I think they were a little overwhelmed by the number of diners for Sunday lunch and we had to wait so long for our food that we actually left without ordering dessert or coffee. However, the service is normally much better and the food is always good.
Tony 26th Dec
We were looking for a good meal in pleasent surroundings with good service for Boxing Day - all the boxes were ticked.
An evening with friends...
We had a lovely meal sitting near the fireplace (full of candles) and were well looked after. Nice surroundings and tasty food. We are lucky to have somewhere so nice close to where we all live.....a gentle walk home after a feast!
Delicious gasrtopup grub with some fun valentines cocktails!
Good location with parking.
Good location with parking. Service was a bit slow when we were there. Good food and would be better if the price is lower than what it is.
gastro pub no47
As this is one of our local pubs we do eat here quite regularly. The new spring menu is definitely an improvement on the Winter menu. Service was reasonable but I suspect if it had been busier it would have been rather slow as not really enough staff for a Saturday night. Portion sizes are good.
Nice place for a drink/food
Haven't been here for quite a while so wasn't sure what to expect. It was a Friday evening so quite lively but they had our booking and we were seated straight away. Sadly our table was right next to the back door and there was a constant stream of traffic going outside to have a cigarette. So not only did we get a cold blast every few seconds we also got wafts of cigarette smoke - not nice when you are eating.
Apart from that there was a good atmosphere in the place, the service was great and the food was lovely. Good choice on the menu. Pretty good value for money too.
Been here on more than one occasion and as per usual, the food is excellent and staff friendly.
Good quality food, excellent servic
A good time to go, if possible is during the week late afternoon, where the atmosphere is calm and quiet, as it can get busy. The seasonal menus are interesting, not your usual pub food. Lovely steaks and fish. The garden makes a nice drinking area if the weather is appropriate, or you could have a meal sitting at the front of the pub overlooking the Thames. The service is usually excellent, although on very busy days there has been an occasional delay as the kitchen is busy, but I would rather wait a little while longer than to receive a rushed meal. If you do not want to eat a whole meal, they have a lovely selection of sharers, I recommend the Mexican platter. Recommended to anyone who lives in or around Hampton.

This is a gastro-pub rather than a straight forward restaurant. They allow dogs in - excellent!
Good people good food and good prices! Enjoy this place often.
Great food and live music
There arent many places you can listen to live music on a saturday night anymore. The Bell have got it about right. Great atmosphere and good pub grub. We enjoyed our first visit.
Not a big choice of meals,
Not a big choice of meals, but it was Sunday evening...
eating at the bell
We went to The Bell for an anniversary meal. The food was good. The only thing that spoilt the experience a bit was that the service was quite slow.
Good food, good portion, good ales. Nice service. What else we need? The food is just simply amazing! We absolutely love it!!
Lunch with old friends
Had visited the Bell Inn before when we bought our TasteCard and was reminded of it seeing their advert in the Hampton magazine as a good venue for having a meal with visiting old friends. Food was good and tasty and the service was friendly and unhurried, but not too long a gap between courses. Have to confess that I was apprehensive as after making the booking I looked at some of the other feedback and it seemed to suggest that the service and standard of food had gone down but I have to say this was not our experience.
A pub with good food
The Bell Inn is a very pleasant pub not quite on the Thames in Hampton, just along the river from Hampton Court. The food was well-prepared (and not obviously pre-prepared). Service was casual but not sloppy.
Good beer garden in back although shared with the parking. Accessable by bus from Richmond. Also by ferry.
Not quite a gastro-pub just a pub with good pub food.

We are a local family who have dined here twice. Each time we have loved the vibe of the pub and the excellent service - helpful, quick and unobtrusive. The food is good quality and well presented - excellent bistro standard.
Imaginative menu, great choice
We came for lunch on Saturday with our children. Everything we chose was delicious, especially the slow cooked beef which was outstanding. The kids both enjoyed their meals and service was attentive. A great place that had obviously benefitted from its change in management.
Lovely time at the Bell Inn
The Bell Inn is a lovely pub on the river - great (Sunday lunch) food and buzzy atmosphere. Our waitress was absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Very child friendly as well. Will be back.
My wife and I have eaten here
My wife and I have eaten here on a number of occasions. The food has always been good , likewise the service. We will return again.
