Diner Reviews
  • "Grumpy waiter and long wait for food made this less than the experience we were hoping for. Especially given the cost. Maybe just go for a glass of fizz and certainly not if you're in a rush."
    dined on 12/04/2014
  • "Service was great, attentive waitress and a bit of banter as well which is nice. Food was a little salty in places and manager was helpful. Quiet chilled atmosphere on a Saturday night good to be able to hear each other for a chat. Decorated plate with HBD but dessert itself wasn't nice (millionaire shortbread despite waitress recommending it) so kind of spoilt the birthday presentation. Not bad. "

  • "Great value on the TT offer of 2 courses plus a glass of pink fizz for £19. three choices for each course, OK but not as generous as some restaurants. Starters of pork terrine and mushroom risotto were excellent. The experience was slightly marred by the overintrusive background music, which is unnecessary in a restaurant like this where there is more than a gentle background hum from the diners!"

  • "It was my daughter's 13th birthday and we planned a Mother&Daughter day out in London, ending with dinner and theatre. I booked Searcy's St Pancras for a late breakfast/brunch and we sat inside the brasserie. The staff were all excellent and very helpful. The food was lovely, and I am hard to please! The Grand muffin breakfast and Chargrilled Bacon Butty were made with good quality ingredients, well presented and tasted great. Staff then presented my daughter with a complimentary plate iced Happy Birthday with handmade chocolate truffles and fresh raspberries, she was thrilled! Thank you to all the staff who were very kind and gave us such a lovely start to our day."

  • "St Pancras Grand Café/Brasserie is a regular and favourite venue for lunches or dinners with friends. Its location is very central/accessible, it offers a good range of menus, often with special offers, and in a stylish venue. It consistently delivers a relaxed experience to suit many people."
    dined on 10/04/2014
  • "Good central location and atmosphere for a business meal. Food good, though some additional vegetarian options would make it even better. Food enjoyed by all attendees and the service was very good, as the team remembered me which added to the emphasis of the meeting."

  • "Good location to meet husbands parents so we have been twice. As soon as there, I thought, why have we done this again? wasn't great last time! Lovely building. We had so many waiting staff, this didn't work. I changed my order few minutes after my ordering (i know annoying). They bought my initial meal. Didn't make a fuss as I changed it, but when bill came, they charged for the more expensive meal which didn't have. Also someone chose one thing from set menu & a pud from other menu, which they were positively encouraging. No wonder; they charged for the set menu for 2 courses & the pud on top. Wasn't expecting set menu price but not both! We ordered coffees which came ages before pudding, we finished before puds came! Don't bother!"

  • "It is always a pleasure to visit Searcys St Pancras Grand. The food was very nice and the service attentive without being overbearing."
    dined on 01/04/2014
  • "Eaten here a few times and the service has got worse and worse and slower and slower. Doesn't help that the waiters all stand together gossiping behind the central counter whilst customers try and get their attention. This time we booked an offer and then had to negotiate to actually get the offer!? Also no record of our booking, when they found it they said I'd booked for 2 hours earlier. I hadn't. Food is entirely average but has crept up in price. After several visits that will be my last."
    dined on 02/04/2014
  • "Many people go for the other option of The Booking Office but for me Searcy's nails it every time. Working close to Kings Cross and often having business lunches and social dinners I am always more pleased by Searcy's on all counts. This time it was a quick lunch with a friend on a deal (2 courses and a glass of Fizz) There was a good choice on our menu, served beautifully and with grace. I mentioned we were on the clock" and had 90 mins. They kept service moving but never rushed us and we had time for coffee which made it feel like a leisurely lunch. All good!!!"

  • "Great dining experience, food was amazing - highly recommend the steak! Good service, very friendly service."
    dined on 20/03/2014
  • "Fifteen pounds for two course on Mother's Day in London is excellent value (don't forget 12.5 % service charge though. It all started well enough with a friendly greeting but then went downhill after that when the wrong drinks arrived and there was a long wait between courses. The biggest irk though was when my husband had shell & bones in his seafood cocktail and the server dismissed it this happens! We pushed for an apology but rather than say sorry our waitress fetched the manager who agreed to knock the price of the starter off the menu, but when the bill came we were charged for 3 courses at 20.00 and 1 at 15.00 but, my nephew only had 2 of the set menu courses and ordered an ice cream for which I was charged an extra £5.00. No saving!"

