A fabulous place to have breakfast or brunch. I took my mum there as a treat, having been a few times before. Service is always excellent, and food is tasty and filling.
We came here for a birthday meal for two. Service was excellent and not "in your face". Food was delicious - we had chicken salad and soup respectively for starter and we both had the lemon sole for mains. Lots of dessert options. The staff picked up it was a birthday meal without us telling them in the electronic booking or in person, so the Happy Burthday message on the dessert was a lovely touch. Would go back but for special occasions only as it is a liitle expensive (sides are additional). We had a great time!
The Wolseley, is possibly one of the most sophisticated places i've been to. The food is great and the service is excellent. A fantastic place to go for a business lunch.
Breakfast with a touch of class
Had a great breakfast at The Wolseley. Breakfast at the Wolseley is like taking a step back in time, the venue is beautiful art deco, the service is excellent and the waiting staff are dressed to perfection, while the food itself does not dissapoint. Classic breakfast dishes are available and all taste superb.
Beautiful building and décor!
Beautiful building and décor! We had a lovely evening, great dining and a very attentive waiter!
Thoroughly enjoyable! Can't wait to go again!
Elegant and Old School
Not a hugely innovative menu, in fact charmingly old-fashioned. Impeccable service--friendly and not stiff. Stunning, bustling room. Outstanding quality and very reliable. Just lovely.
It was a birthday celebration, the reviews had been good, and so we booked. We arrived 20 minutes early but the table was free. The service was swift, and the food delicious. There was a real hum and buzz about the place. It's not cheap, but it's good.
We chose this spot for a birthday brunch and it was just wonderful as always. Amazing interior, wonderful fresh food and great service. They even gave us a little macaroon birthday cake for free, which was a lovely touch to celebrate my friend's birthday. Will be going back!
Must try for breakfast
The Wolseley is well recommended by many publications "top 10" lists. It is also always full, with reservations required even for the 8am tables. Service was excellent, as you would expect it. They go the extra mile to ensure you leave with a memorable dining experience. In fact, the waiter noticed that my wife was pregnant and took the initiative to offer her some cushions to support her back.
To be honest, the food/breakfast is so-so. No better than any other more moderately priced breakfast joints. Definitely not the best in London. Still, a must try... so that you can at least tick it off the breakfast bucket list.
Would return on occasions to entertain business associates, or family/friends visiting London.
wonderful atmospher & great service
The whole experience from entering the restaurant to leaving was excellent, the waiters were attentive and very polite, the décor is wonderful.
Still as good as ever.
We hadn't been to the Wolseley for quite a while but nothing has changed, thank goodness! The greeting is friendly and welcoming without being over the top.The table service is exemplary and the food as good as you can get.Wine prices are reasonable. We dined on a Friday so I could avail myself of the fish stew, delicious, after an excellent starter of globe artichoke. My wife's goat cheese salad followed by scallops was equally as delicious. If I had one comment to make it would be that the crumble would be even better,in my opinion,if you could have custard rather than ice cream. We look forward to returning to the Wolseley.
We arrived at 11:30am as brunch was finishing yet they advised the kitchen so we could still have this. Then their computer systems failed but they were very attentive and ensured the meal ran smoothly. Definitely go back.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Wolseley. This is a very special, glamorous venue. Staff uniformly welcoming. Food very good indeed. Loved it, and will return.
Good food Good value
The only reason you go to a restaurant is to eat good food and expect good service. The Wolseley delivers all the time on the two.
Second time here and as good as first and good buzzy ambiance but don't expect to talk confidentially table are very close but will come again for sure
Lovely business meal
I took clients for breakfast and had a lovely meal. I can highly recommend the pototo rosti with a side order of crispy bacon!
This is my location of choice for all breakfast meetings.
The Wonderful Wolseley
How could anyone dislike this restaurant. A beautiful interior a fantastic atmosphere with staff who appear to really want to make the experience a great one. I went for lunch this time and I am amazed that the chefs can produce such high quality food over so many covers. I won't comment on the dishes other than to say that I loved every morsel.... as did my guest. But you know what? It would have to have been a pretty poor show to have ruined the day because this place is as much about the theatre as the food and the Wolseley does both brilliantly.
Had a really lovely breakfast here on Saturday morning, I had a bacon roll and scrambled eggs - both lovely. Crispy bacon, soft roll, while the scrambled eggs were just how I like them.
The wife had eggs Arlington, which had a generous portion of salmon - she loved it.
Also has coffees and juices which were nice.
We could not have asked for a more perfect evening. We were warmly welcomed at the reception desk, service was prompt and good-humoured, the food was outstanding in every way, and the room is impressive to behold.
Lovely place to eat
A friend recommended the Wolseley and when we were next in London we tried it, there is a man on the door so it looked quite "posh" but there is a nice welcome once inside the food is delicious and there is a lot of choice. My only gripe is the tables are a little too close together and you feel the next table can hear all your conversation.
A must eat
I was recommended to visit The Wolseley by a friend and I was not disappointed. I went alone and ordered a chicken sandwich which was the best sandwich I've ever tasted. I finished it with some tea and scones with clotted creme and jam (definitely try that). I look forward to going back with some friends for afternoon tea.
Good as always - effective
Good as always - effective booking system, 2.1/2 hour slot, discreetly managed. quiet table as requested. Best thing is that you can take a mixed party and they can eat differently - brunch, tea, dinner. Portion size much better than usual - order the ful size salt beef sandwich at your own risk! Consistent and reliable and buzzy
A grand setting with probably
A grand setting with probably the best service in London.
We both had a great brunch at The Wolseley. The service was welcoming and fantastic as soon as we walked inside and combined with the beautiful interior and tasty food it left us both feeling wonderful.
