We took some friends to Trishna as we had been raving about it to them - the meal did nt disappoint. We made the point of booking for 6:00pm to take advantage of their excellent 4 course tasting menu with wine flight for £35 which is outstanding value. Each course was delicious, fresh with delicately balance flavours. Paired wines were interesting addition and we looked forward to seeing what came next with every course. I only wish it were possible to have this menu any time!!!
This was my third visit to Trishna and I have to say it was even better than I remembered. The food was imaginative, beautifully presented and tasted fantastic.. The service was attentive and very good. I would strongly recommend this place.
Dinner at Trishna
Excellent service in a relaxed atmosphere; tandoori guinea fowl was very good indeed; however seafood biriani was a bit dry and bland. The chaats for appetisers were excellent, as was the daal.
However I will go back and would recommend to friends; I would avoid the seafood biriani in the future.
The only disappointment was the cost of the wines- poor value for money.
Best Indian food ever
What a restaurant. The food is beautiful - best Indian food I have ever tasted. Waiter very attentive and informative. There were only 2 others in the restaurant at the time and it might be rather noisy if thee were more. However they also have another room, which would ameliorate this.
We thhink the best Indian restaurant in London, their petits plats are not so petits but all, and we tried 10 over two visits, outstanding.
Charming service too.
Delicious food..beautifully spiced and aromatic.
A great find.
Trishna of London
Excellent food and great service, definitely worth a visit
Outstanding food, a bit noisy
Once again, we had the tasting menu with wines. You cannot fault the food it is wonderful and they will allow you to choose alternatives if you are not into, say, fish. It is noisy with a few people around; e acoustics are to that good. All in all a great experience that comes with a pretty great price.
Great restuarant - try it
We visited Trishna expecting a good traditional Indian restauarant but this place is different - a modern slant on Indian food with lots of unusual dishes - would really recommend as a place to meet friends after work. Great atmosphere too.
Great Tasting Menu
Fantastic option when there are a few of you. We were 7 and the tasting menu with matched wines was a great option. Am going again in a week or two's time.
Simple but nice
Booked this for our Anniversary, it was a nice and simple restaurant with a great level of service. We went on for the 4 course offer, which in comparison to other restaurants in the league was slightly disappointed in the quantity we received. The mocktail was ok. We had a good table , but as it was slightly warm during the day the front section was opened up, which let in a slight breeze by the time we were having our mains. However, the quality was outstanding, and we did overall have a wonderful meal, which was topped up with a wonderful complimentary desert for our special occasion.
Where every bite is outstanding
Every dish I've tried at Trishna - from the complimentary poppadom basket with chutney when we sat down to the fish fry (OUT OF THIS WORLD!) to the aubergine chat - is about as complexly yet delicately seasoned as I ever imagined Indian cuisine could be. There's not a single boring dish on the menu - you simply can't go wrong here.
Just as good as ever
Have eaten here a number of times, but this was the first since Trishna was awarded a Michelin Star. I booked the usual Toptable offer - tasting menu + wine for about £50.
The food is just as delicious as it has always been, delicate authentic flavours, perfectly cooked ingredients. They have upped the quality of the service in line with people's expectations of a "Michelin" restaurant. Place was full early Tuesday eve.
So far, so good. I have noticed some new set menus, the prices of which are pushing the quite expensive side (£70+). I also notice that the times you can book the toptable offer is now further restricted. I do hope they don't get rid of the toptable offer as it really remains an absolute bargain and well worth it.
Trishna triumphs again
Trishna is the BEST. Went there for lunch, and the friend whom I took was amazed at the quality of the food. I love this restaurant - long may it prosper!!
good but not as good as before
nuce food well presented but the overall food quality wasnt up to the same standard as last time - and not as good value either - will try again though
small but very accurate menu
small but very accurate menu at Trishna. Very good Indian meal in a great location - good value for money for whoever appreciate Indian food done in a more sophisticated way.
Tasting menu at Trishna's
My husband and I went to Trishnas last week for our wedding anniversary. we had the 5 course tasting menu. The sea bass was the best I've ever tasted and the mango desert was lovely. My husband had a rice pudding for desert which I wasn't keen on. The service was excellent. When I mentioned I preferred white wine to red they swapped the tasting wines for me. Some of the food was pretty mediocre, not to the high standards I'd hoped for. All in all it was quite expensive for the quality of food although I would go back and just have sea bass and a bottle of Bandol rose.
