IT WAS MY FIRST VISIT TO RASOI
IT WAS MY FIRST VISIT TO RASOI PONTLLIW . I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE AND WILL DEFINITELY GO THERE AGAIN.
A class act!
As an Indian, I have been searching for an Indian rests titans that I would actually recommend to friends- Rasoi ticked all boxes. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Our waiter even showed us your Harlem shake on his phone when we asked him to as we were leaving! A request- please don't let standards slip!
Best curry in Swansea area!
We have been to the Rasoi now only 3 times and both agree it is our favourite and best place to go for a curry! Everything about their food is superb, from the quality ingredients to the taste and size of portions - just right! We live about 20 mins drive away and it's worth the petrol!
We look forward to our next booking!
Rasoi - as good as remembered
Some friends down to meet us for the evening and we wanted a good restaurant convenient to the M4. Rasoi is only a few minutes from j47. We were shown to our table and everyone admired the tasteful decor of the restaurant. Service was timely and frequent without being over-bearing. We all selected different dishes and shared - the meal was superb. In particular, the tandoori mixed grill was an absolute feast and the prawns with green rice delightful!! the only complaint from one party member was that the ice-cream was too creamy. The rest of us suffered quite happily! We all want to return.
What can i say another great meal at Rasoi. Never fail to impress. Table of 12 put in a private booth and looked after like VIPs!!
A good resturant
This resturant is very good, the food is excellent and the surroundings beautiful. Although some times the service can be a little slw
Lovely atmosphere, really relaxing , had Sunday lunch, waiters friendly and attentive, food fantastic, fast service. Good menu. Will defiantly go back and recommend to friends.
Mixed experience - will go back
It took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive (I chased them twice, it was only a sparkling water & a coke) the popadoms were fab, starters horrid (onion bahji and samosa were baked, and very heavy), curry was amazing though, they cook everything fresh - you can taste that. We were there very late, arrived at 8.15 and didn't leave until 10:20, service was very slow but they had a lot of big parties and staff were very polite and apologetic. Vegetarians beware though aside from a cottage cheese dish there are NO main courses for you - you would have to order side dishes.
Another Great Experience
This was, again, an exceptionally enjoyable sunday afternoon family get together. Food and service up to usual high and unique standard. All fully and thoroughly enjoyed by young and old alike. And to cap it all, it was a beautiful day outside where, after the meal, the children could run around awhile in the park and let off some steam!. Many thanks to all the staff for their care and attention at all times. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
Restaurant with a difference
The restaurant is different to other Indian restaurants that I have been to it is very roomy with different sections where people can eat. The food is very good and there is a service to match. I would defiantly go again.
We have eaten at the Rasoi
We have eaten at the Rasoi a number of times now and it is always a pleasurable experience. The staff are a great bunch and although there are probably fewer options listed on the menu than some other restaurants, the quality is very good indeed and I've yet to be disappointed. We simply love the look and feel of the place, it's just fantastic. On this occasion it was just two of us, although we have also taken family groups too and we always enjoy. Definitely recommended.
This is not your normal curry house - it's much better. The food was excellent as was the service. It was no more expensive than an average high street curry though so it was outstanding value. Save room for the homemade (yes all made on the premises) desserts. A really enjoyable experience.
Excellent food as usual. One
Excellent food as usual. One point would be to get the booking system more organizes - I was asked 'several' times if I had booked by a variety of staff - otherwise lovely.
Amazing ambience, and the
Amazing ambience, and the decor was outstanding! Very impressed! Great service, really couldn't ask for better. However, the tikka masala was very spicy and wasn't to my taste as I thought it was a mild dish? The chips were also a let down as they tasted more like a wedge, I was a little disappointed as I was expecting great things. I couldn't finish all my food as it really was too hot, apart from that we had a great experience, and I would contemplate returning, but next time I will order something else.
One of the very few authentic indian restaurants. Great ambience. Good service. Food--"la jawab" (delicious).
We have visited the Rasoi now a number of times and every time they have given excellent service and produced the best indian cuisine I have tasted in a long time, highly recommend for any occasion.
The dining experience was marred by the fact that the waiter brought the wrong drinks and then followed that up by bringing the wrong starters.
Apart from that, the meal and staff were of a high standard.
We have dined 3 times at the Rasoi Pontlliw and each time has been a delight. The menu is small but different to the usual curry house menus but every meal has been delicious. The decor of the Rasoi is very tasteful and the staff on a whole are polite although some don't seem to be very welcoming! All in all, dining at the Rasoi is a lovely experience
We booked this at very short notice for a romantic meal for two and Rasoi was great as always. The staff are always great but our waiter on this occasion (sorry, forgot to get his name) was an utter gem. Food always good but I simply love the Rasoi decor. Quite a busy night though, they were pretty busy but looked like they were handling it admirably.