  • "Gorgeous surroundings, excellent food, attentive and charming service. It's a perfect place for a quiet Saturday brunch: this is our first stop whenever my mother comes to town."
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "The St Pancras Grand is a striking restaurant. Dark, beautiful and elegant inside, but with friendly service which doesn't make the place too imposing. We dined on a 2 course set menu, which is perhaps not the greatest judge of food in a restaurant, but was ok. The decent (if expensive) wine and champagne selection, service and atmosphere made up for it."
    dined on 06/02/2014
  • "A friend and I booked the champagne breakfast 2 for 1 offer at top table. We had previously enjoyed breakfast at The St Pancras Grand and decided to see if it was as good as we remembered. We weren't disappointed. Good service, value for money and a very relaxing breakfast. Highly recommended."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Searcys St. Pancras Grand is a lovely place to enjoy a meal whether travelling on Eurostar or just in the St. Pancras area. The staff are pleasant and efficient. The food is good and well presented. It has a lovely atmosphere and I would recommend it."
    dined on 28/01/2014
  • "The biggest plus for this restaurant is that despite being in a prime location the prices are very reasonable. I had the offer, via Toptable, and for £19.99 for 2 courses and a glass of fizz you cannot go wrong. The choices on the specials menu were great. The oysters were amazing and once again not over priced. My daughter is a vegetarian and she was delighted with the choices offered. The service was good and not too "in your face", pretentious or pompous! All in all good value for money."

  • "Excellent lunch, well designed menu, great food, thoroughly happy with the whole experience"
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "Disappointing really. We waited a long time for pre dinner drinks to arrive, even though the restaurant was not busy at 6.30pm. An hour later we still had not had an order taken so had to request it. My son's steak was served medium to well done when he had requested medium rare. The sea bass was sitting on top of vegetable water. The crab tempura was almost none existent. One of us had the chocolate dessert ( I forget the name ) and said it was very good. Would not go there again."

  • "Decent set menu at lunch time - good service and excellent Kings X location."
    dined on 06/03/2014
  • "We went for the £19 two course and a glass of bubbly deal. I think we got what we paid for. There was a limited choiuce and the food was nothing more than okay. The veal that I had was just warm enough not to complain, but not great. Service was fine, but the waiting staff were clearly pushed. Really nice venue and I would come back, but eat from the al la carte next time."
    dined on 07/03/2014
  • "I had been at Searcys before and I liked it then. I took a few friends there recently but I was really embarrassed. As soon as we entered there was a smell of fried fish everywhere. The bread was extremely hard and impossible to eat, the starters were average . I had oysters which were OK but the rest of the group had cooked food which they did not like. One member from the company had fish and chips which was burnt and returned as soon as it had arrived. My friend ended up eating nothing ! I don't think I will be returning there again!"

  • "Very attentive service by Aardi, gentleman coming from Lithuania. A few hiccups but thankfully nothing major. Good quality food, tasty...efficient service."
    dined on 07/03/2014
  • "Visited this restaurant with a friend for dinner after work. Really nice atmosphere inside and a great location if you are around St Pancras or jumping on the Eurostar. The food was really nice and there was quite a good selection. Maybe a little bit pricey once you start adding on the side dishes. Wine was also quite pricey- £9.00 for a glass of Sauvingon Blanc. Service let the place down. The waitress was nice enough but things took a long time to arrive, order your next glass of wine 10 minutes before you need it! When the food was brought it was very quickly placed on the table and then the waiter ran away- without asking if we would like anything else which we did. Perhaps we caught them on an off day- I would go back and try again,"

  • "A beautiful restauarant with a lovely atmosphere, we had breakfast at Searcy's and our waitress was lovely. I look forward to returning soon"

  • "Booked through Toptable for a breakfast special offer before getting the Eurostar. Pleased with the price of the offer, would have thought it was expensive without it."
    dined on 06/12/2013
  • "Unfortunately, the listed fish was no longer available, but we were generally happy with what was offered. Some of our group chose from the a la carte menu, which was good. Service was fine"
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "I dined in St Pancras Grand Brasserie with 2 friends who hadn't visited before. Like me, they enjoyed the venue, ambience and menu options very much. Location is so accessible. Offers may the experience more affordable. The interior design looks sophisticated and yet courteous staff maintain a high standard of customer care while keeping the overall service relaxed and informal, not stuffy. I regularly lunch/dine in this venue and will continue to do so."

