Lovely meal again at Quo Vadis
Greeted like long-lost friends tho we've only been twice before. Lovely seasonal food, exceptional service, interesting and thoughtful wine list.
Would go back any time, it's really fantastic

From the front door hosts
From the front door hosts to the food, I loved everything about this quirky restaurant. Lovely setting, gracefully received, attentive service, very interesting if small menu, and just enough buzz on a Friday night to feel like we were in a hotspot but could still hear our conversation. The menu and choices were high-end but the feel of the room and service is more convivial. A great combination in my book. If I had to make a few suggestions, I'd vote for a larger menu and the service, altho attentive, could have been a little smoother befitting the higher-end prices. But all in all, I will go back and recommend it to all.
Excellent restaurant, great food and service in a convenient spot in Soho.
Quo Vidas never disappoints!
I love this restaurant. Great staff, great food (although sometimes a little eclectic) and the ambiance is terrific. Lunch can be expensive but well worth it.
Good service & value
After AA Gill, the Times food reviewer, recommended this restaurant I went with my soon. He was impressed with everything & will return. Result!
Excellent food and very friendly staff - only issue was that our wine was very slow to be topped up and we sometimes had to ask...but that could have been my fault for drinking too quickly. Friendly and engaging barstaff and the menu was imaginative without being too scary.
Quo Vadis is a charming, long-estab
Quo Vadis is a charming, long-established restaurant in Soho which is a delightful place for a business or social meal.
We had two courses; the three mains were brill, mackerel and ox liver with onions. The deserts were very good.
The French Sauv.Blanc was excellent.
The service was attentive and professional.
The ambience on a sunny day in Soho was delightful.
Lovely place, good vibe, buzzing
Lovely place, good vibe, buzzing but not too loud, attentive service. Food is very interesting and sophisticated- no light stuff though, be prepared to test your digestive system. Service is warm and efficient, happy to answer all your questions.
The bar is a gem.
Great food, great service
Thoroughly enjoyed a 3 course meal at Quo Vadis. The hake served in a broth of mussels, tomatoes and tarragon (main course) was delicious, and the st emilion au choclocat (dessert) was fantastic. Service was quick and efficient, and the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. Despite needing to vacate our table after the 2 hour maximum dining period, the staff seated us at our own table in the bar, where we could finish our drinks. Highly recommend.
Great to find a restaurant dishing out quality food at outstanding value in a central location. The fixed price menu is perfect for a lunch / pre-theatre meal - good to know about if you're out shopping / doing galleries and museums and want a high quality foodie pause before resuming shopping / culture in the afternoon! Staff extremely professional, but also friendly. Lovely decor - hydrangeas were frothing out of vases on my visit - and good space between tables; i.e. you get atmosphere without feeling you are having to tune out of neighbours' conversations. All in all; fabulous!
Quo Vadis - a Soho institution!
I tend to go to Quo Vadis for business lunches (ie when someone else is paying!) as it's not the kind of place you can have lunch at every day!
It's quite a smart experience and the food is invariably good although I have found the service to be disappointingly spotty on a number of occasions. For example, waiting a long time to have our order taken or being offered anything to drink and seeing other tables being cleaned down between courses and our table not being cleaned. Very inconsistent!
I would recommend this place higher if the service matched the high quality of the food and the high price you're paying for it!
Quo Vadis 3rd and counting
My 3rd time at Quo Vadis - excellent food very well cooked and presented with an excellent buzzing atmosphere. I will be back!
Excellent as usual! That's why I keep coming back!
Excellent value set menu
My friend and I came early evening and took advantage of the set menu, which had lovely options and was excellent value for money. The service was friendly, attentive and not at all stuffy - just how I like it. Nicely decorated restaurant and the bar area was being used by quite a few people. Highly recommended.
Nice lunch menu
Very good value for money 2 courses lunch menu, service is impeccable, bloody Mary looked amazing.
I love Quo Vadis
This is one of my favourite restaurants. I go whenever I have a good excusetoo.
Love the foiod, love the staff and love the restaurant itself. Sitting outside watching the world that is Soho go by is one of life's great pleasures.
The pre-theatre experience at this revamped restaurant was very warm and cosy. The set meal was very good value and I heartily recommend it as excellent value for money.
Whither goest thou? To Quo Vadis.
