Riverside dining at its best
This was my first visit to Le Pont de la Tour its been on my list of restaurants to visit for some time so I was excited about going. I was not disappointed the service is excellent and you feel welcomed by the staff from the moment you step through the front door. I had the evening standard three course menu which came with a glass of champagne. It was great value for money, although you may need to add sides from the menu to balance out your dish. I had the mushroom consume starter and lamb main and both were delightful and well presented. We had a table outside and this made our dinner even more enjoyable as we were able to take in the views and also watch the Blackout festival which took place on the same evening.
I booked this restaurant for my partners birthday meal as I wanted to try some where different , the location is wonderful and we had the chance to sit outside , from the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty and made to feel really special that all added to the experience .
The food and wine were wonderful and sitting outside with tower bridge in the background made for and magical evening as it got darker , finishing with a beautifully made cocktail this made it an night to remember .
It was solid, good food, but
It was solid, good food, but wasn't very much value. Nothing stood out as exceptional.
Good as usual
The service seems to be a bit slower these days. I noticed a warm debate between two maitres.
Dinner Experience - Fri night
Had dinner in restaurant and took the Blackout menu. Restaurant accommodated request for window seating and bday treat (at no extra cost). Excellent menu choices accommodating pescatarian and vege options, food was decent for the price. Almond dessert was spectacular. Drinks were a bit pricey for cocktails/apertitifs/digestives. Sommelier was friendly, helpful and recommended wine was superb. Staff were very professional, pleasant and attentive. The ambience is fantastic in the restaurant (esp by candlelight). The general bar area is busier with live piano music - not a very big bar area but there are tables if you prefer a livelier more casual dinner experience. Staff are there to help organise taxis and will go out of way to help.
We enjoyed the ambience of candlelight during the Blackout festival. Special menu was average, wine pricey.
Romance on the river!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Le Pont de la Tour. It had a lovely atmosphere, dimly lit with candles and other diners around us quietly chatting and laughing.
The food was delicious. Such flavours and textures! There's also an extensive, although pricey wine list.
The staff were courteous and attentive but not overly so. The patience and knowledge of the waiter as he guided me through the various descriptions of cheeses on the board was second to none.
It was a perfect venue for such a special occasion, romantic and unhurried and worth the expense for the quality of food and impeccable service.
Good but not outstanding
Well-prepared food with good service and great setting, probably a bit expensive for what it is.
food is very good. staff is very helpfull. perfect for special occasions
Birthday meal at Pont -
Good service, attentive and flexible with menu choices. The seafood platter was outstanding. There was a very good welcome at the door and the the cocktail barmen were excellent giving time to chat about what was on offer. All in all a thoroughly good experience.
BIG Night Out
My partner and I were in London for 4 days visiting from California, USA. We asked a friend who travels frequently to London for a recommendation for a special place to go to eat. His immediate response was Le Pont de la Tour.
We enjoyed the setting, food and service and will certainly tell our friends.
We had a wonderful
Evening at le Pont de la tour, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing
Roman Birthday Dinner
Book this restaurant as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend who is very much a foodie. We both had a lovely evening with good food, great service and a romantic view over the River Thames. Pretty much perfect.
Great service and top quality food
My GF and I visited on a Thursday night and left with nothing but positive things to say.
We mixed the TT menu with some fresh seafood and enjoyed every course we had. Only criticism would possibly be a lack of variety on the TT mains, but the lamb was superb.
Service was very polished but also personable- definitely a more refined offering but not overly stuffy and price wise was definitely value for money
Would definitely recommend.
Ambiente unico, servizio di grande classe, menu stupendi! Da rifare e rifare!
Another lovely meal!
Really enjoyed another lovely meal - great wine, great food and very good service. Could do without the piano player in the background though. Set meal is a very good deal, and for a change they had a chocolate dessert on offer - we couldn't resist and it didn't disappoint! Live in the building so we are fairly regular customers - no need to go further afield for a very fine dining experience!
