The food was really good, we had the pork belly and burger. Service was also brilliant.
Great Food and Good Service
Took my mum to Kettners for a birthday dinner with some of the rest of the family. The bar for drinks beforehand had a nice atmosphere and the cocktails were first class. Service in the restaurant was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Champagne afternoon tea
Had lovely afternoon tea very good value as only £55 for 2 (including a bottle of champagne as per special offer on Kettners website) delicious cakes especially the violet and chocolate profiterole. Great service and lovely atmosphere in the restaurant
Very attentive staff; was my birthday and we had champagne on arrival and at the end we were sent a little birthday-plate with my name on it and a little candle... The waitress was amazing, lovely girl I believe Anne from Brittany. The food was spotless, nice and juice oysters, amazing fishcakes. Definitely coming back.
Great light lunch
Very pretty restaurant; friendly staff. I recommend the tuna salad and house white wine. Only £25 a head for mains, wine and coffee. Will come back.
Quick and efficient
Pre theatre meal this time. Restaurant was very busy but that did not impact quick, efficient and friendly service. Menu choices are always consistent and well executed. Good wine list but the Champagne choices are the real star.
Another very enjoyable evening,
Another very enjoyable evening, with delicious sea bass. Consistently good. Attentive service - waiter even ran down the street with umbrella that one of us had left at our table.
We visited for a pre-theatre meal which not only was very tasty (pork terrine, cumberland sausage & mash, chocolate mousse) but good value at about £21. Service was quick and polite and the atmosphere buzzing. The only downside is the pricey beer, which at £4.80 for 33cl is steep even for London.
Very noisy, bit like school
Very noisy, bit like school lunch times with ambient noise level very high, but good atmosphere. Had a couple sitting next to us talking very loudly, but not the establishments issue.
Very good restaurant really
Very good restaurant really appreciate the atmosphere, only small comment it is a bit too noisy. The food was good and the service very good. Mattheo was our waiter and he did a very good job smiling and very enthusiastistic. Thanks to him a great experience.
Outstanding as always
Great food and service but the price is rising for the set menu. Always a great atmosphere and Friday was buzzing! Loads of staff so you are always well attended to throughout your visit from the moment you walk in to the time that you leave - there's always a smile from everyone.
Can't Beat it
Am a Kettners fanatic and cannot praise this wonderful restaurant enough. Accommodating, attentive with brilliant service they have been producing excellent food for years!! hurrah to a perfect British restaurant.
Service was quick and very good. Very pleasant, helpful waitress. We had two or three courses on the pre-theatre menu. Quantities were moderate but very tasty. Ambience was very good. i would recommend this restaurant and it was our first visit, We would definitely go there again.
Birthday dinner at Kettners
Brilliant meal with great service in a beautiful setting.
The only downside was how popular and busy it was, as with the tables so close, it was rather snug.
Overall a definite recommend for a special occasion.
We Booked a pre-theatre meal
We Booked a pre-theatre meal for 6 people. Seated at our table promptly at booked time. Service was excellent and food of equal standard. Ambience excellent. I would rate the value highly and would not hesitate recommending this restaurant.
Spent an enjoyable time at Kettners. Food & drink was good, no complaints at all. Would return again.
lovely girly lunch
I went to Kettner's for a lunch with friends and we had a great time. The service was excellent and the food delicious. As were the cocktails!
Excellent value and charm
My girlfriend and I have been quite a few times this year (together and separately), as we love the character and atmosphere of the place. The food is very good and it is an absolute steal if your are a taste card holder.
Great atmosphere, great service
Great atmosphere, great service and good traditional food.
Good afternoon tea celebration
Two for afternoon tea with a bottle of champagne .good ambience, lovely afternoon tea offering. Champagne, lovely.
Good service .
The service was excellent , very kind helpful they went out of their way to accommodate our needs . The atmosphere was calm and relaxing , an oasis in soho . The food however although very tasty main the portions were tiny and the desert looked very lonely on the plate , more like a taster . All four of us ate again later and we are only a group of size 10 women . The lovely staff made up for it especially our lovely French waitress . But management ..... We can't afford to eat twice in an evening so we will not be returning .
I thoroughly enjoyed Kettner's - it's a beautiful restaurant with great service. The food was very good, although a little over priced (I know the building is beautiful, but it used to be a Pizza Express). I find it hard justifying a high price for such simple fare, but it was well presented and prepared at least.
My only quibble was that the rib eye steak had no eye. There didn't appear to be an ounce of fat on or in the steak. If I wanted a steak without any fat, I would have ordered a sirloin. Huge disappointment, but the rest of the meal was great, as were my clients.
Yum as always
Yet again this restaurant doesn't disappoint. Visited with some friends and had a great night. Good food, good service and a great atmosphere. It was a first visit for my dining companions but they all had a great time too and agreed they would return. Visited the bar before and after - which is also a great addition.
Most definitely not my last visit.
Great pre-theatre dinner
Ate here prior to the evening Once performance, food was excellent, quite noisy though and wine expensive but this is London I suppose. Great location, would go back again
Fantastic as always and our waiting was fantastic and very conciderate concidering we had a small baby with us.
Waiter did get my main course wrong. I ordered the beef burger and received the roast beef. I didn't say anything as we were up against time but slightly dissappointed as i don't like Yorkshire Puddings so the meal wasn't right for me.
Otherwise everything was great.
Using my Tastecard creates exellent value for money. I never normally go back to the same resaurant, just because I like to try different places all the time, but for a special occasion I had to go back. The waiter, food and building are super!
Late lunch in Kettner's was another great experience for my guests and were v impressed with the standard of food, ambience and service. Kettner's never fails to please.
