Once again, an excellent lunch at the Vineyard. Service is always extremely attentive and food delicious.
Interesting menu. Better than
Interesting menu. Better than many pubs. We will return.
Excellent gastro pub
Fab food and service - much like it's sister pub (The Great House)
Staff very welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. Lovely restaurant in a great location - just right for a special birthday lunch.
We had a very nice Sunday Lunch with my Husband and daughter, very nice pub in the middle of the Kent countryside with to me that old country pub feel, which is missing a lot these days, the food was very nice and service was outstanding,
It was my first visit- on recommendation and because I am a fan of the greathouse at hawkhurst.
It has been very well done up. The ambience is nice- though i am not keen on the skins/furs on the chairs!! Lovely large oputside and garden area and lots of room inside too. very attentive service and excellent food. scallops were yummy and good- not chewy as can be the case when badly cooked. My steak was excellent and the chips were good too!
It was a lunchtime after the bankholiday so not many people there- more may help the atmosphere. I understand the bankHoliday had been very busy with over 300 people! I would have no hesitation in recommending it for lunch or dinner and plan to go there with friends for dinner again soon!.
A proper Sunday roast
This is the first time that I had been to The Vineyard and I was very impressed. We went for Sunday lunch and the restaurant was full. The service was excellent though and the bar staff particularly efficient. My 2 year old daughter with us and the staff made sure that she was catered for as well if not better than the adults.
We were spoilt for choice with the menu but had decided that a Sunday roast was the order of the day. I went for the Sunday indulgence - a great mix of all the meats on offer, sirloin of beef, kentish leg of lamb and loin of pork. It came with fabulous homemade yorkshire puddings and lashings of gravy. It was as good as having a roast at home, without all the washing up at the end! I'd highly recommend a visit.
Excellent food and friendly service
My first visit with friends. We normally visit the sister pub the Great House but decided to give the Vineyard a try and we were not disappointed - excellent food and service and some good beers on tap.
Like that I can drink and order my food at the bar and just get told when the first course is ready :)
Meals at The Vineyard are
Meals at The Vineyard are always excellent with plenty of locally sourced produce. Staff are very professional and friendly. We have eaten at all the Elite pubs and all are of the same high standard.
fantastic food, friendly attentive staff and service, lovely venue
We had been to the vineyard before but this was the first time since the new dinning area was opened, It has been tastefully decorated and and comfortably furnished and really complements the existing building.
On arrival the staff were very welcoming and curtious and during the meal attentive but not intrusive.
The Vineyard is in a great location and in easy reach of the area's most popular places to vist.
All in all 10 out of 10
Another visit to the Vineyard without disappointment.
The food was excellent... We didn't feel rushed along even though we were the last people to leave the restaurant due to a late comer to our party! The staff were attentive and friendly without being over bearing. We have returned to the Vineyard on several occasions now and have always felt welcome and left feeling contentedly full of good food and wine.
Very enjoyable meal. Great
Very enjoyable meal. Great for a family Sunday lunch. Staff very friendly and attentive, very good with the children. Plenty of parking. We will definitely be going again.
A Real Find! What a treat
With friends coming to stay for a weekend and a visit to Scotney Castle anticipated, I combed the Lamberhurst Village website for local pubs/ restaurants to book lunch. The Vineyard fitted the bill. This was our first visit. We were very impressed and will definitely eat there again. Excellent menu, food beautifully prepared, extremely tasty ( the BEST garlic bread I have tasted in years!) and friendly professional staff. The building has been meticulously refurbished and the patio and garden will be wonderful to use if the British Summer ever arrives!
We went as a party of 4 to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent and very filling. The staff were very good and even put a candle in my wife's pudding and sung happy birthday to her.
The only down side was the area we ate in was a bit to much noise and was difficult to hold a conversation
A brilliant venue for our group of 9, celebrating 4 birthdays. Service was very friendly and efficient; the staff decorated the birthday girls' desserts with candles and sang "happy birthday" as a surprise for us all, which made the evening even more fun. Food was delicious with a really good range of choices on the menu plus specials. Everyone though it was one of the best restaurants we've been to. Highly recommended!
This was our second visit in 2 weeks both for lunch on a Saturday on the first visit it was friends and we used the walking maps provided on the website to have a pre lunch walk which built up our appetites for the ample food, the second was a family do .
Menu is not large but varied with dishes from Fish and chips in an excellent beer batter to Guinea Fowl and a vegetarian Rissotto, decent wine list plus good ale selection.
The service by mostly east european staff was friendly without being intrusive , we sat in the new restaurant area with the big windows which has a more contemporary feel than the bar (you choose which you prefer)
Prices are good for the level of service and quality of the food provided, we will be going again.
Excellent as ever.
We had a very enjoyable meal again at The Vineyard. The staff are so nice and the food is great.
Always excellent efficient service, clean, food quality is very good. A number of Local walks are available with guidance notes.
Our first visit to The Vineyard,
Our first visit to The Vineyard, for a midweek evening out with friends. Slightly disappointed by the choices on the standard menu - we all chose our main courses from the specials board. The food itself, however, was very good - especially the fish board starters. Service good, and very friendly. We felt that the restaurant was a little too big to get a good ambience - we prefer the cosier feel of The Vineyard's sister restaurants, the Great House and The Gun. Nevertheless, this was a pleasant evening, with good food at a reasonable price.
Brilliant country dining
I have eaten at the vineyard 4 times now since it was taken over by the current owners. This week was the first time since their new extension opened. It is fabulous! Lovely warm evening so the fully glazed doors were open. Made it feel like you were eating outside. Really really lovely. The staff are attentive, the food was great. The menu wasn't the biggest selection but what we all had was very nice. Would definitely go back!
