I can only recommend the Hoxtong Grill, one of my favorite places in London!
Good had a nice meal music a bit loud for us but was fully booked could maybe do with a happy hour.
Fun food cocktails
A group of girl friends and I went out for a meal and could have stayed all night food was great cocktails were lovely and a great atmosphere in the buzzing bar area.
Tasty and snazzy
Everything on the menu sounded delectable. I had the chicken BLT delivered on toasted breaded with some nicely dressed green salad and loved every minute of it. Really fancied the red-leather booth seats too. Overall, I would recommend it for sure.
We sat in the outdoor section and the staff were extremely accommodating in setting up a table for us when we requested it last minute. The food and drink was all great, especially the hanger steaks! The only bad thing I can say was that the staff seemed to be a bit overwhelmed at times, but otherwise they were friendly and helpful. Paying the bill was also a bit awkward as the credit card machine did not work outdoors, so the waitress had to keep running back indoors to get a signal (not helped buy the fact that we all paid separately on cards). Otherwise though, a very enjoyable evening and we all agreed that we would come back soon!
The food was good. As expected. Not at the level of any Michelin star, but really good basic food from a bar ang grill that gives great value from atmosphere, ambition and atitude. The mood is like a party with your best friends and the interior gives you the feeling of being at home with your best friends, in that huge livingroom we all whant.
Greate service and care from staff that looks like they love their place and is proud of it. I will definitely recommend The Hoxton Bar & grill for anyone looking for good food and great atmosphere. But remember to book in advance and be prepared for some party noice. It's not the quiet romantic place for couples. It's the crowded place for friends having a good time.
Good food & vibes
Very friendly service. Food served up quick & tasty. Very good atmosphere, buzzing with people. Definitely a good place for a drink or a bit to eat. Would definitely recommend.
Great first visit to Hoxton
Really enjoyed our meal here. Group of 4 friends went for a boozy saturday lunch and it was perfect. Funky interior, great art in the gallery, yummy food and scrumptious cocktails. Ended up having twice as many cocktails as planned because we wanted to try so many. Really recommend this for a relaxed bunch if 20-40 something's looking for good food and booze.
Decent business lunch
Pretty standard food steak and chips w bearnaise and spring greens but service and abience made it good. Not as good as the old Bistro du Vin or Smiths of Smithfield but all right.
late night dinner
went for a late night dinner on a friday, would totally recommend it
I'd go again
Enjoyed my visit to the hoxton grill, will probably go again. Great atmosphere and food!
Great outdoor terrace
We enjoyed our meal out on the lovely outdoor terrace. Service was very slow even though the restaurant didn't seem very busy. Food was good. Would recommend the beef ribs. Burger and pulled pork were just okay.
Relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.
Relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. Delicious diner style food and very friendly customer service.
The only down side is the 1 and a half table turn around time- which is not mentioned when you book with top table do bear in mind....
Definitely will visit again!
First visit but will be back.
Lovely atmosphere coupled with attentive service. Food is very good and the place has a real buzz on a Sunday. Make sure you book as place seems very popular with locals and hotel visitors.
My husband and i were dining out for a special occasion and chose the hoxton because we wanted good food in a vibey unpretentious setting .0ur chateauxbriand steak was cooked to perfection and the banoffee and oreo tart was out of this word!our server pete was a great host, knowledgable, enthusiastic, attentive and down to earth.the food was slightly pricier than their local competitors but we were happy to pay as the music and cocktails made for a full evening out rather than just a meal.
if only the food was better...
...then this would be a great experience! Service and setting was great but food wasn't as good so took off the shine a bit.
A fun, relaxed diner feel.
A fun, relaxed diner feel. Good food, great drinks and friendly service.
Be advised 2 hour turn around time for dinner. We had been told we could sit at the bar/outside afterwards but as we finished our meal at 11pm however, the garden was just being closed and the bar was full; that was a shame as we would have enjoyed staying a little longer.
