The presentation in this restaurant is brilliant. I took a client and his wife and the presentation made the meal. Knowledgeable waiters and attentive staff made it an enjoyable visit.
The food was top notch and the tiffin lunch is unbeatable.
I'll definitely be back.
Very good food in a great
Very good food in a great location that is close to Covent Garden. The food and service were excellent, having chosen the tasting menu. The staff were very pleasant and pleased to explain what each of the dishes were on the menu.
A little bit pricy, but compensated for by the very good food.
I would definitely go back!
great food at a great price
4 girls looking for a bite to eat before the theatre. The food was very good. Service was good and the Price was great. Would go again recommend
Excellent Indian - West End
Just what I’ve been looking for. Fantastic Indian food prepared and presented with style and panache.
A must visit and very worthwhile.
Service and staff were excellent and complimented the atmosphere and food beautifully.
Really classy feel for a special meal. Thanks again and recommend to my friends.
Three of us dined at Moti
Three of us dined at Moti Mohal and everyone loved it!! All the food was amazing and the deal was great. What is not to like about this restaurant.
I had looked up the best places to eat Indian food in London. Having now eaten at one of the other top restaurants, I have to say Moti Mahal is tops for service and warmth, with excellent food. I'm definitely going back, and very highly recommend this restaurant.
We are never disappointed when we eat at Moti Mahal. The service is delightful the food gorgeous and the price good value. The restaurant space luxourios. Took friends for first time now it is their favorite indian restaurant.. Cant wait till the next time !!
Very good dinner
Excellent quality level staff.
Amazing food, really traditional, maybe the closest to the proper indian kitchen I tried so far.
Great tasting menu
Beautifully spiced dishes- the paneer was the best I'd ever had. Flavours well balanced on the tasting menu. Gin cocktail just wonderful. Service was very attentive (even brought a little dish of water when they noticed my husband had grit in his eye). Can't wait to go back
Pre theatre with a difference
I really enjoyed the food here, The chicken was so succulent and tasty. All the ingredients were very fresh and I liked the combination of flavours. I would highly recommend whe pre theatre 2 course menu with a signature cocktail. I will definitely go back.
Always an experience
We don't go there really frequently but (or maybe so) every time we do the food is marvellous - the tasting menus are a real experience and we've not managed to order a bad bottle of wine yet. Always around the top of my favourites list.
Having shopped around for days over where to take my better half for her birthday, I chose the Moti Mahal having read some great reviews with timeout and finding a good two courses deal (for £22) on the internet. I am not one to ever write these reviews but i was truly blown away by the meal we had there. The complimentary D.I.Y salad on it's own was worth the experience, but the food was delicious. I also contacted the restaurant before hand to ask for a good table as it was a special occasion and they pulled out all the stops to make it a special meal for my lady. They gave us the best seat in the house, gave her a cake and the staff went out of their to give us a fantastic evening, even though we were on a set meal. 5 STARS all round.
Quality food not your usual
Quality food not your usual Indian dishes altogether something more interesting. Attentive service.
This is not cheap meal but you do get excellent food so worth treating yourself
Excellent Attention to Detail
The Staff at Moti Mahal gave exceptional attention to detail. As an appetiser you get fresh vegetables to cut up and mix with some special Rock salt and spice. I booked on-line which was easy and mentioned it was a special birthday for my wife. We were served a complimentary birthday cake and sung "happy birthday" after the main meal!
The food was ok. Good but
The food was ok. Good but not outstanding. Some of the starters (theta kebab, grilled prawn) were slightly cold when served. Staff were very friendly. A bit pricey (we paid £150 for two including drinks). Overall a good and pleasant experience
Top Class Indian Restaurant
"I love the relaxed feel of this place - like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The Lamb Curry was amazing. The table was all in agreement that the King Prawn Curry was very good. Service was well-timed and friendly, Mojitos were affordable.