  • "Afternoon Tea was a great pleasure - We were celebrating my sister's 50th Birthday & they piped this across the cake plate which made her feel very special - the waitress took our pictures & was polite and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble - service & ambience was very soothing. The food was very good but far too much & we felt stuffed and could not manage to eat our tier of sandwiches, warm scones & cakes. The chocolate cake was rather hard & very rich & the biscuits were extremely light. I ordered a coffee but go with the tea, as from the pot you get nearly 3 cups which is much better value. We had a glass of Champagne too! Really excellent value - highly recommended."

  • "I booked Searcy's as I've been many times before and always had a good experience with the food and service. On this occasion I was meeting a friend on a Friday night. The set menu wasn't very inspirational and I felt very much rushed along to order (obviously table turnover is important to them). The food had no taste at all, I would have been better off going to Benugo's or elsewhere. Admittedly the bread roll was quite tasty though. It's a very impressive restaurant looks wise and atmosphere wise, just the food is a bit tired already. I won't be a repeat customer."
    dined on 31/01/2014
  • "Had been before and enjoyed it but had a terrible table at far corner of restaurant (go for a booth if you can), poor service and mediocre food. All in all it was lacklustre and even with a special offer, not amazing value for what we got."
    dined on 26/02/2014
  • "Finding a place to eat near Kings Cross at a reasonable price was proving a challenge. I didn't have high expectations of Searcy's to begin with but it was a pleasant surprise and have returned since. The choice was small but they were interesting, potted mackerel starter and guinea fowl main were both lovely. The wine was good and reasonable priced. Very good value."
    dined on 27/11/2013
  • "This is the second time I have eaten at Searcy's and it is very good value. It was quite busy and the staff were a little rushed so we had to wait a while for our wine, but everything was served with a smile."
    dined on 16/01/2014
  • "The restaurant is ideally located on the upper concourse at the station. Ideal if you want a quick meal before catching a train. Prices are in line with other London restaurants of a similar quality but a very comfortable place to spend a couple of hours. We had space to put our bags by the table which is a small point but important if you want to keep an eye on your luggage."
    dined on 23/02/2014
  • "Birthday tea for a group of friends so apalling service was not detrimental to our enjoyment of the event but I would never book for a romantic meal for two. Scones were the best I've tasted but sandwich bread was a little hard so they'd probably been made quite a while back and not a great selection of fillings. Lovely looking restaurant and a good deal on a 2-4-1 but definitely not worth a visit at full price."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "Service was extremely slow, but spoke with the manager and he as really nice about it and gave us a free glass of bubbly each. The special offer is good (2 courses for £19) however, the wine list is quite pricey..."

  • "We celebrated a family birthday over lunch and received excellent service and the food was fabulous - that was before they knew it was a celebration and after finding out really up'd their service! Lovely atmosphere (we were there for Sunday lunch) and wonderful ambiance. Food was delicious and nothing too much trouble for the staff. Highly recommend and will be returning."
    dined on 19/01/2014
  • "I chose the £19 for two courses plus a glass of fizz menu, which had a good selection of dishes on, catering to most tastes. However, perhaps I should have ordered something else, as the pork terrine was disappointing taste-wise and the texture was a little odd, I think it could be improved being made into a coarse pate instead. The main of butternut squash risotto was tasty, but I could have done with a portion twice the size - I was still hungry when I got home despite two courses and a bread roll!! Lovely atmosphere though, very comfy banquette seats, and very attentive waitresses. I will be back, but I will probably order a la carte instead, perhaps the dishes have a little more to them."
    dined on 20/02/2014
  • "Went recently for the 2 courses & glass of fizz for £19 offer. The atmosphere was nice, the service was very good and the food was good value as part of the offer. Only downside was the choice was limited from the set menu, and the toilets were a bit dingy."
