We ate here on Tuesday after going to an Afternoon Mattinee Theatre Shown. We had an excellent food and were advised by the sommelier for a really nice bottle of wine . When we came to pay, I asked the waitress if Theo Randal was actually cooking that night. She pointed him out in the large glass fronted kitchen ,he looked up and saw she was pointing him out, he came out of the kitchen and came over o our table , we chatted for a while and he was positively charming , and even recommended other restaurants ! Thank you Theo for making our evening really special.
We had lunch on the Top Table
We had lunch on the Top Table deal which had a good selection of dishes to choose from. The food presentation was marvellous and each dish tasted as good as it looked. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. The only slight disappointment was lack of atmosphere due to hardly anyone being in the restaurant at lunchtime (hence the deal, I guess) but as I was there to catch up with an old friend it didn't matter to us as it meant we could hear ourselves speak! Would definitely recommend Theo Randall despite this.
We were lucky enough to come across a set-menu offer on toptable and it did not disappoint. There were several excellent choices available and we enjoyed a delicious dinner with great service. The attendants were pleasant, attentive and the level of service was as expected. My biggest delight of the evening, however, is that the portions were adult size - no nouvelle cuisine here thankfully!
I will definitely be back...
great food and value for money
excellent food and service and great value for money
Having been a fan of Theo's for many years it was a joy to finally visit. The meal wasn't planned but we found availability on the Top Table app and seized our chance. From the pre dinner drinks to the extravagant cheese course I was captivated and having been very luck and eaten at some very good establishments this now is in my top 3. A must return to sample more of this beautiful Italian cuisine. Also Theo took time to see us at our table and talk about dinner which was lovely. A real treat to see a Chef with his name over the door that is actually stood at the pass!
The offer of 3 courses for £33 including a glass of prosecco was outstanding. The food was delicious - I would say sophisticated but unpretentious, rustic so perfectly comforting on a cold rainy evening. The servings were much bigger than expected, which is not something I can ever remember experiencing in a nice restaurant particularly with a deal ! The warm orange and honey cakes with baked pears and crème fraîche was one of the best puddings I have ever tasted and we have eaten at many Michelin Star restaurants in the past. The service was faultless. The ambience was fine, but because it is in a hotel there was a couple nearby with a baby and there seemed to be a lot of business people there including a party in a nearby area.
Lunch with Theo
If you enjoy Italian food of the highest quality this is the restaurant to be. The lunch was not rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy the great flavours of Italy. The staff were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable and it was a great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We will be returning and hope to meet Theo again who is a very friendly chef.
Excellent Set Dinner
Went on a Saturday evening for the set dinner. This is a great deal from toptable and would be highly recommended. The service was attentive, and the food was excellent. The restaurant has a nice open-plan layout and a spacious feel. Would return.
Great food, wonderful staff.
The food is delicious, the wine list has something for everyone and the staff are wonderful. This remark comes from a couple who never (almost never) choose an Italian restaurant for dinner. That said, we never miss a chance to eat at Theo Randall when we are in London.
Refined setting for rustic Italian
Booked the special offer of 2 courses and a glass of prosecco for £27, as I've loved every recipe I've cooked from Theo's book Pasta.
I had beef fillet and tomato sauce with pappardelle to start and it was divine - simple flavours and great texture. My salmon main course was beautifully cooked, but I felt the vegetables could have been seasoned a little more. My friend opted for the seafood risotto which was apparently lovely, but she ordered the guinea fowl for her main course and it was an incredibly filling dish (the meat is very dense), so she was disappointed she couldn't finish it. All in all though, a very nice meal and excellent service. Decor however could do with being a little less formal to reflect the rustic food though.
An old friend
I don't come to London often but having a free evening I booked for dinner at Theo Randall. The meal did not disappoint. Puree in ravioli was beautiful. The pasta was smooth but with bite. Calves liver with spinach, bacon, borlotti beans combined flavours well. Warm almond tart with plums a perfect finish. One waiter was over enthusiastic a d needs to be told not to ask diners how their food is before they have taken a mouthful! Waiting staff generally are efficient, unobtrusive and effective
We had great service, experienced very knowledgable waitress / waiters who helped us choose something from the very extensive and very yummy looking menu options. Food was fantastic. Met Theo, great guy with lots of personality. Overall great night out. Will go back.
Excellent all-round like last time
Food was great and very enjoyable experience once again, like many of my friends have said. Hard to beat for this price range.
We are always surprised that Theo Randall isn't booked out months in advance when you take into account his pricing and the quality of the food. A real find, and I am coming back this evening.
Still one of the best in London!
We have been to Theo's restaurants many times for dinner and have enjoyed the ambience tremendously. This was our first lunch visit and we were not disappointed. The food was, as always, exceptional. Some of the secondi portions are large so if you are having planning to have two or three courses bear this in mind.
Staff are friendly and even told us when large parties were arriving so that we would not have to wait for our food. One of Theo's stars is his sommelier who really shares his passion and his knowledge about Italian wine. He certainly helped make it a long and relaxing lunch.