The whole experience was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. My only criticism of the meal was that the Tuna starter was too salty.
The wines were excellent, but generally over-priced.
The service was very good.
A great experience!
The service, the food, the ambience...it all adds up to create a very pleasant memory. I'd requested a good table as it was a celebration, not really expecting a response, but was surprised by the meticulous care with which it was followed up. We've been there a couple of times before and each time it's been a pleasure.
Went here to celebrate my son going off to uni. Very much a special occasion restaurant, you are made to feel special from beginning to end - just as you should be. The food, wine and service were superb. Allowed me to spend some pure quality time with him. Already booked to celebrate his coming home in December.
6 of us went for a business meal. Everyone was really impressed with the quality. Service was efficient, but not rushed.
staff are friendly and attentative. Food was very nice and professionally cooked and presented
Good evening, beautiful views
I had a lovely dinner with friends. The food was good. The restaurant was busy but the waiting staff were attentative. Huge wine selection but very expensive. £40 for the same bottle of Oyster Bay I'd paid £9 in my local co-op the night before, no thanks!
I would recommend for the view and decent food but they need to sort out the wine list it is overpriced!
We (party of 7) thoroughly
We (party of 7) thoroughly enjoyed our evening, the food and service were excellent and the staff both friendly and helpful. The fact that you could carry on a normal conversation without being drowned out by back ground music or other guest was a rare treat.
I booked the restaurant for me and my girlfriend for her birthday. The little touches (a complimentary mousse, a piano tinkle of happy birthday and a seat overlooking Tower Bridge) were lovely and the overall experience was excellent. I cannot emphasise enough how friendly the staff were and how good the food was in general. Lovely.
Sunday Lunch at Pont
Excellent value Sunday lunch for 5 people - service first class as was the food etc.
The bar is also excellent although the very entertaining piano music was a little on the overpowering side as far as volume was concerned.
We think that there has been a significant improvement overall since we last visited some months ago.
Please keep it up Pont!
Starters (partridge and boudin noir) and mains (stone bass and john dory) were top notch. Sorbets were a bit hard - possibly served too cold? Piano playing in the background was good, but was a bit too quiet most of the time because we were at the other end of the restaurant.
A perfect moment
The restaurant, the service and the food were amazing. I definitely would return here.
Good value for Restaurant Week
Le Pont de la Tour provided a tasty and good value menu for London Restaurant week. Service as always was impeccable.
Excellent Sunday roast outside
Excellent Sunday roast outside under the heaters as the rain poured down and small streams flowed under our feet. Attentive and charming service, but made the mistake of ordering wine by the glass and had some tired old fare.
October in the sunshine.
A birthday lunch needed somewhere a bit special, & having not been to Le Pont since my city days in the late 80's, I decided to take advantage of the special offers. We ate from the £35 menu which included 1/2 bottle of wine, but champagne aperitifs added to the bill of course. Sunny enough to sit outside & make the most of the fab view. Service was attentive & friendly; menu options were really good (I don't eat red meat but still had choices) & very well presented. My white (house) wine was disappointing - just not to my taste. Place not very busy, which surprised me, so no pressure to leave. Food really enjoyable for both of us. Love to go again soon, if someone else treats me!
Very nice place, great meal and excellent service. The menu had good choice, also extensive list of wines.
My only observation was that it was very warm, particularly near the entrance.
I would definitely eat there again and recommend it to others.
First class food, great friendly service. Probably the best meal we have had all year.
We do not eat in London on a regular basis and it has been a long time since we visited this restaurant. But it did not disappoint in any way and was if anything better than we remembered.A memorable evening for all the right reasons.
First time at Le Pont de la Tour and loved it. Choose from the set menu which was really good value. Sommelier helped us choose some delicious and reasonably priced wine.
Service was friendly and attentive yet unobtrusive.
We enjoyed it immensely and will definitely be back.