Excellent service. I thought
Excellent service. I thought some of the dishes were better than others, but overall a decent experience and reasonable value for money.
Went to Trishna for the first time after a friend recommended it. It was great!! Food, tasty, delicate and generous! Friendly service and very reasonable priced!! Will definitely come back!!
Such a good restaurant and such good choices on the extremely reasonably priced menu - together with (for the West End) an extremely reasonably priced wine-list also. We do not normally go for Indian or Chinese meals in London but cheerfully make an exception for this restaurant - now having been three times...
Great food and great service at Trishna London, well worth a visit
Affordable 1* Michelin meal
went for the 5 course signature Trishna menu and it was among the best Indian food I have ever eaten.
Dedicated service, nice atmosphere.
Can recommend without hesitation
Another outstanding meal here at Trishna. Never disappoints - we have recommended this place to several friends and like to introduce them to this fantastic cuisine.
Excellent fixed price lunch value
Truly beautiful flavours and presentation for a fixed price lunch in a pleasing atmosphere.
Will come back again and again
The tasting menu here rocks - nowhere better in this price range.
The first three courses are all inventive and exciting - rare tandoori pigeon breast and the like - real moderne cuisine: beautifully presented, very thoughtful and incredibly tasty...then woomph...the main course comes and it's giant portions of impeccably executed curry house favourites. What a winning combination.
Trishna is the BEST!!!!!!
I love Trishna - such wonderful quality of food. Not cheap, and not for those who can't take spicy food - but truly delicious fare, served with charm.
Great Indian food
Our first visit to Trishna's. We had the TT menu (5 courses + matching wines for £52.50). Everything was beautifully spiced and very well cooked. Service was relaxed but attentive. Portions were just the right size.
Good value michelin star
Trishna offers good value for money, especially in the fixed price menu. We were four of us and went for the 5 course with paired wine at £52 each so £60 per person with tips.
it was really good food but it was a bit spicy. If you're not used to spicy food, worth flagging up to the waiter as the food felt spicy by default. One of the most filling set course menu's I've had in london for that price at a highly rated restaurant.
1st time at Trishna
I'd been looking forward to meal for a while - restaurant came highly recommended by a friend. Generally a good experience. As expected, Trishna provides high quality Indian food with tradition mixed with innovation in the cooking style.
Minor niggles with service; for instance, with the bill come a couple of little "sweets" - one of them had rolled off the plate and onto the waiter's tray; instead of replacing the sweet with a fresh one I was just served the one which was left - a tiny detail which didn't addect my meal (I was full anyway!) but it shows that there is an extra level of care and professionalism which is possible.
I'll still be back!!
We enjoyed our meal at Trishna,
We enjoyed our meal at Trishna, the food was of a very high standard both in terms of quality of ingredients and cooking. Two things I would like to see different - we were given the wine menu but not the food menu and left with this for at least 20 minutes. Secondly, I do not like the habit which many restaurants have of adding a 'discretionary' 12.5% service charge to the bill - it certainly does nothing to improve service.
Excellent pre-theatre menu
Trishna is one of the few Indian restaurants that's managed to snag a Michelin star and it's not hard to see why. The pre-theatre menu provides 4 courses (of 2 choices each) so you get to savour a larger variety of tastes. Be warned, the third (main) course is quite filling.
The only significant downside is the location which is rather far from the Tube and thus made it a bit of a rush (sprint really) to get to our show in the West End on time. Not much to be done about that, of course, unless they could open a half-hour earlier!
This place was a great recommendation from a friend -classy yet unpretentious, we felt as if we were in a family-run establishment and food was top notch. Another plus is that it doesn't offer the plethora of westernized items and is authentic. We enjoyed our dinner (apart from a very loud group of city men behind us) and would definitely go back again.
We loved our experience at Trishna. What a delightful little cafe with wonderful flavors. Everything we had was delicious...we got the five-course tasting menu so we would try several items. The servers were very attentive as well. Highly recommend!
