Exceptional lunchtime value
The Northall's fixed price lunch menu (£28 for 3 courses) gives outstanding value. We compared it with the a la carte and it includes a lot of the a la carte's dishes, with plenty of choice for each course. We both had a fantastically tasty tuna carpaccio to start, then a sea bass with perfect accompaniments and a very good quality burger. The cheese plate was a little on the small side (given it has a £5 supplement) but the cheeses were good, and the vanilla and peach cold rice pudding dish was gorgeous. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive and the room is spacious and attractive. At lunchtime on a Friday it was surprisingly quiet but very good for a couple of hours relaxation. We will go back!
Had a great lunch and drinks Saturday afternoon, fantastic hotel and service would highly recommend.
Too expensive for me without the TopTable deal, (sorry) but with it we got top 5 star quality, service excellent, food all perfectly cooked and at a price we could just about afford. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. We'll be back again.
nice place to...
Went here to catch u with an old friend, was a lovely eve.
Really very lovely restaurant and bars at this hotel. Nicely made cocktails to kick off, then an early dinner in the comfortable light filled restaurant. I ate from the £30 menu and my companion from the a la carte. His dressed crab was lovely but his main of chicken was ordinary. My egg mayo and ham was delicious and my minute steak quite tasty. Spinach and chip sides were both excellent. Really nice bottle of wine and even including service charge, this was a really good value meal. Service throughout was excellent. Will definitely return.
My husband and I had a wonderful lunch at the Northall, the food was extremely good, the service first class and the restuarnt delightful. Would thoroughly recommend. We had fixed lunch cost which was incredibly good value.
Only fly in the ointment was the cost of the wine - very very expensive - but if you stick to soft drinks then you will get a great deal.
This is one of my go-to places. Comfortable, great menu, great service, great location. This last time I was there with guests for a pre-theatre dinner and the service was really outstanding--accommodating our time perfectly.
Special ocassion safari experience
We went to celebrate a special occasion and thoroughly enjoyed the attention and food the staff made an effort to ensure we enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent and the ambiance just right for our occasion.
From the moment you arrive and are led to your table you know you are in a special place, and about to be astounded.the menu is broad and intelligent making it difficult to choose. Because we were coming to the end of a visit to England and had not eaten fish and chips we chose what was the most mundane item on the menu, but this was no ordinary fish or chips or peas but battered to perfection and cooked to the perfect point of moisture and succulence. We matched it with a bottle of NZ Sauvignon Blanca which the sommelier recommended. It was chock full of fruit, especially gooseberries!
What a delightful meal.
Excellent service and food,cant
Excellent service and food, cant fault anything at The Northall, eaten there 3 times now and will be back again soon
Quiet but lovely food
Went for the pre-theatre 3 courses deal. We were one of 2 tables occupied between 6 and 7.15pm although the bar area was lively. Food and service all very nice. Main courses very good although vegetarian risotto was a bit stodgy and solid.
Always a reliable choice but by the time you add extras and water (at £5 a bottle - so remember to ask for tap!) not a cheap option but the location and style of the dining room really pleasant.
Fantastic venue and service, food tasty and nicely presented (though not exactly fine dining), good selection of wine.
A lovely meal with friends, good food, lovely situation, and good service. Will be back again soon!
Great all rounder
Beautiful setting very stylish. Great service and extensive choice on none a la carte.
I booked this randomely after
I booked this randomely after looking at reviews and was certainly amazed when i walked throuh the door. The staff were excellent;l and it was such a pleasure to spend the evening with my family in such beautiful surroundings. We will certainly go back again and have recommended to friends and colleagues.
Excellent food and good value
Booked a birthday lunch. 5 people including one child. The food was very good. Starters were big compared to nouvelle cuisine and the mains were also big and very nicely cooked. Between us, we had the hake, the lemon sole and the burger. My friend commented that the burger was the best he has had in London The lemon sole was cooked to perfection. Very good service. Prompt but not intrusive. Very good choice (5 or 6 for each course) on the fixed priced menu. Very good vlue for money and we were not made to feel like second class citizens because we ordered from the fixed price menu (which seems to be a general trend in other places).
we booked this restaurant for the jazz brunch with free flowing champagne for a birthday celebration. The experience was superb, everything was perfect, the food was delicious, the music and singing were just right for brunch. the service was first class and the delightful waitress kept our glasses topped up throughout. This is a beautiful venue which provides a wonderful experience and we will be coming here again in the not too distant future
Beautiful food, lovely surroundings
Beautiful food, lovely surroundings, but drinks just a little too pricey. Wonderful for special occasions.