We enjoyed an excellent evening meal at Quo Vadis. We had the 'Theatre Set' menu, which is very good value, with a carafe of rosé. The food was expertly cooked and presented - as starters, my wife had Fig & Goats Curd and I had Pumpkin and Chilli soup, for the mains we both had the Lamb Onglet, which was especially tasty and substantial, and for dessert my wife had a Baba and I had a Walnut Mess. We were greeted in a friendly way and shown immediately to our table, and the service was pleasant, prompt and efficient. Although the restaurant was crowded, it did not feel cramped, and although lots of people were talking, it was not too noisy. An ideal place for a good value meal in a lively ambience.
The last time I visited Quo Vardis was in1995 whilst on business. I was in London to take in a show and a visit to the Shard and so I booked a pre show meal and was very well received. The meal for the four of us was superb.
The reality is even better
Qu Vadis has been around for ages but they never fail to excite with interesting new menu ideas that are thoroughly enjoyable and tsaty
The staff at this restaurant
The staff at this restaurant were very friendly and attentive. The menu was good, food served was timely, hot, well presented and tasty. Loved having real table cloths and napkins!
The starter and pudding were
The starter and pudding were excellent, but the mutton patties were over-salted.
Quo Vadis does deliver
We went to lunch with our FD as a bit of a thank you to him for his hard work and it felt like a really nice thing to do. Wine was excellent and the service is always the right side of friendly. Recommend.
Just Perfect a very unigue experience. Can't wait to go back
Where am I going? Back!
Second time at Quo Vadis. What a lovely spot. Cozy, just the right level of buzz, really good, solid food. Starter salsify wrapped in filo dough and baked was novel and delicious; both mains fish dishes were perfectly cooked, perfectly flavored; desserts didnt deliver the menu description but were quite nice. Service was slow and awkward but on a Saturday night when you're fine to linger, it was just fine.
We went for Saturday lunch
We went for Saturday lunch for my husband's birthday. The menu is very varied, the staff fantastic, food and service all excellent.
I love Quo Vadis, I love that
I love Quo Vadis, I love that it is in the heart of Soho, I love that a once faded dining room is dotted with a few celebs ( Terry Jones, Alan Rickman & Toby Jones, when I was last in) and I love a place that manages to feel elegant, special but somehow comfortable. Chez Bruce I think is the master of this. The Food, well I think the menu is a bit one note and if you are going to offer something like Crab in a ramakin with fried bread, the crab has to be wonderful and the fried bread should be like a mouthful of oil. I go back here time and again to meet old friends coming to London for the day and for media-type lunches and it works everytime. Bit of work on the menu please!
Great Evening Meal
My family and I had a wonderful experience when we celebrated our daughters birthday at Quo Vadis last week.
Everything was great especially the goose which I had.
Thanks for the great service and super food.
My wife and I come to London 5 or 6 times a years, from Dundee, Scotland. We have done all the 'tourist things' years ago and simply come down to enjoy the good restaurants, shopping theatre etc.
We visited Quo Vadis on Tuesday 22nd October and we could not have received better service or food anywhere else.
The service, first of all, was impeccable from the very start of our visit and I doubt if e've had better service anywhere else in London. All the staff could not do more and were extremely helpful and attentive, without being intrusive.
With regards to the food, if I could have given a rating higher than 5 stars, I would have, but unfortunately, I did not have that option.
If you have tried here yet, you must!
Although the menu is not extensive, the choices are interesting and unique. I had the middlewhite which was cooked perfectly. My partner was more adventurous and went for the grouse (he was told it was a very gamey dish). And indeed, it would have been way too gamey for me but he managed to get through his dish.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service is good.
We went for my boyfriends
We went for my boyfriends birthday, lovely food, unusual and hearty, good atmosphere, nice staff, all in all a lovely evening, I would definitely go again.
The service was friendly and attentive. The food was great with interesting twists on traditional foods. They were attentive to our food allergies (milk and gluten) and so the experience is one we look forward to repeating!
We had a post-theatre dinner at Quo Vadis at 10 pm on Saturday evening. The food was very good, with plenty of dishes on the menu that we were interested in. Our pheasant and boar's shoulder were both lovely. The thing that really stood out was the quality of the service. No one ever came and interrupted our conversation to ask if everything was OK, as so often happens these days, but staff always appeared from nowhere at exactly the right times, even to navigate me back to my table when I got confused on the way back from the toilet. At about £95 for 2 courses for 2, including a bottle of wine, including service charge I think it was good value, considering it was a special meal.
Great value for money
Was sceptical but really tasty, interesting british food. All very well executed. I had leg of boar and my partner had venison. The service is impeccable, attentive and friendly. All this and the set menu is only £20. Ideal for a business lunch, but nice enough for special occasions and dates.
