Food for Foodies
Went to Friends with my wife and had a great experience, shown to the table by the owner who spent time to explain the wines and ended up choosing the English white which was great (nice to see English restaurants stocking English wines). The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. This restaurant is all about the food and drink, what a good restaurant is all about, the service is also of the best quality.
fantastic as always
Great food, service, ambience - we've been back so many times and Friends restaurant never fails to delight
Great food, great service. Not cheap, but fantastic for special occasions.
Gem in the village
Lived in Pinner for 4 years but never ventured in till last Saturday evening. It's one of those places so easy to miss, it just merges in to the village. Stunning Grade 1 listed building dating back 400 years. Low ceilings so do beware. Service was friendly and reasonable but not outstanding. Wine list average. Small menu but fabulous dishes. We had a haddock fishcake with poached egg and hollandaise - 9/10 simply beautiful in its simplicity. Mushroom soup was delicious with truffle oil a nice touch. Portions of grilled seabass were large as maincourse and not too well presented but tasted wonderful. Well cooked. Passion fruit creme brûlée was ok, and rhubarb pannacota beautifully presented but a little tasteless. Washed down with the sanc
Wonderful food, great service, made even better with the toptable discount. We will be back.
Still the best restaurant in Pinner
Excellent food & professional service at a reasonable price. Still the best restaurant in Pinner by far.

We went to Friends for an evening meal. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food is of very high standard. We would definitely book again.
We had the set lunch menu
We had the set lunch menu which is superb value with the Toptable discount. The food was beautifully cooked and presented with an unusual and imaginative menu to choose from. The service was friendly and very professional.
This is a lovely, relaxing restaurant which I would highly recommend.
Lovely little restaurant
Discovered this restaurant just when searching for something close to Pinner station, it was the first one that came up and the reviews seemed very positive so decided to give it a go. Went for a romantic meal with my other half for our anniversary, food was very tasty, great service, lovely wines. The set price menu was pretty good value, especially as I had the lobster option, which usually would be prohibitively expensive, for only a £5 supplement. Lovely place, good atmosphere.. the only negative I'd point out was the air con where we were sat (upstairs by the window) - it was pointed right at our faces and apparently there's no control for the settings, only on full or switched off
Excellent, as usual
What else is there to say? Food and service were both excellent, as they have been on every occasion I've visited this restaurant in the last twenty years.
Amazing food and service
Had an amazing meal on Friday night at Friends to celebrate our Anniversary. Great choice on menus and we thought very reasonable prices considering the high standard of food served. The service is excellent professional, friendly but not hovering around you every 10 minutes either! The meal is not rushed and there was just the right amount of time left between courses. Will go again soon and would recommend without hesitation. ,
Set in heart of Pinner village this restauarnt did live up to its name, friendly atmosphere, excellent food and overall for quality of food it wasn't too dear at £86/couple inc drinks.
A very pleasant evening
We had a very pleasant evening at Friends Restaurant. The set menu was extensive with many delicious choices! There were no specials supplements to extra pay for, which was good. The seafood starters were excellent, but the pigeon needed more jus to give it more moisture. The main courses were really superb and the desserts were to die for - we could have eaten them all! The service was excellent, friendly and just right. The music could have been more subtle, as I found pop music not appropriate to the setting. However, thank you for a lovely evening! We will certainly return for another special occasion!
Thanks for a lovely meal!
Despite a slight mix up with one order, the staff at Friends made the whole experience a very pleasant and welcoming one. The food, staff and ambiance were all excellent. Friends makes a refreshing change from all of the chain restaurants that appear to be taking over Pinner. I look forward to going again.
A good lunch at Friends, Pinner
Friends was a cool and tranquil escape from the hot weather, nicely air conditioned with good, crisp service. I had the set price menu which offers a good choice and with the TT discount was really good value. My friend opted for the menu of the day which was even less expensive. We both enjoyed the food. My starter and main were fish and they were fresh and presented just right. My only criticism is that I thought the jug of water, soft drinks and glass of white wine should all have been served a bit colder, especially on such a hot day but that is a minor point. I will return with my wife for dinner some evening before too long.