Went at 10pm on a Friday and it was very lively. Service ws quick and food was really tastey. Only negative was if you sit near the bar the noise levels are really high.
Go for the Atmosphere not for food
Hoxton has a great buzz and atmosphere about the place. The food was fair, nothing special.. veggie options lacking a bit of creativity. You are paying for the atmosphere as opposed to high quality food. Be sure to specify if you prefer tap water or to pay £3.50 for bottled water.. we retired to the seating outside the restaurant for some drinks and when we ordered table service it already had a service charge applied which i though was a bit cheeky.. all in all it is a nice place, without the atmosphere i probably wouldnt go back to in a hurry
Yummy and friendly. Very relaxed, casual Sunday brunch. Small outdoor dining area but lovely.
Relaxing Sunday lunch
Had a really enjoyable Sunday lunch. Three fussy eaters all thoroughly enjoyed the food. Great wine list. Service was smiley. Highly recommended.
Great food, atmosphere and venue
I've been to Hoxton Grill numerous times over the years and it never disappoints. One thing I love about this place is how the atmosphere changes as the day goes on. I've been here for lunch, weekday dinner and weekend drinks and each time it's been great. It gets pretty lively in the evenings, but never over-crowded due to the amount of space inside. Cocktail list is extensive, inventive and delicious. Food is also super yummy - their mac cheese is pretty awesome!
Upon arrival a young blonde woman who stood behind a desk at the restaurant simply looked at us and went away to busy herself doing nothing else and have a friendly chat all why we watched waiting for someone to seat us for our meal, she could of at least told someone we was waiting if she was so incapable of seating us. After the annoying start we had a waiter who placed us outside (when I booked I requested this and for at least two minutes my request seemed to not bother him,it was about the seating) anyway finally a nice waiter served us, food was quick and so so so delicious, planning my next trip for the food alone, cocktails great and in the warmer days the outside is perfect. Inside interior to dark. Get some waiters who care more!
Really good food
This is a great resturant attached to the Hoxton Hotel. Steaks, Burgers and ribs are all a good choice. There is also an outdoor terrace to have a cocktail on before dinner. Nice vibe in a great spot. Not too expensive either. Only bugbear was being told that the table is ours for 1 and a half hours before we have even been seated. It just means that you can't quite relax and enjoy your dinner, as you feel you have to rush.
Had a weekend in London, booked a Meal on arrival with friends, Food and service was excellent would definately recommend a visit
Relaxed, fashionable atmosphere,
Relaxed, fashionable atmosphere, combined bar and grill - separated areas, both a pleasant experience. Effortless, value for money American style food - wings, rack of ribs very enjoyable. After dining we enjoyed drinks in the bar area also- sleek and cool. All round a very accommodating, pleasant experience.
Dinner on a Friday night.
Dinner on a Friday night. Very lively. Good food. Excellent service. Nice place for dinner with friends. A little noisy though...
The food was delicious, I had the pulled pork sandwich which was some of the best pulled pork I've had. The menu was nice and varied so there was something for everyone. My dad had the Sunday roast beef and it was also brilliant. It is on the pricier side but its worth it for a special occasion.
Really enjoyed lunch at the Hoxton Grill, good choice of meals and reasonably priced. The service was ok, our waitress was not overly friendly but the food made up for it!
As a born and raised Texan living in London, I am always on the hunt for good BBQ. There are of course some good BBQ joints around town, but I find myself reluctant to make the trek only to wait in the massive queues that always accompany the hype. Enter Hoxton Grill. A diamond in the rough! This is some truly good BBQ! The pork ribs were amazing, pulled pork sandwich divine and don't even get me started on the mac 'n' cheese! This place is definitely in our top 3 BBQ in London, but with the location and queueing convenience will likely become our go-to BBQ from here on out!
Brunch at Hoxton Grill
Had a nice brunch with a friend here at the weekend. Was a popular place. Food standard was very good. Nice golden yellow scrambled eggs. Service was a little slow, and they mixed up an order, but staff were friendly.