Excellent dining experience
This was our first visit to the Rasoi in Swansea and it certainly won't be the last. The surroundings, service and food were outstanding. Wide choice on the menu. Our food was well presented, tasty and definitely moreish - and served by a waiter in white gloves definitely a first for us. All in all an excellent ding experience and can be recommended.
I was a little apprehensive as after I booked a family member told me that their party had poor service and cold food! I think that they must have eaten at a different restaurant ! The food was excellent. The service very attentive.
Its the third time I have eaten here, I am not keen on their chutney tray as they claim to do more traditional dishes, well I like the normal stuff! we therefore went for starters and we were all so impressed we started insisting that everyone tries eachothers! Main meals come out, tonnes of flavour, cooked perfectly. Rice could have been more generous! Chilly Chips are awesome! One of us even had the fillet steak due, and I was a little Jealous! well worth the money
They were also child friendly, there was no children's menu, but the waiter said they can have nuggets, sausage etc with chips and beans, and they brought these out first so we could get the kids settled to food, so it would not interrupt our food when it arrived!VERY HAPPY!
Lovely set up, gorgeous food at very good prices for the quality of the food.
Great place for couples or groups. Nice friendly staff as well. Would highly recommend :-)
It's one of the best Indians
It's one of the best Indians I've had for a long time everything tasted fresh and was presented very well can't wait to go again , we went about tea time and it was very well serviced just a little note the waiter there was two of us and he sat us down at a table right next to a family already eating just thought he had the whole of the restaurant to choose from and sat us there ? small details . We would recommend it to anyone because the foods the star which it should be in any restaurant .
Foodie joy at the Rasoi!
First time at this restaurant. Impressive decor, ambience and spaciousness. Attentive friendly staff. Very varied menu with good vegetarian options and regional dishes - very different from the traditional high street curry house. Good wine and drinks list. Off our beaten track but would definitely use again. However lunched on a very quiet Sunday so hope the locals appreciate and frequent!
Nice place, lovely food, clean - staff good - average price - plenty of parking - toilets clean
The setting on a sunny day, time for a nice meal on a Friday evening, and I was expecting a lot as I had been told lots about this place. I was not disappointed , the decor is just lovely very luxurious but that can all play second fiddle if the food is not good, which it is very good indeed, very fragrant and portions are a good size, staff are friendly and plentiful.
nice romantic lunch
it is located at a nice quiet area, it is spacious and the service smooth and fast. Nice tastes and kind waitors. Very clean toillets both for male and female. Easy access and parking.
South Wales Hidden Gem
Rasoi is tucked away a few miles off the M4 but is well worth the effort of finding.
The restaurant is tastefully decorated in a Raj meets Linda Barker style - no stuffy stained tablecloths here, just wooden tables, designer cutlery and crockery - simplistic and stylish.
This serves as an example of what is to come - the menu is simple and straightforward and has a good selection to cater for all tastes. For me the wide range of fish dishes was especially pleasing. Moreover if what you want isn't on the menu you can ask for your favourite dish.
The food was simply the best Indian food I have eaten out.
Thoroughly enjoyed a family
Thoroughly enjoyed a family evening meal at the Rasoi, the food was excellent and the presentation was far removed from that of most Indian restaurants. The dining room was comfortable and as a group of 5 we had plenty of room to eat in comfort. We would definitely recommend the Rasoi as one of the best Indian Restaurants in South Wales.
I live very local to the Rasoi and don't know why I haven't frequented this restaurant before - it's brilliant, such good food and service. The décor is beautiful, the seating plush and comfortable - and such a lot of it! I can't wait to eat there again.
I notice a lot of reviews refer to the service being very slow - I can imagine that when the place is full and due to the food being cooked fresh there may be delays. It wasn't busy when I visited.
we didn't expect a great experience. But it was a nice surprise. Nice ambience and very good food. Bit on the expensive side but worth it!! some of the waiters could be more friendly!
Good night out
Visited with my family, we're seated almost straight away. Staff were kind and helpful. Menu gave good choice and I think the children's play area is ideal. Venue is beautiful and very well presented. Only complaint is the waiting between starter and main course, although I understand it could be because the restaurant was fairly busy. All in all a very good restaurant, I hope to return again and I will recommend to friends and family.
who doesnt love the chutney tray!?