Excellent meal - highly recommended
We had the taster menu - vegetarian and non vegetarian. Not cheap but reasonable for what we had. They were both excellent . It makes you realise that the local takeaway is nothing like proper Indian food!
Outstanding Food and Service
This was our 5th time here, this time with guests. The food was outstanding, and the service was impeccable. We think it's better food than the Michelin starred Indian restaurant, with a more relaxed elegance and style.
Highly polished ruby
This is much more than just a curry. Lovely food well presented in a nice setting. Will definitely be back.
Indian fine dining
I haven't been to Moti Mohal for several years. Had excellent memories o and I was not disappointed. The food is interesting, creative and well presented - and the gin cocktails are a lovely start to a special evening. Took an old pal who's a curry lover here to celebrate his 50th birthday - it is definitely a special occasion type of place. It's pretty expensive but a really lovely treat and it is in the heart of covent garden.
A nice place to eat in the city
Very nice food. But potions are small. Not much to choose from if you are vegetarian. Look out for hidden charges. Drinks expensive. You get given a board with raw vegetables and spices. Which we didn't want to fill up on. You get charged for this. So make sure you decline it and check your bill. I had tap water which is fine but it wasn't chilled, no ice and wasn't topped up! But the god was tasty and different. Nice for a treat. Nice decor.
Indian food at its best
Very pleasant staff, great food but a little pricy, look to spend an average of £150 for two
Our experience at Moti Mahal was different from anything available to us close to home so for that and the select, unique menu, it was wonderful. We expected an expensive meal but have to say we were shocked at just how expensive a large glass of wine was. Also surprised to see table cover charges. I do think that if you are already paying a premium to dine out there is really no need to inflate the bill further.
Anotehr fabulous meal at Moti Mahal. had teh £19 t xoures offer. really good. We ordered rice to go with ut but didn't really need it. Can't wait to go back.
Dinner at Moti Mahal
We had the tasting menu with wine and beer pairing and vey much enjoyed both the choice of dishes as well as the wines and beers. An excellent evening and we would definitely return.
Perfect vennue for business dinner
This is one of my favorite restaurant in London, i reccomend all of my Japanese friends especially for business dinner.
Their food is sophisticated in taste and good in presentation. stuffs are quite friendly and flexible.
thier menu is quite complicated, but don't worry. you have pre-set course.
if you are a little afraid of budget, you can go with beer instead of wine. their beer list is quite attractive, too.
We had the 'taster', which came as a complete surprise through each new course. Deep flavours, greatly balanced, super service.
I ate at Moti Mahal with other people for work. We had a wide range of dishes. All of them were outstanding.
Great place - highly rated
You pay for good food and you get great food.
Worth a visit for the great quality Indian food. Itis also the home of butter chicken!
Great Ambuace. Excellent service...wonderful food. I tried the set lunch menu. Although I had to cut my own salad, I found it fun and fresh. The main dish and vegetable was just right size and tasty! Cool modern ambiance.
This was excellent!
Normally, Indian is not my favorite, but I was in London and my co-worker wanted me to try this. We had the non-vegetarian tasting meal and it was great. Well balanced heat and spices. Enjoyed every course. Would go again next time in London.
Excellent Food & Service
We had a very good dinner experience. We reached 30 minutes late from the reserved time, yet got a table in spite of the restaurant being full and it being a friday night.
It was me and my wife and we went to MMD for her birthday dinner, a very good choice indeed. The food right from starters to main course and dessert were excellent. A very rare authentic taste of Dal Makhani and Butter Chicken outside India.
The excellent food was very well complemented by excellent service.
We would highly recommend this to anyone interested in authentic Indian taste. Though it is priced a bit on the higher side yet offers excellent value for money.
The food was probably the
The food was probably the most refined Indian food I have ever had; fantastic quality, fabulous flavours - absolutely wonderful in every way, nothing to fault at all.