I've always enjoyed my various
I've always enjoyed my various visits to Theo Randall, and have gone at least annually since they opened. This last meal was the finest experience ever and I cannot praise the establishment more highly. A group of 6, including friends from Spain, Italy, Australia and France and a central London 'foodie' were all 'wowed' and impressed. The top table menu is exceptional value and offers much more flexibility and variety than most other menu de jour's of a similar type, and the food was simply outstanding across the board. Add to this the option to purchase two glasses of wine (white and red) for a £10 supplement this place really must have found a winning formula. The wines were great, and the evening a total success. Thank you.
Overall a very pleasant experience.
Overall a very pleasant experience. Good food (right portion) and excellent service. Theo came and spoke to us which was a surprising delight! Thank you. Would definitely go again.
Another excellent night at Theo Randall's. The food is always outstanding, the staff are charming. You are never hurried, the top table offer is available at any time even on a Saturday evening.
Another excellent meal at
Another excellent meal at Theo Randall with half our party on the top table deal and the others a la carte. I think we on the tt menu did better! The service needs to improve as far as the wine is concerned - they needed chasing up.
"I love the relaxed feel of
"I love the relaxed feel of this place - I would love return again to try some different dishes. The See Bass and the rack of Lamb were amazing and the staff and service were outstanding very attentive and helpful. Theo was there which was nice to see. Very relaxing was not rushed at all and the wine was lovely.
Perfect Italian in London
Third time we've eaten at Theo Randall and we can't wait to go back. The food tastes of Italy. The tomatoes are
Like eating sunshine. We took friends who had not been before and they have already booked to return. The bruschetta is so perfect that a drink at the bar and a bruschetta will be our new pit stop pre theatre!
Nicest staff in London. So there!
Experience Theo Randall's in London
Having dined twice now at Theo Randall's, and recommended it to several friends, I wasn't disappointed to dine here again. I was entertaining two friends who were visiting from Sydney and they were enamoured by the whole Theo Randall experience. The food and ambience were spot on and we enjoyed a very pleasant evening. My ravioli starter was especially delicious and the sea bass on the menu was delicious.
Decided to treat myself and since I did not want to take any risks I went to a trusted favourite that always delivers – Theo Randall. Around this time of year they are one of the few Italian restaurants that serves puntarelle and they were cooked to perfection – not too bitter and just the right level of crunchiness. The risotto frutti di mar which I had as a main was also to die for. Service is faultless, friendly and correct. No wonder there are some any regular single diners here, all of which are treated equally warmly as valued customers. Can not recommend this restaurant highly enough.
Excellent dinner -as ever
I never tire of the food at Theo Randall. Had a very enjoyable meal with a friend. The range of the TopTable menu is wide and portions are large. Service was a little brusque at times and the ambience moved quickly from very quiet to a bit too noisy. But minor quibbles really.
Lovely place for a birthday dinner
I took my parents here for a midweek birthday dinner and it's the second time I've been here for a birthday dinner. Both times haven't disappointed. We had the Toptable set menu, which was good value and there was a good choice of dishes. The food was tasty and the portion sizes were generous. I had mentioned when booking that it was for a birthday, and they brought a slice of cake out for us. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.
I can only said that everything was perfect. We enjoy a lot our night out.
The service is outstanding. Thanks a lot
An Enjoyable Experience
My wife and I dined from the lunch time set menu and had a most enjoyable meal.
The service was excellent and everyone was most attentive.
The overall value was very good and we intend to return in the future.
I'll be back
Dinning at Theo Randall's was a wonderful gastronomic experience. I was greedy and went for the Risotto di mare - fresh ingredients and sweetness of the seafood ... best seafood risotto I ever had. And Arrosto di Faraona - a generous portion of guinea fowl stuffed with prosciutto di Parma, Mascarpone, thyme, swiss chard, Porcini and Portobello mushrooms.. it was rich and the flavours were amazing.. it was a generous portion too.. It was great pleasure to meet Mr Theo Randall himself who kindly came over to say hi and checked that we've been well taken care of. I will go back again.
dinner at Theo Randall
Excellent taste and beautiful compositions in the five course dinner at Theo Randall.
What a gorgeous menu
AMAZING food, experience & attention to detail. Having seen & read about Theo we couldn't wait & rightly so. Up there with meals with Heston, Simon Rogan & Sat Bains - this was a gorgeous meal & the staff made the birthday celebration so enjoyable. The staff were fun & friendly - unlike at so many Michelin Star restaurants.
A fantastic evening, we arrived
A fantastic evening, we arrived early and enjoyed a drink at the bar before being shown to our table. The staff were polite and attentive, but not too overbearing. The sommelier was pleasant, knowledgeable and eager to assist. There was no long wait between ordering and meals arriving, the portion size was very good and the food and flavours fantastic, leaving my whole party feeling satisfied. As this was a dinner for a special occasion, it was nice to find little touches had been provided that were not expected. Whats more, it was a pleasure at the end of the meal to be introduced to Theo Randall who seemed humbled by great feedback about the meal and appeared genuinely pleased to be interacting with his customers. Highly recommended.
