They even read my comment when booking that it was for a birthday and presented a plate of petit fours at the end of the meal to my mum which was a lovely touch. The only criticism I have is that for the price, I expected the actual restaurant to be better presented. I understand that it's very old and that it's some of the 'charm', however I felt the ladies toilets were not clean and could do with a refurb. Fabulous service, great ambience and the food is quite exceptional. The special was sea bream, whole fish, with vegetables. It was beautiful, so fresh, melt in the mouth and cooked perfectly.
This is a special restaurant but, an absolute must . Don't go to Glasgow and miss it, we'll be back soon.

The menu also catered for non seafood buffs and the meal I had was cooked to a very high standard indeed. We have the 2 course lunch menu for £12 - house white for £20 and cup of coffee - split between two inc. tip £30 pp. Great value - the food was top quality.

Cocktail advice was offered and accepted - great bourbon sours and kir royal. Good wine advice also. Courses arrived in a timely fashion, no feeling of being rushed as can so ofter happen. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
We were pleased to have booked for 12:30 because it got very much busier around 2pm and things may have taken a lot more time then.

Service was prompt without been to pushy....but I can't be leave same problem on second visit as first had to send back Soup as it was only Luke warm. Not a great start what should be a superb lunch. Left my wife and myself then looking for faults. Would I go again answer yes after all it's the Rogano. Only hope third visit is not down to Luck.
Ps it would have been a nice touch to offer a free drink to make up for poor soup prep.11/01/2013 16:00:00Family CelebrationThe restaurant called in advance (as I had requested a birthday cake) to offer options - size, flavour etc. Despite arriving slightly early we were shown to our table immediately, they took our coats and offered us a drink whilst we perused the menu. We were offered both the set lunch special and the a la carte menu.Food, service and ambience were all superb. The waiters brought out the birthday cake and sang "Happy Birthday". They wrapped the remaining cake for us to take home.
The hospitality industry is a demanding industry to work in. The staff in Rogano's however made it look easy. We have eaten in many places where the staff have been efficient but these people were very friendly AND efficient - a winning combination.