Great outside dining
Great spot in the countryside with a fantastic beer garden and more elegent terrace dining (athough you can order from a great bar menu if you are in the garden too) . One of the best pubs in the area!!
the vineyard lamberhurst
Really really good food, great atmosphere. Children welcome and a good child menu. Lovely outside space.
Lovely Country Setting
Set in beautiful countryside The Vineyard offers excellent value for money with quality food and friendly staff. The Sunday Roast was succulent and tasty.
Good pub grub
We are in dire need of a pub that sells good pub grub, with good service and your pub fulfils this need
Saturday lunch for my 41st
Saturday lunch for my 41st Birthday. Great food, great service and a lovely setting. Would love to stay at the B&B on site next time.
A day in the country
We have been to the vineyard on several occasions and have all ways found it a nice experience. We have never had to complain or fault the experience. The food is always prepared well and looks appetising. Have often recommended it to friends and will continue to do so.
Excellent staff and quite
Excellent staff and quite prompt service. Roast potatoes very hard, some lamb undercooked.
We keep going back because it is always a great experience. Lunch or dinner beautifully cooked and presented.
Super Sunday Lunch
Once again, a lovely Sunday lunch experience! Great food, fabulous setting and wonderful staff.
lovely al fresco dining
booked a table of 3 plus 1 baby! we arrived 30 mins late due to typical twells traffic, but called ahead to let them know, this was no problem whatsoever which was refreshing from the usual 'oh but we are very busy so you could lose your table' nonsense you get at many twells eateries!
upon arrival it was actually quite busy, we had a table reserved in the new bit, although the sun was shining we decided to eat outside, again no problem.
food was very good especially the creme brûlée! goid portion size for the baby, service attentive, all for under £50! what a bargain!
will definitely be returning soon, PLEASE eat here it's fab!
Love food Love The Vineyard
Excellent service, amazing food, comfortable and relaxing environment. Definately good value for money.
Good all round pub grub, good
Good all round pub grub, good service with a smile. Good atmosphere. All round good pub
We have visited the great house before and have always enjoyed our meals. Thought we would try the vineyard and we were not disappointed! Menu does look a little bit limited then the food arrives and it's amazing! Best food for a reasonable price!
Super Sunday Lunch
Booked last minute and couldn't have chosen a better place for Sunday lunch.
Roasts excellent, vegetables all freshly cooked and attentive service. Will be returning soon.
We had an very Good Friday lunch at the Vineyard.
Service was attentive throughout, nice range of wines by he glass and very well kept Harvey's Best.
I had read several reviews that had suggested the limited menu had been a bit disappointing.
We really liked the range of the menu, particularly the nice idea of British tapas as a shared starter, the scallops, and the rack of lamb which was the special main course of the day.
The puddings were a particular highlight - we had the lemon tart and the coffee creams brûlée hitch was exceptional.
A very good meal and we'll definitely return perhaps with a bigger group which the pub can definitely accommodate.
Small errors in service.
I asked twice for another glass of wine, which I never got and gave up in the end. At the end of the meal we had double espressos but they came in large cups and were therefore not very hot. Other than that we enjoyed our evening very much. Just attention to small details would have made all the difference.
Can't fault the service and the food is very good too. Slightly more unusual than the run of the mill pub so definitely worth a visit.
Highly consistent and very good
very good food and outstanding service from all members of staff. Third visit. Will go again and again and would highly recommend
A good 'pub +' menu with many
A good 'pub +' menu with many and varied choices.
Service was good and friendly. The food well presented and of good quality.
Overall a good experience.
The service was out of this world, only bettered by the outstanding food. The atmosphere was warm and inviting.
Visit the Vineyard
Our first visit to the Vineyard & we were very impressed. The food was excellent & the service was equally good. We will definitely be going back again!
One of our favourite pubs
We live in Petts Wood and so this pub requires a little effort to get to. However it's one of our favourites - Sunday lunch is very good with the added bonus of a varied a la carte menu for those after something a little different. Has the ambience of a good traditional pub (with ales to match) but the food of a v.good restaurant. Recommended.
Excelent meal, wonderful atmosphere and very friendly staff! Definitelly will be back!
We dined at the Vineyard last Saturday, we had wonderful service and the menu was very varied. My husband had steak and I had Murgel sole which was lovely and cooked just right.
To start with we had a sharing flat bread which we did not enjoy very much, it was difficult to cut.
We enjoyed the evening very much and thought the meal was excellent value and we will return.
Fab Sunday Lunch
This was our first visit to the Vineyard and we arrived and the resturant was buzzing. We had a drink beforehand in the bar which was really nice and the staff were very attentive. Our meal was cooked to perfection and I cannot think of one critism. We will definitely be returning soon.
Well done as we do struggle to find decent pubs/restaurants serving good food. See you soon!!!
The expierence was let down
The expierence was let down by the lighting. It was so low that we had to read the menu by means of tourches!
Shared a delicious meal with friends. Food was very tasty and menu had some unusual options. Thought wine a bit pricey for a pub. Partook of starter and main. Did not try desserts
Attentive and Friendly Staff.
We thoroughly enjoyed lunch, and we would like to return and try other menu items. Excellent house white wine and a very pleasant, old-fashioned pub-type of ambience. Excellent and very professional staff. Definitely would go back.
A wonderful evening
I took four friends to The Vineyard as a thank you for all they have done for me. I chose it as last year my husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary there and everyone was impressed. None of the four had been there before and all said how wonderful the food was; good quality, freshly cooked, beautifully presented and served by attentive, polite, smiling staff. The atmosphere was great and the whole restaurant was inviting. We were pleased to see how busy it was on a Wednesday evening. A great place to eat.
