Been to Massala Hut before
Been to Massala Hut before & it was good again. My friend had the passanda though and was distinctly underwhelmed. There's one thing a dish not having spice but another lacking flavour. Avoid that dish but don't avoid this restaurant.
Fear I've written half the
Fear I've written half the reviews of Massala Hut on here - but took another group of ten last night and it was another good little evening. Food is delicious, but don't expect anything to happen too quickly. Some of the curries can be on the hot side, so play safe if you're nervous.
Reliable - great value
Been here umpteen times already and there's a reason we keep coming back. Great value with the discount as the food is delicious. Service seems to be better than it was a few months ago - heartily recommended.
great food, and great service.
great food, and great service. there were 9 of us although i only booked for 8. staff very accommodating and friendly. we all had a lovely evening. it was my first time and i would def go back. one of my group said that he has been a few times and always prefers this restaurant to some of the others on the street.
We are pleased with the service. For some of us this was the second or third visit. We are planning to frequent your lovely restaurant.
Awesome quality with value
I was sceptical given the proliferation of good Indian restaurants in the area, but Massala Hut was one of the best curries I've had in a long time. My experience is not insignificant and I'd rank this right up there with some of the best I've had. Added to that, it was 50% off the bill and they were very patient with the kids.
All in all, a great place and I'll be returning very shortly
Lovely meal and helpful friendly
Lovely meal and helpful friendly service. V convenient location for UCH. Crab dish delicious. Service charge surprisingly taken based on cost before reduction rather than cost to pay. I would have preferred to make own decision about how and how much service charge to pay
Good fresh Indian food
Went early evening and had a lovely quiet meal. Some dishes we had not had before which were lovely. Recommend.
Lovely meal with speedy service
Although there was some confusion over the offer we had for the meal (50% off food) the staff were very friendly and soon got the mix-up sorted. The meal we had was delicious, and service was very prompt - perfect for while we were waiting for our train at Euston. I would recommend this place to friends. Many thanks!
Went with friends, decent food and good value with deal. Staff very friendly, attentive but not overly, never felt rushed as we spent a while chatting before we ordered. Pleasant decor and nice ambiance. would recommend
THis was our second time and again food/service were very good. They try and accomodate different tastes. Will be back again soon.
I went back twice in two weeks, the food is great and the service is very good and friendly. I wander why it was quite empty both times, I'd imagine it is the long-established well known indian restaurants on the same street but I do recommend this one too!!!
Place had very good food, friendly staff and clean modern premises.
Friendly service, good food, welcoming atmosphere. Room temperature a little chilly at times though.
We have never had a bad meal or experience in Massala Hut and would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to all who love a good curry. Any requests or changes to dishes are always accommodated.
Friendly and good value
This was a late booking - literally 30 minutes before we sat down to eat. The restaurant was busy and we were quickly shown to our table. Drinks and food quickly arrived, but didn't feel rushed.
Great value for dinner with friends or colleagues.
OK curry, great value
Curry was good, nothing extraordinary, but tasty enough. Booked the early bird deal, arriving bang on the end of it at 18:00 and was outstanding value with 50% of drinks as well - very unusual. Recommended for a casual eating out, but maybe not a special occasion.
A fine of example of a curry house
We had USA visitors who wanted to try curry, and we need somewhere near Euston - and Massala Hut was just the job. Intrerior is tired, but staff were helpful and friendly, and the food was very good indeed, and very well presented too - would certainly go back again - so handy being just 5 mins walk from Euston. The 50% off food deal topped it all off! And our visitors loved it!
Very pleasant and convenient
Booked here at short notice, with an offer from toptable which provided excellent value. Waiter was attentive, although the restaurant was very quiet this is possibly due to the time of day (only 5PM) and more people were arriving as we left.
Food was excellent. I've had a couple of dodgy curries in London and this is certainly one of the better ones in my experience.
Also, location is very convenient for Euston station.
Authentic Indian Food
When I arrived, my dad and I were two of about 5 diners in the restaurant at around 7pm, so I can't really comment on the ambience. It did get much more busy towards 8/9pm.
The food was really good, authentic Indian food without being overpriced. The waiters were kind and attentive, and humoured my dad who spent many years in the Middle East, so thinks he's a bit of an Indian food Connoisseur!
I thought the value was really good and I'm really glad to have found such a nice, down to earth Indian restaurant that serves quality food. It's ideal for an informal meet up over a few Cobras!
A very good deal for a Sat night
Don't be put off by the outside face of this restaurant. The food quality is good and care is taken when it is cooked so it's a high standard. The lamb shank curry was amazing. We got 50 % off on a sat night which meant we paid £22 a head for 2 courses and alcohol - on a sat night! Outstanding value. Staff were v friendly too.
the food was excellent, really well flavoured and good sized portions. the meat was very tender. Service was excellent, staff were very friendly. Definitely would go back for more!
Good food and value
Visited on a Top Table deal. The food was tasty and value for money. The staff were friendly.
Great value with the 50% offer
Really enjoyed our meal at the Massala Hut. The food was very good particularly the tandoori chicken which was the best we've eaten in London. The service was friendly and efficient and with the 50% offer on the food it was excellent value.
Interesting & varied
Plenty of vegetarian options, copious choices in meat & fish too, well balanced and properly spiced
good value family dinner. standard indian restaurant food with a large menu. Some of the dishes were excellent, some a little bit oily and bland but overall a really good meal especially with the 50% off. Staff were very nice and attentive for the majority of the night. Would definitely go back with the toptable offer.
We attended on a special offer.
We attended on a special offer. The service was good and the food was plentiful and very tasty and I should know as my mum has set the bar high with her homemade curries. My husband who rarely eats anything spicier than a twiglet, really enjoyed the tandoori mixed grill and as the portions were big and there was so much left over the staff kindly gave us a doggy bag. The restaurant is conveniently close to Warren Street tube station, although at the moment there are road works on Drummond Street so if you are travelling by car, it is wise to check the parking situation beforehand.
Table of 9 well looked after
An after work do was good value with the 50% offer. Quite busy for a Thursday evening made for a good atmosphere. All the usual fayre, well cooked and probably slightly better than your average Indian restaurant. Despite the fact we were a crowd, service was cheerful and reasonably prompt. Would go again with the 50% deal - probably a bit pricy otherwise.