Another outstanding evening (on our wedding anniversary). Our reservation was at 7pm and we were greeted like old friends by the Maitre Di, Mr Kim, who had attended Buckingham Palace that day. The Somelier and our table waiter were very polite and attentive and should be congratulated on delivering outstanding service. I am sure we will have many a future evening at the Pont de la Tour restaurant.
Lovely family meal at LPDLT
This was my second time at Le Pont de la Tour, the first time was lunch outside. This time was a large family dinner, the restaurant inside is beautiful with spectacular views of Tower Bridge (but this depends where you sit). The service was perfect, very attentive and catered to our various requests. The set menu was good value, the steak was lovely and the presentation of the food was great. Sides, service and drinks do push the bill up but in this place it is worth it for a treat. I would definitely return and recommend. A great time had by all, thank you.
Le Pont de La Tour visit 11 Novembe
Absolutely brilliant - way ahead of Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons which I visited last month. Looking forward to my next visit.
Relaxing and Enjoyable Dining
Booked as a birthday celebration and was very good.
Food was excellent as was the service. Wine list a joy in itself.
Great food - indifferent service
Visited for a late Sunday lunch after a charity walk. Dining room was only about half full, but waited a good five minutes for a menu. This set the general tone for service throughout. We were in no hurry, but it felt like we were virtually forgotten about. Fortunately, the food and the ambiance was lovely and good value given we ordered 3 courses from the Menu du Jour. The only let down was a so-so Almond Chiboust for pudding, which was overpowered by a badly matched Mandarin Sorbet. the Apple Tatin however, was to die for.
Booked for a farewell dinner
Booked for a farewell dinner for a member of our senior management. The location is fabulous, with a stunning view of Tower Bridge. Excellent service from when we were greeted on arrival and throughout the entire meal. The waiters are very knowledgable and the service was impeccable. I had the scallops for starters and the John Dory for main, crepe suzette for dessert. Everything was delicious. This is a great place for special occasions. It is pricey but worth the experience
We were lucky enough to be given a window seat. It was a real treat with a view of the thames and Tower Bridge. The service was very good and the food reasonably priced and good quality. Every table was taken and well deserved, the restaurant is a fantastic place in London. I would recommend without hesitation.
A special get together for friends
We were very impressed by the friendliness and excellent service we received. We rang to say we were delayed and would be five minutes late for our 3.30 booking. We had not realised we were so near to closing time but we were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. Continually encouraged to enjoy our meal and not rush. It was a special occasion and we felt like we were being given special attention. The food was delicious and the staff exceptional.
Great Sunday Lunch
Three of us dined on Sunday with T/T offer 2/3 courses for £20/£25. Excellent value, good choices for each course. Lovely beautiful venue with very good food and service. Couldn't fault it. Would definitely recommend and am looking forward to returning.
Lovely venue, ideal position
Lovely venue, ideal position overlooking the Thames and of course Tower Bridge.
Excellent food and charming staff, even presented me with a cake and candle for my birthday.
Just a very nice restaurant
Just a very nice restaurant with excellent food and a marvellous wine list. A bit pricey but worthy
This was an anniversary celebration made even more special by a fabulous location overlooking Tower Bridge and a first-rate meal.
I dine at Le Pont de la Tour before, but this time I went back to take advantage of the 2/3 courses menu. It was Sunday night and we wanted something not to heavy and smaller but still nice.
The menu offers a great selection, the food was excellent and the service was great. It was also great value considering the quality. We were in 4 and tried different dishes and they were all very good.
Will recommend it 100%
Lovely meal for 8. The service was outstanding and the food delicious!
Service was excellent with great attention to detail and made to feel very welcome
Myself and two girlfriends went to Le Pont de la Tour on Friday night, wanting to treating ourselves before we all went our separate ways for Christmas. It did not disappoint, we chose the special menu of the day which was such good value. The choices were good, all had something different, and all was beautifully cooked.
The wine selection was extensive, and lots of choice for wines by the glass. I would highly recommend the restaurant.
