, it is sublime.02/11/2012 00:00:00Great food as alwaysI've been here several times and the fusion dim sum menu never fails to impress. It was quite busy this time and service wasn't as good as it could've been.27/10/2012 00:00:00Delicious food, great serviceReally impressed with this place, definitely my new favourite Chinese in London! Cannot recommend it enough. Had delicious dim sum, some tasty noodles and the service was impeccable. Meal for two (4 dim sum dishes, 3 pieces each plus a vegetarian noodles dish) plus drinks was £30. Love it!17/10/2012 00:00:00JenVery nice food and good service, though portions extremely small on the fixed menu (to the point where we think we made a mistake on the number of people dining).03/08/2012 00:00:00End of project do...Thirteen people celebrated around a round table and enjoy excellent service and excellent food. Not your average Chinese restaurant and not your average restaurant prices but for special occasions and celebrations really recommended. Will definately go again.09/07/2012 00:00:00
