Restaurant Michael Nadra, formerly known as Fish Hook, is an exquisite modern European restaurant in the heart of Chiswick. The Chef proprietor Michael Nadra focuses on using the finest seasonal ingredients with interesting and unique combinations. The freshest seafood is hand selected daily around which a daily changing menu is created, which now includes other meat dishes and a very exiting 250 bin wine list.

  • "I was recommended Michael Nadra by a work colleague as a great place to take my mum for Mother's Day and was not disappointed! The restaurant appearance is pristine and the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful, it is not a large restaurant so has a lovely family or special occasion atmosphere. The 4 course set Mother's Day menu for us was perfect but I could see it as restricting for others, I would have liked to have had two choices of each course rather than just a choice of duck or sea bass for the main course only, saying that the Sea Bass was divine! I will definitely return to sample more of their menu on offer and would recommend the restaurant to anyone who enjoys great value, well presented and exquisitely tasting food."

  • "Not withstanding that the food was exceptional and the quality of presentation is very high, the waiter we had was very wooden and seemed not to be interested in service. Shame because this would have made the entire experience special. He rushed around , didn't make the menu sound exciting ( and it was). Had to be prompted when he hadn't taken our wine order. The wine was pricey so I asked for the Michael Nadra house white ( £18) but it was sold out! He offered an alternative but was a different variety and £36 ! So in summary, great food, sloppy service, wine detail that needs sharpening up!"

  • "The Special Offer Tasting Menu is very good value, and with the matched wines it makes an excellent gourmet experience. To get this offer you have to eat early, when the restaurant is quite empty, but it soon fills up and the ambience becomes very congenial. Service is also extremely good."

  • "Although a local restaurant the food is certainly not. It is busy but the staff are always attentive ensuring that their delicious homemade bread was always on our plates.. We started with the salmon ceviche which was a little over-oily for my taste but the flavour was superb. My partner had the tempura soft-shelled crab with a sweet chilli sauce; we shared this - absolutely delicious. We both chose fish: the hake was melt-in-the-mouth and so flavourful, served with a creamy sauce. The brill too was perfectly cooked. We had the only Sancerre on the wine list which complemented the food perfectly. Sadly we were too full for pudding! An excellent visit yet again - we have never been disappointed at Michael Nadra's."

We were celebrating my birthday and the restaurant was a perfect choice : small and friendly, but attentive and professional service, with great food. We were seated at a lovely table in the window, and the atmosphere was pleasantly relaxed. We arrived at 7.30 as had our 12 year old daughter in tow, but were pleased to see that some of the tables were already taken, which is a good sign for a Thursday night. I can understand why its popular - the menu was great and the food lived up to expectations. Will definitely be back."

  • "This is a food lovers destination where great care is taken over ingredients, the balance of flavours and presentation. We travel serious distances for a Michelin 3 star or a great new young Chef yet to make his mark in the guides. This is clearly Michelin 1-2 star food in anyones book. Had lunch for two in mid March 2014 and had a stunning gastronomical experience: after a succulent Amuse Bouche of Truffled Mash with a piece of Shoulder of Lamb, both of us started with Ballotine of Guinea Fowl which was right up there with the best. Mains were a Lassagne of Mushroom which my wife judged was perfection. My main dish was Hake which looked and tasted out of this world. This is a strong Kitchen and while you will wait a little its worth it."

  • "Just off the main street, the restaurant was tucked away, we thought it looked empty but when we opened the door it was full. It is a cozy space, pretty private. The food was delicious, we had the signature soft shell crab which was one of the most delicate I have eaten in London. I had the sea bass which was light and had a delicious sauce, oriental style, my husband had Hake and said it was great, a real compliment from someone who eats fish possibly once a year. Service was perfect, we had water and wine within 10 minutes of walking in. A great experience with delicious food."

  • "We were looking forward going out to the restaurant based on the reviews read, we won't go back. Very busy which shows it is popular but then very noisy restaurant where you feel you sit on top of each other. it took us 1h15 to get our main course..fish for both which was overcooked, after such a wait, we were not happy. .so when suggested to have another one, we were not up for waiting another hour with a headache. Service : lots of people running around and not making a point in informing customers of the state of their order. We finished the evening for dessert at the Chiswick brasserie:better service and ambiance. Some reviewers have mentioned it deserves a Michelin star, well not in my book.Maybe lunch would be better and better value."

(Having said that, it was completely full when we went last night and the very small kitchen seemed to manage very well, with no long wait for our food). The food is delicious, inventive without being outlandish and far better than other more celebrated restaurants in Chiswick. Service is charming and efficient. The only letdown is the slightly gloomy decor."

  • "Will stick to the facts: Bread basket: elegant selection, bad execution (more like Polish bread with olives and rosemary). Appetisers of crab with a sweet-ish sauce, very presentable and tasty.Duck and fish course: beautifully executed, and presented very quickly to us. Desserts: rather disappointing; tarte tatin practically uncooked, chocolate dessert disproportionately small to the other desserts, sticky date pudding far too light (body and flavour-wise) for what we anticipated. Service: Maitre d' offered good wines by the glass (that were not in the list), we then had a little "incident" (overfamiliarity with customers is not appropriate with all customers...) but he apologised. Verdict:Plenty of similar/ better restaurants in Chiswick."

This time it was my wife's birthday and even though the 3 of us ate early at 7.15 (which is sometimes a problem in restaurants because the kitchen is not at full swing) the food was exceptional. The fish dishes including Hake which you don't often see on menus was outstanding. I would heartily recommend it."

I also (unusually) went for the veggie lasagne which is unlike me, and although delicious, did miss the meaty hit I am used to. But this place is great!!"

Whilst it wasn't on the evening that we went, I imagine the dining room can become a little cramped, and so I would ask for a window table if available. Overall, a delicious meal and a great quality for the price point."

  • "It is a tiny restaurant and we felt a alittle squashed in, but the food was great, the menu was quite varied and the presntation as well as the taste were very good. The service was excellent. The scallops were fantastic! I went out for dinner with my sister and parents and everyone was very happy with their meal, we did a set menu offer, whch was very reasonably priced c. £26 for 3 courses. I would definitely recommend it to others. Great place to have a relaxed dinner."

  • "I needed to move the table back an hour as it was a romantic meal to celebrate our anniversary and my wife is always late, and this was no problem at all, we had a warm welcome and our waiter was attentive and friendly, I thought the 2 or 3 course a la carte menu was excellent value for money. the soft shell crab starter was great and my steak sublime. It ranks among the best value high quality food i have had. Ive paid more per head in a Cafe Rouge so will definitely be back"

My sole very minor grumble is it would be nice to see the menu change somewhat rather than the "variation on a theme" alterations which don't do all that much to provide variety. Still live both establishments though, time to try the burger menu methinks."