The service was quite slow, although they were very polite and attentive once they actually decided to acknowledge you stretching your neck and trying to make eye contact. Getting the bill and then the card machine to the table was again a challenge - if you have theatre tickets, warn them! A pleasant place but to be honest, even with the food being great the prices are unjustified. A beef meal at £23 is fine but after having paid extra for rice, naan and all, that actually puts your meal in the £35 region...Expect a bill at approx £100 for two - without starters or dessert.
good food but expensive
good service, good atmosphere, good food definitely. but a bit on the higher end for price.
Will go back
Very good restaurant, good service and very good food.
Nice change for lunch
Tiffin menu is tasty and good value. Curry is not for everyone at lunch but this works as not too heavy with lots of different flavours.
Best Indian Cuisine
The best Indian food I have ever had! So tasty and refined! I guess that the ingredients used are very rich and selected.
I've eaten here several times for special occasions and have always found it excellent. It is pricey (we paid around £50/person) but super-reliable and the food is delicious. The service is very attentive, but could perhaps be a little less distant and a bit more friendly at times. The only odd note is the music, which doesn't seem to go with either the food, decor or general style. Also, I've never eaten downstairs, but it doesn't look anything like as nice as the ground floor section.
Fantastic modern Indian food,
Fantastic modern Indian food, highly recommeded. Cocktails were equally impressive, I will be back.
Gourmet Indian Food
I went to this place (my anniversary) after almost two years but the quality of food is STILL simply outstanding!!! The staff is friendly and they got a small cheesecake with candle to cut for our anniversary, gave us masala chai and mango lassi on the house as it was a special day. We were totally stuffed with amazing food!!! It is a expensive place but worth every penny!
Great food with large prices
The service is top end. The big polish girl is a little rude, not happy serving brown people. The food is top end. The taste is good. Not authentic though. The curry sauce is more like pre cooked and the pre-cooked meat thrown in. Not totally cooked together. The portion size small. It's posh but just a little off the mark.
Elegant food, impeccable service
Our Diwali tasting menu made us fully appreciate the subtle and elegant craftsmanship of the chef, and of the genuine collaboration of the staff, who explain the order and architecture of the menu, genuinely enhancing the experience.
In addition, the staff took into account our theatre tickets, and timed the presentation of the dishes sensitively and precisely, so that we were able to enjoy the meal fully--the taxi they ordered for us arrived on exactly on time as well. A perfect pre-theatre dinner, with food of inexhaustible flavor.
Excellent food, service and
Excellent food, service and ambience as usual. One of my very favourite London restaurants for group dining or with just one other person!
Have been there a few times. Never disappointed with the meal. Can be pricey but the tiffin-lunch offer is very good value for money. Highly recommended
Very good value.
We ordered £23 3 courses menu. There were full of choices and everything made us happy. However, one of the waitress didn't give us time to choose the menu. She interrupted our conversation a few times and it was a bit annoying. Except that, the foods were tasty, environment was good. The salad was very unique. Desserts were delicious, too.
A second visit to Moti Mohal was just as good as the first. This time we went a la carte rather than the tasting menu. Lots of fish, great lamb and chicken that difficult to better.
Moti Mahal never disappoints.
Moti Mahal never disappoints. Its food is subtly spiced and the chefs are truly talented and creative. Excellent, unobtrusive service as well.
Good but too expensive for one
The main dishes are well priced for the quality, but items like water , the nice raw veggies that arrive without being orderedand Indian breads, too big for one, jack up the price. A £75 bill for one person having a first course and a single main course with one glass of beer (no coffee or desert) is excessive.
We went here for a work's team lunch. Excellent food, somewhat different from your run-of-the-mill indian restaurants, but very good. Lamb's brain had to be tried and was surprisingly good. beware the selection of Kofti fro desert though, i'ts enough ice-lollies to feed a family!
So much nicer when on company expenses, as otherwise the price would have been a bit too high, averaging around £75 a head.
