Another great meal
After a visit to "The Commitments" at the Palace Theatre (well worth seeing, by the way), we had a table booked for 6pm. After the usual courteous reception at the door, we were shown to a table in the far back corner, a great location as you don't get other diners or staff brushing past you.
We had some bread and tapenade with our bottle of Sancerre, followed by Duck and Tuna Steaks for my wife and myself. The food was terrific and piping hot: the service was fast and efficient. Desserts of Eton Mess and Creme Brulee were great too.
Perfect location for theatreland and Covent Garden. Great food, great service ..... what more could one want? We will definitely be back next time we are in London. But do make sure that you book in advance.
Great choices for all types! Very nice portions and food was delicious.
Palm Court Brasserie Covent Garden
The 50% offer was really good value as it applied to all starters and mains with the exception of steak. Lots to choose from on menu. Restaurant is perfect for pre-theatre as just round corner form Strand.
I've been here several times now and would definitely recommend
We had a pre theatre meal in The Palm Court Brasserie on Monday but on the 50% deal rather than the pre theatre menu. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. We have eaten here before and will be back again. It is one of our favourite restaurants.
Despite being fairly quiet
Despite being fairly quiet on a Monday lunchtime, the atmosphere in the Palm Court was pleasant, and didn't feel "empty". The service was, as rated, outstanding - we were very well attended.
The menu was excellent - something for everyone, with the set menu offering excellent value.
We had booked via TopTable and were benefitting from a 50% discount on the food. Lovely. We were not treated in any way differently to full-price payees (something that a couple of other restaurants could probably learn from) and all in all we enjoyed our time and lunch immensely.
I would definitely return.
Enjoyed a great lunch at Palm Court. Very good food and value for the location (which can be quite tourist heavy). Saw some good pre-post theater offers. Great food.
Excellent value, great location
The food, service and location set this restaurant apart for being excellent value. Perfect for a weekend night catch up with a friend.
Very good food
I would reserve an outstanding 5 stars for an innovative restaurant but I truly think the food at the Palm Court is excellent. The duck and lentils was so full of flavour and the chicken liver foie gras was delicious. Personally I struggle to find a restaurant that doesn't add chilli to everything. The french influence is very much to the fore. The plates are well crafted. The pre-Theatre deals are such good value too. The service is prompt and all the staff are very friendly. They pay attention to detail and the portions are the perfect size. I would unreservedly recommend this restaurant.
Situated right in the heart of theatre land the restaurant delivers what it says on the tin. Good food efficiently served. Tables are quite close together but this adds to the buzzy atmosphere. It's not the Ritz but it is value for money.
Very handy for St Pauls church
Very handy for St Pauls church concerts. Good value for money. Lots of choice for fish and meat eaters and vegetarians. 3 of our party declared the mussels to be excellent. A bit noisy as we had a party of birthday girls next to us. When they had left we could hear one another. All in all an excellent choice for post-concert dinner.
Palm Court Brasserie
I thought the Palm Court was a real find and would be very happy to eat there if I was in the area. It is an ideal location for Covent Garden and West Theatres. My mushroom risotto with truffle oil and shaved Parmigiana was perfect, and my three friends were equally delighted with the quality of their meal. Service if very professional, and friendly. It was a Monday evening and the restaurant was almost full, but as the acoustics were good, and there was no background music conversation was easy. The 50% discount ment that value was excellent. Highly reccomended.

One of our usual haunts, A good meal with good service, and a lovely welcome
First time at Palm Court Brasserie
First time at Palm Court Brasserie and definitely won't be the last. Probably wouldn't recommend for a romantic dinner a deux but very lively atmosphere, good menu and food to match.
Entertaining Australian guests
We've been to this restaurant many times before, so chose it to entertain some Australian friends before they left the country to continue their travels. They were most impressed with the quality of the food - good value for money by London standards - as well as the choice on the menu. Service was good and friendly. The only minor inconvenience is that it can be quite noisy as it's usually full. Booking is essential: we were there at 7.00 pm. Recommended for good quality food at sensible prices.
We had a wonderful meal to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. The food was lovely (put we didn't have room for a dessert!)and we weren't rushed at all. Would definitely go back.
