A great addition to Lee
Thank goodness finally a place where we can have a decent Sunday lunch in the area! The (New) Lord Northbrook is a million times better than the last. With a complete overhaul the pub has a great gastropub feel with fabulous food and great customer service. This was our first visit since the overhaul and we weren't disappointed. The place was buzzy and had a good vibe about it. And the food delivered above expectation. Family friendly too. The only snag was with the warm weather the place was really stuffy and this made it a bit uncomfortable. Due to the beautiful old building, i take it the windows don't open so it could be better ventilated but overall i can't wait to go back again!
This place is a delight. Wholesome British flavoured menu, good value, inexpensive wine list, very pleasant buzzy atmosphere and friendly attentive service, nice loos. What's not to like?
This pub has gone through an amazing transformation. The ambiance, staff attentiveness and food is fab.
Well worth checking out. Excellent food, well presented and good choice of wine.
When we went the pub was very busy but we still got our food promptly and it was delicious.
Sets The Standard Locally
The Lord Northbrook sets the standard for taste and good value for Sunday Lunches in South East London. Excellent beef sirloin served properly (very warm, hot gravy, crisp roasties, great red cabbage, pureed squash and a relatively tame Yorkshire pud as opposed to some of the gargantuan ones being served by some places). Efficient and friendly service. Suspect I'll be spending a lot more Sunday afternoons there.
The perfect place
So glad that this place is my local! Great atmosphere and lovely food, love it!
Well worth a visit
The Lord Northbrook serves a great Sunday lunch with everything cooked as it should be and served piping hot (it is winter!).
Reasonable prices @ £14.50 for very good roast beef with all the trimmings. Only small gripe was being asked to sit next to noisy children when I asked to be away from them.
Highly recommended but be sensitive to single customers needs!!
I went here for Sunday lunch and this is one of the best roasts I've had in a long time. The meat was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were to die for. My only criticism was that the Yorkshire Pud was a bit soggy. When I visited this did seem like more of a family place, not a criticism, just an observation.
Late Sunday lunch
The staff at the Northbrook are young and obviously very well trained. Everyone was polite and helpful , with the bar staff offering a taster of the real ale before ordering. The food was very good, service efficient, atmosphere relaxed, menu pretty varied. Would definately go back - this is a local gem.
Food as usual absolutely spot
Food as usual absolutely spot on and a varied menu that should suit all palates. Great to see game meat as an option. Staff as always friendly and polite.
Another great meal
My third visit in the last few months was the best yet. Three of us had three different mains and all were excellent, and beautifully presented in the very pleasant, light new dining room to the rear of the pub. The place was busy, service was great, and we felt very relaxed and impressed by a bill of just £90 or so for three which included a good bottle of wine and several other drinks, coffees, a shared bread starter, puds and so on (not in that order!).
Have eaten here many times
Have eaten here many times and every time has been excellent. The food, particularly the steak, is beautifully cooked, well presented and great value. Staff are friendly and keen to help out too.
Best in the area
Went for dinner at the Lord Northbrook. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The quality of food is excellent and the setting is really great. I had the burger which is really great value and the desserts are fantastic, plus you can order draft beers from the bar and their range is great. Minor criticisms are that both the menu and the wine list could probably be a bit longer.
I find the northbrook a inviting place to enjoy a nice glass of wine with good food. Staff friendly and helpful. My children amd partner really enjoy there homemade sausage roll with piccalilli. Beef dinner great an any room left there deserts are great
Excellent service. Delicious food. Friendly. Comfortable. Definitely coming back.
Well not been in restaurant other than Sunday lunch but was first class.
Great food but service a bit slow
Went here for Saturday lunch around 2.30. The service was polite and the food was really excellent and very good value but we waited over 35 minutes for our food to arrive. We weren't in a hurry but this was too long. We would definitely go back but the speed of service needs some attention.
Good food only reasonable service as they were busy so maybe more staff at peak times might be an idea? Friendly waitress took on board hints well, such as add a fork to spoon for puds.
Price for six was excellent, specialist beers a bit pricy but they are special!
Overall a good time had by all and we'll be back soon!
Had a good evening
Met friends for dinner - six in total - table was a little bit to near the toilet.
Service a bit on the slow side ( it was very busy) and we did take a bit too long deciding
food enjoyable, great atmosphere and there was even entertainment in bar area for after your dinner!
GREAT NIGHT OUT
booked a table for 4 on a busy Saturday night and we all loved it the food was great i had the burger which was fab and the dark chocolate tart was one of the best puds i've ever eaten!!!
so glad this is my local
Inside it is a welcoming friendly
Inside it is a welcoming friendly and modern pub. It was very busy, but we were accommodated without a fuss when we wanted to move table (so we had more room for the buggy and high chair). Food was very nice, with some interesting options and ingredients.
We visit this pub on a regular basis but
always with the kids and during the day.
This time we visited with another couple and we all
Had a great evening.
Only downside was the soup was 'very watery' for a ham
and pea soup and the mackerel pate although delicious would have
been nicer with bit more texture.