WHAT A FIND!
Elegant style, very delightful staff, Michelin standard main course (hake). I prefer it to the Savoy. We arranged to meet in the adjoining, equally elegant bar - where the staff were also delightful. We couldn't find any fault whatever.
Pre-theatre 3 courses for £30
Great pre-theatre 3 courses for £30 deal. It's the second time we've taken friends there - they always like it. Beautiful room, great food and efficient service! We'll be back!
This was my second time eating at The Northall. It was a special occassion and I knew that it was a good place for us to go. The food was tasty and good size portions (good value for money). The drinks were the only part of the meal that was a bit too expensive but we had some really good bottles of wine with dinner.
The Northall, Corinthia Hotel
A great champange brunch with friends - really enjoyed by all.
Much improved since launch
We returned to the Northall this week, after many months of avoiding it owing to past experiences when the food and service did not measure up to the menu's price point or the restaurant's breathtaking interior. I believe they are getting things right now: service was prompt, courteous and attentive, and our waiter was happy to share his insights with us in a very professional manner. The food was first rate, beautifully cooked and well presented. Happy to recommend the Northall as a solid fin dining choice in this part of central London.
Went Saturday evening and had £30 3 courses with a glass of champagne, it was absolutely delicious and good value for money. The quality of the food was excellent and will certainly be going back.
This is an excellent venue
This is an excellent venue for lunch and the fixe menu is excellent value. The food is of a very high level and the staff are very courteous and attentive. My only criticism is that the wine list is very expensive - having a house carafe at lunch would be welcomed.
Excellent food on the pre-
Excellent food on the pre- theatre menu. Choice of 3 on each course and all were presented impeccably. Good value at £30 with a glass of champagne but the other drinks soon mounted up so not a budget evening out!
Would definitely return . We also fancy trying the Bassoon bar in the hotel.
Great pre theatre choice too!
Very good three courses in only an hour, within easy walk of the theatres. It's not normally a hurried venue but they can do it very well on request, with no compromise in quality.
Pre-theatre dining at its best
Popped in here for their pre-theatre set menu before going to a show and was really impressed. The food (flavour and presentation) was awesome good and the staff friendly and professional. The sommelier was really knowledgable and helped us chose a great wine to go with the food. Only complaint was that we didn't leave ourselves enough time to really enjoy being there before we had to leave to get to the Theatre. We thought it was fairly good value for money given the setting and food. Would definately recommend it.
LADIES LUNCHEON - 28 SEPTMEBER
I had lunch with 5 lady friends last Saturday in the Northall Restaurant at The Corinthia Hotel.. Service good but not hurried. The Fixed Price Menu had plenty of choices and options to suit all tastes. The presentation and quality of the food was excellent. And at an affordable price. Wonderful setting though there was not a lot of atmosphere due to the lack of other diners. That is... until about 2.30 pm when people started to come into the restaurant for a late lunch. All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and I will certainly be going back.
Great place to relax and dine!
Fantastic food and service. Great experience pre-theatre
Pre and post theatre menu is exceptional value and high standard of food and service.
We were running 10mins late , that was not a problem at all, from start to finish , all i can say is wow, what an experience ,
lovely staff, fantastic food , unreal value £30 for a three coarse pre theater meal, the drinks were expensive , but you are in a 5 star restaurant , so worth paying the extra.
delicious and good value prix fixe
The Northall was a good venue for a working lunch. The prix fixe menu had a good range of potions and the food was well-judged and delicious. Good service too. My only quibble was a luke-warm cappucino.