Absolutely outstanding! great food and good service. The waiter was very helpful and patient, best place to go for a group of friends to catch up. There was 10 of us! Drinks were expensive but the food was definitely worth it :) loved the relaxed feel of the place, this is now my favorite Indian Restaurant!
I have visited Rasoi on many occasions and once again they have been outstanding. From the service to the quality of the food. Plenty of choice on the menu from a traditional curry and rice to more refined dining choices. Beautiful!! Cant wait to go again!
Good food and nice ambience
Went there for dinner with my other half.
Food was great service much better than the last time and all in all great.
Third visit to Rasoi and the food just keeps on being excellent. Service was a little slow this time but food well worth the wait.
Best restaurant in town!!!
The Rasoi is our favourite place to eat. You can really make an evening of eating here. The food tastes delicious and the presentation is fabulous. Theres not a bad dish on the menu. The waiter service is second to none, and you aren't made to feel you have to rush your meal. They are very accommodating and they take pride in ensuring that your food is to your liking and you are having an enjoyable evening.
We had a pleasant afternoon. The set menu was excellent value for money with some rather interesting dishes taking traditional British meals, adding an Asian influence. The Sheppards Pie was greatly enjoyed.
Visited Rasoi for a friend's
Visited Rasoi for a friend's birthday.
On arrival we were offered drinks and menus to peruse. It was great to see the menu offer a very different choice of Indian dishes.
I chose sea bass and my friends chose monkfish, lamb chops and chicken passanda. We also had a spinach side dish and also one with lentils plus the usual chutneys and peshwari naan.
Beware! The portions are very generous. We struggled to finish our main and left a lot of the side dishes. Such a shame as the food is absolutely amazing! The bill of just over £70 including drinks was a surprise considering the quality of the food.
Service was very good. The only disappointment was the small numbers of customers, but it was a Tuesday night!
We will definitely return!
Really enjoy eating here fantastic
Really enjoy eating here fantastic food, customer service and atmosphere
Yet another great meal - Faultless.
In all the times I've been here, I've not been able to find fault with either the food or the service, both are always outstanding. The food is so full of flavour and I'm trying to work my way through the complete menu. Everything is to a very high standard, this is definitely not a "curry house", it's as good as ant high-class restaurant, but without high-class prices.
Keep up the excellent work. I look forward to dining with you again soon.
Lovely decor, great food and friendly staff. All in all, an enjoyable experience.
Best Curry By Far
When we think about where to go for a good curry, the Rasoi is that one that comes top of our list!
Not what you expect.
If your expecting a normal 'UK Indian restaurant' meal then be prepared to be enlightened. The cuisine in the Rasoi is poles apart from that which you may have experienced at the ususal 'UK Indian' restaurant. Very delicious and non greasy meals. Fantastic fish curry not to be missed.
Great surroundings. Don't let the external appearance of the restaurant put you off because the inside is a very pleasant suprise..
Visited for the first time last night and we were both very impressed. When our main meal arrived initially I was a little disappointed at the portion size (I had the Meetha Jingha - Honey and Ginger Prawns with Green Rice) as it was simply 7 or 8 large King Prawns arrange around a small pot of rice, but I was very wrong! Deceptively filling! Although I still managed to squeeze in a dessert. Service was excellent, great value for money overall.
The only bad point was that to get to the toilets you have to to out of the main restaurant area and out by the entrance / exit doors, which were open and it was blowing a gale and raining. This meant I got wet and very, very cold.
Will definitely be visiting again though.
Had a wonderful meal again at the Rasoi, our guests were very impressed with the décor and food.
Well worth a visit, with friends,
Well worth a visit, with friends, family & couples. Ambience was great, you couldn't fault the service & the food was very flavoursome. I would defiantly go there again.
This was yet another visit
This was yet another visit to Rasoi, this time for a family sunday lunch gathering. I am pleased to be able to reiterate what I have said on many previous occasions,- everything was excellent across the board. It was very quiet when we arrived but that did not spoil the atmosphere despite it being a very large restaurant. The seating is so arranged that you are usually oblivious to what goes on elsewhere and therefore focussed on enjoying your table. Food and service was excellent standard. Have already booked our next table in a few weeks time, and all the family members age range 6 to 70 yrs are looking forward to it very much. Highly recommended.
arrived and went straight to table.no waiting even though the resruarant was full, service was pleasant and prompt, food was delicious whether it was a traditional curry or one of the fusion meals, unlike normal indian restaurants deserts are a must here, especially the home made ice cream