Dined here on 23/08 and had the 5-coursing tasting menu with drinks (on offer now!). This is by far our favourite Indian restaurant and we've been a few times. Food is consistently good. We weren't keen on the scallop tandoori dish, it just doesn't seem to have taken the flavour too well. The rest of the food and wines were fab as always. Service was really good. One sour issue was the female maitre'd(?) and this is the 2nd time she's done this. Shown to a table at the back we asked to sit in the front she said they were reserved for tables of 3 said she'd check but a male maitre'd was confused when we told him she was checking. The only table of 3 arrived at 8.30ish. So she clearly lied, which explains the confused look we got!
Great lunchtime option
We've become regular visitors to Trishna for the interesting and good value lunchtime menu - a definite 'twist' on the usual Indian fare.
Presentation, variety and flavours are all top notch, and as long as you avoid the temptation to order too much(!) it's a very enjoyable meal.
Excellent indian food. The
Excellent indian food. The timing of the service and the meal were good. Good wine list, with some interesting priced choices at a reasonable price. Cozy atmosphere. The fish fry as a starter and the guinea fowl as a main were truly magnificent. Not cheap, but not overpriced either. The Michelin star fully justified.
What an experience!
We had the five course menu. What an experience. The wines were married with each mouthwatering, divinely delicious course and our group of four couldn't get enough - the perfect birthday for the birthday boy and the staff were incredibly helpful and professional. Most restaurants I go to I honestly feel I could create better at home. I say to my friends in London that there is only one restaurant I bother to go out to myself (which is a secret ;) and all the others I honestly do feel I could make better at home but no more! It's a place for special occasions but most definitely worth it.
Our favourite Indian Restaurant in
London and another Sunday lunch with, this time, their tasting menu. Do not go there thinking you'll have this and leave empty. None of us could manage the dessert...Bewilderingly empty but we did arrive late and maybe every other diner had eaten early.
Basically it is as good as
Basically it is as good as ever which is why i have been there over and over in the past 4 years.
This is one of the best modern Asian cuisines i have had the pleasure to experience.
My only critisism is that there should be a larger choice of wines from £20/£25.
The Trishna lunch offers must
The Trishna lunch offers must be some of the best value meals in town. Just a word of caution - the majority of dishes are reasonably spicy so not for the faint-hearted!
I first visited Trishna when they were newly opened quite a few years ago but decided to try them again. With the array of Indian restaurants in the area I had forgotten about how amazing their food still
is. Is have to say this is my favourite Indian restaurant & I can't wait to go back there am very very soon.
Great food, great wine and great service! Many thanks.
Not your average curry
Fantastic food, portions a little on the small side perhaps? The starters / salads make this superb. The more standard style curry dishes are a bit mediocre.
Service and atmosphere a bit staid, goes with the location I guess.
Have been here with young kids/family for lunch, and also for a group business meal. Worked well for both occasions. Also good for a quiet meal.
Recommend the food highly.
As always ...an amazing experience.
As always ...an amazing experience. Love the food....
Finally made it to this restaurant which has been recommended by many of my friends. It's informal but smart. The service is excellent, better than many posher places in the West End. Just reading the menu made me decide to return. Really good choice of interesting dishes. Excellent wine list with some unusually but rewarding selections. All the food brought to the table was really good with a variety of flavours.
Outstanding Indian cusine
I was hoping for something new, and i wasn't disappointed.
My wife and i tried the 5 course menu incl. wine.
Every course was a delight, and the wines was very nicely attuned the each course.
We will be back, next time we are in London.
Gorgeous food! Fab service
Met a friend for Saturday lunch; the service was friendly and attentive, the food was sublime. We had the tasting menu and each course tasted fabulous especially the Aloo Chat (I want that recipe). The premises are really great too. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant
First experience of a Michelin starred indian restaurant and well worth the visit. Felt really weird having posh wine with each dish but they perfectly matched the food we had ordered. I would say the only down side was that the main course did not quite live up to expectations considering how delicious the first 3 courses were (the guinea fowl tikka was particularly good). Would definitely visit for a special occasion again.
The lunch time set menus must
The lunch time set menus must surely be one of the best value offers in town. Outstanding quality and presentation, but be warned that most dishes are at least moderately spicy.
More upmarket than the Mumbai original and less focus on seafood, but one of the best curries I have ever had. Spectacular flavours.