This was a return visit to
This was a return visit to the Palm Court Brasserie for a pre-theatre meal as it is a convenient location and their set menu is reliable and offers a range of options to suit most. We enjoyed our dinner with main courses of canard, coq au vin and salmon, which were well prepared and attractively presented. The service was a little slower than on previous occasions, but fortunately we had allowed enough time for this and, to be fair to the restaurant, it was absolutely full by the time we were leaving. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to others, particularly as a good place to dine before the theatre. We have taken several guests there in the past and they have always enjoyed their meals.
This was our second visit
This was our second visit here for a pre theatre meal and the service was very good. Our party of 6 all agreed that the food was very good, with generous portions. Would go again.
Late evening, after theatre I took my friend the the Palm Court and was impressed with the armw, friendly atmosphere of the place. We were made comfortable, given choice of table, time to study the menu even though we were rather late, the food was excellent and we left pleased and happy.
I booked Palm Court for a
I booked Palm Court for a pre-theatre dinner for 8. I am always slightly nervous of these occasions because I always find myself watching the clock. Well relax I have finally found a restaurant who really understands what is required and delivers. The atmosphere in Palm Court is great, a nice buzz without being loud. We had the two course offer and the Kir Royal were delivered promptly. Orders were quickly taken without having to look around for a waiter and the food was of a high quality. Having sat down at 5.45 we finished our meal within the hour without feeling rushed and had time for a leisurely coffee. The VFM of the deal was exceptional and I would love to return for a more leisurely dinner in the future.
Wow --- What an Atmosphere !!
Went for Evening Meal 8.30 Friday Night -- Buzzing
Food ( Fillet Steaks ) were to die for._-- Sweets equally Good
Very good prices for London & right in the Heart of Covent Garden
Much larger inside than you would believe
Do try it ---You will be thrilled with the experience
Sue & Mike
Buzzing, friendly restaurant providing excellent service (notably Speedy Gonzalez!). Will come again!
Good atmosphere - good service
Good atmosphere - good service even when busy, plenty waiters - extensive menu, and actual food served was of high quality, very tasty, the right temperature and quantities and presentation. Good selection of wines at good prices. This is the sort of place, run professionally and efficiently, that you could eat in every day and never have cause for complaint. Space is tight, but this adds to the atmosphere.
Staff were attentive even
Staff were attentive even though they were very busy (Saturday 7:00pm). Apertiffs went down a treat (She who must be obeyed loved the Bellini). Favourite wine available at a good price (Pouilly Fumé) Food was well presented and main was cooked to preference (Rump of Lamb). Excellent value for Covent Garden/West End.
Lovely pre-theatre meal
My mum and I visited here for a pre theatre dinner. As it was a Saturday evening we booked in advance and I would always advise booking anyway as it was very busy. The food was lovely. I got calamari for starter and it was a very generous portion. It was cooked perfectly just how I like it and it tasted great. For main course I ordered the salmon with crushed garlic and rosemary potatoes. As with the starter, the salmon was cooked just how I liked it and it tasted lovely.I would definately reccommend this restaurant to anyone really, couples, families, groups of friends as it appeals to everyone. I would say that it is a tiny bit pricey but saying that, it is central London!
Great food, great value.
Great variety of food and menu options to suit all preferences. All 4 of us had great tasting and well presented food. Will definitely go back and recommend to others.
Second time in week with a
Second time in week with a very different group of people. The staff were great, we were eating pre theatre and we never felt rushed or under pressure. Non had been before and all said they would return.
Lovely informal dinner venue
I hadn't planned in advance for dinner with girlfriends and stumbled on this place on toptable. The restaurant was perfect. Had a lovely buzzy atmosphere and the waiting staff were attentive without being over the top. We took advantage of the 25% off food option booking through toptable and it offered very good value for money.
All the girls loved the venue and we will be returning.
Dinner at the Palm Court Brasserie is always pleasant. Great food, service and ambience. A great venue for a relaxed dinner with friends or business partners.