Remains one of the best on Toptable
Had lunch at Theo Randall's on Wednesday for the first time in a while. Everything as ever was up to Theo's usual very high standards. Service, food, ambiance cannot be faulty from the greeting on our arrival to our goodbyes. Theo Randalls is well worth a visit by one and all.
We returned to Theo Randall's
We returned to Theo Randall's for our 10th anniversary dinner and once again, they did not disappoint. Although the restaurant was not full on a Thursday night, the service was very good and our dinners were excellent. The atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant is always good, relaxing, and encouraging you to linger over your meal.
Friday Night classic
An excellent atmosphere and great food and service.
Living up to expectations
My dining companion and I had, once again, a memorable experience here at Theo Rnadall. The very efficient, unobtrusive service was again commendable. The food was very good, and was very well presented. We always enjoy the ambience of this location... we will definitely return soon!
Excellent from start to finish;
Excellent from start to finish; helpful and wonderful service and amazing food. Classy without feeling pretentious. A great experience.
Best Italian food in London
Theo Randall's at the Intercontinental Hotel serves outstanding quality rustic Italian food. Our favourite has to be the Guinea fowl cooked in their wood oven - delicious. Have dined there before and they never fail to impress.
Fantastic quality food
Went for the two course set menu, and had the added wine for £10 for two matching wines. Excellent food and experience, and great value for money given the quality. Even saw Theo at the end of the meal who seemed genuinely interested in how we enjoyed the meal. A real experience!
Huge compliments to the team. The food was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Meeting Theo was exceptional
My favourite restaurant
I have been going to this restaurant for a number of years. The menu is a delight. I can always find dishes which appeal to me and which are delicious unlike some restaurants whose menus are just too "precious". The wine list is extensive with an extremely wide selection to suit all tastes and pocket. The service has always been top standard. It is no wonder I keep going back. The bar area with its comfy chairs is an ideal place to sit and enjoy a pre-meal drink.
Generous and good service
We went for 2 courses for 27 pounds. All food we ordered was very good and generous portion. We were full up completely.
I always like elegant atmosphere in the restaurant.
Marvellous in Mayfair
We had lunch in this restaurant to celebrate my husbands birthday and we're not disappointed. The flavour of the food was exceptional and each plate had good portions of food on it, so much so that we didn't have dessert. I get fed up going to these lovely restaurants and end up with 3tablespoons of food on my plate this doesn't happen here. The tomato bruschetta was the best I halve ever tasted and this set us up for the rest of the meal. The service was very good and not intrusive. We will definitely have a meal here again and the price was very good. They even have an offer on for wine to compliment your meal. Overall excellent we'll done everyone -see you again
Top quality lunch
Top quality lunch from the set menu makes this one of the best value lunch spots in Cenrntral London. Wines by the glass are also appropriate
excellent value lunch on toptable
Two courses of excellent food with a glass of prosecco in the 5 star luxury of the intercontinental has got to be a good deal - and it was.
Restaurant was quiet which suited us fine as we wanted to talk business but would not be a fun place for lunch.
A Chef that there- cooking
We attended the restaurant on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was filling up nicely. Male waiter was very good and knew the menu inside out. We had the tasting menu. It was great. 5 courses. Especially the 2nd for myself- veal encased with the finest pasta and a lovely mushroom sauce. My guest enjoyed the lemon tart the most. We were able to go into the kitchen after the meal. Theo Randall was there cooking away. Was able to say hello and how we enjoyed his food we'd just taken. Would recommend a visit
Very enjoyable evening
I took my clients to Theo Randal as a Christmas get together and we had an excellent evening. The cocktails were good - the lemon and rosemary cocktail was delicious. The complimentary bread was amazing - could have had that on its own. Portions were very generous. I had a seafood linguinie to start and the fish was excellent. The rack of lamb was absolutely outstanding - melted in my mouth. The clementine sorbet was the best sorbet I've ever had. Service was good - not overly attentive. Very comfortable restaurant in a non pretentious environment. My clients loved it. Would certainly go back.
The set menu deal is brilliant
The set menu deal is brilliant value. The wine list is very expensive so is recommend the matched wines with the set menu.
Great and intimate place for dinner
Great ambience and great service. Food was brilliant and very tasty.
A perfect 'Tasting Menu' with
A perfect 'Tasting Menu' with not too much food. A very happy experience and the wine waiter chose the perfect Italian red wine for the meal.
Great value and great experience
Took a friend as a treat for her birthday. We had the set menu which is great value for money.
The staff were helpful, attentive (but not too much) and friendly. Service was great and the ambience was easy going and relaxing.
I would reccommend going and be sure to check out their special offers. Will definitely be going back!
