Lovely SUnday lunch
The Grill was buzzing as it was Remembrance Sunday and the four of us ordered the Chateaubriand which was superb. Cooked to our liking - and the rare was truly rare - and the sides delicious. My only criticism is that the containers for the sides (which were pricey) were extremely small. One cauliflower cheese was only enough for one. But a small criticism in an otherwise lovely and gracious meal. Very expensive, but worth it now and again.
Normal good quality of food
Normal good quality of food and attentive service.
A classic dining experience
I booked the pre-theatre deal (2 courses for £24). The staff were courteous and friendly and we felt very welcomed. The atmosphere was good for a Monday early evening and the waiters were attentive. The menu was limited as you would expect for a pre-theatre deal however, the chicken liver parfait was delicious as was the sea bream. Beautifully cooked and the right portion size. Wine by the glass was reasonable too. Glad to have picked this deal and a great experience in a historic London ining room.
We had a fantastic evening in the Savoy Grill. The SavoyThe food and service was superb and Mark (our waiter) was a real professional. He ensured that we were served in good time (without rushing us) so that we could get to the theatre. I look forward to dining in Mark's restaurant some day because I am sure he will have one one day!
The restaurant itself was so sophisticated (if the lighting a touch too low). Can't fault anything. Number one on my list.
First time I've been since the refurb - was not disappointed, enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Was for a special birthday lunch, really touched by the 'special' attention from the staff, and the little cake, candle and decorated plate! Thank you.
The place is inside at the
The place is inside at the very famous Savoy Hotel...nice restaurant with an excellent service....food was superb but a bit expansive overall...it was worthed though.
Great service and food
The service was excellent, the food came out quickly and was superb. We had the pre-theatre menu which was very tasty and came in good sized portions. Would recommend having cocktails in the american bar while you're there too.
Absolutely delectable - the
Absolutely delectable - the beef wellington is a must try!
The food and wine were superb, the service was flawless and the wow factor of the venue was great for a surprise special occasion. Highly recommended!
Great service, excellent food!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Quality of food was top class, we ordered oysters, followed by a lobster thermidor for my wife and a porterhouse for myself. Will definitely visit again next time in London, and would highly recommend.
The Savoy Review in London
The food was excellent and very good value for the centre of London. The staff were lovely and the setting also. We also saw some lovely places on route to the restaurant. However the bar at the American Bar was not good and you had to wait in line would not recommend as we left and went to the Strand Hotel for a cocktail which was also great value, however the Savoy is beautiful and could not fault the restaurant would go again definitely. Thank you.
I feel that it is a great
I feel that it is a great pity that people attend such a restaurant wearing jeans and a T shirt.
I think there should be a jacket, shirt and tie policy for men for the reastaurant
The whole evening was exceptional and a fantastic experience, the only down side was my 22oz t bone steak,it looked to be small in size although i do appreciate that these are wights before cooking and very grisly for a t bone.
other than than as i said what a fantastic experience for my daughters 17th birthday surprise.
A good way to start your evening
My wife and I decided to spend Saturday evening in town and settled on The Savoy Grill before heading off to a show. I have eaten here before but my wife hasn't so I thought I'd share the experience. I have to say all good and worth the expense apart from the price of the wine. I have eaten in many similar restaurants so understand that the drinks can be expensive but I have to say this was pricey - I guess the price you have to pay if eating at The Savoy. But don't let this deter you - the staff are well informed and very attentive, the ambience is excellent and the food is good, albeit the choice of starters could be slightly more balanced. A very good evening overall.
My wife and I had a very enjoyable meal at the savoy grill. Although expensive, the food, service and whole ambiance was superb.
Visited on Saturday for a post Theatre meal. The staff were professional, friendly, knowledgable and efficient. Despite being busy, attention to detail was brilliant. They also have a great sense of humour and made it a great experience
Beautiful hotel and fantastic
Beautiful hotel and fantastic service from all staff
Seafood bisque was to die for.....
A good place for star spotting.
Pierce Brosnam was only 2 tables away !