The evening was hot and humid--- the restaurant cool and refreshing; a pleasure to walk in.
Welcome friendly and table well situated.
Attentive service, genuine and friendly.
Thoroughly enjoyable evening.
lovely food & very good service-
lovely food & very good service- very enjoyable evening
Excellent celebratory meal
We had a very special group celebratory dinner at Friends last month. The food was excellent, the atmosphere relaxed and friendly, and the staff polite and efficient. Although certainly not cheap, it is good value when compared to cooking of a similar standard in central London and other North London suburbs. Very much recommended.
EVERYONE NEEDS GOOD 'FRIENDS'
Friends has to be the star of Pinner's restaurants. It's perfect for a special night out or if your husband wants to treat you and get you out of the kitchen for a change! The interior is cosy and intimate and the welcome is warm. We started with a little mushroom soup appetiser which was gorgeous. My husband hates mushrooms, so I had his too. Result! My vichyssoise was delicious and himself was very pleased with his prawns. Our grilled sirloin was cooked to perfection and the accompanying vegetables were beautifully cooked. Unfortunately, we didn't have room for a pudding, but the creme brulee on the next table looked good. Great wine list. We decided to try a Spanish white which didn't disappoint.
I have eaten here before and this visit was just like the other visits. Fantastic food, plenty of choices, good portion sizes & amazing desserts. Highly recommended!!
First-rate, as ever
On this occasion my sister and I visited the restaurant for lunch (not for the first time, I may add - or the last!). The ham hock croquette was a superb example of its kind - ham in bechamel sauce, held together only by the crispy coating on the outside. I had the slow-cooked rabbit, which was delicious: so was my sister's fillet of trout (I can state this with absolute certainty: I tried it).
My sister gave up after the main course, but I tried the terrine of summber pudding, which was excellent (and a very good way of serving a somewhat intractable dessert).
Just as good as ever.
This was our third visit to Friends and we yet again enjoyed it. The food is delicious and the service prompt. I would definitely return again.
Food and service always excellent.
Food and service always excellent. Set lunch is very good value.
Friends - wonderful!
Wonderfully quaint restaurant, superb food, excellent service. Makes special occasions memorable.
Fantastic as ever with new
Fantastic as ever with new items constantly being added to the menu means we never get bored eating there
Excellent as always
Consistently good food and friendly service are the hallmarks of Friends. Highly recommended.
Good Food, Great Service
We (my wife and I) went there mid week (Tuesday), place was busy, but not packed. Service with a smile, always happy to help... with a 12.5% service charge added to your bill you would not expect anything less. Menu is not massive, but what they cook is really well presented and tastes great. Ideal for a nice dinner out. Price wise, it is not cheap, but neither is it over expensive (two 2 courses and a bottle of wine £80ish)
We had a great time and the food was just amazing. Great value for money and a very interesting wine list.
Can't wait until we go again.
Food that doesn't disappoint
A lovely, friendly, homely restaurant with stunning food both in presentation and taste. Beautifully cooked food and fantastic service makes this understated restaurant a great place to visit
went for lunch for wedding
went for lunch for wedding anniversary, my food was exceptional, especially my starter- fish cake with quails egg, my main of crispy duck was just as it said and a lot of meat, and a summer pudding terrine was mouth-watering. My husband choices were not as good as mine but still with excellent service and menu would definitely return
We have used Friends many time previously and this occasion was to celebrate a 'significant birthday of an old friend. 5 of us had the 'Weekly special Sunday lunch ' which included a glasses of wine which was sufficient since we had 2 drivers on the party . Excellent food & service; good ambiance. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the visitors are keen to return next time they visit Pinner.
Great meal, friendly efficient staff good place to enjoy meal with fiends and family
Great local restaurant. The
Great local restaurant. The menus are well put together and a good choice of ala carte or set menus (that still have amazing choice. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Terry, the owner makes everyone feel very welcome and he is very knowlegeable about food. Service is good and not intrusive.
