I booked this for my husband
I booked this for my husband 70th birthday. What a wonderful meal. It was everything I had read about and more. Thank you for the wonderful service, we will definitely be back.
Excellent environment, food
Excellent environment, food and service - ideal for pre-theatre
Dinner at Kaspar's
Food was lovely, service impeccable with highly professional and friendly staff. Highly recommended
We dined at Kaspar's at the
We dined at Kaspar's at the Savoy in central London and had a wonderful time. The host was so charming and friendly, though our waiter was more matter of fact. Still, excellent service. Our food was delicious, though the lemon sole goujons were a little bland. One shock was the £20 glass of champagne. Very pricey. We will definitely return for the food, ambience and the buzz.
Food is not bad as expected. Friend complaints the escargot starter is slightly overly salted, but all the seafood we had were fresh and nice
Great food, shame about the service
The food is second to none, absolutely nothing to complain about there. The restaurant itself is also stunning, the art deco design creating a superb atmosphere.
Now the bad bit - the service. Maybe it was just our waitress, or perhaps the fact that we just had the pre-theatre menu, but the waitress was very pushy and abrupt, hurrying us along to order our food and then not being particularly personable when it came to serving us.
Other than that though, fantastic, we will definitely go again.
Wonderful dinner at Kaspers
We always know that we are having a great time when we are once of the last to leave! The whole place is decadent, the food was just perfect, I love seafood and we have oysters to start and scallops delicious! Our main was lamb cutlets which were also delicious, so tasty tender and well seasoned. The broccoli on the side was great too, a little bit of chilli made all the difference.
As it was our Anniversary, we were give a large chocolate disc with Happy Anniversary on and two chocolate lollipops.
We loved it, and would love to go back. Delicious and memorable.
lovely ambience, service & food
Lovely ambience, good service and food. We will return.
Great Venue for Great Eating
Loved my dinner at Kaspar's. Had a grilled half lobster which was sublime, mixed veg which were flavoursome and fresh and a rice pudding to die for, a wonderful dining experience. Will certainly revisit regularly.
Kaspar's seafood bar and grill
It does get busy so service can be a tad indifferent, but food is worth the wait
I had a wonderful dinner. The service was second to none and the food was outstanding. I would definitely recommend the this restaurant and all it comes with.
Great place for a special occassion
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the ambience is enjoyable. The menu selection is very good and the prices not that bad for a high end hotel restaurant. I can recommend the tuna tartare starter and the lobster and lamb main courses.
Great food.. Excellent service..
Savoy high standard
From the greeting to the end it was perfect. Staff remembered our special requests and handled them beautifully.
Had an absolutely lovely time.
Excellent pre-theatre dining
Very good food served in a very attractive & relaxed setting. The pre-theatre menu is not automatically presented, it must be requested.
Service was generally very good, but one server seemed disinterested. 12.5% gratuity is added to the bill, although this is discretionary.
One carafe of still water was complimentary, but a second was charged to the bill. The cost was removed when I complained.
Special meal in a special location
We had the pre-theatre set menu which had a fantastic amount of choice, and for the quality was excellent value. For £3 extra, I would recommend having a 3rd course, as the Chocolate Sphere I had was a real show stopper. Portion sizes where just right. Service was friendly and the restaurant decor and setting stunning. Would recommend and will definitely be going back.
Great Place Wonderful decor
What a fantastic venue in a brilliant setting. Food quality was excellent and service great. The only tiny think was that the food came out really quickly. Otherwise a perfect 10.
The atmosphere, the staff, the food, everything was excellent, literally can not say a bad word about it! Greeted by very friendly staff, all staff were very informative, polite and they all had a sense of humour which made the evening even better! Food was outstanding, can not fault it in any way shape or form!
I ate here with my 15 year old son before a show. We opted for the pre theatre menu. I thought the food would be smaller portions due to the excellent price but how wrong could I have been. The quality and quantity were outstanding, service excellent and I finished dessert more than pleased. Fantastic restaurant with a great choice of food and wines - if visiting London again I will definately be returning.
My daughter suggested that
My daughter suggested that I book a table for a pre-theatre dinner at Kaspar's and I am delighted that I followed her advice. I went there with my husband and two American friends and we had the most pleasing time there.; the Savoy is a delight to the eyes and the food was gorgeous, the service very friendly and efficient. We would have loved to linger a bit longer but we had to leave in a rush to be on time at the theatre.