My wife & I had an excellent meal. I particularly enjoyed one of the special mains - a 14oz T-bone steak that was cooked to perfection. We felt very comfortable and relaxed dining here with it's very friendly and efficient service. Location is very handy for Covent Garden and the theatres in the West End. We shall certainly be returning.
We had a nice dinner for four
We had a nice dinner for four on Friday night. Especially the Mediterranean fish soup starter was very good, and lobster as well.
Covent Garden lunch
Welcoming restaurant, with impeccable service. Good value, varied menu. Kir Royale on arrival turned lunch into a special occasion!
So glad I booked this place for our vsit to London. I was with my Mum and two aunties on a girly weekend, we booked this restaurant for Friday evening. The food was gorgeous and the atmoshere in here is buzzing yet cosy. Service is attentive and the menu we had was very good value. Would highly recommend to anyone who is seeking great food in a nice place.
GREAT PLACE TO EAT AND HAVE
GREAT PLACE TO EAT AND HAVE FUN ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO RETURN.
First time both my daughters and I have spent a weekend together without children, wanted to take them somewhere nice to dine out without spending a fortune. Saturday evening, couldn't have been better. We had a wonderful evening. Would definitely recommend.
This was the third time I've been to the Palm Court Brasserie and it was the busiest I've seen it (but at lunch time on a Saturday in the heart of Covent Garden that was to be expected). The food was delicious and fantastic value - how refreshing to find a London restaurant in such a great location that understands this combination will guarantee them a full restaurant (indeed, I booked a table a few days in advance and was glad I did as they were fully booked for lunch). The staff were friendly, helpful and charming and the speed of service was also exceptional for such a busy time. I would highly recommend this restaurant, although if you're looking for a quiet, romantic meal, a lively Saturday lunchtime may not be the best time to go!
Pre opera dinner
My husband said the Coq au Vin was the best he'd eaten. The baked salmon was delicious. It's a busy place, full of atmosphere and it's comfortable. You do need to book. This was my second visit, and I'm looking forward to our third.
Perfect food, ambiance and attentive service - well worth a visit!
Great service, great food, nice atmosphere. Can't ask for more, highly recommended!
The food and service was very good. Excellent value, especially considering the location.
dined here before the theatre midweek, excellent steak and frites, good but not over the top service, wine a little pricey in my opinion but everything else was very good
Very nice place a few meters away for the actual plaza of Covent Garden. Very attentive a friendly waiters, and the food was nice too (nice change from the classic pasta / pizza menu, this one actually had some proper meals).
Kir royal included in the set menu which was highly appreciated.
I had the best service I think
I had the best service I think I have ever received when dining out, at this restaurant. And the food on Toptable menu was excellent. I noticed there was a good choice for vegetarians too!
Good table, good food, nice ambience in the evening if a little dark! Both a friend and I had confit de canard and it was absolutely delicious. Service was good but could have been improved only marginally by the waiter offering to take our coats (he did when I asked). All in all, however, a lovely evening out and good food at reasonable value - a good find in covent garden 'tourist central'!
Excellent provincial French food
We all agreed that the food is excellent and great service !
Also proximity to Covent Garden a boon.
Very near tube station. Just 4 mins walk.
A must for any traveller visiting Covent Garden.
Great for lunch
We met up with friends on Friday and enjoyed the set menu which was absolutely wonderful, excellent service too!
Excellent location.. Everything good other than very noisy and slightly too dark. Service and food were excellent.
Nov 30th per theatre meal
Went for the normal menu. Wife and kids all loved thier meals. Only down side was my duck which I asked for medium but was fairly inedibal. If you go for the duck ask for it well done, everything else on my plate was great.
pre-theatre - such a great
pre-theatre - such a great buzz, great lighting, yummy food, reasonable prices.
Great super wonderful
We had an incredible time at Palm Court, the food was fantastic and service excellent. Well worth a visit although you may have to save up a little but its well worth it.
What a lovely find
We booked this restaurant having been a couple of times to Boulevard Brasserie, and wanted a change. What we didn't realise was that they are the same chain so we knew what the food quality would be like. We were certainly not disappointed. Everything was excellent from the service as soon as we walked in to the quality of the food. There is certainly no doubt we will be back.