Ticks all boxed
Brilliant wine recommendation
Went for an early supper with our teenage son, excellent service and fab food. We had a very lovely evening.
Still good after all these years
I was rather tempted to find one of my previous reviews, and copy and paste it: I'm running out of ways to say this: The food was excellent, the service intelligent, friendly and helpful, and it's an attractive place.
1st visit to Friends in Pinner and it won't be my last. I managed to get a reservation for Saturday night at short notice online- someone must have cancelled as it was booked earlier in the day. Very friendly staff, good service and fantastic food. Far exceeds the other restaurants in Pinner- I've lived in the area for over 20 years and have been to them all now!
Another mouthwatering experience
Not just a three course meal. There were little surprises too. A super little taster of pea soup to start with. I didn't think I liked pea soup. How wrong can you be. The smoked haddock fish cake with a poached egg on top was light and gorgeous. Not a hint of a moan from any of our group of nine. Sufficient choices on the menu to cause me a problem with what to have. The passion fruit crème brulee is a must for dessert. An extremely palateable English white wine on offer. That's a pleasanr surprise. Ambience very friendly. Surroundings oldie worldy but very comfortable. Have been previously for a business meeting and this time for a special birthday. Excellent evening.
Best restaurant in the area. No wonder that people come from far and wide.
interesting and varied menu, very hard to make a choice. All 8 diners were impressed with their choices, and all 8 had dessert, even though they don't usually. Memorable meal, and excellent service.
A fantastic experience
We dined here on Friday night and the whole experience was spectacular. Impeccable service, divine food and a really warm atmosphere. This is the third time we have been to Friends and everytime we leave feeling very privileged to have had such lovely food and wine. We would especially recommend the haggis cake and the partridge, phenomenal. Thank you
Friends at Friends
Friends is a great name for this restaurant as it sums up the overall dining experience. It's great place to meet Friends and Family for a special meal.
The service was friendly, there's plenty of choice on the wine list and the food was excellent. Clean plates all round was testament to that.
The menu is kept fresh as well with seasonal dishes around firm favourites. The Bread and Butter Pudding for dessert is highly recommended.
Decided to treat a friend for her birthday but wanted vegetarian options as well. Although the veggie options were a little limited on the existing menus, the chef patron was very happy to prepare other dishes and came up with some wonderful options. In addition to this excellent service, the quality and presentation of the food was quite impressive. Given we were celebrating, we ate of the a la carte menu (around £35 pp - food only) but there was also a very reasonable dinner menu on offer at £20 per person. It had been a while since I had visited the restaurant and was hoping it would be as good as my previous visit - it did not disappoint! L
once again another great night
once again another great night out in our favourite local restaurant,
Second time we have been to this restaurant, this time for my husbands birthday. Good choice of food. Three different price brackets (3 course £20) or (3 course £33.00) or a choice from the grill. Lovely atmosphere, fab service. Good choice of
wine. Will definitely be back.
We had a very enjoyable evening
We had a very enjoyable evening at Friends. We were greeted as we arrived and shown to our table. the Ambience is Traditional and cosy as the restaurant is in one of the oldest buildings in Pinner High Street. The whole meal was excellent food and service.

charming surrounding. very good food and service.. overall a lovely night!
Great intimate restaurant right at my doorstep.... Polite attentive service accompanied by high quality cooking....excellent value....
21 years open
My favourite place to dine ever. Food and staff never disappoint. Portions are a perfect size so as to satisfy perfectly without the need to over eat. Staff are the most friendly and attentive every time. I've eaten here many times and will do in the future. I have never had anything but compliments to give the staff, and all the diners I have ever sat near have always been equally as pleased. If you dine here you'll definitely look forward to going back.
Excellent dining at Friends
The standards at Friends Restaurant just get even better. It is, quite simply, the best restaurant in the area for a top-quality dining experience, from a varied and enticing menu, in a cosy atmospheric setting (with wooden beams all around), and to be served by discerning and knowledgeable staff who really care and admirably handle special diets to be catered for and any other requests. Will be back soon!