A most pleasant beginning to a fantastic evening. All my friends have heard about it and I certainly will book again when I go next to London.
An evening at Kaspars
Relaxed atmosphere with superb food. Steak done to perfection and the fish platter the best i've tasted. Cheese board excellent ( but more required please )...
Fresh food, stunning setting
I really enjoyed the food here - sometimes took a while to hail for service but overall very good. Quality of fish and seafood superb, as you'd expect. The location is amazing too and worth dressing up for.
Engaging and amusing maitre
Engaging and amusing maitre d'; made us feel very welcome
Elegantly refurbished restaurant...good ambiance
Top quality steak, very well cooked
Very tasty scallops, good vegetables
Not enough time between starter and main (main arrived too quickly)
A little pricey for what it is, wine probably the culprit
Seafood at its best
I absolutely loved the food and dinning experience. I had the lobster cocktail and half a lobster for main and I enjoyed every bite of it. Service was excellent and very we'll managed. The only downfall that I had was the seating. We were placed in the middle of and what it seemed to be a walk walk way for the staff and other diners. And their was a couple of following diners that obviously do not have any etiquette as there was a lot of foul language beside us which I found totally uncalled for. Trying to have a quiet evening while sitting in traffic and foul mouth customers was out the window.
Birthday dinner pre theatre
I booked Kaspar's for my husband's birthday meal before going on to the theatre. It was very easy to book online and a member of staff phoned me to confirm the booking the day before. On arrival we found the staff very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and felt very calm and relaxed. The pre theatre menu is very good value offering a choice of dishes at a very reasonable prices considering we were in London. Our food was delicious and I particularly enjoyed my dessert, a chocolate sphere filled with passion fruit sorbet which melted when the hot passion fruit sauce was poured on! My husband enjoyed the pumpkin risotto and sticky toffee pudding! We have already recommended Kaspar's to our friends.
Style over substance
Food and service were perfectly adequate but the setting was our dinner’s highlight.
Perfect for all occasions
I booked Kaspars for pre theatre dinner as part of my partners birthday celebrations. From the moment we arrived the staff were very attentive and friendly. Birthday greetings were offered to my partner which was a nice touch. We selected from the set course menu which had items we both liked. I had the caramelised goats cheese with walnut dressing followed by salmon fillet. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our meal immensely. The portion sizes were very good and i felt that we received great value for money overall as the ambience in the Savoy is always exceptional and every need is catered for. An excellent dining experience which I would recommend to anyone.
pre theatre meal
Had very good meal lovely service, enjoyed. The Bill was incorrect and had to be re done then i feel i paid too much for the food as it showed 4x £26 equals 115 when it should show £104 not sure what happened then ??
A group of 6 had a table booked for 7:30 last Saturday, we arrived early and tried to have a drink an the American Bar, unfortunately it was full so we made do with standing.
7:25 came so we made our way to the restaurant only to be told they were running behind but to have a drink in the bar just adjacent and they would find us, no big deal.
That bar was also full so we had to sit out in the open area, I tried to get into the bar which was full only to be told that only people sitting in the bar could go to the bar, they would however send someone over, they did, 10 minutes later ! The drinks (standard cocktails) took a further 15 minutes to arrive.
Im running out of space but the upshot was, the table finally became available at 8:20
Cat that go the cream
Great welcome, menu and food.
Classic Service that is second to none.
Fantastic value for money.
Fantastic value for money. Cannot fault it. Atmosphere, service and quality of food extremely good. We will be back.
Kaspar's at The Savoy
Excellent food, friendly and helpful staff. Service not quite up to usual Savoy standard. Music a little too intrusive.
Pre theatre meal
This is a perfect start to an excellent evening before a show. The standard of food was superb, will definitely revisit.
The whole package
I visited the Kaspar Seafood Bar & Grill for a Friday dinner and was impressed.
I opted for snails and was delighted that it was done to perfection the traditional way. Had grilled lobster for a main which was superb and my husband took the seafood platter and when our waitress was asked to remove the oysters and substitute with something else that was immediately catered for. Champagne by the glass list provided lots of options rather than the normal 1-2 choices. My dessert which was a chocolate sphere with hot passion fruit sauce poured on top, was divine. Top quality food and excellent service with a smile. The interiors is stunning and creates a lovely ambience.