An affordable treat, as always!
Kettner's is really a "go-to" favourite of mine if meeting friends in the West End. The setting and surroundings never fail to impress and the atmosphere in the restaurant is always buzzy.
On this visit, the food and service was as exemplary as always. My party enjoyed the pork belly, the beef bourguignon and the classic cheeseburger. All delicious. A special mention too must go to the pear and almond tart with clotted cream.
The one slight niggle I would add is that - if memory serves - the bar menu has changed somewhat and there is only one option for Champagne by the glass. A shame, in our opinion, as Kettner's has always been - first and foremost - a fantastic Champagne bar.
Still - I will certainly continue to go back.
Very good meal, food quality
Very good meal, food quality good and service and attention of staff excellent.
The vegetable wellington was delicious. No complaints at all, a lovely meal, excellent service, they gave us plenty of time. Kettner's doesn't disappoint.
It was great! We were four
It was great! We were four friends and we enjoyed the place, the food, the champagne... everything!
Oyster were delicious and the meet was perfect!!!
I will go back, very soon!
Dinner for 5 at Kettners
Myself and 4 friends ate dinner here on Friday night. Service was great, food was very good, will most definitely be returning
Booked kettners for a pre theatre dinner. Our waiter asked us if we were going to the theatre and said he would make sure we were ready in time - and we were. Good atmosphere and enjoyable food - and only a short walk to the Apollo theatre!
A lively atmosphere without being noisy. Very good waiting staff. Food the weakest area. Vegetarian meal needed side dish of vegetables but was very filling. A bit sweet rather than savoury. Starters ok but wished I'd chosen soup. Pavlova a bit lacking in cream and meringue a bit too hard to chew on.
Fun venue with good atmosphere
Fun venue with good atmosphere
The tea wasn't the best I've ever had but was very good value and so is recommend
Can thoroughly recommend the oysters and beef carpaccio for starters and pork belly with mustard mash as a main course. Good selection of desserts. The service was extremely attentive.
Booked Kettner's for a pre
Booked Kettner's for a pre theatre meal with my family on a Saturday. Arrived a few minuted ahead of our booking and were promptly seated. Although it was only 5pm there was already a great buzz around the place. Our waiter was really good, the right amount of chat and attentiveness without going overboard. The food was delicious and there was great variety to choose from, however this was because we decided not to order from the set menu. Overall it was a great start to our evening and will definately be going back.
Brilliant pre theatre meal
On Saturday 30th Novenber I took my wife here as a surprise meal before going onto the theatre. The venue was busy and had a superb ambiance with everybody enjoying. We orderd the three course set menu which was delicious.
Israel our waiter was extremly attentive and when he found out it was my wifes birthday, he seved her dessert with a candle in the strawberry, happy birthday written in icing on the plate and a complimentery strawberry daiquiri. Superb meal and service
Perfect Sunday lunch.
Booked a table for a Sunday roast and it didn't disappoint. We each had a roast dinner (3 lamb, 1 turkey). The lamb was delicious! 4 different deserts followed (chocolate brownie, pear tart, pavlova and Christmas pudding) the brownie was to die for! Gorgeous food, wonderful service and a lovely atmosphere.
This wasn't my first visit to Kettners and it certainly won't be my last.
Great for pre-theatre dinner
We ate here early with some friends. Most of us had transport problems and arrived late but the restaurant coped magnificently. Food was good though the wine list was pricey. Prompt, attentive and helpful service that was a real help to my friend who has a lot of food allergies. Kettners is back on my list of favourite restaurants!
There are lots of great eateries in this area, but as so many of them are very busy, Kettners is one of the few you have a really good chance of getting a table at because it is so big. It's very popular with big groups who hire the private rooms upstairs, so be prepared to push through slightly unruly crowds congregating at the door for a smoke, in the entrance and at the top of the stairs enroute to the loos. Service generally was very good, though it did slow when busy. Food was a bit on the elaborate side, but very well cooked and delicious.
took my elderly Mother to Kettners for a pre theatre dinner as a birthday treat. She is quite picky in what she eats. But everything she had was perfectly cooked and and overall a very enjoyable evening.
Great service, good food. Always a pleasure to visit Kettners
Had a great pre-christmas lunch> Food and service were excellent.
My friend & I were recommended Kettners & were not disappointed.
The atmosphere was relaxed but with excellent surroundings, professional service without being too stuffy & a fabulous choice of champagne by the glass!
The waiter we had was helpful in offering help in wine choices. We were not disappointed. We both had steak which was cooked perfectly & tasted wonderful!
We meet every first Friday of December & it is a chance for us to splash out a bit & have good food & wine. Kettners was an ideal setting & I would not hesitate to recommend eating here to anyone wanting something a bit special.
Fabulous lunch & we may well be back next year!
Great Pre Theatre Lunch
Had a lovely lunch before Theatre matinee for a friends birthday.
Although restaurant noisy when busy, it has a lovely happy vibe!
A return visit
We had used Kettners for a pre-theatre meal once before and as it was a known quantity decided to return. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was good.
Fantastic food, very attentive
Fantastic food, very attentive waiters. Great location and would definitely eat there again.
My wife and I were celebrating 14 years together. We've been to Kettners before, once post-theatre and once to celebrate with friends. Both times good but this was the best. We were given a corner table which oversaw the whole dining room whilst being intimate. Our waiter, Edward, was charming, engaging and discreet and made our evening special without enquiring why we were there. The food and wine were excellent and worth the central London prices. Even the hat check woman was made us feel welcome!
Yes, I'd go back and yes, I'd recommend it to friends.
Great food - nice setting
For a work get together, this restaurant was very good. Very good food, nice setting.