I had a great brunch business
I had a great brunch business meeting. It was very conducive for work and a deal was done.
Great as usual
I had the delicious schnizel which came with a mouth-watering jus. I ordered it with cream spinach, sliced cucumbers in vinaigrette and austrian potatoes which made for a perfect combination. My boyfriend had the chicken with diced potatoes and enjoyed his too very much. For dessert I had the blackberry crumble which was possibly the best crumble ever (I'm a dessert fanatic and that is one of my favourites so I've tried a lot!). As usual lovely ambience and attentive service. I love restaurants with a beautiful interior as it adds to the whole experience. I really recommend it for a romantic dinner before heading out after and also the Sunday lunch roast is perfection. I must try their breakfast next!!!
Met here for a business meeting. Possible to have a healthy but filling breakfast with exquisite tea at a really reasonable price. I will definitely re-visit.
Great Place For Business
I took Clients to lunch here and we had an enjoyable meal
Excellent as Always
Good food and excellent, quick service. The Wolseley provides a good reliable, effecient service in the heart of Mayfair.
The Wolseley is a stalwart
The Wolseley is a stalwart for a reason. Lovely dining room and buzz, good food, good service and fairly reasonably priced. Good for whatever meal you fancy. Can sometimes be difficult to get a booking.
We really enjoyed our brunch here, it is not often that breakfast feels like a real treat. The coffee was divine, clementine juice was incredibly fresh and the arnold bennett omelette was a classic. It is pricey but you pay for the experience.
I was in and out in 40 minutes but had a great full English breakfast. Very tasty. The room was more informal than I was expecting, but very buzzy
Friday evening dinner
Outstanding food, every course was faultless. Pricy but you get what you pay for and at the end of the day it is Mayfair. Service also excellent. Great atmosphere and ambience.
Great place to go for breakfast,
Great place to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Really helpful staff and a good, buzzy atmosphere.
Extremly friendly service
Extremly friendly service - although we came earlier than planned they organised a table. And it was really busy then.
A lovely afternoon.
An afternoon visit for a change, I usually visit for breakfast on Sundays. We went for an old favourite of Welsh Rarebit. As always the service was perfect and friendly, never intrusive. The food always as promised and really hit the spot. I always enjoy going to the Wolseley, it's never stuffy, the staff are efficient and charming and I like the non fussy food.
nice food, quick service
wolseley was nice looking, the food and drinks good and service amazingly quick. So quick it feels a bit fast food like. Would recommend to try but probably won't be going back myself
Post theatre treat
Great for lunch. Excels at late post theatre dining - great staff, charming and attentive. We finished at 1am, were the last to leave after a lovely meal and at no time were we made to feel an imposition or hurried along. Lovely food and a great way to end an evening.
Vibrant ambience, great food
The Wolsley is a fabulous restaurant. The room is the former, grand, two storey headquarters of Wolsley motor cars and is bedecked in marble, stone, brass and chandeliers. Sounds tacky buts it's not. It works! It accommodates a large number of diners and yet is not too loud - just buzzes with excitement! Waiters wearing black waistcoats and crisp white linen aprons criss cross the dinning room, efficiently delivering dishes with a smile. The cuisine is modern British/European, siimply presented and featuring beautiful flavours from fresh ingredients prepared with skilled hands and a light touch. My wife & I have been to the Wolsley many times for Brunch and never dinner experience. During the day the Wolsley is great, at night it sparkles!
The Wolseley still has the wow factor. The dining room is theatrical, the food and service were both excellent. The atmosphere was very buzzy. A night to remember
needed a pre theatre venue - menu limited because of time of day when they were transitioning from afternoon tea to dinner menu but cafe menu had enough choice. Staff attentive and friendly. Good bistro ambience. Food (steak) cooked to perfection; wine list good value for London. Busy restaurant and lots of buzz so not recommended for a romantic meal out but otherwise unhesitatingly recommend it and will return
Right from arrival the staff were efficient and friendly. The food arrived promptly and was extremely tasty. Overall the experience in the Wolseley was excellent. I couldn't recommend highly enough as a venue for romantic lunch or dinner.
Trip back into the glamorous era
Excellent interiour, location, great service and decent food. Truly special place.
Had a lovely late meal on Saturday night. Was perfect portions of delicious food with wonderfully attentive staff
Nice start to the day
Went for brunch to start a day's shopping in London. It has wonderful architecture and is lively. Good menu with plenty of choice to cover all tastes.
Early supper treat
A lovely meal at the Wolsley again. A delicious Arnold Bennett omelette accompanied with some fries, simple yet delicious. The service was excellent and the surroundings just fabulous. Can't wait to go back
A very grandiose and relaxing venue to have breakfast.
Good Value considering
The Wolseley is one of my favourite places to go to. Whether its just for a drink, breakfast, business lunch, tea or dinner.
It's one of those places that oozes an old elegance that many places don't seem to have any more.
You are presented with silver cutlery, linen napkins and beautiful porcelain crockery.
The food is of generous portions, but not too large where you feel overly stuffed. The attention to detail is immaculate from every aspect. The staff are attentive, not annoying, always happy and polite.
The prices are not unreasonable either. 3 courses with wine will probably amount to approx £50/£60 a head.
The best breakfast
As always breakfast at The Wolseley makes a great start to the day. The buzzy atmosphere and simple yet tasty food make it a very nice little treat!
Always a treat!
Each time I come to London, I love dining at the Wolseley: the beautiful surroundings, the lovely menu, and the kind service. This time, I actually ran into a neighbor from New York, and saw the actor Ian McShane. All pluses in my book!