Excellent service, good food, a little noisy but that's what you expect in a busy successful restaurant. The waiting staff were excellent, attentive but not pushy - highly recommend the Hoxton hotel too.
Hip, without the ache
This place is just 'cool enough' to have a Shoreditch experience, without danger of bad service or overwhelming crowds.
Good cocktails, pleasant service and acceptable food. Not the best meal of your life but some dishes are quite special.
Definitely recommend booking, though!
Went here for a quick meal before seeing a band. Had the steak which was not only reasonably priced but was one of the best I have had in a while. My wife ordered the salmon which was also good although she wished she had ordered the steak as well
Great night out!
Great food, the pulled pork burger is a must! Wine was constantly topped I pans everyone had a great evening! Will definitely come back!
Save room for desert
We went on a friday night, it was very busy in the bar area and as a consequence there was a lot of ambient noise.
The service was faultless and the only problem with the food was that the Jerk Chicken was a little pink for our tastes.
great comfort food
We visited the hoxton grill on a sunday for an early evening bite to eat..the restaurant had a buzzy relaxed vibe and super comfy booth seating.we ordered a prawn burger and a pulled pork burger with chips followed by an oreo banoffee pie to shareThe meal was fabulous, cooked to perfection , real comfort food that puts a smile on your face.my only small niggle was that the menu seemed less extensive than on previous visits .we skipped the starters because our usual favourites werent on there but it wont deter me from coming back as our mains and dessert were great.
Great food and a lively buzzng atmosphere. Lovely place for a chilled dinner or celebration with friends. Great service! Highly recommend the ribs!
Love this place..!!
Great restaurant. Fabulous food and great atmosphere. Will return again and again.
Does capture the ambience of a New York eatery. Low lighting and dark wood. The music from the lobby was a tiny bit too loud but not a distraction. The waitstaff were attentive and took trouble to check on all courses. Had a wobbly table the staff went out of their way to fix it. The starters were a little unimaginative and ordinary for London but in truth are typical of a NY restaurant. The Nachos were a little limp but chicken wings wings were decent. Mains were both good and the cheesecake ice cream desert was really good.
All in all a pleasant evening meal.
fantastic meal was superb,
fantastic meal was superb, staff very freindly and extreemly helpful.
Great atmosphere, really chilled
Great atmosphere, really chilled but v professional service.
Class in the gray
From the outside you would never think that you get such a nice interior and then it food is just as good a it looks.
Large servings of top notch food
Bit of NYC in London
Good vibe here. Mix of people from suits to tourists. Fantastic service. Our waiter Max is a star.
Perfect spot for Sunday lunch
Ate Sunday lunch here with friends and it was brilliant - well priced, good portions, great quality food and drinks and professional, friendly service. Love this place!
From the warm greeting (very rare nowadays), our evening got better and better..The service was great; patient and helpful. The manager came along to ask if everything was ok' and he actually sounded as if he meant it. We were a party of three, and our waiter suggested we have the T-Bone steak. Has to be the best steak I've eaten, anywhere, and accompanying chips and salad were't a let down. Too full to eat dessert, but they looked pretty good. Great atmosphere. Very noisy, so might not suit everyone. Not normally such a carnivore, but the Hoxton Grill has spoiled me; I'll wait until the next time I come here before I have another one...
the food, the atmosphere, the location: all makes it a great experiencee
Came for a group drinks and dinner. Hoxton has a great ambience, which makes it great to relax and have some drinks. After which, we had dinner. The service was organised, fast but cold. Food was great, particularly the steaks and they have some really good desserts. Great place for dinner and drinks.
Fantastic steak at great price
Wonderful ambiance and the steak for £22 is fantastic. Highly recommend Hoxton Grill.
quite standard food, but lovely
quite standard food, but lovely place to enjoy a cocktail before meal. The service was very good!!