I just keep going back; my favourite restaurant in my favourite part of London.
Fantastic food at Quo always
Quo Vadis is my favourite place to go with friends or family for a guaranteed great time. The food is exceptional and service always impeccable. I would highly recommend the restaurant for lunch or dinner, or the bar for a quick cocktail and snack for a catch up with a friend after work.
Very agreeable two course lunch. Excellent food and wine. Very agreeable staff
Really lovely meal, food was great especially the longhorn steak - a plateful of cow well cooked and seasoned had my husband won over. Serving staff very friendly and knowledgeable....great recommendations for oairing wine and dessert. A really fun evening.
A great evening
Excellent menu and meal, fabulous service, buzzy atmosphere. But the room was very noisy, difficult to have a conversation.
A small but interesting menu,
A small but interesting menu, no one of the 6 in our party struggled to make a choice, and any requests and alternatives were no problem. Delicious food, really enjoyed the unfussy vegetables! Good atmosphere, very helpful and friendly service.
Check the website where daily menu is available together with vege options. We enjoyed both dishes on the pre-theatre menu. Staff very attentive but placed us on the inner corner of main thoroughfare which was not so intimate, particularly as staff tend to stand nearby. Delicious meal though, thanks.
I went for dinner with my partner for our anniversary. The menu struck the right balance between interesting but not outlandish and the ambience was pleasant but not stuffy. The food itself was very good and reasonably priced if you go for a set menu which does not short-change. I only left an off-the-cuff note about the anniversary in my reservation so it was nice to get a couple of cheeky candles with desert from the attentive but unpretentious staff. Only drawback is that on the Thursday night all the other tables in our room were groups - so be aware when booking.
went on Saturday lunchtime
went on Saturday lunchtime 23/11. Ben and the team at Quo Vadis were brilliant wonderful example of good customer service. The food was outstanding especially the veal main, sticky toffee pudding in fact all the three courses were delicious . It made a special day complete after arriving at Waterloo on a steam train.
Will definitely go again
very good food in a nice atmosphere. The staff was very nice, from the girls at the doors to the waiters. I loved the place and will probably go back on a regular basis.
Great evening from the start & it just got better.
Jeremy Lee probably the most underrated Chef in London.
His spin on traditional food hits the spot.
Oh! & he is so shy !!!!!!!
He made a good dinner party great.
Quintessential London Dining
There may be more sumptuous or exclusive restaurants but if you want a superbly London dining experience, Jeremy Lee is you man. The service is unobtrusive but polished, the menu is quirky and individual. Genuinely not what you get elswhere. And what's more you are surrounded by the rich variety of all that is Soho.
Great Meal for Anniversary
Really enjoyed our 2nd wedding anniversary meal at Quo Vadis. Service was very attentive - the manager took time to ask if everything was ok a couple of times.
Food was also very good and was fair value for the price of the dishes.
Would certainly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.
Examining the menu on their
Examining the menu on their website, I wandered why would a restaurant serving English food have such a biblical name? "Quo Vadis", meaning "Where are you going?" in Latin, stands out on Dean street between the typical bars and pubs of Soho.
Walked into a beautiful place, where our table for two looked more like a table for four and directly started with their to-die-for (homemade?) bread. My main was a melt in mouth experience, as I am talking about lamb. Unfortunately I thought that the vegetarian dish (corn bread with goat's curd) was a bit to sweet, but my friend loved it, so that's really a matter of taste. And an excellent very berry mess to finish supper. So Quo Vadis? Well to Quo Vadis!
Followed Jeremy Lee from 'Blueprint
Followed Jeremy Lee from 'Blueprint Cafe' - does not disappoint. The dining room is classy, the tables generously proportioned and not too close together. There was enough choice from a suitably small menu of fresh produce to entice the most jaded diner, and it changes daily. The grilled squid with panterella was excellent and unfussy (as was all the food); the roast veal with greens and a touch of chill sounded simple but was quite delicious. The sticky toffee pudding with brown bread ice cream was outstanding (joked with the waitress that it could feed a family of four, and then finished the lot!). The much smaller buttermilk pudding with berries was also delicious. Many wines are affordable.
Excellent, friendly and well
Excellent, friendly and well informed service - both in terms of ingredients and wine selection. Great bread and plenty of it. Terrine starter had lots of flavour and good texture. Main courses were good - pork and teal but the latter won't suit people who don't want to deal with a small bird on the bone. Both needed an extra side dish. Good atmosphere - nice buzz, not too loud. Would definitely recommend.