We booked the pre theatre menu. It was a wonderful experience and exceeded our high expectations. Food and ambience were outstanding. Service was good despite a large influx of diners all at the same time as the restaurant opened at 5.30 pm. The menu was varied and very good value for the quality of the food. The wine list is inevitably extensive but does contain some sensibly priced wines. A great start to our evening and one we plan to repeat!
A must go
From the welcome at the door to the food this was an experience I would recommend to anyone, and at £30 for 3 course lunch it is extraordinary value for money! The staff could not have been anymore efficient and friendly, we were celebrating a birthday and when our waiter found this out I was given a card and a little birthday cake, it is the small touches that make the savoy grill an experience not to be forgotten and one which I would say is an absolute must if you are in London!
An amazing night
Outstanding service, nice surroundings, very tasty and good-looking food (except for one slightly burnt sticky toffee pudding) and I would definetly recommend The Savoy Grill to anyone that wants to have a memorable evening. It was the perfect birthday gift for my sisters 21'st.
When is a bargain not a bargain?
When it's the pre/post theatre meal at the Savoy Grill?
That said, the food is great and the service excellent. But the £24ish per head set menu ended up costing twice that each once you added in a drinks some vegetables, coffee and service charge. For example, the pie on the main course came without any veg so you had to order potatoes and veg which cost £5 each.
The starters on the set menu were all vegetarian with no meat or fish options offered.
All very lovely but then it should be for the price.
Four of us went for dinner on Thursday night and it was great fun. It was really buzzy and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
I took my wife for her birthday, having eaten at most of Gordon's restraurants we were expecting something very special. It didn't disappoint; food, service and ambience were all outstanding. They have a great way of making you feel very welcome.
Pre theatre Savoy Grill
Fantastic food and good ambiance - we've been to the Savoy before but not this restaurant but we will definitely go back here for dinner or a pre theatre menu again.
Lobster bisque was lovely as was the lamb wellington and perfectly cooked fillet steak.............really nice house champagne too.
A lively, noisy and busy dining room. Very pleasant staff and good, personal attention though our main waiter was sometimes supplemented by a colleague. A good selection on the menu and food prepared as requested. A large and not over priced wine list, though the bottle we chose (at a modest £38) was perhaps average. I would happily visit again for a special occasion.
We stayed at the savoy when we got married and the 10 of us had our wedding lunch in the savoy grill and it was exceptional. Food was gorgeous, service was second to none and they provided me with a cushion for my back as I'm pregnant. And they made sure any cheese I ate was pasteurised. Brilliant all round, they thought of everything. Might even go back for our anniversary!
My sister's 50th Birthday
We had a brilliant evening to celebrate my sister's 50th Birthday. The food and service was amazing and it certainly created a most memorable time,
We love eating out and sometimes are disappointed as my husband is an excellent cook but I have to say that this is one of the best dining experiences we have had in recent times. Excellent Food, excellent Service and wonderful company!
Classy and elegant.

Very good food - good drinks and wine.
Very service minded staff.
dinner at the savoy
Really enjoyed our evening meal , which my husband had booked for us. my daughter and I dined after the theatre and it was lovely.
The food was delicious and the service excellent.
Booked this for my birthday & it was a great experience. The staff was very friendly & made good recommendations regarding food & wine.
The atmosphere is very sophisticated and would defiantly impress.
We where selebrating a birthday
We where selebrating a birthday in Savoy Grill and everything was perfect. Good food and service. There was too dark inside, i like to see what i am eating. But they change our table more lighter place and then it was all very good.
40th Birthday Celebration
I had taken some time deciding where to go for lunch during a girlie trip to London. We were not dissappointed at all the set 3 course menu was a good deal. each course was a taste sensation! The service was impeccable. A most enjoyable experience.
If you're looking for good food and service this is the place to be in London.
Perfect Sunday Lunch
Splendid food, wines and service, as near to perfect as you can get for the 'British' classics!
Still a little pricey at £32 for three courses and a bellini at lunch, but the food was excellent and the service faultless. Note that they will add on a service charge and a charity donation to the bill automatically.