I had eaten at the Corinthia before over a year ago and it was ok, this time we were 4 people, me plus my friend and her parents visiting London from Belfast for her parents 52nd wedding anniversary. The service was just wonderful, attentive, caring, genuine and made us all feel like VIPs. The menu, despite an amazing £30 for a 3 course meal was not restrictive but almost impossible to pick just one course from each. They even overheard that it was a special occasion and made even more of a fuss of the parents and their anniversary making it all the more special. The food was delicious, service outsanding and value for money for such impressive and chic surroundings 6 stars! I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of that £30 menu :-)
Great Food Great Service Great Plac
The service was fantastic with waitresses very attentive and keen to please.
The food choice and quality was excellent.
Attention to detail.
Friday evening meal
Four of us ate here recently. The service was very good as was the food. The wines are pricey so it's difficult to go for something less than £40 a bottle. That's disappointing as we may have ordered more wine. There is a very nice bar with music in the establishment and we had nightcaps in there and the atmosphere was a bonus.
The restaurant was perfect regarding the seating area. The tables were nicely spaced out so that you couldn't hear anyone elses conversation so was still nice and private.
The onion and garlic soup was amazing (as was the whole menu choice that we made) and the wine was a good quality too.
We were charged incorrectly on our bill (charged for 3 meas instead of 2) so we brought this up with the waitress who gave us a complimentary glass of champagne (even though we didn't complain, we just pointed out the error).
Very friendly staff, lovely food and a lovely experience.
Food fantastic and service outstanding. The staff were smiley, friendly and helpful.
Will be going there again
This is my 4th visit to the Northall.food and service very good.give it a try
We spent an amazing evening to the Northall restaurant. Congratulation to all the team !!!
We were celebrating the recent marriage of a niece. This proved the perfect place -- helpful staff, elegant surroundings, delicious food in reasonable portions. Expensive but worth it.
Excellent !! A true winner. Gorgeous decor. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our starter of crab was divine, a real winner. The dessert, chocolate and hazelnut the best I've had for a very long time, melt in the mouth. Highly recommend.
Our third visit so far. Very good food, lovely setting and service. The Northall is in beautiful surroundings & we had a great view the South Bank lights of London. Usual impeccable service, excellent food & wine. The £30 champers deal is great value. Will be going again next time we're in town.
Great value food options but
Great value food options but the wines are pricey.
Wonderful as always
We have not been to the Northhall in a year, however the dining room is just as beautiful as when we last visited. The food is also very good, especially if you are booking from the set menu. What really sets this place in my heart is the staff, wonderful service every time! You really feel looked after and as if you are staying at a friends.
Many thanks! We hope to see you again soon.
A friend and I booked the
A friend and I booked the pre-theatre menu (3 courses and a glass of champagne for £30). There was a good choice from the set menu and the service and food were very good - the confit duck was particularly good. Unfortunately, we ran out of time for dessert as we had to get to the theatre in time for our show but the waitress was very accommodating and said that we could return to the restaurant after the show and have dessert.
From the moment we walked through the door of the Northall restaurant at the Corinthia Hotel we were treated like royalty. The service was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. There wasn't much choice on the pre theatre menu but what was available was delicious. The main course of confit duck was outstanding along with the fondant potato. The dessert was a mouthwatering experience with the Parkin and poached pears. I will definitely return again next time I am in London.
Perfect for a family meal
Perfect for a family meal for my father's birthday (aged 72). Restaurant was pretty quiet on a Sunday lunchtime but that was fine for our purpose....food served promptly, attentive staff, very smart surroundings, central location but off the tourist trail. Had the prix fixe for £28 for three courses....was prepared to have the a la carte but there was plenty of choice on the prix fixe. My dessert choice was poor (a 'selection of sorbet & ice cream' turned out to be three small (but that's fine) balls all the same colour, two of which were sorbet (but I couldn't tell what flavour) and one ice cream (vanilla): it looked and tasted a bit dull. It did come with 3 small chocolate chip biscuits, which semi-saved it from being *really* dull.
Great restaurant, attentive service, delicious food. The decor is stunning, but we ate at noon and were only one of two tables there so it was pretty quiet
Great value for money...
Liked the place very much be it the ambience or the jazz music or the food or the location... impressed with the hospitalityof the staff & quality of food...
