The service was very professional and when it came to the food that was top class as well. We both had duck with belly pork which was cooked to perfection with excellent vegtables as well. As this was an Italian restaurant we also ordered a side dish of zuchini which was also excellent. Overall an excellent evening in a first class restaurant and thouroughly recommended!18/02/2013 00:00:00Birthday LunchMy Boyfriend and I attended Sasso one afternoon for a Birthday meal out and were both thoroughly impressed, the staff were very friendly and attentive, they even moved us to a better table than the one we had first booked, the food was very high quality, in particular the Seabass, Rose' wine is a little expensive but the house white wine is just as nice for a cheaper alternative.
First course and main course were prepared very quickly, the only downfall was we had to wait a little while longer for dessert to arrive, due to the atmosphere and other impressive factors this was not an issue.
Very clean and relaxed enviroment.

We had not seen each other for a year and Sasso has always been a favourite, and Dominica and the team did not disappoint. To celebrate we started with a bottle of the Ferrari Italian Sparkling - excellent, especially at the price. The rest of the meal was excellent, and we managed to easily lose 4 hours catching up, with the service always attentive but never hurried. Fantastic value including Fig and Ham starter which was brilliant and then mains of Gnocchi (lovely) and mussel pasta (good but not quite up to the standard of other pasta dishes I have eaten). We then moved on to deserts of Semi-freddo (to die for!) and Lemon Tarte (ditto!). All this with wine for under £30 per head. What more could you ask?03/12/2012 16:00:00Brilliant Saturday lunch3 of us went to Sasso's - first time for a Saturday Lunch. We had a mix of dishes from the lunch menu and a la carte. In addition one of the party could not decide which pasta to choose, so Dominica (excellent front of house manager) asked her to name her ingredients and the chef created an excellent pasta dish. Brilliant service. The restaurant ensured that our choices were spread across the two menu prices to minimise the cost, leading to an excellent value lunch (£70 including drinks). Where else could you have 2 utterly fresh, sometimes unusual and always delicious courses for under £9? As it needed to be a speedy early evening dinner so made use of the pre-theatre menu and again the food was excellent. I had what turned out to be a Milanese fishcake (which has a slightly confusing description on the menu - certainly lost in translation!). But the quality certainly was not - fantastic! My wife had the fish of the day and again thoroughly enjoyed it, especially with a side order of chips which must not be missed! What can I say? Starters - Sasso Salad is now even better, Mixed meat was beautiful and tasty; pasta great as usual. Mains - Lasagne imaginative and different - the best I have ever had! Pasta dish again bril and chicken superb. Desert - all we can say is thank goodness the Semi Fredo is still on the menu! So the new menu is even more of a winner! Well done!