Dinner at the Savoy grill was excellent, the food was taste and the service fitst class
A brilliant dining experience
The experience as a whole was amazing - from arrival at the restaurant until the very last bite. Our waiting staff couldn't have been more helpful and polite. The food was, as to be expected at the Savoy Grill, outstanding. Little extra touches made the meal even more delightful - with waiting staff presenting us with two complementary mignardises with chocolate-written 'Happy Anniversary' upon finding out that it was a special occasion. I cannot recommend The Savoy Grill enough.
steak was excellent! Service was good and the decor of the restaurant wonderful! Especially liked the birthday service they offered my dad
Everything was perfect in my business group. Attendees from Italy, Germany, France, Spain, other parts of UK were impresed for the dinner, also for the place.
Unforgettable night with friend
I was dining at Savoy Grill 28.11.2013 with my best friend. I had very high expectations, and Savoy Grill exceeded all of them clearly. I didn't even know that so good food exists.
Service was excellent - me and my friend were student tourists from Finland, so we didn't order highest price champagnes or wines, while table next to us ordered everything to priced. And yet there was absolutely no difference in service quality between our table and table next to us.
Good, but not perfect.
I ordered Omelette Arnold Bennett for starters, Fillet steak with mashed potatoes and béarnaise for main and Chocolate marquis with dark chocolate ganache and peppermint ice cream for dessert.
The Omelette was really tasty, perfectly done, however, there was a big fish bone in mine, and I really dislike fish bones in my meal even if this dish contains fish.
The Fillet steak was perfectly red in the middle and lightly cooked on the outside as I ordered it and was really tender as one would expect from a fillet.
The potatoes where fine, but the béarnaise was way too spicy.
The Chocolate marquis with dark chocolate ganache was superb, however the ice cream was crystallized from being thawed and frozen again.
Overall 4/5 due to staff.
I took my boyfriend on Friday evening for his birthday, the experience, food, service and atmosphere was truly brilliant. We had initially booked for the pre theatre dinner but the menu was very limited so we opted for a la carte. Glad wad did, oysters we sublime, Mains delicious and the desserts were fantastic, they even brought a little birthday cake for my man. Truly amazing experience would recommend without hesitation.
Finally, Gordon Ramsey has lived up to expectations. The savoy grill was lovely - pretty place, delicious food and flawless service. The scallop dish was very good.
sommelier left bad taste
Had lunch here this weekend of the al a carte menu and the food was superb, service highly efficient and polite could bot fault. However, with our
Main courses we asked for a glass of wine from the lunch menu, nothing special purely just a house wine as that would be very much nice enough in this establishment. The sommelier spoke to us about the wine and gave us an option of wine as if they were from the lunch menu, we chose one and had lunch. At the end of the meal we got the wine an. It was 22 pounds a glass! Firstly this is not what we had ordered secondly it certainly wasn't worth it, and most importantly this is bad ethics of a sommelier to give wines at this price when all we had asked for was two House whites of the lunch menu.
The Savoy Grill
I had a wonderful lunch at the Savoy Grill. I had the Heirloom beetroot tart with goat’s curd and caper berries which was light but delicious. I followed that with the Pan-fried sea bream with puy lentil stew, smoked chorizo and roasted fennel with a couple of sides of spinach and buttered new potatoes. All perfectly cooked (I always think the true test of a restaurant is to order fish) and absolutely delicious. I had to indulge in dessert as I couldn't resist the Vanilla crème brûlée with shortbread biscuits. I am rather fond of crème brûlée and we cook it at home but this version did not disappoint. Infused with vanilla, it had the perfect cream consistency contrasting with the crunchy sugar topping. I would highly recommend.
We were at the restaurant to celebrate a very special day and the restaurant staff made it even more special for us. Unfortunately we had to wait for a table at the hotel bar for a long time but the lunch at the Grill made it up for us. The service was really good and the food was very good. I will definitely recommend this restaurant.
impeccable service and attention
impeccable service and attention to detail , delicious food ...
A Class Act
Beautiful ambience. Waiters very nice. My daughters and I loved it. Will certaining go again. One of the classiest hotels in town. Recommend without hesitation.