Will go back very soon!
Beautiful location, varied
Beautiful location, varied menu, great food and service
Visiting from Detroit for our honeymoon. Kaspar's is located in the Savoy which is a great hotel with a lot of history and ritzy vintage decor (so gorgeous and when we return to London we will be staying here next time). The service was spectacular with great suggestions from the waitress and the food was delicious. My husband and I really enjoyed our night and went to the bar that was attached to the Savoy for amazing cocktails afterwards with piano entertainment. Such a great night out.
first class venue
took my mum for a post theatre dinner as a birthday treat. Staff were very welcoming, food delicious, and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. Would go again.
Dinner at Kaspars
All five of us had the pre-theatre menu and we all enjoyed our meal very much. The food, service and surroundings all combined to make our meal a very enjoyable experience.
Good deal for Pre-theater
We came for pre-theater dinner menu which was consisted of 2-3 dishes.
In such occation which last for 60-75 minutes U R looking for features like quick response and light dishes.
The food was excellent, the service was polite and responsive though the check-out took more than anticipated.
Bottom line' we r reccomending this restaurant especially for the food and service...
Delicious smoked & cured fish
Went for a light early dinner with my husband as we wanted to try the place. The beautiful setting and immaculate service do not disappoint. He had the smoked & cured fish which were all very tasty and original. I had the seafood platter and was a bit disappointed (very standard and just a few crab flakes). Also disappointed there wasn't any bisque d'homard or fish soup on the menu. The apple tatin was very good and what a nice surprise the mocha lollipops!
Tucked away at the far end
Tucked away at the far end of the Savoy entrance glitz and glamour, Kaspars is surprisingly informa. The best lobster cocktail (bulging with sweet lobster meat and in a light dill sauce). And sea bream perfectly cooked (although the cold papaya salad tended to overpower the subtlty of the seasoned fish. My partner had scallops and then grilled lobster and was equally happy (apart from the overly salted chips). The chocolate sphere was theatrical and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall - given the prestige of the location, the quality of the food and the overall ambiance of being special but not stuffy, the bill of around £100 per head (including cocktails and a decent bottle of wine) didn't feel at all unjustified.
Just back from a weekend in London with the girls. We fancied treating ourselves to a meal before going to see 'Wicked' and so we opted for the pre-theatre menu at £23.00 for 2 courses or £26.00 for 3 courses. The meal was lovely and the service was really good. Overall it was exceptionally good value for money.
Amazing food and setting
This is my daughter and my second visit and we can highly recommend the food, service, ambience and value for money. We had the pre-theatre menu which was amazing.
Give it a whirl
The surroundings are very opulent and service is attentive but not overbearing. Excellent fish- sea bass -it was crisp and succulent. The passion fruit and chocolate desert was sensational- a round bomb melted with hot sauce at the table - all with a flourish. The Savoy is iconic and what fun to eat there.
Great food, good service
This is the second time I have eaten here and I have not been disappointed on either occassion. The restaurant is beautifully laid out and the service is really rather good. Most importantly, the food is great and the menu gives lots of options, from the more adventurous to more casual dining. There's also plenty of wines to choose from and the chocolate lollipops are a lovely touch. I therefore have no reservation in heartily recommending this restaurant and as for me, I will definitely be back!
Second visit and cant wait for the 3rd.
Everything was terrific and hats off to you all...........youve got it nailed!!!
Can't really fault Kaspars
Came here before on business and was a little worried that it might not be as good again as decided to return for an anniversary celebration but was certainly not disappointed
Japanese and Chinese options are very good
Everytime it's excellent;
Everytime it's excellent;
each time I stay in London I try to have a diner or lunch in one of your restaurants.
Lovely Meal & birthday treat
The restaurant was lovely, as you'd expect for The Savoy. The service was brilliant and our waitress was very attentive. My husband had the snails and i had a delicious fish cake, for starters. We both had the seafood platter (my husband had the Royal platter) and we were both really impressed! The presentation was really good and the seafood fresh. Unfortunately, we had to skip dessert as our show was due to start, however as i had pre-warned the restaurant it was my husbands birthday, they brought him over some chocolate lollipops, one of which said "Happy Birthday".
Obviously, the overall bill was pricey (we also had a bottle of wine) but it was what i expected and in terms of it being a birthday surprise meal my husband loved it!
